The Economy in Brazil has caught up to AA. Changes now are just São Paulo. Starting April 5th Miami - São Paulo daytime flight is cancelled and the 3 evening flights are being downsized to old 777 from the newer and bigger 777w.

I love Airbnb. I've been using them for a couple of years and have never had any problems. My trips are all 30 days or more, so much cheaper than a hotel. With long stays it's great having a kitchen. Just my opinion.

I'll mostly agree with you about Hero, but you can do very well with 1000-1500. It takes me 2 days to spend 4000. I have been to Rio many times so I do have a good feel for the differences.

I don't want to get into the Asain thing in the Brazilian forum again, but if you paid those kind of prices in Thailand, you need to work on your negotiating skills. I spent 5 months in Thailand this past year didn't pay anywhere those prices.

If price is very important, the Chinese airlines have been offering some great deals this winter. Usually midweek flights. Good luck with retirement. All my trips were 7-10 days. Then I retired and now all my trips are 30 days or more. Just don't spend all your money the first week. With 30 days you can pace yourself.

Firecat you just hit on my biggest point for using Uber. There are some Soi's in Bangkok where taxis don't go. Hero is my best example. I always take taxi going somewhere because it is easy to get at my apt. But if no taxi when I leave somewhere, Uber (or grabtaxi) are invaluable. Rain is another story. No taxis, but Uber shows up.

Yes, it has definitely made a huge change for me. I used to wait till night time to go out and find some fun. Now the boys are texting me all day long. The only problem is when they call or text when I'm back in the US. They don't really understand the 12 hour time difference. So when they start getting up in the afternoon, it's middle of the night here.

Have you checked out Airbnb. Lots of places to chose from. I use them in Bangkok with great luck. Your budget might be a bit low for the amenities your looking for.

I use Uber to get to the airport when home in Ft.Lauderdale and now swear by it. I have the opposite taxi situation in Bangkok, the taxis flow past my apt and it takes about a minute to get one. So no need for Uber. Then one day I was at Hero Massage. Sometimes it's hard to get taxi there. Lots of times taxi or tuk tuk will just take you to skytrain. I decided to try Uber one day a few months ago. Worked great. Show up right to the driveway. And you can follow the car coming to you online. Some days I wouldn't go to Hero just because I didn't want to deal with getting a ride back. Now not an issue. Taxi cost 150-200. Uber has been around 125. Less than $4.00 us. In the US it would be over $25.00. Transportation in Thailand is a great bargain. Oz, also check out grabtaxi. They have more service, but use taxis. I like Uber because the use mostly newer cars which is nice.

Oz, I wish I knew you were headed there and looking for a bottom. I would have sent advance warning you were coming. The Vietnamese boys are great tops, but they don't like bottoming. I got a message from a friend today that my boy lost his phone yesterday. I sent a message back that I'm not buying him one, until and maybe when I get back in Feb. but if he gets a phone, I'm going to push him a bit and ask if he knows if any if the Vietnamese boys will bottom for a price.

i think what your looking for is there, but you might have to spend a little time looking. Your size won't matter to them at all. Your not going to find what you would call large in Brazil. 7"-8" is becoming much more common, I think 9"-10" would be a difficult find. Also I think twink in Asia is a bit different than twink in Brazil. You'll find a boy in Bangkok that you will think a beautiful twink and then find out he is 28. On good weekends, (Nov is beginning of high season with lots of new boys) there can be a pool of close to 1000 boys to chose from. I think you will find what your looking for.

Try the ap. WeChat. You can text with a boy and it translates each text. It's easy to carry a full conversation.

Firecat, this is where I will say for me, Sex is Not my main interest. I can go out 7 nights in a row and have sex or I can go out 7 nights in a row and not have sex. While not main interest, it's up there. I'm not into the social aps. I have always been a visual, hands on person. I have to see it in person and touch it, so to speak. I don't even shop online. I enjoy hanging in Soi Twilight as the eye candy is great. I have a lot of friends there also. In Pattaya, I do enjoy Boyztown. I also enjoy the 24 hour plane ride from Miami more than I enjoy the ride from Bangkok to Pattaya. If I could get a driver that would stay awake, I would do the drive at 4 am. I will spend a few days there in Feb.

When I first started traveling to Thailand about 8 years ago, I stayed in Pattaya and usually hit up Bangkok last night before leaving. Now it's the other way around. I haven't been to Pattaya in a couple of year, staying only in Bangkok. I really love the city. I come back in February for 3 months and will definitely get to Pattaya this trip.

If I was staying in a hotel, I wouldn't stay for 3 months. Having the apartment is just like living at home. Ive made a lot of friends and have a boy that stays with me when I'm there. Here in Ft.Lauderdale I'm quietly retired. In Bangkok I'm busy retired. When I did my first 30 day trip, I started thinking I was staying a couple of weeks to long. Then I made a point of getting out and doing a little more exploring and filing my days. There is no problem filling the nights When the month was up, I was ready to stay longer. I've flown over 5 times this year. That's a lot of wear and tear on the ass. So I'm thinking of 2, 3 month trips. We will see how that goes. I've been home for 3 days now and I'm already looking at airfares.

I'm waiting a couple of weeks. This weekend in Ft.Lauderdale it's all sold out. Even the 9am shows.

I just got back from a 2 week trip to Bangkok. I needed a few more miles to qualify for my airline status and the weather here in Ft.Lauderdale was awful for a couple of weeks. So started checking fares and got a $750.00 to Hong Kong on American and then used miles for Hong Kong - Bangkok. One of the better flights I have had. On-time, good service, smooth flight. I arrived in Bangkok at 10pm, so that gave me time to head over to Soi Twilight to see what was going on. A couple of the bars stay open till about 3am. I didn't stay at the apartment I usually use. A last minute trip and when I called the owner about using it, he said he was staying there a couple of weeks doing a little upkeep. He was willing to let me have it for 1 week, but I found a great senior rate at the Courtyard by Marriott. $65.00 all in a night. With my gold status, I got free buffet breakfast and lounge access which had enough food to make a decent dinner. I didn't spent a dime on food this trip. I've spent about 5 months in Bangkok this year. I hang out mostly at Hot Male and am friends with a lot of the boys there. I sent a text when I got to airport I was in town and would stop by in a couple of hours. Word got around. I arrived and everybody came by to say hi. My usual drink was waiting for me by the time I got to my favorite bar stool. But in the end, it's still about making money for the boys. Several were trying to get me to take them to my hotel. Not going to happen tonight. It's just after midnight and I've been up for 30 hours. I stayed till 2:30 or so, then back to hotel. The weather is good this time of the year over there. But they were still having a bit of a heat wave. 95 days upper 70's nights, but humidity was way down. Because I go so often, I'm sort of over sightseeing. So I spend most days by the pool. Then late afternoon nap to get me thru the night. I wasn't craving sex the first couple of days, so just hung out with my friends at Hot Male. I went to a couple of shows during my stay. Even though it's not sex just hanging out. The boys are very touchy, freely . At my age, that works. I saw the show at Hot Male first. I have some close Vietnamese friends that work there, that sit with me during the shows. Getting into the high season, bigger crowds and a little more nudity than I have seen this past year. On my trips in the past, I have seen this boy that works at Bonney Massage, just a couple doors down from my bar stool. He is very hot and I figured very straight. I just wanted to see him naked, the massage would be a plus. Well one night we both arrived on the street at the same time and bumped into each other. Exchanging smiles, it gave me an opening. Said I have seen him where he works and would like to stop by for a massage some time. He said, slow night stop by. I did. Did I mention, he is hot. Get to room and start getting undressed for ritual shower. I am going really slow as I want to watch him strip. He caught on quick and did a great strip show. The one at the hotel is good size and has a bench in it. That bench sure makes playtime a lot of fun. It's Christmas time in Bangkok. I've been there a few times at this time of the year. Even though it's a Buddist country, they have really discovered the commercial side of the holidays. The western tourist spend a lot of money. The shopping centers and especially the larger hotels, have really gotten into the decorations. It is 10 times more decorated than I have seen in the past. This is the first pic I have posted. I've seen many people do the sideway pic but the figure it out. Not me. Had a great trip. Short but met up with some new and old friends. I head back in Feb. will have the apartment back and will be staying a few months. Have been doing 30 day trips, so will be interesting.

Now that I have an unlocked IPhone 6 and spending 5 months in Bangkok, I have been looking at these internet packages. My last 2 trips were short, but I got the 79 baht 1 week high speed that worked great. But I arrive in Feb for 3 months and will be looking at what you have. I also use ais. Curious.....I read on a lot of blogs that True is the best, yet I have been happy with ais, and most of my Thai friends use ais and say they like it better. I don't have a clue which is better, but I'm happy with what I have.

When I arrived on Dec 7, at 10pm, they had 8 premium lanes open. I have never seen more than 4 open at 1 time. i was able to walk right up to agent. My best arrival ever. Luggage waiting, and taxi to Silom 275.
