TMax reacted to reader in Thailand sees rise in criminal activities by foreigners
    From Pattaya Mail
The Thai government has made it a priority to tackle the notable rise in criminal activities by foreigners, which has negatively impacted the nation’s tourism reputation.
In response, Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin has instructed the Royal Thai Police (RTP) to devise strategies and enforce measures to surveil and apprehend foreign lawbreakers.
The RTP recently convened meetings to strategize and execute initiatives against foreign offenders, with a focus on the Phuket Provincial Police Region.
Since October 1st, 2023, police efforts have led to 614 arrests for a variety of crimes, including illegal employment and offenses related to sex.
Addressing crimes committed by foreigners is of paramount importance to the Royal Thai Police, with significant cases being referred to the Immigration Bureau for potential visa cancellation.
Furthermore, comprehensive operations have been launched to eradicate such criminal activities, aiming to refurbish the tourism sector’s image and bolster the security perception among visitors. (NNT)

Two Filipino transgender individuals were indicted on assault charges in Pathumwan district this afternoon, for alleged involvement, with others, in the attack on six Thai transgender people at a Sukhumvit food stop on March 4, said Pol Maj-Gen Witthawat Chinkham, commander of the 5th division of Metropolitan Police Bureau.
He said that police are looking for a third Filipino, who is also wanted on an assault charge and is believed to still be in the country.
Most Filipino transgender people who were allegedly involved are reported to have left for the Philippines.
In a separate case, Witthawat said that one Filipino was allegedly assaulted by a Thai national, identified as “Champ”, who has been released on bail, adding that the Filipino victim did not want to pursue the case in court, but would prefer to settle the case directly with the alleged assailant.
Witthawat also said that the victim has not yet stated the amount compensation he wants from his alleged assailant, adding that the police will try to contact six Thai transgender people who were allegedly attacked by their Filipino counterparts on March 4th, to ask whether they would like to settle their cases out of court as well.
Regarding the Filipinos who have already left Thailand, Pol Maj-Gen Witthawat admitted that he does not know whether any or all of them were involved in the assault.
Regarding a complaint filed with Lumpini police yesterday, claiming that some of the Filipinos had stolen a handbag and a gold necklace, Witthawat said that it is still unclear whether the valuables were stolen or were just lost during the scuffle.
Regarding the March 4 incident, the police commander said that the case had been settled among those involved, but the issue intensified because one of the Thais posted on social media urging members of the LGBTQ+ community to rally at a Sukhumvit hotel, reportedly to “protect the dignity” of Thai LGBTQ+ people.
He said he would invite the social media poster for a discussion and to inform them that the incident was not a conflict between Thai and Filipino nationals, but between private individuals, adding that he has already explained this to the Philippine ambassador to Thailand.
Witthawat said any allegation that some Filipino transgender people are involved in the sex trade in Bangkok is groundless. He also refuted the allegation that some Thai brokers had arranged for tourist visas for the Filipinos to come to Thailand for 20-30 days at a time to work, maintaining that there is no need for visas for ASEAN nationals to visit Thailand.

BANGKOK, March 5 (TNA) – Thai transgender women gathered in Bangkok downtown last night to reclaim dignity for their peers following an incident where four Thai transgender women were allegedly assaulted by a group of 20 Filipino transgender women.
A thousand of Thai transgender women gathered outside a hotel in Soi Sukhumvit 11 where the Filipino transgender women involving in the brawl were staying.
According to a victim’s friend, the incident occurred around 5 a.m. on Monday outside a restaurant near the BTS Nana Station. They encountered a group of Filipino transgender women with whom they had a previous conflict. A verbal exchange ensued before turning physical outside the restaurant.
The Filipino group reportedly consisted of around 20 people, while only four Thai transgender women were present, resulting in injuries to the latter.
The incident was later shared on social media by Filipino transgender women, causing Thai transgenders to feel humiliated. This created a significant uproar among Thai transgender community. In response, they gathered at a hotel where the Filipino transgender women involved in the case resided, hoping to resolve the issue and reclaim their dignity.
Around 10 p.m., police deployed forces to maintain order at the gathering point in Soi Sukhumvit 11 to prevent further escalation and escorted three Filipino transgender women for questioning at the Lumpini Police Station.
Shortly after, about 100 transgender women expressed solidarity with their peers, gathering outside the police station to monitor developments in the case.
Thai transgender women, claiming to be victims, also provided statements to the police.
Pol. Col. Yingyos Suwanno, chief of Lumpini Police Station emphasized fairness in their investigation for both parties. Once the culprits are identified, they will be summoned for further questioning. Authorities will also scrutinize the purpose of entry into Thailand for foreign nationals involved.

I know this is late but I went to all three last year so can give a brief overview.
    - Independence: The first time you go they have you meet on a street corner outside a metro station. I know that sounds sort-of sketchy but it's fine. The guy will show-up and approach you and ask if you're [your name]. He then walks you back to the shop which is down a dark alley (again, I know that sounds strange, but it's Japan so is fine) roughly a block and a half away. If you go a second or subsequent time you can just go straight to the place and not deal with the pick-up. The guys are only vaguely like what they appear in the photos, by which I mean the photos were not merely smoothed but there was some very creative lighting and - frankly- amazing work by a skilled photographer. No complaints at all by me, just for your awareness. The interior of the shop is the cleanest of them all.
    - DG: This one doesn't have en suite showers so you are taken to the room, the guy comes in, you get undressed, then he looks out the door to make sure the hallway is clear and you go to the shower at the end of the hall. Then back again after. Only went here once. The guy was exactly how he appeared in the photo absent minor blemishes (i.e. acne). This is also a studio apparently; if you Google the Kanji character name of a guy there's a chance you might find a movie he's been in. They have a small, but multi-story, building and it appears - though I'm not entirely sure - that the guys are actually working in their call center handling customer service questions (for their video websites) when they're not with a client. At least, when I went there, I entered the wrong floor and walked into what looked like a call center, thought I was in the wrong place, but one of the guys immediately jumped up and politely took me to a room on the next floor up, got me settled, asked who I was there to see, and then went and brought him in.
    - TK: I went there twice and saw two different guys. In both cases, the guys were actually better-looking in person than their photos on the website, by quite a bit. Almost as if they did the opposite as what Independence did and ugo-ed them up. This is probably the most run-down -- in terms of facility -- of the three but not awful or anything.
All three had condoms on-site, though they were One Size Fits Small, so you might prefer to bring your own. It seems clear that bare is not an option.

    From Pattaya News

At 3:50 PM, on March 16th, 2024, Chalong police officers captured two New Zealand nationals who allegedly refused to pull over for a traffic offense, evaded police arrest, and were later accused of assaulting an officer who pursued them in Mueang, Phuket.
According to the police report, Chalong patrol police were performing their regular duty on Chaofa East Road, in front of the Chalong police station. Two foreigners on motorbikes did not follow the traffic laws, not riding close to the left side of the road and riding at high speed in a community area, according to Chalong police.
The police on duty asked for cooperation from them to stop their motorbikes. However, the two violators then allegedly attempted to flee from the police.
After the police pursuit, the two foreigners were infuriated and allegedly attacked the police while having the incident recorded by the police. The situation escalated as the foreigners allegedly attempted to snatch the officers’ firearm causing the gun to fire once, nobody was injured, according to the police.
The police were able to forcibly apprehend them shortly after and escorted them to Chalong police station for further legal processing.
The two suspects were publicly identified as Mr. Hamish Day, a 36-year-old New Zealand national, and Mr. Oscar Mattson Day, a 38-year-old New Zealand national.
They were facing harsh legal charges for conspiring to physically assault police officers and other related charges. As of press time both men remain in police custody and have not released any statements to explain the incident.

UPDATE from Pattaya News / TPN:
General Surachet has informed the press that he has instructed Major General Songprod Sirisukkha, the Immigration Region 6 Commander, to cancel the visas of the two New Zealand men in question and prohibit their entry into Thailand in the future. The Chalong Police Chief, Colonel Eakkarat Plaiduang, revealed that these two individuals are currently being taken to the Phuket Provincial Court today (March 18th).
The two suspects are facing charges related to robbery, assaulting or resisting an officer on duty, and driving without a valid license. Despite allegedly attempting to bribe the police to avoid further charges, their efforts were unsuccessful.
Additionally, the New Zealand embassy has been notified of the situation.
TPN media notes that even if the two suspect’s visas are cancelled and they are blacklisted, they would still face the court process and their legal charges under a so-called suspect visa, which only allows them to conduct court hearings and legal matters. Thai police are reportedly recommending to the court that the suspects are not granted bail, as based on their high-profile incident they would be a potential flight risk.
Meanwhile, the millionaire parents of the two suspects, who are brothers, have spoken to the New Zealand press about the situation, which you can read here. In brief, they stated they were shocked by the situation, had obtained the services of a lawyer, and described the suspects as “Just two kids on vacation”, stressing that both men had families and children of their own who were deeply concerned about them.

TMax reacted to macaroni21 in Russian “kicking” suspect surrenders to Pha-ngan island police
There are two possible dynamics at work here.
The first is the possibility that Phuket is suffering from foreigner fatigue. Large numbers, with the usual percentage behaving disrespectfully (note that I am not saying they are any more boorish than usual or any more rowdy than Thais themselves can be) tend to induce a certain heightened sensitivity among locals. If there are unusually large numbers of Russians staying longer than usual, the fatigue may be particularly directed at them.
The second, and more likely, dynamic would be one where one news story "begets" another, similar one. For example,  a kicking story by itself may not be newsworthy and in other times an editor may shunt it aside, but when it follows in quick succession another story of foreigner being boorish to Thais, then it becomes more newsworthy.

A Russian woman surrenders to police on Pha-ngan Island today, after a Thai woman, who is eight months pregnant, had reported that the Russian kicked and injured her.
The Russian reportedly confessed to the assault. The Thai woman claimed that the Russian came to the shop she owns and refused to remove her shoes before entering, as requested.
The Russian then allegedly yelled and used abusive language. When informed that she was not welcome and on being asked to leave, she allegedly kicked the pregnant owner and departed.
The pregnant woman sought medical attention before filing a complaint.
Several social media platforms reported the incident, with many commentators criticising the Russian.
In the past few weeks, there have been a number of incidents reported involving foreign tourists assaulting Thais in various provinces, especially in Phuket.

From the National Library of Medicine / National Institutes of Health
    Abstract
Background: The scientific literature on multiple orgasm in males is small. There is little consensus on a definition, and significant controversy about whether multiple orgasm is a unitary experience.
Aims: This study has 2 goals: (i) describing the experience of male multiple orgasm; (ii) investigating whether there are different profiles of multiple orgasm in men.
Methods: Data from a culturally diverse online convenience sample of 122 men reporting multiple orgasm were collected. Data reduction analyses were conducted using principal components analysis (PCA) on 13 variables of interest derived from theory and the existing literature. A K-means cluster analysis followed, from which a 4-cluster solution was retained.
Results: While the range of reported orgasms varied from 2 to 30, the majority (79.5%, N = 97) of participants experienced between 2 and 4 orgasms separated by a specific time interval during which further stimulation was required to achieve another orgasm. Most participants reported maintaining their erections throughout and ejaculating with every orgasm. Age was not a significant correlate of the multiple orgasm experience which occurred more frequently in a dyadic context. Four different profiles of multiorgasmic men were described.
Strengths & limitations: This study constitutes a rare attempt to collect systematic self-report data concerning the experience of multiple orgasm in a relatively large sample. Limitations include the lack of validated measures, memory bias associated with self-reported data and retrospective designs, the lack of a control group and of physiological measurement.
Conclusion: Our study suggests that multiple orgasm in men is not a unitary phenomenon and sets the stage for future self-report and laboratory study.
