  1. Great tips. I'm guilty as charged for slamming taxi doors. The taxi drivers in Medellin hate it. Don't be like me. I've visited Colombia (Bogota, Medellin, Cartagena, Santa Marta, Bucaramanga & Cucuta) and worked in Medellin on and off in the last two years. Here are my 2 cents. Places to stay: Poblado is the most popular place to stay for tourists, but overpriced, sometimes problems to take guests to your room and you need a taxi for everything. I would stay in Laureles - Estadio. You can easily walk around, it's safe and has plenty of good & cheap restaurants and bars. If you want the local experience, you can stay in San Bernardo, Belen. It feels like a village in the big city. Very cheap, safe, still close to everything but don't expect to hear a word of english or see another tourist. Going out: You should visit bar chiquita at least once, just for the decoration (and go to the toilets!). Industry club is the place to be for young gay guys. There's 'barra libre' every friday. The best way to pick up guys is to go with a small group of friends, it makes it easier to talk to other guys that you fancy. Collect whatsapp numbers (you need whatsapp, they all use it) and meet the next day when they are sober (and you as well). Things to do with your friend du jour: they all love parque norte. It's not disneyland, but it's good for a couple hours of old-fashioned fun. Shopping in centro is also rewarding if you want to buy cheap clothes (the guys love cheap clothes) or designer clothes at a fraction of the price (and quality) of Poblado shopping centers. Hiking in Parque Arvi is a great pastime. They love it because it's cold (take an extra sweater and don't forget your umbrella). The metrocable ride gives you an amazing view over the city & hills. You will probably be alone with your friend in the cabin, but don't forget that there's a security camera (the guards had a great laugh with my friend recording a tiktok with him twerking). Outside of Medellin: Barbosa is a colonial pueblo one hour by bus from Medellin, surrounded by hills and waterfalls and off the beaten path. Great for hiking and swimming. You can rent a cheap finca and have a great stay / party with a bunch of friends. On the way back, you can stop at parque de las aguas and have fun on the water slides.
  2. In Medellin and Bogota, sweating in hot dance clubs and no-one took their shirt off. In Bogota I gave my "date" 50 peso to take his off for an hour of dancing,.... lots of people stared and just a few other men shed their shirts...
  3. Agreed. It is easy to overlook the fact that inter-city flights in Colombia are cheap and rarely longer than 1 hour. There is a core groupof escorts that move between cities regularly (Bogotá - Medellín - Cartagena - Cali - Bucaramanga - Pereira). So yeah, many of the ads from the pros are just fishing for the next best work location. I know one poster who generally has 3 ad running concurrently in 3 cities (tattoos down torso to his thigh with the bubble butt) does exactly this technique. If you read each ad carefully, he is promoting "video" calls with the option to arrange something in person. There are other escorts mentioned here on this site that also take the same approach.
  4. Cali: 18-28 Juin Bogota: 28 Juin -03 July Rio: 04-24 July SP: 24 July - 10 August My JFK-CLO and BOG-GIG flights are both with Avianca in economy L. For some reason, business is not on sale and with L fare I can choose biz seats. They are narrow bodies so I don’t expect too much. Let’s wait and see if I get bumped back to Y seats. 20 days in Rio and 17 in SP seem pretty long. But it’s my first time, so I want to pace myself gently. Maybe I’ll add a stopover in between. Any suggestions? Better avoid long flights within Brazil. Bus trip preferred. Thx.
  5. A little off topic. I was in Colombia Medellin and Bogota. Most rentmen did not seem to know about prep; and the few that did said it was too expensive to get it. No one I chatted with had ever said they were tested. All seemed to think they would not get it. Only 2 or 3 out of 15 said anything about a condom when we had sex. The bottoms were comfortable with me breeding them. The real professionals just ask for more money for Bareback. No free man hookup wanted a condom, top or bottom. I went tested clean to Colombia on prep and antibiotic prophylactic. I will get tested Thursday for my post visit.
  6. I spent 35 days in Medellin and Bogota March and April. I mostly had a longterm companion. I was never asked for ID. some hotels/airbnbs I registered him. some I did not. I also had about 15 other men. no problems anywhere I was, but I did not ask them to check their id. in retrospect maybe not so safe. But most of my guests were during the day.....
  7. I'm an android user, and there are multiple android apps to spoof the GPS (although Grindr actvely tries to defeat them). You might try the info on https://drfone.wondershare.com/virtual-location/fake-gps-ios.html for Iphone. I spoofed GPS on grindr before I went to Medellin /Bogota, changed my profile to Spanish and indicated I was looking a paid companion who would be my 24 hr guide; hopefully someone who spoke some English. I received multiple offers for "longtime" companions. I settled on a beautiful 24 yro man who said he was trying to learn English (not really ). I met him the morning after I arrived in Medellin (no problems anywhere bringing back a companion as long as they are over 18 (with ID if they look young)), He was a pretty good companion (although we both got frustrated with google translate) and had fun touring and in bed. I was with him for ~30 days (although I had plenty of other hookups as well). I was his first foreigner and he wants me to come back and is happy if I share his info for other (nice) foreigners. He would love to find a sugar daddy, and treats you pretty damn good, being honest and loving. We are friends now and I will hook up with him again when I go again. If anyone wants more info on him, send me a private mail. I mean to write a review of my 35 days in Medellin and Bogota (march) but have yet to get it done.
  8. I'm flying via Toronto. 6 hour flight to Bogota. My friend Carlos is flying in from Bucaramanga.
  9. I spend a day walking around in Bogota and it was what I needed to realize what’s missing for me in São Paulo: the history. Just like LA, things are two dimensional, lacking depth. It might not be a problem for people from younger civilizations though. Again, it’s just me. Some people might hate places with too much residue. Lol.
  10. Good catch; I hope it’s been done and is moot. Though there may be worse things than São Paulo Pride Weekend. Or needing to fill an accommodations gap of a few weeks in Brazil rather than losing more than the Colombia return flight and possibly leaving money on the table for Cali and Bogotá accommodations. This is an example of where attention to detail in posting is important. The revision had mentioned “ditching Colombia” and moving up Brazil, increasing Brazil to two months, when it appears the original itinerary holds with Colombia (Cali?) this Saturday and then back to Brazil July4-Aug10. Otherwise, Brazil 2 months additively would not be met by a stay merely from May25 to now. This revision would have necessitated Yellow Fever inoculation no later than June7 if done in Brazil. One of us may have caught it earlier, had it been clear. But “ditching” is not the same as tacking on more weeks elsewhere at the front end. Foreign nationals can access it in Brazil though it could be a crapshoot requiring CPF, and an internationally recognized regimen, as opposed to an apparent domestic version that does not yield the yellow-coloured certificate or may be exclusively digital and inadequate for boarding to Colombia. Since there are only 4(?) origin countries I am pretty sure I would have missed this detail myself had I planned some years ago a trip to Brazil that included Colombia immediately subsequent to Brazil. I fly from Colombia through Panama this year and expect I may be asked to produce it for the first time ever, though I believe it’s not needed for less than 6 hours airside at Tocumen or perhaps just remaining airside even longer and not entering the country through airport border control.
  11. @Latbear4blk I agree - the local spanish spoken in Medellín is super colorful and uses a lot of expressions and word-use exclusive to the region. I too am continually asking people to repeat words and sayings and am still learning to speak like a Paisa (even after 6 years of regular trips). Regarding the MeetUps, others may be interested in these resources Colombia language exchange nights. https://www.meetup.com/online-english-spanish-language-exchange-co/events/286395737/ Medellin Gringo Tuesday (El Poblado) https://www.eventbrite.com/e/gringo-tuesdays-language-exchange-tickets-304935037907 The grand daddy of them all, Bogotá's Gringo Tuesday -- this is the best attended and most fun -- everyone is welcome. https://www.tripadvisor.ca/Attraction_Review-g294074-d8592083-Reviews-Gringo_Tuesdays-Bogota.html https://www.cosmopolitan.com/lifestyle/news/a60672/gringo-tuesdays-colombia-tiffany-kohl/
  12. Hi All, I'll be visiting at the end of January. I read through the 2017 posts, and would appreciate general updates from recent visitors regarding what's recommended and what's not. Also, more specifically: 1) Any Bogota equivalents for Medellin's Club Tobi and Fercho Masajes? 2) Gloryhole cabinas like Boys Online - which ones are better in terms of action and safe location? 3) Any safer places for cruising? 4) What's the going rate for an encounter? for a sex motel? Thx (-:
  13. Planning my next trip to the wonderful Latin America. Haven't been to either Panama City or Bogota, but have always heard nice things about them in terms of scenery, guys, and things to do. The airfare to either city varies by about $100. Hotel cost looks pretty much the same. Not sure about food cost, transportation, and other stuff. What are your thoughts and suggestions? Any things to watch out for? Surprisingly, I don't find many posts about Panama City, and as for Bogota, it goes up and down.
  14. Bogota has the clearest Spanish for me.....I laugh when people say they want to learn Spanish in Cuba, lmao
  15. There are several Facebook groups for exactly this purpose: to organize meetups between Spanish and English speakers looking to practice their learning in the other's language. This can be managed online through video to practice before you arrive, and to also become acquainted with the local accent. I find it easy to follow, and I recognize that I spend a lot of time there, however I do not recall finding the accent challenging. In Colombia specifically you will find regular Meetups (as in the website) for foreigners to practice their Spanish. I have been to events in Bogota (with a Brazilian friend - he has a blast) and Medellin. It's a nice way to connect with both locals and meet other ex-pats and digital nomads, of which there are many in Colombia. I would also suggest looking at the many language schools locally that offer classes for every level and at a cost that is very reasonable by North American standards (about $10 per class).
  16. I will be spending just one day in Bogota and would be very appreciative of any leads to help me avoid wasting the opportunity. I've read as much as is available here but still don't feel confident what is the surest way to find me a proper top in such a small opening. I did that on purpose. I've checked miileroticos but so far those guys don't want to commit to anything that isn't immediate... Tips would be appreciated. Condescension not as much. Thanks, Dem
  17. https://thepointsguy.com/2017/12/deal-alert-biz-south-america-682/ Just booked BOS - BOG return in May for USD 935.56 BF booked BOS - BOG - IAD for USD 1,068 Sales fares still available - just checked. Thought it is a pretty good deal.
  18. I had been in colombia for two weeks in December 2017. Here are some brief thoughts on Medellin and Bogota. Medellin: wonderful place, nice weather (always sunny and spring-like), safe (though I never walked after 9pm in the center). Grinder is the way to go. I got dozens messages/taps every day and it seems half of the contacts in Grinder is possible to play. Also the people here are warm, beautiful and very diverse (white, latino, muscle, twinks...). Park bolivar and Metro station Park berrio are excellent offline cruising spots. I do not find Club Tobi interesting though. Generally speaking hotel guest admission is not a problem with caution and respect. The going price seems to be 50 mil to 10 mil pesos for an encounter but it certainly can be negotiated. I also had a blast MMF threesome. Taxi and uber are both reliable, cheap and professional (Taxi by meter). Bogota: I only stayed chapinero for a few days. It is a metropolitan city. Grinder is still working here, but not as effective as Medellin. It is a bit cold and raining occasionally during December. I am not too impressed by Bogota, but I only stayed for a short time. Conclusion: Medelline is a very very nice place to see and play. To my personal experience, I would rank Medellin above Mexico and Cuba.
  19. Re-reading this thread and following all of yesterday's drama.... For the naysayers, the location of this encounter is very questionable. This street is pedestrian-only and has a heavy police presence. Not a good encounter spot in El Poblado if you do not want to attract attention (Angelo is much taller than your average Colombian). Angelo is a known escort that does the circuit, I have seen his ad in Bogotá, Medellín and Calí and he does the Mexican circuit as well (plenty of Colombian escorts do stints in Mexico City). So that made sense to me until... The hotel named is not a "love motel" but rather a low-cost hotel that caters to backpackers and budget-travellers (including families). So that is questionable, when there is a love motel located in nearby Castropol, so I appreciate @Slvkguy detective work here. Angelo would have known the difference. For the record, I do not offer contact numbers or details about my encounters. So do not waste your time with DM's folks. Going forward I going to ignore these types of requests.
  20. So this being 2022 and life being crazy, I find myself returning to Medellin next week to cover off some business. Have a couple of days in Bogotá for a procedure but should be in Medellin on Friday for business. Any members around that want to meet up? I will buy the first round at Donde Aquellos.
  21. I went to Colombia this march for 2 weeks and as it was my first trip there and i asked a few people a lot of advice I feel that I shhould share a bit about the trip The trip was a week in Bogota and a week in Cartagena I started in Bogota and booked a hotel in chapinero which seemed like the right place lots of gay nightlife and a lot of escorts around. Bogota is a great city people are friendly and its very easy to find boys there. I speak no spanish and it seemed like noone spoke much english aside from a few people at some of the tourist attractions. That makes it harder as a solo traveler I think if i was travelling with a likeminded friend i would have had a blast in bogota. The boys I ended up taking to the hotel I met online I am not a big nightife fan and prefer a good fuck and a dinner to a night boozing. There were tons of goodlooking boys and they were eager to meet up. Making plans for several days ahead turned out to be almost impossible prehaps its a language or culture thing but i found it was better to look for the boy when you needed him and take who was available. All chat is on whatsapp and google translate was all i used and it worked well. Spent the second week in Cartagena where there were quite few rentboys on the sites and none in my flavour bracket ( twinks) but with the help of a spanish speaking forum member i had set up my grindr profile and soon i had a lot of messages and I ended up going out with a nice dark student while was there i had booked a cheap hotel and had no problems bringing him there Cartagena is a lovely town the old town is beautiful and the food in the resturants is great and reasonably priced I really enjoyed the city and prehaps its also because i had a great 18 at my side there who spoke a good deal of english which made it all a lot more fun. Generally a lot more people spoke english in Cartagena so it was easier to communicate. So all in all a great trip a little more hassle finding boys than in thailand but great sex with very passionate lovers even when you are paying
  22. Hello dear horny travelers, I know this has been asked probably a million times and I have read through most posts here. But I can’t help feeling there must be something I missed. I’ll try to summarize a bit based on my limited experience and please feel free to throw in your thoughts: 1. USA: I have always been extremely lucky in New Orleans. I was there again in December and I was drilled 3 to 4 times a day by 8 to 10 inches everyday for a whole week. Almost all free grindr encounters. One boy did ask for Uber and one ‘borrowed’ 20 dollars. I had some luck in Dallas too, but those big Afro men mostly just wanted to suck me to cum. I’m not talking about one or two guys here. I kept on asking around if there was some culty stuff about Asian cum. Still quite perplexed. Any other hot spots in the US? 2. Mexico: travelled through Mex many times and it’s a big dick desert. Very horny guys, some very cute, some very macho, but not xxl. 3. Panama: Only a 3 days stay and mostly fat guys on Grindr. 4. Dominic Republic: I was only been to SD and I stayed in the intercon. Maybe it was the area, didn’t have any valid candidates on Grindr. Went to el conde for one afternoon and didn’t meet any local. I was kept busy by a Venezuelan Afro boy and a Colombian hair dresser, which reduced my contacts to the locals. And most importantly, I didn’t know about Manny! I am planning a trip to SD in Juin and I did contact Manny today. He seemed to be busy and was not very responsive. 5. Puerto Rico: mostly fat! 6. Cuba: well, it’s cuba. Hasta la victoria para siempre! 7. Colombia: I had repeated visits to Bogota, Medellin, Cali and Cartagena. So far I had most luck in Cali. I’m going back in Juin. Is there any other cities where xxl boys reside? 8. Ecuador: I was only in Quito and most guys I met were mediocre, with the exception of one baby-face huge hung. He’s so exotic. Asian looking with an Afro dick! 9. Pero: Visited 3 cities. Catastrophic. Fortunately there were some Venezuelan boys. Brazil really doesn’t need any more info in this forum. Strangely I’ve never been there. I maybe I’m saving it for my later days, when I come wiser. I have a PR status in Portugal and my limited contact with Brazilian boys there doesn’t paint them a very good color. Maybe you need to be not fluent in português to enjoy them. Maybe it’s just me. How are the smaller cities in these countries? Any gold mine? How are Costa Rica, Jamaica, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolívia, Chile and Argentina? Any thoughts? Big thanks and hugs!
  23. At Loma Verde they charge $25 for each visitor. I there no place in Medellin that doesn't charge? I stayed at one in Cartagena and in Bogota.....
  24. After my previous trip was cancelled due to the pandemic, I’m finally able to be visit Colombia. This new thread will be a semi blog with observations and tips from this current trip to Medellin and Bogota.
  25. Is there a link here I didn't find? Do they read every post (and therefore also this one)? I humbly suggest organizing here Latin America the same way Asia is organized: by countries. Brazil, Colombia and DR - each deserve a forum of its own, for sure. The rest could also be independant (just like the minor Asian destinations), or bunched together. There is also a rational for having within the big countries forums a city division: RdJ, SP, Meddelin, Bogota. Another point: I'm guessing I'm not the only one getting mixed up between the regular forum and the "for members only" one. It was set up for XXX items, but most of the threads there don't include them. Can anything be done to simplify and improve? Thanks. (-:
