Porto Alegre/Rio/Sao Paulo or more specifically Mezziniu-Bar Mixx/Meo Mundo-117/ and Lagoa! For the first time I have already pre-booked all my overnights, and my afternoon apartment/hotel visits for the entire trip! lol That leaves 5:00 to 9:00 pm each night for meeting new guys at the saunas or at the hustler bar in Porto Alegre. Most of the guys are on Facebook so i use that to stay in touch and set up the "dates". This way if any given night at one of the saunas is a bust, I still have someone to go to dinner with and stay overnight. I find these less then 2 week trips work better for me. The Brazilian economy is still not great, and I have received messages from 4 different guys who I didn't know who obviously are cruising their friends profiles looking for business. I also received messages from 3 guys who I have not seen in 3+ years who all of the sudden want to know when I am coming back and can we meet up! All of these guys have regular jobs but are at or just above minimum wage so they need and want to make extra money. One guy who I saw a lot in 2007 - 2009 and at the time was doing a lot of porn films, now works as a security guard from Noon to midnight. So he messages me and says that he can make it to my apartment in Ipanema by 12:30 a.m. and he will stay the night and leave at noon the next day for his work. The dollar vs the Brazilian Real is the best it has been in I think 3+years. Today it is $2.66 to 1.00 american dollar. So a programma in the sauna for an hour will cost approximately $36.50 U.S. Since I usuallly end up doing more 3 and 4 ways, the saving are substantial! I was called out of the audience to participate in a show with a stripper, They had his body covered in whipped crème while laying on the table and was used to hide poker chips. I had to find them only using my tongue!! I did find them after searching his ass and balls among other places! He was very sexy and had a very nice ass and dick! Guest tomcal Posted December 23, 2014 Share Posted December 23, 2014 I have really missed the demise of hustler bars, Stellas in NYC, Numbers in L.A., Corujinhas in Rio and many others. I really enjoyed them and like being able to cruise a bar looking for someone to meet up with. Bar Mixx in Porto Alegre as I have mentioned in the past is one of the last in the world, with the other places being Prague and Madrid. While all the guys in P.A. have smart phones, the attempts so far to use different apps and/or sites to find customers there has not gone over well. The "cousins" who I have posted before on here, both showed me a site they were on there, and they said they got very few customers so they kept going to the sauna. This brings me back to Bar Mixx. It is open Weds - Sunday. with Thursday and Sunday nights being the slowest, but you can find from 10 to 30 guys working there. the busiest time is from 10:30p.m. to 12:30a.m. after that guys go to one of the other late night clubs like Indescretus. They have 3 "bedrooms" in the back of the bar that rent for around $15.00 U.S. for an hour. Normally the guys you meet at Bar Mixx are dressed a little "too rough" to get them in your hotel, so the bedrooms in the bar are a good alternative. I have always had fun there, met some great guys and have had a lot of fun. The owner of Bar Mixx is gay and very helpful if you have a question about a guy u are interested in. They usually have a stripper and drag shows on Friday and Saturday nights. below are some pics of the bar. It is like a renovated older house. with several connecting rooms. in the last pic, that is a room of the entrance which is not as loud as the bar area and you can sit and negotiate with the guy of your choice. I have never seen or heard of a hustler bar in Rio or Salvador even though there might be one there. There is a "sort of" hustler bar in Sao Paulo. A few years ago, it was a fairly good hustler bar. Due to the popularity of the bar, over the past few years the bar has made many changes. One change that I don't like is the loud "shows" (lots of singing drag queens). One change that I occasionally like is the male strip shows. They are fun to watch. The bar opens late (near midnight). The loud music sometimes makes it difficult and awkward to converse with the garotos. Many of the hustlers are garotos that earlier in the evening were at one of the two rent-boy saunas in Sao Paulo. Therefore, if you go to Bar Fama and also frequent the saunas, there is a fair chance you will recognize some of the hustlers from the saunas. Also, many of the hustlers are the same ones that hustle in the nearby Republic park and/or the several cines that are nearby. The building is small and when there are lots of people there, it can be uncomfortable especially when the loud drag queens do their howling, I mean singing. If you happen to reach an agreement with one of the garotos, there are no rooms to rent on the premises. However, there are several hourly hotels within a short distance of the bar. Or, depending on the situation, and if you feel comfortable with the garoto, you can take him back to your hotel, if your hotel allows visitors. Some nights at the bar are good (lots of garotos) while other nights are awful (dead - fraco). It is similar to how the saunas get "bad" nights and "good" nights. I do not recommend making a special trip to visit this hustler bar - it is too unpredictable (many customers versus very few customers). Each trip to Rio I visit the 3 main rentboys saunas(some years there are more) but Pointe202, Club117 and Meo Mundo are the long term survivors. The last two, maybe 3 years, I have seen Pointe202's business go downhill, and for no reason other then poor management! The location is good! the only rentboy sauna in Copacabana. The facility is much newer /nicer then the other two. It is only two blocks from the subway, But it doesn't get the number of escorts anymore and most of this seems to be tied to "Junior" the owner who was a former sauna boy and someone who should understand the business. Instead, he turned it into his personal nightclub, retail outlet, and afterhours hetero club, and party drug central! with music so loud you have difficulty even saying "Hi" to a guy you might want to meet! I first met him in 2002 when he opened Estacau sauna a few blocks from where pointe202 is now and was still escorting occasionally. I have heard many times that he is difficult to work with and most of the sauna guys don't like him but thought that was just typical gossip. I am friends with a former boyfriend of his who lives in Paris and we have talked about this. When I was there last trip, on a Sunday night, which since Meo Mundo is closed on Sundays, should be busier for them, there were 5 escorts and 4 customers at 8:00pm. there were actually more employees then customers or rentboys! the picture below could have been taken during business hours based on my last visit there!! I hope it changes but I am not hopeful. a partner of Juniors who is a State attorney had a modifying effect on him, but he left the business relationship this past year so every decision is now solely his. Also the escorts I saw working there that night have been around for forever! For the past couple years I have used Hotel.com and been very happy with their site and customer service. I originally made my reservation for January in P.A. about a month ago and with them, you pay when you book, but it is cancelable up to the day before fully refunded. Last night I checked their website and type room I booked(King bed/double occupany/nonsmoking) had dropped $20./nt. I went to cancel my reservation online and rebook, but there was a problem so I called their customer service number and they answered quickly and then cancelled my old reservation and made my new one at the lower price and emailed me the confirmation all within 5 minutes! I am impressed! I didn't have to go through a dozen prompts before finally getting a "live" person. Rio is like NYC for hotel pricing, Porto Alegre is relatively cheap and decent hotels are between $90 - $145 night. with the Sheraton, being the nicest and having the most amenities and is always at the $145 - $250 a night depending on the season. The Mercure hotels, there are three in the area, and the Quality Hotel, are the other ones I would recommend. These 5 hotels are all located in the "Moinjos de Vento" area of Porto Alegre, a very nice upscale neighborhood, full of tree lined streets of shops, sidewalk cafes and restaurants.(and ATM's) Less then 15 minutes from the airport and 12 mins from Mezziniu sauna! The last four trips I have stayed at the Quality Hotel, which is across the park from the Sheraton, and is quiet, great location, and is usually under $100./ night, including breakfast and free wifi. http://www.qualityinn.com/hotel-porto_alegre-brazil-BR084 For those reading this who like to bring guys back for overnights, I have done it at all of these hotels w/o a problem but make sure you book double occupancy when you make your reservation, there is no difference in price and occasionally a over zealous desk clerk will ask or check. The Sheraton has the tightest security of the hotels mentioned with usually 2 security guards in dark suits standing inside the entrance, the others don't they just have the desk clerks, usually one, on duty at night. but none have problems with you bringing someone back, but usually want to sign them in and get their I.D. Although the last time I stayed at the Sheraton I came back on a Saturday night and decided to sleep alone so brought no one back. About 2:00 a.m.(I had gotten back about 1:30 a.m.) I was just going to sleep and the phone rang and it was the front desk and they said " a Mr. Kaio is here, is it ok if we send him up to your room"?well....you know me, always a welcoming person! LOL so I said ok and a few minutes later one of the guys I had seen a number of times who worked at Bar Mixx, knocks on the door. He hadn't seen me but heard from one of the guys at the nightclub "Indescretus", where a lot of the guys go after midnight, that I was in town and he knew which hotels I usually stay so he decided to take a chance and as it turns out the Sheraton was the first one he went to! so I didn't get the undisturbed nights sleep I had intended to, but it was worth it.that's him in the pic below, he works construction and when he's short money will go to Bar Mixx to make some extra, I have known him for about 5 years, he doesn't email, or have a phone, but ALWAYS knows when I am in town somehow! lol Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
