Is it too cold for the beach now? Is it easy to meet new “friends” at the beach, and is it too dangerous to trust such new friends wherever you go to play? At saunas, seems like most programmas are around 100 R$. Is 150R$ reasonable if both of us have a happy ending and maybe have some kink too? For Brazil, do folks use sex hotels rather than pay for play saunas? Are they much more expensive than the costs of a sauna? Maybe less of a bother than to have the boy at a hotel and less of a risk of theft too. I did see posting regarding the Atlantico Hotel and being able to have guests there. If you are really horny, do you find escorts on the grindr, adam4adam, scruff, etc phone apps? Other apps to use? Saw some website listings like rentmen.com too. Given the postings about how late the boys sometimes arrive, if they arrive, are the saunas usually a better choice? I saw postings for a few porn theatres in Cinelandia and Centro. But not much info for the gay scenes in smaller places like Parati, Buzios, Tiradentes, and Belo Horizonte. Seems like most folks not on a business trip are not keen on Sao Paolo. Iguassu might be too far for a brief trip. For food, lots of postings elsewhere about the fruit, steak places, and the like. Any particularly good ones for a gay clientele? Now is pretty much Rios spring since the middle of summer will be December....check the weather forecast for the dates you are looking to travel in the fall....its still summer in the US... Unless you speak Portuguese AND/OR hot, most guys wont be interested in talking to you unless they are tourists as well...is that what you are seeking... "Friends" wont be made on the beach but can be made off Grindr and definitely in the saunas and then you can take them to the beach.... Most of the local Cariocas are not going to be seeking friendships with some older guy from somewhere else on the beach....It doesnt work like that here... It was easier for me to quote the entire thing versus going off each question....I would advise you do some research and definitely think with your BIG head and not your little head based on the questions you have asked....read, read, and read some more since most of what you have asked has been answered over and over and over again.... Kink is not widely known here so you would need to work that out with whoever you decide to hire and they will give you the rate they are comfortable with...I would advise you get a clear understanding before you start doing whatever said kink is so that the price does not change...Going rate has and has been about 100R...give or take who the guy is and what he wants to charge you.... Via the US looks like a Bank Holiday weekend with some availability. If it works I will try finding a place via Ebab BnB site or at the Atl Copa Hotel that some have mentioned. I am a bit confused in that it seems like someone you might meet as a pay for play friend at the beach is not someone to take back to the hotel, but you can trust someone you meet at the sauna to take back with you? I will say that in 17 years of taking guys from the sauna back to the hotel or Apt i have never had a problem! Broken ac units. Broken elevators. Somewhat dirty floors. Shower was cold or scalding hot. Bf was ok but crowded. Saw no older guys with their trophy boys from the night before. However the atl copa was quite cheap via the booking site I used and it is next to a metro station. Beach is a healthy walk away. The airline cleared many Bus Class seats so it freed up coach seats. Arrived and took 2918 bus to Copa. 15R$. A local suggested NOT to take a cab hawker with 3 others for 20 R$ each. Yes, it would have been much faster, but the local guy thought it might not be safe. I had lots of time. Perhaps Brazil was a safer place years ago, but everyone I speak to in Rio warn me to be very very careful here and basically do not trust any strangers for any reason. As for the boys, different people from Europe both Sat night at 117 and Sun night at Pointe said never to take a boy home, and each described separate horror stories. They said, just do your sex at the sauna and leave happy. Also warned about buying drinks for the boys, due to the inflated costs for red Bull, etc. (I think inflated prices have always been true at higher end Clubs.) Sun night Pointe was not busy. I arrived around 1900 hrs. There were less than 10 customers total over the 90 minutes or so that I was there. A few more muscular boys left as I arrived. The boys were not the muscle gods of 117. But no attitude either. The twink boy I had was introduced by a European guy and he was a very eager and fun lover. I was told Pointe had a show with a popular drag queen Sat night. Some better luck on the phone apps: adam4adam seems useless here. Got a few hits and replies from Grindr and scruff. Hornet and planet romeo were less busy. Most wanted to come to the hotel for free or paid sex, but after the advice received, thought it best no to have someone come here. No one was clear about where the sex hotels are in Copa, nor the costs. Some of the twinks would agree to 100 R$ for sex, muscle boys wanted 200-300 and I found out that 2 of them were in porn movies. Always the problem was no place to play or bad timing. Still, no idea where the non sauna gay night life is in Rio. Except for along the beach, many places close by 2100-2200 hrs. Some small bar regular local places can be quite busy, not close to the beach. The beach water in Ipanema is quite cold to me. The beach was quite crowded Sunday with most apparently tanning under an umbrella and many vendors selling food and drinks. The Hippie Fair at Gen Osoria Park was nice. About to head into the city. Big fire last night destroyed the old Palace and National Museum. On the news, seems like this was an allegory for Brazil - the old dowager simply falling apart with no one to help fix it. One in Copacabana, Hotel Vanity, walkable from Cantalago station. Another, Lido Hotel, at the east end of Copacabana closer to Leme beach, walkable from Cardeal Arcoverde station. I think there is one or two in Botafogo and Leblon. In Gloria, the two utilized are Hotel Alameda across from 117 and the pricier Lovetime Hotel a short walk towards Catete. Some news about the Palace / Museum fire. Not sure how it started nor why they could not limit the damage. Perhaps the entire building burned. Entire roof looks gone, but the walls are still up. Quite sad. Separate issue, each am after the bf (which seems reasonable) I have had the trots. Maybe due to overdoing the fruit. The pineapple here is not very acidic and is very tasty. Much better than Hawaian pineapple !! Watermelon tastes different too as do the bananas. Bought some pro biotics. Hope to be fine for lunch soon. The Siquiera Grill food was fine, but the bill came to about 100 R$. Very expensive for Rio. Bringing a sauna guy at home will always be 100% safer than bringing any other stranger at your place. The sauna guys must provide an ID in order to work inside. The last thing they want is to get blacklisted because of a customer who reports a bad behavior. I am not saying that it will be 100% safe as the sauna of course. But you can meet the crazy one (who steals or beats you down) even in Europe or in the US. Speaking about drinks cost... I found the saunas to have the same (if not lower) prices than the bars outside. Not sure about what to be warned about. Do not hook up guys from grindr unless you are proficient with Portuguese.
