Planning a Brazil trip

Recommended Posts

Finally I m planning a trip to Brazil. I must admit it's because of this forum I got to know about Brazil and its beauties.

Yes I ll be visiting Saunas in Rio and SP..but I was also exploring Rio on Grindr by using fake GPS.. and can see many GPs near Copacabana. Can anyone suggest if it will be a safe thing to bring an escort to my hotel room?

I can not speak portuguese and Spanish. But I have hired escorts to my hotel room in Thailand, Dubai, Germany and India. (So not a complete newbie)

Your question has been addressed in previous threads here.  Since this is your first visit and you are not conversant in Espanol or Brasilian Portuguese, it would be fine to invite escorts to your hotel room provided the hotel allows outside guests.  You might want to register a room for two; that way it might also be easier.

I'll let others chime in here-- those who've visited a lot since 2011.

In Rio I stayed in the once hot Atlantico Copacabana during the times that one's having guests was quite simple, for the boys registered prior to their visits; the desk personnel would ring our rooms once the guest/s departed to inquire about our safety.  In Sao Paulo I had guests at the non defunct apartment hotel (which was a lovely venue) and only a block or two away from the Avenida Paulista.  My guests came and went without having to register; beautiful experiences and fun were immensely enjoyed.

ENJOY "Mother Brazil" and "ALL" that she has to offer,  and try NOT to become too overwhelmed!  I know I am still in  and hope to return within a year or so!

This question has been asked and answered HUNDREDS of times....Play at your own risk...It also depends on who you are, how you look and how stupid you come across..Just like everywhere, professional guys can smell an easy mark/thirsty guy who is not being smart....

Think with your big head and not your little head...use your best judgement....

If you feel a vibe or a connection, go for it...if there appears to be any signs of danger, don't do it...

It has been hard for me to get some of the boys in the hotels when I used to stay in them..the whiter they were/appeared, the less issues I had...

I no longer stay in hotels so I can do whatever I want...

Yes i understand this question has been asked before but after looking at so many GPs on Grindr i got confused..moreover i dont speak Portuguese which i think may create some trouble.

When i see Brazil travel videos; I find it very much like India (both developing nations). But here on this forum, people are suggesting not to carry even a phone in your hand while walking on the streets of Rio. This somewhat scares me and thats why i am in doubt about askin GPs in my room.

Anyways i may opt for english speaking garoto and will try to meet him outside in nearby cafe first. (And with the headline news of Lagoa closing soon..i wont be having another option than hiring GPs thru grindr ;)

Let’s review @Jalwa you don’t know the country; you don’t speak Spanish nor Portuguese; you’re somewhat scared by reports here; but you’re considering taking much poorer strangers to your hotel room.

My strong advice is do not take an escort/GP to your room. Play in the saunas where it is safe.

If you feel a connection with a guy and you simply must take him back to your hotel, ask the management of the sauna and/or other clients whether he is a ‘good guy’. You are much less likely to have a problem if the GP knows that other people know you are going out with him for the night.

At the hotel, assuming you’ve booked a room for 2 people, just register him at Reception. They will check his ID card which will show that he’s of legal age (very important as you don’t want to end up with the Police investigating you if the guy is under-age)

Lastly, the reports here about crime are accurate. You should not display any valuables on the street/beach, especially if you are alone.

I have a friend who looks Brazilian and speaks fluent Portuguese (tho he’s Italian) and he just returned from 2 weeks in Rio, which he has visited many times before. He is an experienced traveller and he does not exaggerate: even he was surprised at the level of street-crime now, in broad daylight in good areas such as Ipanema; he personally witnessed a robbery or mugging each day in Rio. He also told me an interesting story of how a Brazilian friend of his got robbed by the police - they cloned his credit card while interviewing him in a Police station for several hours as a witness to the robbery of his taxi driver!

It may not be as easy as you think to find English speaking GP, either from online or saunas.

I found out that English is NOT widely spoken in Brasil.  On my first visit, I did NOT have problems while at three of the saunas but did encounter difficulty outside.  But, in spite of the language barrier, the locals were patient with me while I attempted to communicate.

Many times I have been mistaken as being a native, and when a local has asked me a question, I've said "no fala Portuguese" with a smile.  The cariocas and I have had a light laugh along with smiles and have continued on our merry way....

...had a gorgeous escort who was introduced to me via his older Italian.  He came to my hotel and to my room at the Atlantico and fucked me into oblivion.  I gave him a favorable tip and left with him to join his friend at Copacabana Beach in front of the Copacabana Palace Hotel.  When we arrived the guy spoke with his amigo; his friend relayed that he did not know why he'd received additional money.  I smiled and thought nothing of it.

There are escorts who have enticing photos and vids at www.netgay.com.br. and who advertise as speaking Ingles.  The major differences between them and the guys at the sauna would be the fee charged.  But remember: keep all valuables out of sight and secure.  Remember where you've hidden items, too.  I write this because I left my good Swiss Army watch in the top portion of the closet at the Atlantico a few years back.  Guess someone enjoyed it after finding while replacing blankets, etc.

GO ON YOUR TRIP AND MAKE THE BETTER OF IT.  Try to alleviate yourself of any preconceived inhibitions, but DO TAKE HEED of all advice you've received.  Before my first trip to Brasil and primarily to Rio (for I aborted it after being there for four days)-- I asked lots of questions at the then www.daddysreviews.com.  Trilingual, the originator of the Brazilian Sauna Scene, and others answered cordially as well as helpfully.  I went and 'd and continue to go for the next ten or more years in a row.   Hope to return one of these days since I, thankfully, am still in reasonably good health.

Bringing an escort to your room will be less risky if you first meet them at the sauna. Still, prior to having them visit your hotel room, make sure you are very clear with what you want and the amount that you will pay for their visit.

There are some GPs that speak English and you can find them at the sauna. I think it is better to look for them in the sauna so that you can gauge how much English they speak. On Grindr, it may look like or they may say that they speak English but likely they are using a translator app or they just speak a few words and phrases.

I've been visiting RJ and SP since 2000. I find it easier to just meet and have fun with the guy at the sauna than go to all the trouble of bringing them to my room. Sure, it's nice to just open the Grinder app and have them over, but the photo you see may not represent how they are in real life and taken in flattering angles. At the sauna, you can see them, touch them and see if there's a chemistry between the two of you. You'll also have more and better selection.

The volume of garoto inventory keeps the price-point stable. That, in turn, reduces the chances of manipulative over-the-top up-sell if you date one off premises. It is his job to take a shot at milking your billfold, beyond the prying eyes and ears of staff, peers, and customers, but he will have a sense of what is ridiculously out of bounds and what you know about fee standards.

It does not make sense to limit your fishing to Grindr when there are now over 200 São Paulo ads and 120 Rio ads on garotocomlocal.com.br

Good advice for ajay1, and any new travelers to Rio. Maybe we could just pin this thread so all newcomers would have easy access to the information.

Maybe we can ask TomCal to update his Top Ten Safety Tips for Brazil with any new and updated tips and pin it to the top of the forum.
