Sometimes you have to broaden the search and get creative.... I've found amazing business class deals into CCU in both Money or miles (Kolkata India) for example and then is a short 2 hour flight into Thailand -Cambodia area.... BKK used to have great fares if you searched, but seems is too popular and haven't found any there in a LONG time.

Make sure it's all correct, renting outside of the US isn't always as direct and honest as you're accustomed to. Lot's of pitfalls and things to watch out in contract re: your responsibilities for repairs and extra charges. In Mexico almost no one gets their deposits back and find themselves fixing stuff that would normally be the landlords job.

Has to do with arrival departure times and the longer distance from Pattaya to the airport vs Silom to the airport..... leaving pattaya to make your flight needs a longer lead time vs leaving Silom....again, depending on flight times. Getting to hotels in Pattaya or Silom isn't a big deal if you're 30 minutes late..... something like that is my mindset 🙄

Agreed, I've FINALLY come to the conclusion that the circus of getting to and fighting the crowds waiting for the cars to arrive and waiting for your car to arrive in the sweltering heat isn't worth the little money you save using the apps.... I've used Mike Pattaya forever without incident to go between airport and pattaya and pattaya and BKK. I usually go to Pattaya first upon arriving because the airport is closer to that side of town than going to pattaya from Silom...... then BKK at the end of the trip because BKK is closer to the airport than Pattaya, if that makes sense 🤷‍♂️

We overlap days in Pattaya and BKK ....

Think of how it would affect those short 50usd flights to nearby countries...... I always notice the amount of taxes on plane tix and think how criminally high they are, sometimes more than the airfare being charged by the airline. It was part of my decision to skip Sri Lanka this time around, couldn't justify the airfares (added taxes/fees) for a 5 day stay.
