by grace of God if I can afford long time offs I think paying full price there will be affordable as well

Thank you for report, glad to hear you guys had fun. I wonder it that senior discount you mentioned is for 78 and older ? (not that I'm personally interested )

I noted this reasoning by the judge: """He said: ‘Having heard his evidence, I have formed the impression that Mr Prosser had expectations of his flight experience that were unrealistic given the class of cabin that he chose."""" Cleraly judge thinks if you fly economy be prepared to all kind of indignities and be happy you arrived in one piece at all.

that is disadvantage of utilizing services of big , multinational companies. Big databases are worth of trouble stealing while who would bother with Malaysia Hotel or Copa's databases? Small and local is beautiful !

knowing your travel patterns chances are soon you will find yourself, no ?

Atom may give Fluke run for his money, similar smile and similar built. I can imagine inviting both, at least for a drink.

correct, but I recall few occasions that I was expecting inflation of advertised fares and still final price I paid was published one. My advice is still to click on them , it's better to be disappointed than miss really good airfare.

no idea, place was visibly packed on both counts. I doubt about dress code, this is Rose hotel after all

It must be something because I was dragged there by boys for as far as Arena with so many choices in between. Inexpensive and always busy

in Jomtien Complex bars I'd venture - yes, all bars and all waiters

with both airlines and hotels I don't use any review sites because I don't see any use of opinions of total strangers. Fortunately I have plenty travelling friends so can relay on what they have to say about airlines. Unsurprisingly for me most of them say what I think too, differences between them plane and service wise are minuscule and food is Styrofoam type on all. About hotels I found plenty of good advice on this forum. When for fun read reviews on agoda , booking .com etc of hotels I stay in before I'm even more surprised how useless, for me at least , they are.

I'm surprised because acting on recommendations on this forum I attempted to visit Ruen Urai twice in last few years and on both occasions I ( or we when I was with Christian PFC ) was turned away and advised to make reservation as place was packed. Must try again. I agree about Mango tree , delicious but expensive. Still very busy it seems

Thinking about my strategies I realized that one I employ depends on destination but OP mentioned Thailand so it simplifies things a bit. Like Scooby I start with Kayak and in most cases this is where I find what I’m looking for. Sometimes airlines I used in the past are sending some offers by e-mail but rarely they are better than ones found on Kayak. At times I check Expedia as well. There were few trips I did not really plan but because shockingly low fare I decided to utilize it. I don’t shop much , if I see fare which is attractive or acceptable and fits my plans I go for it without spending much time comparison shopping . Learned that lesson years ago when few offers were gone before I made my mind. Collecting miles is by-product and it not influences my flight decisions when flying to Thailand ( I already said there are destination specific strategies for me) . If I get them fine, if I don’t , not much worse. Outbound I like long first leg , from home city straight to Asia and having connections there. Other than price I’m looking at total, door to door travelling time so I’d be bypassing cheap fare if it requires say , overnight in Shanghai or Tokyo but would go for long connection during daytime as it allows me to do some sightseeing, some airports like Incheon are offering free tours for long connections. I prefer to arrive in BKK before noon so would pay up to 100 $ premium for such connection but no more. Yes, being close to major airport gives much more options – and with it comes competition and lower prices . Is nice to have choice of 8 long haul non-stop flights to various Asian airports. What may be overlooked is fact that thanks to budget airlines it may be economical to buy last leg separately with one of Asian budget options. At last three times ( going to Cambodia, Vietnam and Indonesia ) it turned cheaper to buy long haul ticket to Bangkok and then Air Asia from there to final destination . I’m not talking about 10$ savings but at least 100 or so. Option to visit few bars or massages in Bangkok while connecting was fully utilized each time.

half of that dust and pollution is already in our lungs as we inhale the same air when walking by

when leaving bar . with an off or alone , I have habit of placing 100 baht tip in undies of most attractive, for my eyes, boy on the stage. Sometimes even tip two guys if I can't decide. Yes, intention is to signalize than next time I may be interested in. Often mentioned already that generally I engage only guys who are smiling or at least pretending to pay any attention to my presence. Often it works.

Taking boys on a trip outside Thailand, steely stares of disapproval
vinapu replied to JimmyJoe's topic in Gay Thailand
obviously with 3 pages of responses it generated a lot of attention even being in the 'wrong' forum -
one can only hope that it was investor's money , not public

we can be 125% sure that boy prefers baht to a drink but they may have a weekly / monthly quota of drinks and / or offs to fill. Bright side is when boy sits in close proximity to customer chances are that heat generated will result in generous tip and even off. As they say putting one's hand on boy's thigh is responsible for more offs than all mamasan's efforts. In such a case drink becomes more part of liturgy than expense.
-
to avoid such situation and keep one disciplined, even when drunk it helps to have kind of internal rules. I'd not tip anybody in bar more than 300 doesn't matter how fun he'd be , unless I had a chance inspect his good closely so no chance of being too generous to mamasan. On another hand in the room or at massage if guy gets naked and allows me to touch him it's at least 1000 even if service is of sandbagy kind. Another way of avoiding going overboard is to deal with cash and limited amount of it. If you bring 1000 baht to the bar you will not spend more. Only reason I may be reserved about overtipping mamasans or waiters that it may not be fair to other guys in bar-those standing on the scene in just underwear
-
correct but they may steer clients toward more expensive choices where they may get commission to is not a bad idea to get informed
-
nothing bad, you just try to distribute world's wealth more evenly
-
190/130 already ? why are you so agitated ? Some societies invented way of paying service providers decent salaries, Americans instead invented band-aid called tipping which allows employers to pay pittance on understanding that kindness of strangers will supplement that meager income.
-
perhaps tippers should be more generous than going by Thai standards as I'm told by people in the know that Thais are not exactly lavish tippers in places they frequent
-
you are trying to get back at waiters for bankers milking you for ATM fees and poor exchange rates? Doesn't sound neither fair nor wise, pretty nasty and undeserved comments by anybody , never mind somebody who did not participate in forum for that long. There are nicer ways of returning with big bang. If you opt to have shallow pockets it's your choice but don't invoice service personnel in Thai bars for your earning and saving troubles
-
you see, not only you are trying to force your tipping habits on rest of the world but it looks that cultural imperialism includes also telling people when they should go for their vacations
