  1. Le Meridien has nice beds.
  2. I'm not a Tawan regular by any means but I believe that if there is a big gap between bodybuilding competitions some of the guys do let themselves get a bit out of shape softer. I don't think it necessarily foretells the end to Tawan club. Just bad timing.
  3. you might find The Prince for massage has a bigger selection of the "muscular guys with great bodies" the juicyness of whose asses you wish to sample. Most of the guys there will be on the muscular side of very fit/gym bod.
  4. fyi - i think Bangkok International Dental Center has their price list available on their website, and some of the other dental centers do as well, if you're interested in comparing to your home jurisdiction.
  5. I recently switched to Bangkok International Dental Center and have been very happy with them (including a recent extraction/crown). I used to go to Bangkok Dental Hospital but found they became very aggressive at upselling and adding on additional extra charges without explanation. I think you get comparable care at the two.
  6. i was assured last night that the decorations at Hot Male Bar weren't for lunar new year, as i had thought, but in fact were getting ready to welcome back Mr. Paul.
  7. prices are regulated and there's a sign with the prices at the mocy stand. Unfortunately I think you'll find it it is written in Thai, so may not be particularly useful for you. There's not supposed to be two-tier pricing but wouldn't surprise me if drivers try to tack on something extra. Cute little piece in coconuts about a mocy stand that [illegally] put up a sign saying overweight people would be charged extra. http://bangkok.coconuts.co/2017/01/30/opinion-should-motorcycle-taxi-drivers-be-able-charge-heavy-people-more
  8. I was at Dream Boys last weekend and there were more than 60 guys on parade. More guys than any other gogo bar.
  9. Went to Fresh Boys last night. About 25 guys available, all types. Show is basically the same as it has been for a while, with one exception. Show is: one high energy dance number; one solo seductive dance number; solo masturbation-sort-of-number by big-dicked guy (no cum); one interminable shower/foam dance number; naked big dick guys on parade (about 6 guys); and finally two guys sex/fucking show behind mesh screen - but last night FOLLOWED by them walking out into the audience and continuing the fuck show (for tips, of course). If the two guys are fucking right there with the audience members unclear why the first part of the fucking show is behind that semi-transparent mesh. Maybe they're just pushing the envelope for what it is currently permitted. I have no clue if this will be a regular part of the show now or if it is special for the lunar New Year.
  10. I think most if not all of us on this already board know about the guys and their ways of extracting money from customers. Don't see what that has to do with the points that I was making. I don't think the doorman at a bar or anybody looks at you like a fool (your words) if you just go into a bar and pay the price. I also think it is perfectly fine to go to a bar that does not negotiate the price. And that was what started this particular sub-chain - I was simply pointing out in response to samebb that the decision to walk away from a bar just because it does not negotiate means you miss out on a good show and good line up of guys.
  11. But of course we know that many bars do not negotiate the price. A business decision for them to make. So then the decision we have to make is whether or not to go to the bar because they won't negotiate. Up to U. There's a-probably-made-up story among Thais about a westerner who tried to negotiate prices at the 7-Eleven. And BTW I really don't think people look at you like a fool if you don't negotiate the price of the bar drink. The truth is they're not giving anyone that much thought. If it's a fun game you enjoy playing, then play it. But I wouldn't turn it into a negative comment on people who don't play it.
  12. I'm all for getting a lower drink price, particularly when floridarob is in charge of doing the negotiations and I don't have to, but sometimes i think we have to ask ourselves if the 100 baht saved is worth not going to see a show (and the lineup) at a different bar. So to each his own. It's the tension between "don't sweat the small stuff" and "the money saved here and there can add up."
  13. you'll get different answers from everyone here on "best" for this or that. I haven't seen the show at screwboys this but they usually have a good mix of guys - something for everyone. saw ggobkk the other night with a guy from screwboys who i thought was as handsome as I've ever seen. I mean, wow. Other bars with the most twinks: Classic Boy and X-Size and then Fresh Boys and X-Boys (in roughly that order). Classic Boy makes twinks its niche, so it's usually thought of as THE twink bar. Haven't seen the show this year but it is usually pretty good. Classic Boy has worst mamasans. X-Boys has a good very long show, good selection of all types of guys. Mildly irritating mamasans. Fresh Boys also has a good selection of all types. I think the show is good but has been inconsistent lately - maybe they've been dealing with guys on holiday. Don't know. Even so I like the place a lot. But that's just my opinion. X-Size has some cute guys and a couple of gorgeous one, but as near as I can tell they seem to have given up on the show. When I went (with floridarob) there the "show" was three songs with guys simulating sex acts, erect condom-clad penises, but that was it. very odd. Still worth going for the guys, but don't expect a good show, and be sure to negotiate down the drink price to 300 because the show is so bad....
  14. ha. there isn't - one reason is that some bars change the drink prices when things are busy (peak pricing) and some of the bars will negotiate lower prices for the intrepid customers -- i.e., floridarob -- who ask before going in. I'm expecting some bars will raise prices for lunar new year. BTW - I'm updating massage info - still pondering best ways to present the data.
  15. I see the Asian customers offing guys from the BKK gogo bars all the time, so the common myth that, for example, the influx of Chinese customers wasn't good for the working guys because they didn't take the offs like the farang customers, is just that - a myth. I also know of one guy with a wealthy Chinese boyfriend who sends money and there are certainly reports of many more. There are also many many farang customers who nurse their one drink and don't off anyone and who are known to tip terribly. So perhaps the guys have worked their magic and have figured out how to get the business and the money from the visiting Asian tourists just as they had from the farang before, or maybe the myth was never true, but nowadays we're all the same. That's not to say that there aren't some visiting Asian tourists who don't pay. Of course that's true. Just as there are some visiting farang who don't. But right now the Asian tourist are a crucial customer base helping to keep the bars going.
  16. So it looks like the BKK chinatown celebrations canceled. http://www.nationmultimedia.com/news/national/30304755 The decorations have been up in Soi Twilight for a few days. I am sure there will still be a festive spirit there. Also the tourism festival in Lumpini Park is on again this year from jan 25th-28th. (I think it runs from about 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm?). last couple of years have been very fun. Can be a nice chance to do something with barboy friends before they start work...
  17. the straight one is on Patpong 2 closer to Silom Personally not aware of one in BKK, but that doesn't mean anything. I think BBB Inn has a party room with a sling, so i suppose you could organize a party there on your own. If you do try to do that, please do try to video when you are explaining to the boys what you want. Priceless
  18. you only mention that he would not have to pay for food or accommodation. Not sure many guys here would want to or could take three weeks off work or school unpaid just to be the travel companion of some stranger for free. And the destinations, although a nice trip for you, aren't all that exotic for them. There may of course be any number of guys who will do it for daily per diem. It's their job. Even then, three weeks with a stranger seems like a bad idea for all concerned. Better to show up a few days early and try to meet a compatible companion.
  19. example of why i continue to believe that christinanpfc is the most interesting multi-layered participant on this board... (and that's not to say that i happen to agree with every layer). I also firmly believe that in 150 years a graduate student at Columbia University will rely on his blog to write her doctoral thesis: "Christianpfc: Chronicler of the Gay Subculture in SE Asia at the Start of the 21st Century."
  20. i think if the op likes the boy and enjoys his company he is free to make the decision to bring the boy with him without criticism.
  21. Yes they can get jealous, even when they know it's all about the money. It's easy and fun to travel with one of the guys. I frequently do. As long as you're clear ahead of time about what your expecting, I say go for it! Most likely everything will be fine. An episode of drama -- that's just part of the package of hanging out with bar boys, bound to happen to you at some point soon, if not already.
  22. I've noticed sometimes the guys at Prince Spa come up short on time for a 90 minute massage, but usually get the timing right or know how to stretch things out for 60 minute massage. Usually at the 30 minute mark they are finishing up legs... I 100% agree complaining to the manager after leaving that one is unhappy the massage was short is not a real solution. Communication with the masseur is better. As Vinapu has said before, if one cares it's pretty easy to say "let's go slow" or "one hour - still have time" or such and the guys will happily fill out the time. I've had a couple of guys there who are big cuddlers after the act. Some people love love love that. For me it's ok for a few minutes after-glow but then usually I end up being the one saying "ok, let's get up - time to shower." Just goes to show people are different, and it is an very intimate personal business indeed. It can be a bit hard for the guys to time things perfectly, because they have to give a massage and leave enough time for special services, but they never really know how long the special services will take. Depends so much on the customer, and in my case time can change quite a bit from one visit to the next. But it is their job to get it right. Some of the more seasoned masseurs there (and elsewhere) do something that I really like, which is while they are still working on legs reach up and under and use that as an opportunity to massage my junk for a bit, then move back to legs, back etc. It's not meant to be an invitation to roll over - unless that's what you want. But fortunately I wasn't there so don't know what was going on. Also baffled by the comment about the masseur being hard. He'd be more likely to get negative comments from customers if he didn't get hard.
  23. Pricey, but consistently the best massages I've had in Bangkok. https://spabangkok.net Spa Bangkok - Silom Branch is a high-end spa and massage shop in Silom Plaza. It's on the 1st floor, in the back on the right. Arena is in the same building, on the 3rd floor. Last year I got the crazy expensive tourist package of body scrub + special tantric massage + aroma massage (2,400 plus tip). It was 2.5 hours of bliss (or however long it took). That package is still available. Highly recommended. This year I decided to pay the up front 4,900 for a "membership" which gets 4 "free" 90 minute aroma massages and then a discounted rate after that. The 90 minute aroma non-member price is 1,500. No stated minimum tip. (I essentially tip the same here as Prince. Prince get full naked sex, but here get professional massage, and I value both equally when done well. Maybe this means I may be overtipping here, I don't know or care that much as long as I stay under budget.) The Silom branch is the biggest of the spa's three branches. Most days they seem to have about 8-10 guys scheduled. You can select from a tablet or let the manager pick. It does a good business. They usually seem to be able to accommodate walk-ins, but advance booking is recommended. Because it's really more of a legit shop than, say, Arena, Prince or VCK, you should be going for the massage first and foremost, so I wouldn't get hung up on selection. They share the monthly schedule and also send out a daily update on who is working on Line, so if you do find a masseur who works the magic for you, you can easily schedule that way. That is what I do. When I first went back this year I didn't specify a masseur and ended up coincidentally getting the same masseur as last year. I thought he was fantastic and actually has a look I find very attractive, so good karma played out, I guess. Now I just book him. The facilities are very very nice - spa-like. Shower is in the hall, but you never see another customer on your way to or from the showers. Downstairs room has shower en suite. There are stairs. Masseur is fully clothed throughout, although I believe that if you book the "body-to-body" version of the "sensual massage" the masseur obviously drops the clothes. They told me the sensual massage is the same as the aroma massage. The massage is on a table. The tables are not particularly large, I noticed that there is a cut out for your face but I've never used it and at over 6'2" I don't think I would without my feet hanging out over the end of the table. But in any event I prefer a pillow. The massages here are not for amateurs. Unlike most of the massages at the more sex-oriented shops, which end up being more like oily caressing (not that there's anything wrong with that), Spa Bangkok massages are directly influenced by/of a piece with Thai massages. There's a lot of stretching and, in my case, a lot of hard work by the masseur in breaking up those knots in the back and shoulders. Truly no pain/no gain but they are well trained enough that they know how to support joints etc when stretching. I repeat - if you can't handle the good pain of therapeutic massage, this is not the place for you. One thing I noticed during the most recent massage was that the masseur did a really good job with integrating glute (butt) massage throughout. My masseur has a great friendly attitude, despite the inevitable nightmares he must have after giving me a massage ("Help! My hands are being sucked into a vat of jello!") My masseur has always left me very happy after the roller coaster of pleasure - good pain, so I assume a happy ending is normal fare here. So why is this better than Prime? I think Prime is the go-to spot for Thai massages (no expectation of happy ending). I like that the aroma massage here better because of the expanded repertoire - elements of Thai massage and Swedish. And I think the staff here are a bit friendlier and the facilities quite a bit nicer. For me worth the 3x expensive. But I don't go here all the time. Honorable Mention: "The Best Massage" in Silom Plaza. Also on the 1st floor this place is M4M, not at all expensive. 600 baht 1 hr foot + 1 hour oil or thai. Facilities nicer side of basic. Room with shower. Very large table. Can select from photo book or guys loitering or take next in line. Guys have that "just down from up country" look - quite dark skin, smaller-framed, wiry. I had one great massage and then one good massage but could have been better, but I think that guy was just too young and inexperienced. Happy ending. Very nice manager (woman). With Arena, Spa Bangkok and The Best you can pretty much experience the whole spectrum of M4M massage without leaving Silom Plaza. All three recommended for their particular market niche.
  24. I think you will find absolutely no discrimination in the massage shops whatsoever. I have often noticed that most of the other customers are Asian/SE Asian and younger - so actually you will be more in line with the typical customer. (Possible exceptions - the Soi Twilight shops, which seem to get heavy farang foot traffic.)
  25. From what I can see, it seems that few of the M4M shops that have tables have the ones with the face cutout. So as far neck position for long massages the regular tables and mats on the floor end up being pretty much the same for me. I've gotten to the point now that I don't even like the cut-out tables any more. I just put the pillow under my upper chest/neck/chin and for me that's comfortable for lengthy massages, my neck isn't wrenched one way or another, and I can breathe easily.
