So here goes. Update on Lagoa in SP.
I went on both Friday and Saturday nights.
Friday was busy with both clients and boys. Lots of choice from twinks, to muscle gods and everything in between. All skin tones also catered for. As it was my first night and was under a little time pressure only had some drinks and did some prep work.
Saturday was absolutely rammed, there is Bingo for the boys and clients. One game to full house. 1 winner for each  the bar area you literally couldn't move. It was good fun though, followed by drag shows.

Short trip report for Tokyo and Osaka.
Tokyo
I tried Chance in Shinjuku-okubo to see a guy I have had my sights set on since I started planning my trip. The Chance reservation system worked well and the meeting point i was given was a small residential alley where i had to call the number provided for him to come out and fetch me. I will say the location wasn't the easiest, I was a little late because i got lost transferring in Shinjuku station then trying to find the right alley. 
The guy was great, friendly and exactly as pictured (he does porn so i already knew). The condom he had for me didn't fit but i had my own, decent bottom after some initial difficulty. It seems he has since left the store, so I was lucky to have got my top pick just in time. I wish i did a second reservation, I have a feeling he would have been even better the second time after we'd got more accustomed to each other.
Next up was DG located in Shinjuku, the location for DG was easier, still i was directed to the meeting spot via email then asked to call the number to be fetched. After that was cleared up the guy came in, he was a little different from his pictures but not by much, so not a big problem. He had almost no english, but we didn't need it. 
I didn't try any other services in Tokyo, I got a few guys from Grindr but catfished more often than not with edited or not accurate pics. The worst was a guy I waited an hour for, then he showed up and I was really regretting my decision. We got in the lift with an airline pilot as I died a little inside and sheepishly walked this creature I just invited back to my room out of the lift. Osaka

Grindr/9mon and other apps were not great for meeting Japanese guys if you only speak english, maybe I was just unlucky or need to be less direct and approach them differently. There is an abundance of hot twinks but the language barrier is more difficult than other east asian countries.

Brazil Speed-Run: São Paulo RecapHere's a quick summary of my latest trip to Brazil before I head to Montreal and piled up with even more stories. Since I’ve visited more places this time, I’ll be more detailed about the new locations I’ve been to for the first time. I’ll share more about those new places soon.
Visa, old passport vs new passport: I recently flew with Delta, and the process was surprisingly smooth. While all Americans at the counter were asked to present their Brazil visa check, the gate agent was completely fine with my new passport and never even asked for my old one. I still keep both passports as a backup, but I didn’t encounter any issues when I presented them at the Brazil counter either. They simply stated that I didn’t need my old passport. Lagoa Thermas: It was just as fun as ever on a Wednesday night. There were plenty of new faces joining the regular crowd, and the quality was pretty good in my opinion..... I met this newcomer from Recife — a gorgeous guy, very slim, with a swimmer’s body. We had a sort of boyfriend experience during my time at Lagoa, but I was clear that I would be having other programas. He was fine with that. I didn't see him with anyone else, though; one GP even asked me to have a threesome with the Recife guy. He said, and I quote, that the guy looked “gostoso.” That’s a big no-no for me. I’ve become overly picky. That night, the interactive and non-interactive sections looked identical. Everyone appeared to be a patron, in their late forties and older. I stayed just for the curiosity. Wild Thermas Club in Higienópolis: It was better than I expected. But nothing extraordinary happened. The place was clean and well-organized. Doors opened at 3:00 PM, but the crowd was sparse. late forty to 60e Again, left to Lagoa that afternoon. Hot House SP: It was fuller than previous runs. The owner was as welcoming as ever. The dancers were mostly the usual ones, plus two new additions. I had a drink with one of them. There was only one interactive, and I didn’t like it, so I didn’t interact. However, there were three fully dressed guys  in a corner near the stage. One of them started suckinganother, but it was not too obvious, kind of discreet, but enough open that I could see them. I went back to my hotel, exhausted after Lagoa. The next day was my flight to Rio. I was just Wed to Sat in SP since my ultimate destiny was Rio Rio, more interesting:
Sunday, I finally went to Casa Boite. It was... interesting. I’d planned to hit Tapa NLa Cara before or salgadinhoafterward, but I was late, and honestly, many guys warned me against Tapa — said it’s not really a gay spot, more like a regular bar — so I skipped it.
Casa Boite felt like walking into a big favela patio — kind of like someone’s huge backyard. No reception, just a guy with a little lamp sitting on his phone next to a salgadinho counter. I paid with my phone and bought my beers tickets. Then there’s a big square in the middle, with a guy handing out beers from a big cooler butt.   and a few floors and open rooms you can see below. the place It’s definitely better with a group of friends standing alone felt awkward, kind of exposed.
There were more white guys than I expected, mostly in groups around the pool — though it wasn’t really being used. I didn’t see many rough guys, just two that fit that vibe. I went with each of them to the rooms, one at a time. The rooms were impossible dirty so  I stood up, not wanting to sit on the used sheets. Both offered me leite , and I took it. i didnt want to disappoint the locals 😛 
I mostly hung out with the rougher one However, he was actually pretty sweet, and we held hands. So I went looking for roughness, but got romance instead.
And here’s the funny part: I was surprised to see one of my regulars there. He’s one of the few I’ve shared overnight with whne i am in Rio ; I have all his info, and I even send a gift to his son’s birthday every year. In April, they had free cabins on Mondays and Wednesdays — though I might be wrong about the second day having free cabins. 117 wasn’t as good as on other days. It was pretty slow, except for Tuesday when they offered free cabins. Still, I had fun with my regulars and a couple of new guys. The staff is incredibly nice and very friendly. ShowBar Oficial at Madureira: I finally found this place. The entrance is pretty funny; once you have the address or number, it’s a long corridor from the street to the door. It’s a tiny sex place, but when I went, there weren’t many people, so I can’t say how busy it gets. From what I saw, it’s probably not your muscle-boy kind of spot — more like a next-door mulatos kind of place.When you walk in, there’s a tiny booth to pay the entrance fee. Right after, there’s a small bar that takes up the entire space. To your left, there’s a small room with a TV playing porn. Beyond that, there are a couple of dark rooms. Since the place was pretty empty when I arrived, I left after a few minutes — not much to report. I might check it out again on another trip. Black Cat Lounge Bar  This was a new spot for me. It opened pretty late, starting at 11 pm, with interactives at 1 am and 3 am. Since it’s close to Copacabana Beach, it was easy to get to. I really liked it because it’s a nonGP place that’s also a bar and dance club, not too big, with a younger crowd, mostly in their 20s to 30s. I was one of the few older guys, but I didn’t feel out of place or excluded, which was a big plus.
The place is very, very loud — if you’re sensitive to loud music, I’d avoid it. But I didn’t mind; it added to the vibe, especially since the main purpose of the space is the dark room. It’s not that dark, though — there are some interesting stairs leading up to a larger, darker area. That upstairs section has sections that are pitch black and is non-stop sex, no invitations needed. 
I had a lot of fun. dance club / dark room place with so many guys in their 20s, I was a bit cautious at first. But after about half an hour, I was already having a great time upstairs. l’ll definitely go back on my next trip. Here’s the Twitter/X account with a pretty accurate layout of the place — I recommend checking it out to get a sense of how everything is set up. That was quite a long report — I wish I had more details, but everything’s a bit mixed up in my mind. Next stop: Montreal. I don’t have big expectations since Stock Bar has gone downhill, and Taboo isn’t what it used to be. I hope Campus is still fun to hang out at, though.
 
   

Border hop time again. We decided to give Thailand a miss and went for a three month say in DaNang. 
Getting the visa was easy, online application £20 fee and your details, address flight passport etc etc. Arrived in four days by email. 
We have rented an apartment on My Khe beach front and the first thing that caught us out was the construstion noise next door, it's been a month of hammer drilling which is now over thank goodness.  8am to 5pm. There are people on YT who suggest noise can be a problem but until you actually arrive at your destination I'm not sure how you can know in advance.
Google maps doesn't update often enough to help. The demolished building is still a hotel on google maps. 
We haven't come for 'Gay Danang' to be honest there's not a lot here for two older men. That said we have found a couple of bars and the Gentlemans sauna
HOI AN 'LIVING COLOURS'  a very friendly gay bar, we got tipsy there a couple of evenings during our weekend stay, everyone seemed really friendly. 
It wasn't difficult to strike up conversations and enjoy a few drinks.
They do kareoke and drag but not on the nights we were there. 
The two chaps who run the place are very nice and very friendly, as has been said in thier google reviews. Well worth a visit, we will return.
I care about cleanliness behind the bar and the way cocktails are prepared really stood out here. First Class. 
 
DANANG QBAR Quite a small bar and not particularly comfortable, the bar staff were very friendly.
No draught beer, just cans.  We sat outside so we could smoke, inside was busy but not the sort of bar where we found it as easy to chat to strangers as we found at 'Living Colours'  A few table and chairs so once seated the patron chatted to themselves, Probably won't go again.
It was quite something to be sitting outside smoking and as one barman arrived we heard him announce to his buddy that he did indeed have a UTI.
I'm glad it wasn't my slice of lime he manhandled in to a cocktail as I stood at the bar getting my beer.
Not overly happy with the standard of hygiene at the small sink behind the bar. The bar is located a 10/15 minute drive from the heart of the touristy beach area. 
 
GENTLEMANS SAUNA DANANG.  This has mixed reviews on google so here's my honest opinion as a 'sauna whore' for most of my adult life.
We went yesterday (saturday) 5pm -8pm  it was busy with a wide mix of ages and body types and nationalities. 
As you enter there are changing lockers to the right, you are only provided with what can best be described as a flannel. No towel to cover your modesty or dry off with at the end of your stay.  TOP TIP. Take your own towel for drying off before you leave.
The flannel serves no real purpose, I honestly thought it was a bit daft the way chaps were holding said flannel over thier cock as they wander around covering thier modesty.
I chose the sluttier option and just wandered naked, doing my best to hold in my beer belly. Fuck it. Lifes to short.
It is very dimly lit so it's not like you're walking around stark bollock naked in homophobic lighting. 
On the ground floor a small steam roon and dry sauna and communal shower area.
The small steam room is a classic free for all grope and suck and mingle.  It was a constant stream of men in and out, no real action in the sense of 'orgy' but it was busy.
The usual rules apply, a gentle removal of an unwanted touch is all that is needed.
The two upper floors have a combination of dimly lit single rooms and open larger rooms, the stairs could prove fatal if you're not careful, marble surface and wet flip flops are not a great mix, so take care as it is not well lit. I think being barefoot could prove even more slippery. Once your eyes adjust the lighting is perfect. 
The chap who runs it is very friendly, there is some refreshment, beer with a ton of ice in it or a soft drink in those dispensers you often see at a large gathering in a restaurant, and some very small plastic cups, and a table with sliced fruit are free. 
We went by Grab and being modest, not wanting to startle the driver, we chose our drop off point as 'Kims House Homestay' which is just a couple of doors away.
We did have a short wait when we Grabbed home as there were not so many drivers available, theres a nice coffe bar on the corner at the end of the street to sit and wait, ALLY COFFE'  It's a 15 minute ride from 'tourist central' at the beach where we are staying. 
We will certainly go back, reviews on google suggest many people don't like being touched in a dark steamroom, I would say to them if that's not your sort of thing then don't go. 
It's a gay sauna and in all my sauna years I would expect nothing less than some random stranger touching my cock or feeling my butt while jammed up against 10 other men in a dark steam room.  Isn't that the whole point?

I've had some use of the Moreta app to pay in VND but usually choose cash or Wise card, unless it is cash you are going to pay a little extra either way. 
There is LOCAL PAY app which is widely accepted but from my understanding you have to buy bitcoin to top it up,  I'm not up for dabbling in bitcoin so chose not to use it.
VP Bank doesn't have withdrawl charges but the ATM's I found were limited to 2 million (Danang and Hoi An) where as if you don't mind paying around £10 in ATM and WISE charge combined I find it easier to use the nearest cashpoint and take out 5 million. The grab ride to my nearest VP ATM is a £5 return journey.... and bear in mind that you only get a couple of charge free withdrawls per month from WISE as it is. 
We're here until the first week of Sept and then back to Penang, we've decided/booked Chiang Mai for the next border hop in December.
 

I went to Thermas combining bad day and bad hour (tuesday at 16:30), but that's the only time I could spare while visiting local friends.

Hello, Based on my first experience visiting Rio and subsequent visits then you will be safe and everything will be ok. 
 
Like you I do not speak Portuguese, but if you take advantage of the information on this forum I am sure you will be fine. Plus you have the advantage of having visited Rio before. 
 
The best tip you will see mentioned here is take your time when you arrive at the sauna. Figure out the layout of the sauna, relax , get a drink and observe the guys. Don’t go for the first guy who approaches you. 
 
When you get to see the guys available then you can decide who you want to go with. May well be the first guy who approached you but you are then making an informed decision.

Being fan of both destinations I can concur with both of the above postings! The DR scene in my view is easier to navigate and arrange. No hassle bringing a guy to your Airbnb, better rates and monster dicks galore. Maybe a bit rough on the edges. And yes: jackhammers! Brasil has stunningly beautiful boys for a wide taste. Only you should really suss out an Airbnb with a more relaxed door policy. If not, one is confined to the saunas and those burn your money (at least if you are a slut like I am!). Outdoor cruising can be wild in Brasil also. They are absolute pornstars in bed though.
Going to Salvador de Bahia for 2 weeks in August Love that city! Beautiful dark skinned boys, monster dicks and eager to please. Also several outdoor cruising opportunities. Yes, it was at the SP immigration and on a JFK Delta I still intend to carry the old one with me. I’m a bit of a paranoid, but fortunately, I renew my passport before the commemorative “Patriot Passport” comes out. I can’t imagine having a passport with that guy for the next 10 years. This was my first visit and I immediately fell in love with this town. 
I booked the GHL hotel for 2 nights at 50$ and another night in hotel 'Casa del Sol' (for some reason, the GHL hotel price doubled for that last day). 
GHL hotel is a luxury hotel, with a rooftop pool and great views over the city.  I only had one 'joiner', but front desk assured me that it wasn't a problem to invite people, as long as they were registered.

Tiuma Park is a real paradise. An adventure park, a 30 minutes taxi ride from Villavicencio, where you can go zip lining, horseback riding and even follow a short course to become a cowboy and learn how to herd cows. Plenty of activities to do and we both enjoyed it a lot. We had the whole park for ourselves. 
Once back in Villavicencio, we went to an amazing venezuelan restaurant called 'De Pana' (Tequeños! cachapas!) and later a game of bowling in a local commercial center. 
The following day I was leaving for Medellin.  Jésus was heartbroken, just like me, which lasted until I opened Grindr in Medellín a couple hours later.  

I booked a direct flight with Clic Air. It was a bit more expensive, but the advantage is that you land at the small airport near Laureles and El Poblado (saving you time and taxis). Plus, I like flying on a propeller plane; it's a different experience.
Best place to stay in Villavo: the hotels around the GHL hotel in the south (safe area with plenty of restaurants and shopping centers).
