I agree, passport and wallet wouldve been more hassle especially on a trip and most of your cash are in the wallet. Ive learned to store most of my cash elsewhere ( safety deposit box or locked luggage) and only carry enough cash to spend for the day. This trip, i also use a smaller card holder for my more frequent items so i dont have to take out my wallet as often. Losing wallet will still be a hassle as my cards and ID along with driving license are all there so all need to be replaced. Passport, its a nightmare indeed. Yes, it went through my mind that we have become so dependable with our phone. Losing access to contacts, we used to memorize phone number, and i still memorize my father's phone number for cases like this Reinstalling apps. I do realize, some apps like whatapps, you cant change your phone number without access to the old phone or old phone number. So only way to retrieve my account back is to have my phone provider to reinstate my old phone number with a new sim on a new phone. This will probably require a police report. Financial transaction. Cant deny this has made it much easier for payment, transfer, checking balance etc without having to visit bank. Good thing about going to thailand is most of my transaction are in cash lol And of course, the social media, games, things we do to past time. Losing a phone, i cant use it for distraction anymore.

Thanks for the tips! I just checked the website for today's rate, it is better than mrt sukhumvit branch 7.6 vs vasu 7.63, but silom plaza gives 7.65, so is Xone. This is rate for MYR-Bath, so RM 1 will give me 7.65 baht. Definitely a worthy branch to consider when staying at sukhumvit area!

Day 3.95 - The unmitigated disaster. I immediately asked my guy if he saw my phone, and he said no. I saw one phone on the table and it was his phone. I checked my small backpack thoroughly and its not there. My last recollection was of course i used my phone to book my bolt, and its not with me now, so it can only mean i left it in the bolt car! At this time, my guy is already in the bathroom ready to shower. I told him I would go downstairs to find my phone. In my mind, I was hoping that the driver realized that my phone was left in his car and already gave it to the concierge for me to collect. Alas, when i reached the reception, I asked if anyone leave my phone with them or concierge and they said no. My heart sank, and thoughts running through my head of what will happen if I lost my phone, at the beginning of my trip too. I then told the reception that I believed I left my phone in the bolt car. She asked me if i remember the car plate number. I told her i dont, i can maybe remember the number but not the thai character for sure. The receptionist asked where did the car dropped me, and i told her near the entrance to to hotel lobby, and not at the street. So she called the security and asked them if they can see the security camera footage if they can identify the car plate number. She asked me what time the car dropped me and if i recall the car color and make. I told her its a black toyota vios. While they are helping me with this, she asked me if i can wait and sit at the lounge chair. After few minutes waiting, i thought of an idea. I went back to the receptionist and asked if she has a line. Asked her to find my line account but unfortunately, she couldnt find it using both my phone number or user id. Not the first time i had this issue, especially when exchanging contacts with guys, and best way to bypass this is by sharing QR code. Well, since i did not have my phone with me, that wont work. I then asked if she has whatapps, and unfortunately she doesnt have one. I then asked if she can try to call my phone using my phone number, which is a malaysian phone number, so it will be an international call. I of course said I will pay any charges incur. She tried that as well but apparently had issues getting through the operator. After trying for a while, she then asked he colleague if she has whatapps and to my relief, she said yes. I gave her my phone number for her to add my whatapps account and ask her if she can call my phone. She called, and no one answer. She called again, the same. At this point, I am totally at lost already. Not to mention, i have a hunky guy waiting for me in my room. Ill just have to accept that chances of recovering my phone are slim now. Before I went upstair, i checked again with reception if there is any update on the security camera, and she said not yet. But then, she asked me if the phone number i shared with her is the one i used for my bolt account. I said yes. She told me she is reporting my incident with bolt. And hope that bolt will respond soon. My experience with customer service have been a mixed bag, so I didnt get my hopes up that they will respond anytime soon, seeing its now maybe 2am. Having half accepted my fate, I thanked the receptionist, the security and the concierge for their help, and went back to my room. I guess as i aged, I tend to get better control of my emotion and learnt to accept things that is out of my control. Ive done all i could, and now, its up to the universe to do its thing. Day 3 - The luck continues, or does it? From this day onwards, no specific notes were taken, so itll be a recount from my text messages, and mostly from memories. Good to know that upgrades still offered in garden inn franchise. However, in the hilton app, that is not written, so i suppose it will depends on the discretion of the hotel to give upgrades. As comparison, hilton hotel and resorts clearly stated upgrades as one of the benefits. I can even checked my upgrades in the apps few days prior to my check in date.

As many already chime in, for places where you can go in and choose guys from a line up similar to arena are VCK in Soi Ari (next to chakran sauna, which is in similar building), Prince in Suan Phlu, Senso in Soi Saladaeng. Jey Spa in Phrom Phong sometimes will have a few masseurs available on site that you can choose from but I always book ahead to ensure i get the guy i wanted from their line postings. As far as i know only Arena and Prince didnt publish their line up in line or websites so only way to choose is to go there or book someone you already know by name before.

Day 2 - Getting into the routine Had breakfast and lazed around until 1pm, making my way to silom soi 6, for my customary massage at prime. 1 hour foot and 2 hour oil massage. Option 2 is basically, we dont proceed, but i kept this to myself, and just presented to him option 1 is the only option ill accept and asked how long he needed before he can join me. He took his time to decide and finally suggested a compromise that works for me and him, only because I like him, and i suppose he also think about me as his regular or at least id like to think that lol Anyway, after that minor altercation, back in hotel, all goes well. Luckily im still in the mood, so is he. We talked also about other stuff and this is also where he told me why he cant do long time anymore after i guess it correctly. I told him i respected his decision and i repeated that he shouldve told me in the bar. But we also agree that the compromise we agree on works for future off as well. In my book, he will still be my regular.

When i do take notes, is basically almost a report just on notes app in my phone. Otherwise, i checked my messages with friends/forum members, and photos for day time tourist stuff. And of course, from memory

That is true. Another downside of hilton garden inn is there is no free upgrade offer. Price wise though, its definitely the cheapest. Ive yet to try it but reviews seems to be more on the negative, (poor maintenance, aging hotel, etc)

I have stayed here once, and yes it can be an option. Price wise though, Hilton Grande Asoke is a better value as Hilton Millennium charges a premium for being a riverside hotel and next to Icon Siam. Another down side is, if you ever need to get a taxi from there, you are competing with Icon Siam crowds and crossing the bridge by car can take a long time. But my decision on Asok is purely on the price.

As some of you may already know, I was in Bangkok for 10 days, from 29th November until 9th December 2025. I know i have sort of stop writing trip reports, due so mixed of life and work interfering as well as lack of interest to share lol. Even for this trip report, ive been contemplating whether i should write a report or not. Alas, I am less busy with work now, and life is a bit dull at the moment, so here I am, back with writing trip reports here. Year end trip this time was planned a bit earlier, unlike some of my trips this year and last year where it was a bit of a last minute decisions. I usually try to align my trip, or at least part of my trip with a friend from KL, which have been my bangkok travel buddy for few trips now. Normally, he will be the one who booked his travel first, and ill adjust my booking to suit his schedule as I am more flexible and will be in Bangkok longer. For this trip, he will be in Bangkok for the first half of my trip. Initially, I couldve stayed in Bangkok longer, up to 20 days, as I have vacation days to be used before year end, but two things happened that made me decided on only a 10 days trip to Bangkok. One, a work meeting on 15th December, which i couldnt skip. Two, I am very close to obtain gold status for Enrich program (Malaysia Airlines), and need to travel at least to two more locations to reach that gold. So my work meeting helped me to decide when i should split the trips, hence 10 days Bangkok, followed by 4 days Phnom Penh, and after my work meeting, another trip, which at this point of time its between vietnam (ho chi minh or da nang) or domestic location (Kota Kinabalu). I ended up going to Kota Kinabalu instead. Another to do list i did this trip is to maintain my status with hilton honors, so first half of my trip, Im staying in Asok instead of the more convenient Silom area. Its a bit unfortunate that Hilton did not have hotel located near enough to Silom ghetto area. Instead, the closest one is Hilton Garden Inn Silom, which is in Bang Rak area, closer to the riverside. Id rather stay in Asok where the hilton there is near a bts station. As member here, I was offered free upgrade to executive room, on the highest floor. The second half of my trip, I stayed in my second home, Furama Silom. Booked deluxe room (slightly more than the cheapest superior room) with breakfast and got a 17th floor room with updated furniture and bed, with of course the glass wall for the bathroom. Was contemplating between Furama and Raya, but raya rates seems to be much higher now, so value wise, Furama wins. Already spent too much on Hilton hotel so that helps with my budget.

Another reason is there is never enough guys available in bars during high season. They need enough boys in bar to keep customers entertained, while most popular boys being offed, some even few days in a row. They are probably looking for any taker who wants to cash in during peak season

All the more reason that the popular ones wont show up early. On the other hands, that could be a good thing for those early comer who isnt as popular, less competition from popular boys, so higher chance to get off? Lol

Review sections are already there to be used for reviews. Whether forum members want to use it or not, its up to them. Those who believe we should, please use that section as it is member only section and wont be showing up in google search. As many here can already tell, not many of the members wanted to review specific provider here. Or use the section provided by the forum for exactly that. At least for Thailand. I see great reviews from the former toyboy websites though.

My point is i wonder if the bar should make it the other way around. Would it make a different? Gaining 200 baht, vs losing 200 baht. It would be interesting to see if it yield different results. I recall boys used to get 200 baht for each show, maybe more for jupiter and moonlight model i guess. Info might be outdated though

Its extra incentive to come early rather than punishment for coming late. For popular guys, 200baht might not be enough for them to sacrifice their "me time". Who knows, they have customer from apps already from 7-9pm lol

Furama silom now have communal shelf near the lift for each floor, where they put extra towels, amenities, coffee/tea bags, iron and extra toilet papers and one weight scale for those weight watcher.
