newscene reacted to MichaelJay70 in Trip Report Bangkok March 2026Part 1
Hello gentlemen. I just returned from a weeklong trip to Bangkok. It was my first “leisure” trip there, after going to Thailand for work… I decided to finally go for fun on my own. I actually spent a lot of time researching what I wanted to do, and how to go about it. Thank you to the members of this forum especially @GoldMember, @jimmie50, @jamiebee, @RavenFlock and all of the rest of you. All of the advice and suggestions were perfect.
This is my first trip report on this forum, so I am going to try to do my best to share the type of information that I think may be helpful for others, just like so many of the trip reports that I read before my trip. I hope you are good with the report.
I am a bit of a fancy luxury lover… so I splurged on this trip. Coming from the US West Coast, I booked a trip on Qatar Airways business class in January for my trip in March of 2026. Well we all know how that went. (Thanks a lot 47!) On February 28 (the first day of the war), I contacted my travel agent Amex Travel, and they told me “yeah, no—we don’t yet have any waivers for refunds without a fee for March 22, so sorry”. So, I fired up ChatGPT with my dilemma, and sure enough, ChatGPT monitored the waivers for me… and notified me when I could cancel my Qatar Airways flights for a full refund. In the meantime, I proactively purchased a roundtrip business class ticket on Cathay Pacific through Hong Kong (it was about the same price as the Qatar flights). In the end… I am happy I flew on Cathay. It was extremely pleasant. Hong Kong Airport is a dream to connect—the lounges there are lovely. Arrival in Bangkok was a breeze. Why? Because, I heard all about long immigration lines at BKK—I booked a guided transit host for US$60. This was fantastic. Someone met me at the gate with my name, put me on a golf cart, drove me through the miles of BKK airport, and then passed me off to a guide who walked me through immigration (there was no line—I was the only one there at the fast track VIP immigration booth). Then the guide waited with me at baggage claim and picked up my bags and walked me over to the Grab pickup zone. The whole process from the plane to the curb took less than 25 minutes!! Not kidding, and well worth the $60.00. I arrived at about 11:00AM on a Tuesday. Got in the Grab, and in 45 minutes I was at my hotel, the fancy Park Hyatt Bangkok in Central Embassy, Lumpini. I got upgraded to a fantastic 2 room suite, and it was super fancy. Even though I arrived earlier than checkin time, they prepared my room and had me wait about 30 minutes in the lounge with a nice welcome drink and my room was ready.
I have an Indonesian sugar baby “SB” (a fantastic muscle 35 year old, muscle boy, whom I see a few times a year), who I invited to join me from Jakarta later that week. But the first two days I was on my own.
From all of my research, and from suggestions from you folks especially @GoldMember (who seems to like my taste in male muscle!), I booked the following directly from his suggestions:
1. S’Sense Massage: Singha
2. History of Massage: Sunji
3. The Residences Saladeang: Kigi
4. Klover: Trol
5. TCS Charoenkrung: Ruj
The first night, I visited S’sense. I took a Grab the short 15 minutes from my hotel, and was in Sathon. I had booked Singha about 3 weeks in advance because he was so in-demand. And, Goldmember recommended advance booking. It was easy to book on Line… and no deposit was required. I confirmed the day before. When I arrived, the shop had a lot of people in the lobby. About a dozen therapists in the Sense uniform, along with a few customers waiting for their session. Most of the customers were Chinese tourists (in their 30s and 40s). I was asked to be seated on the couch and a cute young therapist sat down with me to help me select the massage oil scent I wanted, and to fill out the short massage form. I paid the massage fee of 1450 THB for a two hour hot oil massage in cash. My shoes were removed and slippers provided. I was then escorted to a second story room to wait on a recliner chair in a calm waiting area with another customer, until Singha, my therapist arrived to greet me.
Singha then escorted me up a few flights of stairs to our private massage room. The room had a small shower stall, but no toilet. The room was basic but generally clean. Singha then discussed with me how the massage would work, what pressure would I like, etc. I took a shower, and then laid on the table naked. No sheet or cover was provided. There was a face hole and pillow.
Singha is one of the most popular therapists for a reason. First of all, he is fantastically beautiful. He is just my type: super muscular physique (bodybuilder quality), pretty smooth, only one tattoo, a fantastic smile, and speaks excellent English/is very chatty. He is also an excellent massage therapist for the actual massage. His touch is pretty damn strong, and he really worked me out massage-wise. Very early in the massage, Singha asked me if I wanted the whole Body to Body experience. He quoted me the rate of 900 THB, and I happily agreed. Singha got naked about 30-40 minutes into my 2 hour massage, and gave me the B2B experience… which was amazing. He got up on top of the table and used his whole body on top of mine to massage and rub me every which way. He was completely hard, and he used his cock to fuck my crack, my legs, etc. He flipped me over and gave me oral. At my request, he also let me worship his muscled physique—he was a master at flexing. He erotically, used his flexed biceps to massage my hard cock, and also sat on top of me flexing while fucking my oiled thighs. I was not interested in full anal, and it was not brought up… but if I would have brought it up, I know Singha would have been open to negotiating a higher tip. We both came at almost the same time and Singha cleaned me up. He then continued the massage for another 30-40 minutes, including a great head and shoulders massage. I then took a shower, while Singha excused himself to take a shower as well. I thanked him and provided him with a 1000 THB tip which he was happy about. He asked for my Line to stay in touch, and I shared it with him.
After the massage, he hugged and kissed me, and then he walked me to the lobby where he served me tea and provided me with a cookie. While I was enjoying my tea, several Spanish speaking women were escorted from the massage areas to the lobby to receive their tea and cookies… so it seems that this place is popular with not only men, but women too. I was asked by Singha if I would use my phone to grab a QR code and provide a Google review, which I was happy to do, since I was deeply appreciative of this first visit to a BKK gay massage place and Singha. I would definitely rate this one a 10/10.
I headed back to the fancy Central Embassy mall where my hotel is located, and enjoyed an Thai dinner at the mall’s food court, which was delicious.
Ill post more about the rest of my visit in other posts.

PART 2
On my third day in HCMC I wanted to try Aroma Spa. This is situated on the western side of the city, nowhere near any metro station, so it involved a 30- 40 minute ride in a grab car, but definitely worth the effort.
The Spa has a website:
http://aromaspakhang.com/n3.html
which helpfully has pictures of the boys on offer, labelled with their names.
I WhatsApped in advance and persuaded myself to splash out on a 90 minute, 4-hands water massage with a 300,000 Dong supplement each for the guys to cum, which the manager kindly discounted for me to 400,000 Dong for the two to do it. So 3,200,000 Dong in all, but that is still less than a quarter of what I would have to pay 2 escorts in London for just an hour. I chose Minh and Chi Dân. When I arrived at the reception, the manager sat me down and tried to persuade me to add even more of his boys to the mix, but I managed to restrain myself. There was no need to use lockers here. We proceeded upstairs to a spacious room. with two low level massage beds pushed together, and a large bathroom with a jacuzzi style bath, and a flat large oblong bath for the water scrub. You could disrobe and keep all your belongings here in comfort.
Minh immediately stripped naked and using a hand held shower started washing me all over with lots of teasing touches. I then had to lie on the large flat shallow bath for an enervating salt scrub, front and back.
After they had towelled me down they led me to the massage bed and both boys stared kissing my chest, and on we went from there, with exquisite pleasures of sucking, both guys fucking me, passioate kissing, finally both came in my mouth. I thought I had died and gone to heaven.
After that I just had to return before leaving HCMC, so on my last full day I headed back to Aroma at around 5pm. I WhatsApped ahead to book Minh again (who is quite cute, thin and very affectionate) and another more hunky guy with tattoos called Dŭng.
The Grab car journey was about 35 minutes, but in the brightly lit streets of HCMC there is always something to look at.
Once again, when I arrived the manager tried to intest me in additional boys, but budgetary constraints meant I had to decline. On both visits, incidentally, I did not see any other clients at Aroma.
I had the same spacious room again, but this time the salt scrub came after the fun, but we started, again with Minh showering with me and teasing. This time they both fucked me, but also Dŭng fucked Minh while he was lying on top of me kissing passionately. Seeing this was too much for me and I climaxed mid way through, but then they both came in my face later.
After the salt scrub, they but me in the delightful warm jacuzzi bath, and Minh got in with me for some more playing around in the water (which Chi Dăn had done the first time actually, I omitted to mention).
Afterwards, down in the reception, water, cans of a red-bull type energy drink (definitely needed) and some snacks available.
So all in all truly memorable experiences at the place.

I arrived by train from Danang. It’s an 18-hour train ride, but at least half the time I was sleeping and during daylight I enjoyed watching the scenery. I also got a decent meal and coffee along the way. If you have time and enjoy travelling by train, I highly recommend it.
Arrival was around 730 in the morning, so my room at the Alagon City Hotel and Spa was not ready yet, but the receptionist directed me to the pool area, where I had a shower and a change of clothes. Thus refreshed, I consulted Grindr. One message was from an early 30s guy from Singapore staying in a Hotel close by. We had a nice quickie in his room and I set out to explore the city after that.
On a coffee break I chatted with a 21 year old student and we agreed to meet at the cafe where I was sitting. We had a nice chat, then a nice walk and then lunch. After that we went back to the hotel. He was with me as I completed check-in and followed me to my room, so it seems the hotel has no issues with guests. We had no less than three rounds of great sex interrupted by cuddling and conversation. After that we went out for dinner and he returned home.
The next day, I didn’t do much in the morning except enjoying the rooftop pool area and some reading. In the afternoon I visited Adam Spa (Nadam on google maps). It has excellent reviews on this forum and elsewhere. Well deserved as it must be the most aesthetically pleasing gay sauna I have ever been to (once my sight had adjusted to the dim light). There is a steam room, saunas and jacuzzi on the ground floor. On the next floor is a cruising area with several rooms where you can enjoy privacy. On the last floor is a warmish chill out room with an aroma steam room in the middle.
I came around 4 pm on a Tuesday and there were some 12-15 other guests at that time. From late 20s to 60s. I had fun with 4 of the other guests during my two hour visit. Adam Spa is around 6 km from district one. I took 40 minutes to cover that distance by car during rush hour traffic, so next time I go, I will book a motorcycle Grab instead of a car.
I had dinner again with the student from the previous day and we went to the hotel for another round of good sex and a couple of hours of cuddling and sleeping before he had to go home.
On the third day I had an early afternoon hook-up. He came directly to the hotel. It was meh, and the guy didn’t quite look like his pictures, so I let it be a reminder to myself either to meet people outside first or have validated photos or a video chat before agreeing to hook up.
In the evening, my fwb from Bangkok arrived, so for the next 5 days there was no need for saunas or Grindr. We had a good time visiting some of Saigon’s main attractions like the Independence Palace and the War Remnants Museum. We also did a day trip to the Mekong Delta and watched a show in the Opera House. It was dancing and acrobatics in the same style as the Hoi An Memories Show, but not quite as impressive.
There was hardly any smog in Saigon and the city is actually quite walkable with wide sidewalks lined with trees and numerous little parks that also offer a bit of refuge from the otherwise chaotic traffic.
Vietnamese food is really good, the coffee is excellent and prices are lower than in Thailand. hooking up via apps and in the saunas is easy, but judging from my one experience massages are probably not as good as in Thailand. All in all, I highly recommend a visit to Vietnam.

newscene reacted to 12is12 in Good Boy BarI agree with floridarob.
The main function of these forums is to share info, so we could all improve our experiences there.
Whether or not a provider is "special" for someone is neither here nor there, because any paid encounter is a reviewable interaction.
To restrain ourselves from sharing subjective recommendations / warnings regarding providers, is counterproductive and overly pious. As maurice has written, we all know that each review is subjective, and readers decide whether or not to take is into consideration.
Furthermore, some things are not subjective but factual, for example - outdated fotos, misleading sizes and other outright scams.
PS - as most of u know and have written here: providers have no qualms sharing btw themselves info about us.....

Day 10 , last one
We waked up at 6 am, of course it was me who set up an alarm clock, CB preparing for flight spent quite a time in front of the mirror and as result I told him we are skipping breakfast as there’s danger of being late for flight.
He suggested taxi butat morning hour I doubted it will be best idea so we went BTS+ARL way. In airport all went well. Last hugs and discreet kiss on the chin and he went to security and I returned to hotel by the way of Foodland. Today is my last day and finally I’m free to do what I want but it did not work as planned.
Right upon returning to the room an allergy hit me, third bout third month . Sudden swell around right eye and chin. I was prepared with the pill and took it but that in turn made me sleepy so between 10 and noon I slept like a stone. When woke up , at least I looked better and felt better too. At 1.30 meetup with reader in Foodland, our last chance to talk this trip perhaps.
Then stroll to soi where Nature Boy bar is as I wanted to try new Pheromone massage place , hoping I will snatch handsome guy I already spotted few times while walking by. He was there eating something so I decide to return in 15 mins. He was not there , I asked guy on reception if he is available and he laughed – he is the boss and is not giving massages. Ouch ! So I settled for 2nd best. Massage was good , afters could use more enthusiasm but still satisfactory. I left happy even if bit disappointed that boss was not available . Hope next time he will change his mind.
Then rain started so I headed to the room via 7/11 to stock on supplies as I decided to finish this trip with the bang and organized sequence of visits by two of few my most favorite guys of all times. First , at 4.30 was former model X. I did not see him for few trips which he commented upon entry “ I did not see you long time, you are bored with me ? ‘ which was not a case but reason for bit of break was that on our last meeting he committed three sins at once : arrived late . was bit drunk and was rushing though the session like he had another appointment. It never happened before so the I decided to give us a break.
But since I like him a lot in every sense , personality , body , endowment and work ethics I decided that what was supposed his penalty become my own and contacted him as soon as I had chance. Great session and great guy who has good sense of what I want from him. Professional in every sense. Shedding clothing right upon entry and when at one point he went to the loo to pee , he went under shower right after to wash his hose. No rushing this time at all.
He told me a bit about his new girlfriend who apparently doesn’t mind him engage with men from time to time as long as it brings money home.
Normally we would for a meal but I excused myself from accompanying him this time as soon after he left I had another star to arrive , Y.
He used to be in Moonlight but in January he took time off. Was seen by my friend once at Jupiter but it looks that he got some other opportunities and for a moment he is not attached to any bar.
He came with small bag and as it turned it was gift for me , elephant shirt. I was moved, I truly was It’s not a shirt but a gesture !!! If X is professional, Y is super professional who knows how to show appreciation for my multiple offs of him in the past, Last time we met he showed me pics of his home and said that it was partially built with my money – which boy would say such thing even if indeed over years he made some money of me , all well deserved.
Our time today was more romantic than steamy , simply because this is how I wanted to finish this trip and my guy, professional in every inch sensed it and acted accordingly.
So while this trip was of doubtful memorability for few reasons my last day, particularly 2nd half of it was one of best ever. I did not leave Thailand yet and was already thinking about when next foray there may be.
At midnight we went to G’s to eat something, Y went home and I returned to hotel to pack. I had 4 cans of Chang in the fridge so took them to Patpong and gave to one of Freshboys barkers.
There was no problem of getting passing taxi at 1.30 am and in about 30 minutes I was already lining up for security in Swampy. My 39th trip was over and thank God for that. One can’t return without leaving at the first place. Too late for summary today , I will write something , hopefully tomorrow

newscene reacted to roughjock in Phnom Penh & Siem Reap March 2025Brief.
PP Day One: Checked in to my hotel. Opened Grindr and Hornet. Hornet had a few men but I realized most were visitors from Thailand. Grindr I didn't have the same response as I did last year. Much less interest. It's the same story as last year. Everyone is using fake photos. If you are interested and show it, you might be surprised to receive a photo of an older, out of shape man. Drug use has also skyrocketted? Why is everyone asking if I want to inject? I don't recall this from last year. Anyway, I take a gamble and invite a guy over. He's short, very thin, good size dick, uncut. He's a top. He comes over, the sex is okay, but what's nice is that he spends the night. Not only that, he holds me so incredibly close I feel like we might become one. Tangled legs, held hand, everything I need. I invite him over tomorrow and he says he will spend all 4 days with me. (Spoiler: He does not, he gets too busy with his work and we cannot meet again.) Free Sex #1.
PP Day Two: I meet with a friend and we have a few drinks which leads to a threesome with his boyfriend. His boyfriend is quite muscular, 6 inches, uncut, great at sucking dick, and I ride him bareback. The sex is good, but short. Free Sex #2.
PP Day Three: I meet a local friend who I met last year for lunch and to watch Kun Khmer. The fight lasts the advertised 2 hours. It's fun. We go back to my hotel and have sex. It's short, and okay. We decide to go out to the bar that night. We visit Space. He leaves after a few drinks. I sit with the boyfriend of the owner who is friendly and ensures shots keep coming. I meet another local there, who doesn't work at the bar, but turns out to be a moneyboy. I'm promised he's great in bed and well hung. I pay for our drinks and we go to Heart of Darkness. We stay for one drink, it's not very busy, and decide to go home. We ride on his motorcycle to my hotel. The sex is mechanical, he doesn't kiss, he doesn't suck. His dick IS big, but I'm already disappointed. He asks for $50. I'm annoyed. He sleeps over, but I wish he would leave. He jerks me off in the morning and goes to work. He says he will be back, and asks for a gift. I'm beyond annoyed. I play along, getting him to leave without causing a scene, and then tell him that the way he escalated the price and asked for a gift ensured I won't message him again. I tell him that I have no problem financially supporting him within reason, but too bad, you pushed too far and too fast. Sucks to be you! Free Sex #3, Paid Sex #1
PP Day Four: I have a nice staycation inside, and don't meet anybody. The hotel I am staying in tonight does not allow guests anyway (Plantation- best hotel in PP for my money, maybe close is Baitong...) Sexless Day #1
SR Day One: I arrive by bus to Siem Reap. I go on Grindr and find that everyone is a bottom, aged between 18-22, and seeking EXTRADORINARY amounts of financial compensation. Many proudly say in their bio "please take care of me for life." The gull, I think... but they must have an audience. I see a few potential muscular guys that offer massage for between $20-$50 but none are my type. I go to sleep. THANK GOD, as I find out that my hotel charges a $300 USD fee for visitors and will even CALL THE POLICE!!! Bullet dodged. Sexless Day #2
SR Day Two: I go to MEN at night as I cannot have guests. 80% Khmer, 20% tourist. Maybe 20 guys. I am immediately approached by every Khmer bottom. I fuck a few despite not really preferring to top. I watch a massive Khmer guy workout in the gym as I sit by the pool during a break. I wonder if he's staff? Can I pay? He's the most beautiful thing I've seen. He works out, finishes, then GOES INTO THE SAUNA! Hallelujah I think. No. He stands in the corner of the steam room, barely visible, and doesn't want to be touched by anyone. What is he looking for? Odd. I leave for the night after playing with 6 guys. I don't cum. Free Sex #4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9.
SR Day Three: I check-in to my hotel and one of the guys I talked to on Grindr is part of the staff. Awkward. He appologizes and says sorry for not meeting me for drinks and dinner as I offered, he isn't in the mood for sex. I tell him he's clearly a bottom and I don't want sex, I'm looking for a local friend, but he doesn't owe me an explanation. He messages me later on Grindr hoping I have a good stay. From here on out, he greets me and chats with me every time I leave my room. I don't like the attention. Guests are also not allowed here. Great. Sexless Day #3.
SR Day Four: I walk to Sanmai Spa as it has great reviews. It's next to a gay bar in an alley. It takes a while to find it. When I do, I decide against the massage. Two boys are sitting out front and they have to be the most unappealing men I've ever seen in my life. Scowls, acne from head to toe, what's going on? Sexless Day #4.
KEY TAKEAWAY:
- phone theft is still huge in PP, be aware
- drug use with needles is becoming more and more common
- PP you can make friends with locals and get free sex
- SR is all sugarbaby twinks, don't expect free sex as a tourist from apps
- Khmer men really don't understand that you can't charge money when you're ugly... I appreciate the confidence tho...
- Hotels rarely allow guests if its upscale, and many specifically prohibit LOCALS
- breakfast buffets at hotels in SR are NEVER worth it, my god they are awful, even at 5-star properties
- SR is walkable in a day, it's so small
- Arthur and Paul and MEN are both VERY mediocre saunas, but its nice they exist
- Space Bar continues to be the best gay host bar I've ever been to; the prices are cheap, the men friendly and hot, the owner socialable, and nobody rips you off
- standard paid sex is between $20-$50
- If you want to be friends with locals, go to PP

newscene reacted to CallMeLee in April 2025 Bangkok Trip ReportWhen T left that night, I was faced with a dilemma : jump back into the aquatic circus or stay dry and preserve some sense of peace. The idea of weaving through water-wielding teenagers just to end up in a packed bar soggy and annoyed didn’t quite spark joy. So, I opted for the grown-up route ---booked a proper massage at a legit spot near the hotel. The kind where the therapist actually knows anatomy, not just how to flip a towel. Finished off the night with a slow coffee at a quiet café nearby. No loud music, no buckets, just me, a decent brew, and the sight of drenched people stumbling back to their hotels like defeated gladiators.
Next morning, I woke up earlier than expected. Fresh, clear-headed, and with muscles that no longer felt like tangled cables. That massage had done good work. Songkran chaos was still alive outside, but I had errands.
Back to Platinum Mall to finish my small shopping list. Realized I still had a Japanese Yen bills from Tokyo, so I headed to the SuperRich counter at the entrance. Handed my small stash over, but the staff squinted at it and pointed to the slightly softened edge and apparently, a couple of the bills had taken on a bit of moisture. Whether it was condensation or collateral damage from the city’s annual water war, they didn’t want it. No argument. I crossed over to another booth across which looked like it was bank-affiliated (SCB?), and they took it without hesitation. Either they had a better dryer or just less fussed about currency hydration levels.
With some baht added to my wallet, I made my way through the mall, picked up a few things, and had lunch at the food court. Nothing fancy, just solid, uncomplicated Thai food and a cold drink. Simple wins.
Back at the hotel, I mulled over heading to Silom for another massage, but the odds of being drenched on the way weren’t in my favor. Sent a Line message to Ssense --- still no reply. At this point, I was starting to take the ghosting personally. Decided to shift direction and head up to Saphan Khwai for 15M instead. The shop’s a short walk from the BTS, and the route is relatively splash-free if you know how to navigate around the kids with buckets.
JJ seems to be building a bit of hype lately, probably from his OnlyFans fanbase making him rarely available . Picked Boston. Good call. The massage started clinical, in a good way. firm pressure, no wasted movements. As it eased into more sensual territory, he kept things slow and natural. Nothing mechanical, no awkward transitions. Just calm, steady attention and quiet confidence.
Later that night, met up with Raposa again. Getting to Silom Complex was a challenge in itself. Traffic was at a standstill, so I got out at Dusit Hotel and decided to hoof it. Took about 45 minutes weaving through a crowd that felt like half of Bangkok decided to gather on the same road.
Tried sneaking in through the skywalk, hoping to dodge the lower-level madness. Almost worked until we hit a bottleneck near the entrance. Security was turning away anyone carrying water guns, and the resulting U-turns just made the whole thing worse. Eventually got inside and settled in for dinner.
Dinner was decent. Raposa’s favorite pork belly dish was missing in action again. this is starting to feel personal (lol) but at least we had a quiet table and some breathing room. We lingered longer than usual, hoping the crowd outside would thin out. It didn’t.
We ruled out Banana and Jupiter almost immediately. Too packed, too wet, too much. So we threaded our way through to Patpong. Still plenty of playful splashers, and by the time we reached Dragon and Koi, we were both semi-drenched. One of the hosts took pity and started dabbing me dry with paper towels. Slightly embarrassing, but I let him have his moment.
Later, we squeezed into Freshboys. The place was packed. We landed second-row seats, just behind the front stools, meaning a nonstop parade of people pacing right in front of us. Not exactly premium viewing.
Then came the twin dramas. First, a customer with a backpack brushed past and accidentally knocked over two beers on the table next to us. Big splash, loud yelps. The bar staff didn’t replace the drinks, which felt a bit stingy considering the price of entry. A few minutes later, two guys tripped in front of us, unclear who caused what, but within seconds they were grabbing each other’s shirts and looking ready to throw down. Staff jumped in, separated them, and walked them out before anything major happened.
The show restarted and a new batch of boys came on stage. One in particular caught my eye --- Vietnamese, lean build, smooth lines, just the right amount of intensity (number 17). He was definitely aware I was watching, throwing back the occasional look that wasn’t exactly subtle. I walked up and gave him a tip. nothing over-the-top, just enough to signal interest. The room was too crowded to make anything else happen, but maybe next time.
Raposa was also in tipping mode. We realized that our tastes in guys, didn’t overlap. Good thing As it keeps outings like this less competitive and drama free (lol). We wrapped things up, shook hands, and I wished him well for his next leg of travel.
No off for me that night, but I wasn’t bothered.
As for me, Another night in Bangkok ---chaotic, a little soaked, and full of unexpected moments. But then again, that’s what keeps it interesting. Wouldn’t change a thing.

newscene reacted to CallMeLee in April 2025 Bangkok Trip ReportWoke up still wrapped in the warmth of last night. Min was sound asleep beside me, one arm across the pillow, hair a little messy, looking like someone who had zero interest in the Songkran chaos outside. I didn’t move for a while. Just lay there, feeling that rare kind of peace and quiet . When we finally stirred and made our way downstairs for breakfast, he was back to his usual self—quiet, polite, and flashing those soft smiles that somehow made the air around us feel calmer. There was something deeply relaxing about his presence. No demands. Just chill.
After breakfast, he headed off, and I started getting ready to meet his older brother, T, over at the Starbucks in Surawong. Just as I was stepping out of the room, I got a message from him saying he was up and getting ready too.
Down in the hotel parking, the staff were clearly in Songkran mode. Buckets tucked behind the counter, people already a little wet, music playing faintly from someone’s speaker. The housekeeping auntie—who I’ve grown fond of—walked over holding a small container of something grey and smeared it across my cheeks with expert confidence. It smelled earthy, fresh, a little sweet. Later Raposa would tell me it was sandalwood paste, part tradition, part cooling agent, part “let’s make tourists look like locals.” I stayed for a bit, chatting, laughing, letting their playful energy rub off on me.
Over at Starbucks, I grabbed my second coffee and settled in. T arrived looking like he hadn’t yet been claimed by the water war. I got him a drink, and he gave my outfit a once-over—shorts, waterproof pouch, sandals. He seemed satisfied, though he noted I wasn’t packing coins for water refills. He said don't worry he'll be taking care of it. He just quietly handled things and I like that vibe from him. That’s kind of his thing.
We headed through Patpong, which in broad daylight felt surreal. The whole place looked like it was taking a nap—shuttered bars, neon signs turned off, a few shopkeepers hosing down their sidewalks. It felt more like a movie set after wrap than the fever-dream it usually becomes at night.
At Silom, we stopped to get proper soakers. The stall had everything from tiny pistols to full-blown backpack cannons. I picked a decent mid-range one, something that said "I came to play" but not "I have unresolved rage issues." Before I could even reach for my wallet, T had already paid for both of us. He shrugged it off saying I can pay him later, no fuss.
And then came the surprise: we wouldn’t just be a duo. Min was joining us again, along with their younger sister and her Vietnamese friend, who’d flown in specifically for Songkran. The dynamic shifted quickly. I suddenly felt like I was part of a family outing I hadn’t been officially invited to. Two brothers, a sister, a guest. And me—the wildcard.
It hit me for a moment. How do I fit here? Do I introduce myself as the guy who just woke up next to your brother? The one who’s now tagging along with the other one? It was absurd and vaguely hilarious being the mystery guest among siblings. And not just any guest—the guy who's slept with at least two of them. Internally, I panicked. What’s the etiquette here? "Hi, I’m the guy from your brothers’ shared folder?"
But the feeling didn’t last long.
The girls were chatty and disarming. They pulled me in effortlessly. Min, maybe because he was with family, was more playful than I’d seen him—joking around, tossing water like he had a score to settle. T kept checking on me in his quiet way. Making sure I wasn’t lagging, that I had enough water, that I was having fun. He didn’t hover, but he was always near.
Silom was already packed. Buckets being flung from everywhere, hoses spraying down strangers, foam cannons blasting into the air. It was overcast, with a bit of drizzle, which made everything feel cool and almost cinematic. No one was spared. Old women. Kids. Tourists. Everyone got drenched and no one cared. Music pounded from storefronts, the kind of repetitive EDM that makes you forget what time it is.
We walked the full length of the road and back. My shirt clung to my skin. Water pooled in my sandals. I was freezing and grinning like a fool. The crowd was just right—not yet overwhelming, but still electric.
Eventually, back near Saladaeng, the group decided they’d had enough. The girls looked happy, Min seemed ready to hibernate, and the energy had mellowed. One by one, they started to head off. T said he was heading home too—to his own place, which I learned wasn’t the same one Min stays in.
We stood there a bit, just the two of us now. He didn’t seem in a hurry, but he wasn’t lingering either. I felt a pull—not dramatic, just a quiet nudge that said I wasn’t quite ready to be alone yet. Maybe it was how he'd looked after me all day. Maybe I just wanted to end the day on my own terms. So I asked if he wanted to come back to my place instead.
It wasn’t rehearsed. I didn’t dress it up. I just asked. And I meant it in that very specific way where you're not asking for more, but you're hoping the moment lasts a little longer. He looked at me, calm as ever, and nodded. That was enough.
Back at the hotel, we peeled off our soaked clothes and we showered off the grime, the chalky paste, and whatever questionable liquid had landed on us earlier. The hot water felt like a full-body reset. No rush, no expectations. When we finally collapsed into bed, it wasn’t about anything but rest. No deep talk. No big moment. Just two people wiped out from the same strange, happy kind of day.

newscene reacted to spoon in How many guys in rotation? Its always good to keep a bunch of regulars and also keep finding new regulars as you will never know when your top guy will disappear from the scene.
Unless of course if you found the one and made a commitment to be monogamous.
Just this year, ive lost 2 regulars, one of them was my top #1 and both of them have travelled with me. I sooth myself with an impromptu visit to bangkok and tries few more new guys, and i think at least one of them warrant another session next trip. I still hope i might meet the two regulars ive lost this year in the future though, especially if they remained attractive hehe but life goes on.

newscene reacted to CallMeLee in April 2025 Bangkok Trip ReportThe day started the best way any Bangkok day can start: with Nine. Yes, that Nine. Those of you who've followed my trip reports for a while will know exactly who I mean—my long-standing, tried-and-true favourite. Even back in the days when I wasn’t fully sold on Banana Bar, I still showed up for him. Because Nine? He’s worth it.
And of course, he delivered. As always. Same great vibe, same easy charm, same experience that leaves you wondering how he can be effortlessly Delightful.” At this point, we’ve built up a familiarity that just makes everything click. No awkward warm-ups or polite small talk—it’s like catching up with an old friend, if that friend also happens to be very good at massages and even better at everything that comes after.
After our usual post-fun breakfast, Nine gave his customary gentle nudge—reminding me I can always text him if I want to meet outside the bar. Just include the off fee if it’s during work hours, and he’s there. I made a mental note. Having a reliable option like Nine on standby? A luxury worth treasuring—especially for those times when you need to recover from a less-than-great massage session or bar off.
Feeling recharged and smugly content, I decided to get a jump on my shopping list before the impending Songkran madness turned my plan into a splash zone. Off to Platinum Mall I went, armed with a list, a vague sense of direction, and a wildly optimistic belief that my feet would hold out.
Several hours and several bags later, my legs were sending out distress signals. I surrendered, paused for a quick food court lunch, and added in a foot massage for good measure. It helped. Sort of. But my inner hedonist wasn’t quite satisfied.
Enter: Prince Spa.
But first, coffee. Suan Phlu’s midday heat had me on the verge of dozing off on the sidewalk. That’s when I stumbled across a little gem—Nola Café. Cute, cool, and most importantly: they serve fresh beignets. Now, I don’t know about you, but finding hot, fluffy beignets in Bangkok is like finding a unicorn at the mall. For 245 baht, I was treated to six pillowy beignets, each dusted with just the right amount of powdered sugar, paired with a strong Americano that was basically rocket fuel for the soul. It was the kind of sweet, delicious moment that made me forget about the heat and get a little too comfortable in my food coma.
Buzzed and sugar-fueled, I made my way to Prince Spa. You know the ritual—take a seat, sip your drink, stop yourself from choking from your drink and attempt the impossible: picking just one guy from a sea of gorgeous. It’s like being on the judging panel of Thailand’s Next Top Something. Then I spotted him—stocky, toned, with a broad build that reminded me of the Saboten Escorts in Tokyo. I pointed him out, and a moment later, he was striding toward me.
“Hi, I’m Maxie,” he said, flashing a smile that could charge your phone.
Maxie was, in a word, EXTRA. He’s just full of positivity and cheer, and his vibe? Think overly affectionate golden retriever meets flirty cartoon sidekick. He practically bounced into the shower with me, where he proceeded to turn a simple rinse into an aquatic comedy sketch—splashing, laughing, cheeky little nudges.
Then came the massage. And look, “massage” might be generous. It was less “targeted muscle relief” and more “theatre of affection.” Every few minutes, Maxie would pause to nibble, cuddle, tickle, or whisper, “Are you happy?” with the earnestness of someone handing you a newborn puppy. His hands wandered as often as his thoughts, and the whole thing felt like I’d accidentally booked a spa day with an excitable boyfriend.
To his credit, he did dial it up during the extras—suddenly shifting gears into something more sensual. But just as quickly, he bounced back to full Maxie-mode: affectionate, giggly, and absolutely incapable of sitting still. It was chaotic. It was oddly wholesome. And honestly? I kind of low key loved it.
He’s not someone I’d book when I’m in the mood for quiet, slow-burning intensity. But for a day when you want a bit of light-hearted fun and nonstop serotonin? Maxie’s your guy. He made me laugh, feel doted on, and left me in that weirdly specific post-session state of both relaxed and slightly confused.
Back at the hotel, I crashed for a nap—still smiling, slightly ticklish, and with powdered sugar memories lingering in my mind.
Next stop: Atlas Bar.

newscene reacted to Londoner in Relocating to ThailandGood advice. I am in the process of deciding whether to go ahead with my proposed relocation. I'd hoped that my last few weeks in Jomtien would have given me an answer; but no, they didn't, serving only to raise more issues..
And unlike the poster, I have thirty years of visits and a LTR of twenty years to help me make a decision, not forgetting the massive financial benefits I'd reap by selling my London house. For a UK citizen of my age, the decision to relocate would be the most significant by far since I retired; and if I were to go ahead, there'd be no returning home if things went pear-shaped for financial reasons. Medical issues? even more vIsa changes? banking? another coup and nationalist government in Thailand unfriendly to foreigners? Yes, unlikely but possible. The fact is that if I move to Thailand, I die in Thailand.
What became clear a few weeks ago, is that location is one of the most important issues. Jomtien is our preferred location but not anywhere in the vicinity. There are areas that would not be suitable, too far from the sea, isolated in terms of transport, or too "new" and undergoing construction to be to attractive us.
So my advice is to do what I am doing; take your time and, for heaven's sake, make a trial run for few months. Not as a tourist but as a resident. Not in a hotel but in a rented condo where you have to look after yourself and sort out your own problems.

newscene reacted to floridarob in Relocating to ThailandBefore I moved to Mexico, I made a list of pros/cons to each place, I'm from the US .
What won Mexico over for me was:
Closeness to the US, when I need to go back, cheap quick flight options are available.,,, I go back a lot for shopping/visiting/flight connections
Ease of getting residency- citizenship.
I already speak the language.
Ease of opening a business without the requirement of having a national as a business partner.
Easier to escape to Colombia/Brazil when the "urge" arises.
Lot's of horny guys looking for quick fucks, even if they claim to be straight.
Like everyone else said...do your homework before you make the leap.
Meeting gay expats was never on my radar and until today, don't socialize with the ones in my city, I'm friendly with them, however, They love to hang around each other talking about how much money they have or what art they bought, instead of enjoying the young talent.....wtf?

newscene reacted to bkkmfj2648 in April 2025 Bangkok Trip ReportThat was never my intention.
Your not so nice reply to what I wrote is condescending and not appreciated, as you were not at the table with us when we enjoyed each others company for 2 hours.
I am truely interested to hear from actual Myanmar citizens about why this internal conflict cannot end. Only those from within Myanmar would know.
I was quite surprised that I had 4 guys sitting with me from 4 different Myanmar states. They were all jovial and getting along quite well with each other.
I asked them to describe to me why each of their states were better than the other - and it was great to hear them describe how the cuisine in one state was better or unique. We also discussed about the variations in spoken dialects, clothing, rituals and traditions, and sports.
I truly enjoyed our 2 hour cultural exchange.

newscene reacted to CallMeLee in April 2025 Bangkok Trip ReportThe trip kicked off with two nights in Tokyo, and let’s just say it was planned with a certain kind of experience in mind. I decided to treat myself to a couple of high-quality overnight sessions through Saboten Escorts (https://mens-salon-saboten.com/en/staff/ ) And since I figured I’d be spending most of my nights at their location, I cheekily skipped the hotel and thought I’d rough it by using a train station locker for my stuff. It sounded practical on paper and honestly, kind of adventurous too.
That said, reality hit when I realised I’d need to provide a local address on the arrival card. Concerned it might raise some red flags, I played it safe and booked a cheap hostel at the last minute. It worked out well—nothing fancy, but it did the job, and I still ended up saving quite a bit while keeping things simple and efficient.
Kenji:
And here's Taiga:
For both nights, I booked time with Kenji and Taiga, and wow—I lucked out. My sessions ended up being booked in a hotel (Hotel Queen Annex), which might’ve been because the shop itself was fully booked. Whatever the reason, I was grateful. The hotel was spacious and comfortable and both Kenji and Taiga were incredibly warm and eager to please, even with the language barrier. What made the experience even better was the casual time spent outside the room. They were game for dinner and drinks, which made everything feel more relaxed and less transactional.
Honestly, it was the perfect combo of physical fun and chill hangout vibes. I’d totally do it again, but two nights feels like the sweet spot—enough to indulge without going overboard.
After Tokyo, it was straight to Bangkok. I’ll admit—I was a bit nervous that two intense nights in Japan would burn me out before even hitting Thailand. But the moment I stepped off the plane in Bangkok, I felt this surge of energy. It’s that unexplainable buzz you get just being in this city. Immigration was a breeze—no line at all. I got processed and stamped in literally under two minutes. The baggage carousel, however, wasn’t quite as efficient—it took about 15 to 20 minutes before any bags showed up. Not a big deal though; I used the time to get a local SIM card and pull out some baht from the ATM. By the time I got back, my luggage was already waiting for me.
On the way to my hotel via a pre-booked shuttle, I took in the sights and was happy to see things feeling almost back to normal. The driver confirmed that tourism had been a bit slower than usual—probably due to the recent earthquake—but everyone’s optimistic that Songkran will bring a much-needed spike in visitors. Fingers crossed!
This time around, I chose to stay outside of Silom, in the Narathiwas area. It’s a quieter, more residential part of Bangkok—not walking distance from a train station, but it has its perks. The area has everything I need within a few minutes’ walk: a 7-11, some okay-ish restaurants, cafes, and even a laundromat. After the buzz and sensory overload of Tokyo, I actually appreciated the slightly slower pace.
Once I got to my room, I had that usual Day 3 jet lag creeping in. I was really tempted to just crash, especially after the last two nights of near-zero sleep. The bed looked way too inviting. I gave in and let myself have a proper nap, but not before setting an alarm for 9 PM. Jet lag or not, there’s no way I was going to sleep through my first night in Bangkok!

newscene reacted to ggobkk in Time to returnWell, I made it! Thursday morning United Airlines Flight from San Francisco to Tokyo, 5 hour layover, then more hours on the ANA flight to Bangkok. Arrived as Friday turned into Saturday. Using the benefit of being an ancient and following long time ago advice from PaulSF and Reader I bypassed the general immigration area and went to the monk/diplomat/old fart line. Changed some money and then my bag tumbled onto the conveyor belt. Then through the green channel at customs and down one flight to the taxi stand. Checked my watch and found that it had taken 22 minutes from departing the plane to negotiation of the taxi fee and heading to Bangkok.
Quick check in at Quarter Silom. Decided to not unpack but, rather, to see what was up and happening, I thought I’d read that the closing hours were extended to 2am. So out of the hotel, soi 6 had a few guys sitting across from the dark Tawan (need to put the new name into my memory), noted that the Coffeee Grinder Silom space was up for rent. Massage emporia darkened, many with the foot massage chairs occupied by sleeping staff. Patpong was a clatter of booths being dismantled and Tuk Tuk availability being shouted. Tuned onto the next street which features a dispensary much better lit than the ones in California.
A bit surprised by the aggressiveness of the “women” at the new bar (I’ll have to get the name and put in my next report). One even grabbed my arm and forcibly blocked me from forward progress - I had to push her away.
Hot Male Bar and the grabber for the show were busy, I put off checking out the show which I thought might not be too busy for Mr at 1am.
Went to Good Boys which in its former life was always one to stay open as long as possible…it was open and crowded….very crowded. And, I came to understand what it must be like for Vinapu, PaulSF, and Reader when they arrive after a time away. At least 40 boys on stage or in the club. Several were formerly at Banana,Hot Male, etc. and knew me then and the Vietnamese who remembered me well enough to surround me and provide much fondling, kissing, etc. I bought a few drinks and the crew around me expanded - it was clear that the Vietnamese had decided to keep others away and my eyes from wandering, which they were going. A benefit to this was when the big cock show ended and the wandering for tips for wanking headed my way, my Viet security staff blocked them from getting to my person (wallet).
All this while, the stage acts kept changing, divas, drumming with personal equipment, more divas, all the boys on stage, and I had a very good back massage. While viewing At 2am, staff start bringing in the furniture that had been outside, lights go up, and it seemed that private going’s on continued. I noticed one table of two straight couples (guessing, which I shouldn’t do) had a dozen boys drinking with them.
I tuned down multiple offers of night company, including one boy, who told the manager that I was offing him. I note here that there was one boy who was with another farang . One of the Viets noticed this and did a yeoman’s job of blocking my view. I left when most of the boys were departing, I gave the object of my attention a Vinapu red note with a practice Vinapu tug. His name is CoCo from Cambodia, and we will meet up night. One of the boys who I’ve known for some time insists on walking me back to the hotel. I tell him, I don’t want anyone tonight as I’m jet lagged. He says he understands. We settle on a gratuity for services and we walk back to Quarter Silom. When we pass The Tarntawan he goes to turn there, which tells me that my habits were a matter of recorded memory as for many a year The Tarntawan was my hotel of choice.
After a couple of rounds of discussing Vinapu’s stamp collection and two showers. My guest accepted his gratuity, asked for a tip, after hearing “no, tried the taxi tactic. Again no, then we both laughed as I said that if I over tipped the first night in town, the word would get out and my expenses would expand. He laughed pointed out that I’d managed to avoid the off fee and confirmed with another laugh and smile that I was correct in the word of mouth as he’d already had texts about our encounter. We exchanged Line info, and he gave me the bar tag #s for CoCo, himself, and someone he thought I’d like. The sun was beginning to emerge as he emerged from the building. I have not put in his name, real/stage, as he is a Viet who kisses, sucks, bottoms, and tops. Qualifications rarely found over many many years of Viet boy experience.

newscene reacted to Shax in Ho Chi Minh MB SceneHey guys.
Just thought share a brief report on my recent trip.
Bars
I went to 2 bars during my weekend trip; Frolic & ChinChin. It was pretty packed on Friday night in both bars, celebrating the start of Pride month.
On Friday night, I was at Frolic first, before going to ChinChin later that night. Frolic had 2 gogo boys dancing as opening for the drag show. The crowd was kind of a mixed bag in terms of age and local vs foreigner. People tend to stick to their own click at first, until the alcohol and whatever they were taking in from the balloons kicked in. Frolic also has an entrance fee for Saturday night (around 100k VND, I think), which does not include drinks.
I only went to ChinChin on Friday night, and it was pretty late by then but the crowd was still pretty big. The vibe I get from ChinChin is that it's more for the "bougie" crowd. The bar's set up gives off a more upscale feel, and the guests actually dressed up decently. Again, people tend to stick with their own crowd, and there are more locals here with maybe the odd few foreigners. But the guys were, IMHO, hotter than the those in the Frolic crowd 😅.
Sauna
I only went to one sauna, Nadam. It was a Saturday evening (around 5pm) and there was pretty big crowd, with varying ages. Though, I seem to be the only non-oriental looking guest from what I can see. A lot of guys with great bodies there. The crowd tend to be more reserved, with a few guys giving a grope if they're interested, to see if you are too. There is a pretty well equipped gym, and the layout of the sauna provides for different areas (multiple lounging areas, saunas (including steam room, hot & cold jacuzzi) are on the ground floor, with the mazes on the first and secord floor. The entry fee was less than 100k VND if I'm not mistaken. Saunas are not really my thing but if you enjoy it and are into oriental asians, this would be a good place for you.
Online MBs
I received several offers on the apps (Grindr and HeeSay), ranging from 500k VND to 2 mil VND depending on what you want. There are surprisingly more gym fit MBs than the twinkier guys.
My experience hiring one of the guys was, unfortunately, not that great. The guy looked masculine with a gym fit body in the pics, but in person he was more effeminate. When I showered, he went ahead and helped himself to the snacks and drinks I had in my room...without asking me. I didn't realise it until after he left. The service itself was rather mediocre, so all in all, it wasn't really a good experience.
But I am eagre to come back and explore a bit more of the HCM scene. I met several amazing local guys over coffee and some of the expats I met at the bars. Looking forward to my next trip.

newscene reacted to vinapu in Vinapu's Boot Camp - short trip of may 2024Day 8
As it turned out neither bkkmfj nor me had breakfast companions so he invited me to use fact that his breakfast included in room rate was for 2 people. Then I visited Silom market, post office on Charoen Krung and XOne to make last money exchange and returned to the room .
At 12.30 we were supposed to meet with reader at Unesco but they were surprisingly busy and reader suggested we move to some coffee place on Suriwong past “Tawan corner”. This was our last chance to trade news as tomorrow I’m taking off at noon. Very handy meeting place and substitute for sadly demised and short lived CofeeGrinder.
From there bkkmfj and I decided to go to Arena warmly greeted on arrival by veteran mamas an Art and usual cabal of hunks trying to bring attention to themselves. Fortunately each of us had different favorite so we did not need to compete. Mine was Tawan sized hunk, strong and very anxious to make good impression so both parts of massage ritual were great.
On my way to hotel I stopped by KFC in Union building on Silom and bought 500 baht bucket of their treats because this is what I was asked/ ordered to do by my 4 p.m. visitor who is great fan of that fare.
He is guy not from the scene and discreet to the extreme. Working shifts, so our usual agreement when I’m in Bangkok is that he tells me when he can come and for how long and on my side it’s yes or no. Sometimes is on very short notice , sometimes few days in advance but main thing is there is no drama at all. If we can ‘t meet at time when he is free , we will try next time which may be next day or next trip or something in between.
When comes to discretion Raya is the best with her card access , bypassing the reception. We met downstairs when he lined me is is arriving
Bkkmfj was anxious to see my guy and I did not want any hint of indiscretion so I advised him to sit by elevator pretending to scroll through his phone and when we emerged from elevator we just walked by like some stranger was there. Inspection done, door closed, fun started.
As in January he surprised me with the kiss- it took me a while to extract on and that in January was our first ever and thing only to got better and hotter , of course with interruption to taste that KFC treats. Today he had only 4 hrs for me and at 8 as arranged originally he left taking about half of that bucket with him.
I got 1 hr to tidy room over, run to 7/11 to buy more beers as at 9 O, masseur from 2 days ago was supposed to show up for our first ever overnight. It was only because our common forum friend who saw him last month told me that he feels O will be amendable for LT session. In fast he was quite happy to agree when I asked and so at 9.00 I got a message ‘ I’m arrived “.
So another run downstairs to bring him in and my farewell with Thailand started. Known quality but it looks that perspective of long time ( perhaps also related tip) and few beers he sampled energized him and he turned up to be as busy and energetic as N few night ago.
Exceeded expectations is the best description as I kind of knew him as being bit on serious and quiet side but that was not a case tonight. We were fake boyfriends and ones who like each other company immensely. At one pint even he dared to ask question ‘ do you ever sleep?” . Honestly I wonder if we meet again in the future and for sure we will , will he be willing to try another LT with me ?.
My last off this trip was her crowing event. In the morning sad reality settled down that not only day 8 is over but whole trip. Summary tomorrow

newscene reacted to Moses in Ho Chi Minh MB SceneNadam (Adam) spa. 25-40 USD massage (depends on massage type) + min 20 USD tips (paying at time of checkout, in room you just fill number in bill). You can't off, only onsite "games". If you are below 60yo and aren't fat, then I advise to visit labyrinths and pool at first, you may get everything for free there - a lot of willing guys. Peak hours are 3pm - 6pm, by weekends - from noon.
Gogo not exists in VN, even host bars don't exist. Gay bars and clubs in VN are meeting places.
HeeSay is most populated app. Typically, after landing in HCMC, at first 24 hours I receive about 100-120 offers of "massage". Highly advise to discuss service clearly in advance, because you may get exactly massage and nothing besides massage. Prices vary and are negotiable, videocall is a must since HeeSay is known for fake photos in profiles.

newscene reacted to bkkmfj2648 in I may do a side tripI just returned from 12 days in Da Nang, Vietnam - as I needed to escape Thailand's Songkran water splashing madness.
I LOVE Da Nang - a mid size city right on the South China Sea with little to no pollution as the winds from the sea keep things fresh.
I live in Jomtien, Thailand and I found that Da Nang from a financial point of view to be between 20% to 30% cheaper than what things cost in the Pattaya area - I believe that is because the VND - Vietnamese Dong currency is not doing well at the moment.
I hired a local gay guide to show me around and he was great - DM me if you want more info about him. No sex - but a great kind guy who has his own car and could take me out of Da Nang to nearby Hue (to see the imperial city), Hoi An where we went to the nearby off-shore island of Cham to do snorkeling and on return to Hoi An proper we visited the unique coconut island water farm in those typical round circular Vietnamese boats (this was one of the highlights for me on this trip to Da Nang).
The other thing that I did was rent a motorbike for several days and I just LOVED driving out of Da Nang up into the surrounding hills where you have an amazing view of all of the beaches and the Da Nang city skyline off in the distance.
Da Nang has 1 gay bar = https://www.facebook.com/qbardanang1
I did not visit it as I was too busy touring around and getting my daily massages in my lovely 22nd floor AirBnB that overlooked the entire South China Sea.
To meet guys, the number ONE app is BLUED - now renamed to HeeSay. Hornet is not big in Vietnam like it is in Thailand. and then there is Grindr (which I hate).
Just from the HeeSay app alone - I received over 300 messages in 12 days - truly off the scale - for sex, dates (even for just a romantic walk on the Da Nang seaside), massages, and general queries.
Food was great and my gay tour guide turned me onto a different type of Vietnamese coffee - which is called - Cà Phê Muối = sea salt cream coffee - this is now my MOST favorite Vietnamese coffee.
so, I guess I need to do a trip report - how do I hate those - as they are so much work to write a proper one with maps, photos, info, etc. - but I will do it eventually.
