  1. It appears the closest subway station is Metro Line 3 Red.
  2. Traced it ... see also new topic.
  3. It is beyond me why the new address is not posted on social media ... and why the now closed address was posted on the banner ads for Jan 25th when the new address is obviously established. It appears that the new name is Thermas 555 (I think with the ‘h’), but I cannot make out the address from the verbal announcement.
  4. Unprotected sex is driven largely by libidinal preference among clients, not inherently exploitive, sometimes tempered by risk assessment. Among commercial sex workers, consent is driven by financial reward, (notwithstanding variations in exigencies of survival) and accurate risk assessment is directly proportional to access to information not diluted by ignorance and misconception. The Brazilian government, as you well know @likeohmygod, is working hard to suppress sex education at a time when serious sexually transmitted infection is spiking. In concert with gaps in vital knowledge, condom use among young males is often stigmatized and ridiculed as weak and unmanly. Such dynamics in general, prohibition via insane moral arguments based on “othering”, resulting in withdrawal of funding for education, actually has the flavour of Nazi Germany to me. Many garotos de programa distance themselves from the identity of homosexuality while buying into messages that STIs thrive only among gays. Many are behaviourally heterosexual outside of trade. Unprotected sex is often both a counterphobic defense and messaging about ‘disease-free’ stock value and adventurousness. Capitalizing on this profound state-sanctioned juvenile ignorance and naïveté is only exploitive, sex tourism at its worst. Perhaps some clients screen for sexual illiteracy but I doubt that is the trend. Your encouragement of condom use is certainly on point.
  5. The pushback against barebacking is about visitors’ overall social contract with Brazil. It is not Christian Right proselytizing about sex. The Rio Metro subway, for example, has established dedicated car stock for females during rush hour. Riders can see the pink doors, a potent cue, and put together very quickly the rationale, based on episodic misogynistic groping of women in crowded spaces. The context of exceptionality, for example a harmless gay male, is irrelevant. A squadron of military police is not needed to enforce a measure that stems from sociological realities. Common human decency supports adherence. Any rule-breaker can expect stink-eye. We foreigners willingly comply. Condoms are routinely dispensed, at cost or small markups, in the beloved establishments where we purchase commercial sex. This behavioural/social cue, introduced at the juncture of a sexual encounter, is solidly underpinned by epidemiological data regarding the entire spectrum of sexually transmitted infections. It denotes the social contract of supporting population health and well-being. It is an implicit expectation that everybody “gets it” and complies. Along with the whole range of STIs, PreP (for HIV) exemptive exceptionalities have less relevance due to the exploding rates of undiagnosed syphilis and the thousands of heartbreaking cases of gestational and newborn congenital syphilis infection now outpacing the transient Zika outbreak by at least 10-fold. The military is not going door-to-door educating households. Based on syphilis detection among new young military conscripts, 1/50 overall and 1/20 for MSM experienced, it is not a stretch to assume a high rate of undetected syphilis among garotos de programa. Many of these guys are making babies. The country has also been plagued by shortages of the penicillin subtype that penetrates the placenta barrier. Otherwise, relatively easy to screen and treat, at least for us at home. The condoms at Lions et al are the initial index or cue outlining our social contract. This syphilis-infected newborn, among thousands not miscarried or stillborn in Brazil, missed out on parental screening. A neglected or overlooked social cue at the end of the cascade effect of unprotected sex ...
  6. @Ejay106, it is difficult to ascertain where your head is at regarding unprotected intercourse. With so many readers here you can expect responses based on both the celebration of sexual play and the liabilities of condomless sex. On the one hand or extreme, you may be a diehard Bareback Brotherhood member and not interested in hearing about alternative perspectives. On the other hand, you may not be fully up to speed on relevant Sexually Transmitted Infection information and its sobering reality among at-risk socioeconomically deprived commercial sex workers, eg in Brazil. Your ‘covenant of love’ philosophy would have us believe that a sexual libertarian stance is counterbalanced and accompanied by a strong valuing of the wellbeing of your intimate partners. Sometimes a question is disguised as a presentation or an assertion. In this case, the barebacking depiction may be an inquiry ... Inquiries are welcome here.
  7. There is no indication the location is changing. What we know is that there is a marquee event Jan 25th, suggesting Fragata will run as usual into the New Year. It may be a ‘code blue’ with rumours of its impending death not greatly exaggerated. Maybe not (dbl negative). Fun to forecast, pointless to predict.
  8. I wish them no harm and I would support the idea of clients surging up towards Lapa long enough to give the cubs a fighting chance and establish a new set point of inventory, but the iPhone prize gambit sounds like desperately selling off the Crown Jewels, as if the “poison pill” already referenced weren’t enough. How much would I hedge here? ... 117 chaps filing into Monik’s; Lions filing under chapters 11 & 7.
  9. Looks like a reboot is in the works. I think in this case lugar does not literally mean a new address.
  10. The most endorsed ideal body type preferred by gay men at the level of pure physical attractiveness is the muscular build, ie mesomorph somatotype, not just definition but mass. This is incontrovertible. Generally, the much smaller proportion of gay men preferring the slender build, ie ectomorph somatotype, is drawn to defined abs and well-developed butt. Those features are less dependent on overall muscularity. Beyond body type but more facially related, eyes and jawline are important.
  11. The discussion seems to touch on quantitative versus qualitative. An uneven ratio in the brothel setting poses the conundrum of exponentiality. A ho:john ratio of 3:1 requires an average john commitment of 3 programas for each provider to leave with a minimum paycheque. If the average bottom-line earnings expectation for sustainability is 2 programas, the average consumers’ hire rate for the same inventory ratio climbs to 6 tricks per visit. No gawkers, no time-wasters, no middle-agers appropriating the bar for peer socializing because they are invisible in conventional gay clubs. The garota brothel ratio is closer to 1:5 but the providers, unlike garotos, are not hampered by the diminished return of consecutive chamber bullets in the context of expectations for objective physiological evidence of authentic arousal. The hetero clients are there for one purpose alone, yet patron volume relative to provider inventory seems to be vast and supports the notion of quality over quantity despite the absolute numbers of working ladies.
  12. Models today are social media advertisers. There is greater status and safety compared to tricking. The instant gratification of ego-boosts may seem shallow but is more humanized than the brothel setting. Idealized macro-influencers such as Ronaldo offer role-modeling. I think it is possible that, while each post offers an audition for discovery and the dreamscape of potential increase in access to fame, the financial gain accrued by nano-influencers (let alone micro-influencers) relative to labour-intensity supersedes that of brothel earnings. Moreover, companies paying stipends for social media product placement are expanding their marketing to the nano-influencer subgroup and are not lowballing according to geo-specificity and wage demographics. The compensation differential for Brazilian escorts is not replicated in the clothing, sports etc industry.
  13. What prior difficulty? The requirements for a visitor visa are the same as before, with a rejection rate < 15%, better than some highly developed European and Commonwealth nations. Mercosur ... non-Muslim.
  14. Invisible Life is now listed on Rotten Tomatoes for theatrical release this week.
  15. Forget the guy in the poster ... here is why everybody should drop their holiday plans and be among the first to bear witness to Lions’ resurgence: IMG_2163.MOV
  16. Forgive me if this is buried somewhere on the forum, but I am curious about whether the garotos de programa currently pay a facility entrance fee there.
  17. Junior is great, one of the best ever there. Few guys interest me in both roles. Also advertises. I hooked up with Marcio a few times not too long after he first came in from Rio Grande do Sul (or maybe it was Santa Catarina state). He seemed a little tentative but certainly aimed to please. Stunning natural build. I find Gabriel less warm but he does not disappoint as a power top. I actually don’t mind variety in personality types.
  18. I am not seeing that trend on Booking.com, but a few 5* with rate increases higher than the handful of hotels I have used and that have modest increases. The important thing is that you know what you want and whether to commit. Good luck.
  19. Hotel rate increases are not nearly commensurate with Airbnb and similar platform rate increases that are astronomical during Christmas-Réveillon and Carnival weeks. The hotel room inventory is about 10-fold the volume of Airbnb, swelled way above needs-as-usual as a result of construction for World Cup and Olympics, and does not nearly reach 100% occupancy for Carnival. The lovely 4-star hotel I obtained for friends coming to visit in Nov 2017 (I had my fave small apartment nearby) is going for 3,000 reais total for 7 nights Feb20-27, about 15-20% more than I paid for that low-season period two years ago. Adjusting for currency depreciation in my favour, closer to 25% more for a national. While Airbnb owners inflate their profits twice a year due to demand, hotels seem content with the bottom line of much higher occupancy during those periods. I am sure you can find rate outliers with exorbitant increases, though, and you may need to be flexible about location.
  20. Kkkkk ... Clube11 should be nuts tomorrow, I think the previous time prize money was only 1st place R$500, and this time is closer to Xmas. And with free cabins all the time. I would be collecting phone numbers like crazy.
  21. Assuming the lower area was a stretch known as “downtown (or lower town) cobblers” with Av JJ Seabra running through it, I would not walk there at night. I stayed in a hotel marked ‘Htl’ in green and walked to Pelourinho and back, or down to Clube11, in daylight but after dark in particular is courting trouble. You would also likely need your phone out for GPS guidance.
  22. “A Little Life”, Hanya Yanagihara, 2015. Darker themes, long, but a bestseller.
  23. LOL, I know, that is what led me to the Instagram and eventually to research Parahyba. We appreciate you taking the Manauense plunge into the ofurô.
  24. Actually, Parahyba does definitely have GdePs, referenced in a few places, and another clue is it follows Ofurô (Manaus) on IG. It has a slick website, likely a well managed venue.
  25. Cramming the cute guys in ...
