One way they remember me at Silom Soi 2 (dj station) is that, some years ago, I slipped on a greasy slope there, smashed the beer bottle on the floor and needed stitches. My last few nights in Bangkok I wasn't feeling 100% so I didn't take anyone back to the hotel. But at the end of a trip I always have a mental list of which men have treated me right and deserve an off or a bigger than usual tip. On Sunday night it was quieter than I expected but I prefer that to it being jammo these days. If anyone is new to that Soi customers do need a passport, either on their phone or real to prove their age - over 20 last time I checked. Even I was checked the first time I went and I was 59 but they seem to know me now. And I never went, in this trip, to Silom Soi 4, or Hotmale or Jupiter or Banana. But I have been to all of those multiple times before and they're all worth a look. On Tuesday my flight from BKK to DOH was at 21.05. At 17.00 the rain was heavy so I ordered a Bolt taxi, not wanting to stand on Surawong getting drenched while trying to flag down a cab. Bolt arrived about 17.25 but Bangkok was traffic locked down at rush hour in the storm and it took 2 hours to get to BKK. Starting early was the right decision. BKK is a good airport and I was in the lounge in the new terminal with a farewell red wine in 40 minutes. Again using the e-gate so no exit stamp. Goodbye BKK for about the 56th time in 14 years.

The Pride Parade did start eventually, over an hour late, after the rain had slowed to a drizzle instead of a torrential downpour. People in it had put a lot of effort into their costumes and decorations so they deserved to be seen.

Once in Boyztown a money boy attached himself to me, uninvited, and got in the songthaew with me to ride back to Jomtien. I told him that I was also looking for money for sex (aged66!) and he got out and disappeared.

I left Pattaya on 19th June and there were plenty of young men in Jomtien who are eager to meet customers. Boyztown is somewhat quiet.

I have found it fun but my experience is many young men sleep a lot too so agreeing on the same time cycle can be an issue. If we want to start the day at 8am and the guy thinks 4pm is the right time to get out of bed we're not on the same page.

I've got lazier about visiting other towns in Thailand over the years, often settling for Bangkok and Pattaya, so I booked a flight to Khon Kaen for 3 nights. I always like places in Isaan. It's more low rise and spread out than I expected so I've used Bolt a lot to get around. Always prompt and efficient, except when I got caught in a thunderstorm yesterday at rush hour teatime and the app said a 19 minute wait so I started walking back. I stayed at the Romantic Hotel for about £16 a night so I don't know how it's making any money. Tuesday night I went to the Tawandang, which, as many of you will know, is a big pub/club with tables and an Isaan music/dancing show. I walked the 2km back to the hotel at midnight, occasionally fending off guard dogs. I didn't expect much re men and found Hornet much busier than Grindr here. But it was on Grindr that I found a 21 year old university student who was looking for extra income and we met up Wednesday night for a long chat in a music pub and a session in bed back in my room.

US citizens get 60 days visa exempt normally, if it's just a holiday. So you need to do nothing. Only frequent or business travellers need to think about a visa. During the 3 days before arrival you need to complete an online arrival form, a DTAC. This is not a visa.

Well one guy was working massage at BBB Inn, which had a very strict boss, so getting the time off would be an issue, and the other was freelancing and never had any money. I think these days, in high season, they could find the money for the bus, though it's not that attractive to do it for the day. My sense with the Vietnamese guys is that going for a little 'holiday', like one night in Pattaya, isn't in their list of priorities, even when they have money. Sending money to their family, debts, rent, visa runs, sickness costs, smoking, hanging out with their mates, parties, new clothes, all come first.

I have taken men away a few times. It can be fun, though expensive, as I usually pay them 4000bt a day, and the bar wants the off fee, plus travel and expenses. I once brought 2 men to Pattaya but ended that after one of them ordered a 6500bt lunch for three of us while I was at the atm. A happier memory is taking two young Vietnamese men from Bangkok to Pattaya for one night and their smiles as the taxi accelerated on the highway and they realised they really were going to the seaside.

I've always had an interest in the law. When I have had arguments with banks in the past I tell them that my father is a solicitor. This is a naughty lie, though it did help to get £100 out of one bank. Indeed my father was a solicitor but he died 72 years ago. He smoked a lot and had a heart attack at the age of 37 so I have no memory of him. Today I get a taxi back to Bangkok. Thoughts of travel to new places (Khon Kaen??) have been overtaken by the fact that two of my favourite men are in Bangkok, one Vietnamese, one from Myanmar. Both are good at kissing. I doubt Khon Kaen can compete.

In a bar a few nights ago I had just bought a Lao man, who I've known for years, a drink when the police arrived and arrested all the foreign workers, about 5 of 7 staff. I'm not saying where as talking about a business losing most of the staff might count as a negative review. That would be defamation and breaking the computer crimes act, as one guy found when he posted a negative review of a Thai hotel, the hotel complained and he spent 2 nights in prison. The hotel dropped the charges or it would have been more. The police took a photo of my bill where I'd bought the man a drink. Happily I was not arrested for conspiring to cause a Lao man to work but there's time yet, if going to bed together is work. The man has not replied to my message so it's not looking good. I haven't much to report, otherwise. I have seen some money boys, been stood up by one MB twice (1. sleeping 2. working; am I crazy for giving them a second chance? Yes.), seen old friends, played pool, watched the show at Best Bar and Gus Bar, noted that the chairs and umbrellas on Dongtan beach are closed on Wednesdays and enjoyed meals at the Pirate Cafe and Cheap Charlies.

For my first night in Jomtien I was still tired from spending so much of the previous night kissing the Myanmar lad. But I managed beers in 3 bars. At the first one the waiter swiftly winkled a boy drink out of me and offered to fuck me without a condom. I have finished my remaining prep so this is not going to happen. I had a walk through the complex and was sad to see 4t bar shut, though I had read the owner was not continuing the lease. Last night was the best so far, though very understated. I took off, just to drink, a Cambodian man from Dream Boys who I know from the past. Some 18 months ago I took him to Pattaya and to Phnom Penh for 3 nights in each place. He had never been on a plane and never been to his capital city. Please do not tell the men that once I have had a few drinks, if they tell me they have never been on a plane, I am liable to say: 'let's go!' The two men I have done that with so far read every word of the safety card. It was nice to play pool with him but the night was about to get better. I popped in to Freshboys at 22.45 to see the men, who are briefly on stage around that time in an interval in the show. Then to Goodboys where I took off a Myanmar man for short time. He was so good at kissing that it was 10am before he left and he seemed pleased with his tip. It made me realise again that I can be completely happy with kissing and cuddling for ages and I should welcome this change rather than think I have to perform 'sex' every time. Both of us having an erection is reinforcing but I don't need an orgasm very often. This may seem odd to you younger ones but it's my reality now.
