I’ve done Qatar Phl-Doh-Bkk. Agreed, great way to go. Did it in Business. Mr usual route is Mia Dallas Hkg Bkk on American. Sometimes thru Tokyo. Last couple of trips I’ve done Boston Hkg Bkk on Cathay. I try to stay with One World as I have high status with AA and lots of perks. Being retired I can fly mid week which helps keep fares down. I also spend time in Hanoi and use Qatar for that from Bkk. Short flight but great service.

As of a couple of weeks ago he wasn’t even in Thailand. He has a way of taking a simple story and turning it into a best seller. I suspect there is truth to the story, but how much, I’m not sure.

This is mostly just in the US.

I fly to Bangkok out of Miami. I will admit I’m a little particular about what airline I fly. I don’t just go for the lowest priced flight I can find. I look for fares I can upgrade or buy Premium Economy. Brazil in coach is easy 8 hours. Bangkok in coach is 24 hours. Not so easy. Last December I got a $725 fare. In February I got a $850 fare. It’s just our summer months that fares go up.

But June,July,and August are high season in the US. This is what the airlines look at. I have the same issue going back to Bangkok. Fares now run $1500-$2000 . Then September 1st, I can get it under $1000.

I was in Hanoi a few weeks ago. The apps were alive with willing and able boys. I wasn’t looking to hire, but got many hits from boys that wanted to meet up. I prefer Hanoi to Saigon just for the big city difference. Saigon is like most other big cities and Hanoi is still old world. Sightseeing is very good. If your going for gay fun it’s mostly limited to what you can find on the apps. Both big cities do have a few Massage places though.

I used Uber many times and Grab a few times. I think Grab is going thru some growing pains with the quick change over. The fares definitely went up. Also the pickup times are a bit longer.

Who determines who are “better quality” boys ?

Most of the bars and gogo’s are in the section that will be open.

Keep in mind when you say “Twilight is going thru lean times” that it is now low season. Twilight has had a fairly successful winter season. During the Songkran week they were turning people away, The other night someone mentioned FreshBoys seemed quiet. But in fact about 25 boys just before show started and 8 left when 2nd show started. Most of us go by what we see at that moment. Sometimes you need to see the whole evening picture. Things aren’t always as bad as first impression.

It will be cut in half very soon. Then the open half gets another year. Next April.

Most have shows at midnight. But you have to be careful now that it’s low season. If not enough customers, there will be no show. Your probably safe on Friday and Saturdays having shows, but rest of week is now hit or miss.

Funny thing about it. Bangkok is farther, but more often than not, cheaper. I live in Ft.Lauderdale and Brazil is an easy trip. But for the past 5 years I have been spending 6 months in Bangkok and 6 months in Florida. I’ve stopped going to Brazil. I easily get fares for under $1000 to Thailand. Brazil can be twice that. Airbnb is half the price of Brazil. The entertainment factor in Bangkok is way ahead of Brazil. I had great times in Rio. I met TotallyOz down there. I am hoping to get back there soon. But now in retirement my money goes much farther in Thailand. I also spend time in Vietnam which is half as much as Thailand and a beautiful country.

Tonight Twilight got off to a great start for the holiday weekend. By 9:30 Dreamboys was turning people away. Many of those customers went to X-Size and FreshBoys. They had full houses for their shows. Many boys offed tonight. Maxis so full they were sitting in the aisles. At midnight a few people started to try to use water guns, but were shut down by much of the staff on the street. They were told to wait till tomorrow. It will be a financially successful weekend if the next couple of nights are anything like tonight. Lots of spending.

The police have been hasseling them for the last 3 months. It’s been better for the last couple of weeks. I was with several of my Vietnamese friends last night and they didn’t mention anything new happening. I’m headed out now for the evening and will ask around. But I haven’t seen any evidence of boys heading back to Vietnam.

I was told tonight by “a fairly reliable source” that Twilight will be open thru Songkren of next year. So again, time will tell.

Rumor of the evening......FreshBoys is moving to a space above Screwboys about May 1.

Not the world. Plenty of ass available here in Bangkok .

I’ll be back to Ft.Lauderdale April 30. I trade my 90’s from Bangkok for the 90’s of South Florida. Since living 6 months a year in Thailand the Ft.Lauderdale summers don’t feel nearly so bad. My sister and her husband figured now that I winter in Bangkok, the will drive down from Boston and winter at my condo. A sure sign of spring....they are migrating back up north on April 1. And for you Ms. Anne, they will be followed by many other Canadians, New Englanders and New Yorkers. We will get our roads back for the summer.

Here in Bangkok we are stuck on 95 degree sunshine day after day. What’s this snow stuff you mention.

Things were back to normal tonight. All boys back to work. Seemed to be plenty of customers. No police in sight.
