As cute as that picture is, he is much cuter in person. Bangkok has been very busy the last couple of weeks with the lead up to Chinese New Year. For those of you familiar with Soi Twilight, it’s been Doing real well lately. Though more people seem to be showing up for the shows after 9:30 and leaving right after the shows end. Less hanging around bars and restaurants. Lots of boys being offed. Some sad news for those of you who enjoy Twilight. It appears to be closing up for good around June or July. Developers are building a new hotel. There is a little hope things will be delayed a bit as a couple of places still have 5 year leases and aren’t so willing to give them up. Word is around that the gogo and bar owners are scrambling to find new places to relocate, but will never be the same. Way to many people are going to be put out of work. Banana Bar has new place on Soi 4, and Hot Male owner just bought the old Jupiter location across the street, renaming to Hot Boy. Renovating now and hopes to open about March 1. It will be a new era as things will all be walkable, but not all on one street where you can spend the evening just people watching. As I hear and see more I will post.

China Southern offers $2500 business class fares from the US. Cathay is $6000 Hard to compete with that.

Tonight was a very interesting and fun night in Twilight. Many of the boys are leaving starting tomorrow and for the next few days for New Years in Vietnam. Several boys work at FreshBoys and X-Boys. Several of their friends stopped by to say goodbye. They bought some food and beer and started a little party next to FreshBoys. At one point there were maybe 20 boys. They kept running out for more food and appears they know not to get drunk as there was much water and the beer. It was fun seeing them in a different light. We look at them as entertainers in the bars and gogo’s. Tonight you got to see a different side. Boys were hand shaking and hugging as they said their goodbyes. Many aren’t coming back. They all come from the same province in Vietnam and will probably always be friends, but it’s a ritual that I think we all went thru as we grew a little older and headed off in different directions in life. I was at Maxis tonight, so got to be around them . I know many of the boys so got my share of hugs and a few more LINE addresses. I’ll also give a little credit to the Mamasans who are usually all over the boys hanging outside. They let them have their little get together without hassle. They got a bit of free food also. It was later in the evening after shows over and not many customers.

I got to hang out with 6 Vietnamese boys tonight. Twilight was quite busy for a Sunday night. But unlike Friday and Saturday nights the place emptied about 11:30 as all the shows ended. I guess the locals have work in the morning. Last night the dress code eased up and the boys were back in uniform. But tonight it was back to street clothes. The police just can’t seem to let it go this year. These crack downs are usually a couple of weeks, this time over a month. Two more boys told me they are not coming back after New Years in Vietnam. Again tired of police. Also heard a few boys have gone over to Super A. I’ve never been so not sure. But police only seem to bother boys in Twilight. Somebody mentioned Scorpion Bar. Heard right now there are no boys working there. A lot of the Vietnamese boys started there because he would always hire, then they could look around for better jobs. Now the boys have a pretty good network for jobs and don’t go to Scorpion.

As of last nite about 10 Vietnamese boys still working in Twilight. All but one will be gone by next weekend. Little easing from police. The wait staff were back in work clothes, minus ties. Those will probably come back in a day or so. Many boys left early this year because of police issues, but I was told they will start coming back immediately after Tet, as they need to get back to work.

Reading about the police raid tonight in Sunee, the Vietnamese boys aren’t still able to work in Twilight without scrutiny. The waiters are still wearing street clothes and a few boys are in the shows, but not so much in the normal rotation.

I believe you get Nexus automatically with Global Entry.

Considering there are over 50 million foreign visitors entering the US every year there are bound to be a few bumps in the road. But it is getting better as more countries get ok’ed to use kiosks. In some countries you clear customs before getting on the plane. Automation is slowly catching up. This a subject people have complained about for years and will continue to complain about for many years to come. There are places, especially the Middle East where Americans go through a bit of profiling.

But from the other side....many of us have cards that have no foreign transaction fees and don’t have to pay the Thai bank ATM fees. So again it’s not a one size fits all. We all have different situations.

In my home town, short time runs 8000 - 10000 baht. So I can’t even consider 2000 in Bangkok as outrageous.
-
2000 is the going number in Bangkok, especially Twilight. . So he didn’t ask for more than any other nationality would. I wouldn’t consider offering only 1500 . Sounds like you didn’t communicate fee before session. I’m on boys side here.
-
Their tip expections are no different than any other nationality.

I saw it in London to. Glad you remember it. So long ago I couldn’t tell you anything about it.

I have a good friend that works at Jupiter. We had a conversation about the 1000 baht tips. There are always some high rollers around . But the boys know that it’s very few customers that are going to hand them out. So while it’s great if they get one, the boys know it’s not that common, and don’t go to work expecting to get them.

That’s for sure....

If Uber goes, I’ll use Lyft. But for now, Uber is 100% more convenient for me. I’ve used them 100 times without the hint of an issue.
-
I’ll take Uber over taxi any day. When I go to airport next week. Uber $15. Taxi $45. Uber driver gets out and says hello, helps with luggage, and hands me a bottle of water. Taxi driver sits there impatiently waiting for me struggling with luggage. He won’t turn on A/c because he doesn’t like it. Uber takes credit card, taxi driver won’t even though he has machine. No more taxis for me in my town.

How do you fulfill expectations that were never discussed. He told boy he wanted to go to club, he wanted to go dancing, he wanted to go drinking, but he didn’t tell him he wanted to have sex. I know many will say sex will be implied, but I don’t think so. Many take boys out for day or evening without sex being involved. It again comes down to communication. I know the boy he had and I know having sex with a customer is Not an issue. Timing is.- 103 replies

Yes, it’s true. Just before I left a couple of weeks ago, a few of my Vietnamese friends said the police were hasseling Vietnamese boys for most of the month of December. When bar managers knew police were around they would give the night off to many of the boys. A couple of boys that have worked in Twilight for long time told me that when they go home for Vietnamese New Year in February, they will probably not come back. Their just tired of the uncertainty of knowing if they will work or not. I’ll be back in a couple of weeks and find out more. I saw Van the night before I left and he said he was off that night because of police presence. We talked about it a little then he was off with friends.

As usual with most of your post, you have no idea what your talking about. You admit you don’t hire so you really wouldn’t know, If customer doesn’t tell boy he is looking for long time, they expect just an evening date. If you want all night, tell them. They spent 3 or 4 hours together, so 3000 isn’t out of line. Probably would have been ok with 2500. Newscene is a newcomer to the forum. Sounds like he is having a great time. But with any newcomer to the Bangkok/Pattaya scene there is going to be a couple of bumps in the road.- 103 replies

Reader when you say that we All miss Numazus writing is almost true. Unfortunately there are one or two that have to be nasty trolls, that sometimes makes it difficult to share his stories. He is doing very well. He has a very busy career and personal life. It’s been a crazy busy end of year. Hoping the New Year will bring some new adventures and maybe some postings.

Go to. Gaythailand.com. You will get more info. No strip clubs that I know of. Many massage shops. Hornet works well there. As often as I go thru Hong Kong, I’m not doing this stuff. I save it for Bangkok. Just bring lots of money. Not a cheap city.
