  1. Last night was a quiet night . But overall, Twilight has been fairly busy . I was told this will only affect Twilight. Everywhere else should be business as usual. Dreamboys is all Thai so shouldn’t be affected to much. Everywhere else will be short staffed. If it’s worth visiting tonight, that’s up to you and what your looking for. Maybe a good night to try out Moonlight, Screwboys and Jupiter.
  2. A couple of developments tonight in Twilight. Tomorrow night there is to be a heavy police presence. Only Thai boys will be allowed to work. Cambodian, Lao, Vietnam and Myanmar boys were told to not even be in Twilight tomorrow. Possibly 2 nights, but to be determined tomorrow. On the closure situation. Heard from a somewhat reliable source. On May 1, only Hot Male, Banana Bar, x-Size and FreshBoys will remain open. Everything else will be closed and walled off. We’ve all heard all sorts of rumors, but this came from management types and information was given to workers. So I guess we will just have to wait and see.
  3. They have just opened so hiring will be ongoing for a bit.
  4. And yet they are full or close to full every night. Lots of people don’t mind paying.
  5. I have no idea what your talking about. The fact that a Gay board discusses many different subjects. What does that have to do with the survival of the Gay scene? Are we not allowed to talk about anything that is not Gay specific?
  6. If it’s legal currency, the boys will accept it. Obviously they prefer baht, but if customer says I can’t take you because I don’t have baht yet, boy will take equivalent amount in foreign currency. They know where the currency exchanges are. Most of the gogo’ will accept major foreign currency’s, but the exchange rate will definitely not be in your favor.
  7. So what is your point ? Every post you make is negative. So I’m assuming your trying to make a point that gays aren’t allowed to think or talk about anything else besides sex. Why aren’t you discussing your issues with GayButton instead of trying to stir the pot over here. There are others things going on in the world besides Twilight and Jomtien.
  8. Many of my flights get in around 11pm. I usually figure from time plane pulls up to gate till I get to my condo, is about 1-1/2 hours. Immigration, baggage claim, taxi and traffic are usually ok at that hour. Your only issue will be immigration, some nights 10 people and other nights 500 people. This you just can’t plan on. But I’ve been very lucky at that hour.
  9. Tomcal, I have the same situation here in Bangkok. I spend 6 months a year. I have stayed in the same condo for 5 years. I love the location and all the amenities. Everybody asks me where it is and how can they rent it. I never tell anybody. Only ones that know location are the boys I bring home. FloridaRob arrives today. I don’t even tell him.
  10. X-boys dropped their prices first of February. 350. They had a pretty good month. Though It’s hard to tell if the price drop did help business.
  11. Most rent boys in Thailand are NOT skinny/boyish effeminate twinks.
  12. Sauna boys are a low security risk, if they do anything you can report it to the owner and they don’t find work anywhere. They can’t afford trouble. Dealing with boys off the Apps, you definitely need to be more cautious.
  13. Rob, a few of my friends here in Bangkok go to Bali once in a while. They really enjoy it. I’m headed to Hanoi Wednesday but I’ll try to send you a couple of names of forum members that will have some good hotel suggestions. Apps appear to work well there. Little more expensive than Bangkok, but not much more. Good deals to be had.
  14. I talked to a few long timers before they left for New Years. Some said they were not coming back. Police are still giving them problems in Twilight. They can be waiters in street clothes but can’t be on stage. It’s been going on for a couple months now. Much longer than normal crackdowns. Also, they are aware of the impending closure of Twilight. But last night a few of the boys started showing up. About 5 showed up and they said that many more will leave Monday or Tuesday, after the weekend. They all say they came back because they need the money. Some of their friends said they were not coming back, but they think as money runs out and no jobs to be had at home, they will start to show. Time will tell. There were about 50 Vietnamese boys in Twilight before New Years. As of last night, about 10.
  15. If your into using the apps you will be ok. Many MB starting to show up. If you meet up with a local in Ho Chi Minh City, you will be able to find some of the gay or gay friendly bars. No gogo’ s but new bars showing up. Bars are very discrete. Quiet off Main Street locations. Not so much in Hanoi. Lots of action on the apps. Several boys that work in the massage shops also work the apps. But the bar and club scene hasn’t made its way there yet. Vietnam is definitely not Thailand, but it’s a lot better than it was a few years ago. You can’t compare the Vietnamese boys you see in Twilight with what you will find in the big cities in Vietnam. Don’t forget most Twilight boys are straight and all friends from small towns in Central Vietnam. In the big cites of Vietnam there are many gay boys. A little patience and you can have a good time.
  16. But with a sizable donation you can buy your way back in over there.

    Songran Advices!

Just avoid Silom and it’s not an issue. I’ve never had these problems . The only thing I avoid is a tuktuk. You get stuck in traffic and your done for. But again we all have different ideas of fun. Twilight between 5 and 8pm is great fun as the boys that work there have their water battles. Bathing suits and shirtless, just sit back and watch the show.
  18. I doubt owners in Bangkok would move to Pattaya. They have their lives , homes, family and friends in the city. They will find places to relocate or call it quits. While many customers would go to Pattaya, I know of some, including myself that would not. If the whole scene moved to Pattaya my trips to Thailand would probably end or be considerably shortened. But Jupiter, Screwboys, and now Hot Male are out of Twilight. So all is not lost and I think moves to Pattaya are premature.

Not me. I love it. Great way to cool off on a hot day.
  20. But will they fly you to LA from Bangkok when you win ?
  21. I’ve been to Carnival twice. The first is memorable because it was the first time I met TotallyOz. My friend that was with me knew him and we all met up. Many years ago. Now we hang out in Bangkok. First Carnival we had seats high up in the bleachers. Just an amazing time. We made it till about 5 am. Went back for second Carnival a couple of years later. We bought seats in a box at ground level. Up close and personal, felt like you were part of the parade. Unforgettable evening. Now I live in Bangkok for 6 months a year and haven’t been back to Brazil for awhile. But I think a trip back is on the horizon.

    Turning 55 today

And for me, the beaches are so bad, I give up on Pattaya and prefer the bright lights of the city, When I’m not in Bangkok, I live in Ft.Lauderdale. Crystal clear water and lots of sandy beaches. No worries of pollution. I got a bit spoiled by Florida beaches.
  23. For me it will be a sad day. I very much enjoy sitting and people watching in a dedicated area. Great place to meet up with friends. I’ve met so many forum members there. Great starting point for the evening. This past week has been pretty busy. Good to see full houses and boys making money. I know some will spend more time in Pattaya. I’m not a fan so depending on how things turn out, my Thailand trips may be very short lived. The owner of Hot Male has bought Boy66 (old Jupiter). He is renovating and hopes to be open early March. He is going to call it Hot Boys. Plan is little format change. Cross between Twilight gogo’s and New Jupiter. Boys all seem to know about it, but it doesn’t seem to have hit them yet. Many have short attention spans and I don’t think it will hit them till a couple of weeks out of losing their jobs. Those that know me, know I have a good connection with the Vietnamese boys. Many of them have decided not to come back this year after New Years . Some have been in Bangkok 5 years or more. They say police issues making it more difficult, but they are now realizing with closure, getting new jobs will be difficult. A few have already moved to Screwboys and Jupiter. This situation will hit the Cambodian and Laos boys the same way. You put upwards of 1000 people out of work in the same neighborhood, jobs will be tough to come by. Lots of moving parts to this story. So much of it rumor. Will there be a short reprieve? Nobody knows, but in the end I guess closure it is inevitable.

    Dick's Cafe

Not much space in Soi 4 . There are many restaurants there now. Would be hard to open a new one and be successful.

    Dick's Cafe

There are no answers for Dicks or Maxis yet. They will be hurt the most. Much of their business is driven by the gogo’s and bars. With so many restaurant options in Bangkok, hard to think they will relocate unless they find the perfect place,
