The headline is a bit misleading. The army prevents baht buses and taxis from waiting for customers outside shopping malls and hotels. A practice I despise, because in Silom/Sukhumvit/Surawong it goes in hand with refusing to use the meter, and blocks one lane of traffic. One could argue that there is an economical benefit if the car waits for customers instead of driving, but they do so to overcharge unwary customers and inadvertently cause traffic jams (when I have to hail a taxi in Silom/Surawong from the second lane). In other areas (e.g. Ladprao in front of The Mall Bangkapi) however this works fine, taxis standing at night when traffic is light waiting for customers, they use the meter and don't block the traffic.

Top hotels reusing dirty bed linens
ChristianPFC replied to a topic in Gay China, Taiwan, Hong Kong & Macau
Some things don't add up. Why hidden camera? They checked in, then I assume closed the door and put the fluorescent stamps on various items. The report doesn't say they filmed the maid not changing bedlinen and not cleaning bathtub/toilet seat/glass (that would require hidden camera). How do the other members of the team get the same room (that can be helped by asking for a particular view and floor). ----- On a different note, I recently had the misadventure of staying in place (name of place withheld for legal reasons) that had a running water outage in my room and most other rooms. Can you imagine coming arriving after 4 hours of travel, checking into the room, going for dinner, then coming back, turning on the shower - nothing! Water tap - gargling sound! Water hose - nothing! At the end, I used the water hose in the public toilet in ground floor to shower, and the following day the Thai manageress put a bucket of water in my bathroom. She refused to give me a refund, but I contacted the Farang owner and will give me a discount on my next stay. In the meantime, a Farang friend stayed at the same place and reported the same (no running water, and Thai manageress refused to refund the money). -
It's translated from Thai, so the original meaning might be more detailed/subtle/whatever.

You can take van from Pattaya to Bangna (but ask if the van stops at Bangna BTS or goes directly to Mor Chit bus station) and then take BTS from Bangna to Mor Chit, and continue by taxi or bus. Thus you avoid the traffic in central Bangkok. Or take the van to Mor Chit bus station (the van will probably go by expressway, that means you can't get out before reaching Mor Chit bus station, which is a bit from Mor Chit BTS / Chatuchak MRT and always a traffic chaos getting and and out of Mor Chit bus station). If you don't like van, bus from North Pattaya to Ekkamai (passes Bangna and might let you out at BTS). Or bus from Jomtien to airport, and from there by ARL and MRT or BTS. If you have luggage, none of the these is feasible.

I have been on trains in Thailand on estimated 20,000 km, and can summarize my experiences: schedules are just an estimate, it means that there is a train going from A to B, and it will pass the station in the morning / midday / afternoon / evening / night.

No worries. I will be lenient and point out only mistakes that have educational value or are funny.

Thanks for your report. I poked my head in Golden Cock many times, but mostly boys who are not my type, fully dressed. And if I have to lay out money to get the boys to undress, I rather go somewhere where the boys are in underwear from the beginning. Thus I usually end up in Super A when I'm in the area. (Of course there could be an awesome body and a big cock being hidden under street clothes, that I would pay to get my hands on even if the face is just so-so, but I'm not going to buy drinks and tip just to get the boys to take off their clothes.)

I noticed that as well. I recently made the mistake of sending 500 Baht online to a friend (no sex) when he asked me for money for food. I might start buying bags of rice (500 g or 1 kg, so I can always carry one or two bags with me) and hand these out to everyone who asks for money for food. Or take bananas with me (must be a few days before ripe; the ripe will get damaged in my bag) and hand out bananas.

I didn't know there are that many airlines in Thailand. Do all of these really offer international passenger flights? They never came up when I searched for flights in and around Thailand.

That might be so, but if can't be sure that every boy in the bar will go with me if I want him, I will skip that place. A boy will only go with ladies, but not with men? (That includes sometimes, depends on customer, but he wants xxx Baht - a number above the going rate.) Then he can go fuck himself! I won't spend a Baht in his bar. Some bars allow their boys to stuff their underwear, a practice I despise as well but when I notice I'm already in the bar, ordered a drink, closely observed the boys.

This is new to me, thanks for sharing. 3 km by air from Grand Canyon Chiang Mai (an abandoned quarry that filled with rainwater and is used for swimming now).

They will need years to figure out who gets which part of the pie.

I really mean cursed. There is no other explanation for my dating fails. If we leave love out and just talk about sex: I'm attracted to straight boys, half my age (will get worse as I get older), quarter around the world, of a different culture and language. Translation: My love life. I'm the one in blue.

Chao Phraya boat fares rose 1 Baht on 17aug2017 (announcement in Thai posted at Sathorn pier; I rarely go by Chao Phraya boat so I saw it only some days ago).

Babylon: "Newbie Question" from an Old-Timer
ChristianPFC replied to nynakedtop's topic in Gay Thailand
Re Golden Cock and Super A. I have been to Super A many times over the years, and never had any problems with staff, nor observed other customers having problems. Whenever I poked my head into Golden Cock, there was nothing to entice me to buy a drink and stay (low number of boys, none my type, all fully dressed). Nature Boy, apart from a surge with about 10 boys some years ago, the same problem: low number of boys, none my type, skip. But all these bars fill a niche, something that cannot be found in Soi Twilight, and half the price of Soi Twilight. Long may it continue! -

How did that happen? I hope you didn't let them interfere with taxi? -
It's an underpass so cars passing at Sukhumvit / Central Pattaya T-junction are not affected by traffic lights and lanes for cars who turn. In Bankok there are many overpasses and underpasses, and several in Chiang Mai.

I still remember from my first visit to Pattaya, I had ask a boy to show me the way to Sunee Plaza because I only knew the location of Boystown. But now, I go to Sunee bars first and Boystown later, and Jomtien only rarely.

I never had an encounter that involved a knife, or other weapon. That incident in Saranrom was bare hands/feet first, and later he picked up a piece of wood (?), that's when I decided to take the next taxi to get away.

My dating mishaps are tame compared to this.

I made it (both to Pattaya and to join - as an observer, not a participant - in this event). Well worth the money (in my case 150 THB for orange juice). The light was ok, and there was certainly some big cock on display. But none of the boys was my type, and this kind of setting (seated, pants down) is not my style.
-
It all varies from day to day, and can even change in the course of the night. I poke my head in the door, stand and watch for a some seconds, and if I don't like what I see (e.g. low number of boys, or boys wearing more than only underwear), I tell them why I don't go in, and go to the next bar.

I tried that many times, compromising hoping the other side would compromise as well. But as I found in http://christianpfc.blogspot.com/2017/05/dating-thai-boys-52-bfc4in2017-ton.html As far as I read in the forums, you (a447a) hire money boys where the fronts are clear from the beginning. My mistake is deluding myself that a boy goes with me for free, when all he has his mind is to gain a material advantage. I played along a few times, inviting him and his friends for dinner, buy stuff at the market, but at the end: "My room or your room?" - "Yes, I go to my room and you go to your room." The amounts of money is negligible (let's say 500 THB per case); the waste of time, well I would have done the same with another boy another time; but the feeling of being used, and falling for the same trick again (or rather testing if this boy is different from the others, which requires an outlay of money from my side, and being disappointed that he is not) is what hurts.
