Posting this while waiting to board plane for another weekend trip.

I just narrowly missed two forum members by one week each. One left Bangkok a few days ago while another is coming next weekend.

A funny thing happened. Yesterday, my Thailand phone stopped working. I tried to access Line on another phone but I couldn't get the correct password. There was no way for me to contact my regular guy.

Finally, it dawned on me. He has a Tiktok account so I sent him a message there. I asked if he has Whatsapp and he said yes so we ended up using Whatsapp to communicate and we made arrangement to meet tonight.

Whatsapp, in my opinion, is a better app to chat compared to Line. So looks like Whatsapp will be what I am using to chat with my guy in future. If he agrees, of course.

As for the dead phone, I will have to send it for repair. I cannot dump it because there are lots of photos inside!

84 baht breakfast at Foodland now.

My guy and I didn't sleep much last night in 3rd floor room at 56 Surawong because traffic from Surawong Road was loud and non-stop.

Walls not thick enough to block out noise from outside. I don't know if walls are thick enough to block out noise from inside! No complaints from guests in other rooms about acrobatics in my room!

Roll back 12 hours. My plane touched down in Bangkok at 7pm and there were many arrivals at immigration. A quick thinking lady officer decided to open priority lanes so as to shorten the queues. Great work!

Airport train and BTS were not crowded on a Thursday evening and I reached Sala Daeng BTS at 8.15pm. I decided to walk past Soi Thaniya to get to 56 Surawong and the Thaniya ladies were all out and ready unlike the gay gogo bars which only get going after 10pm.

After checking into 56 Surawong, I made my way to Sun Massage for pre-arranged 1-hour massage session with Vietnamese muscle guy who speaks Mandarin well.

"You go to bar now," he said to me knowingly after we finished showering together at 9.55pm. The converse happened when I entered Freshboys and met my guy. "You go massage before you come here." Maybe it was my glowing appearance. Maybe it was smell of aroma oil. Or maybe everyone knows what a slut I am.

Freshboys was moderately busy. Not overflowing with customers but fair selection of single customers, two high rollers and some groups (a group of 3 farang lady tourists and a mixed Chinese group of 5 with shopping bags who invited two guys to sit with them and have drinks. According to my guy, they came last night and invited the same two guys). Lady boss came to say hi and toast one of high rollers who had two guys seated with him. My guy says he comes every night. Another high roller had 4 guys drinking with him in corner.

About 30 guys working including many new faces - Myanmar and Laos. Vietnam representation continue to decline as one of my favourite guys went on visa run to Laos so he's away 2 nights.

My timing was excellent. I stepped into the bar at 10pm, got a seat, said hi to mamasan and invited my regular guy down from stage. I showed mamasan 3 fingers to mean that I was offing my guy for 3 nights. A few minutes later, the show began. Unfortunately, the opening act was no longer high energy gogo dancing but a lip synching diva performance. Then came a solo sexy dance with big cock visible. This was followed by 3 guys in tiny red bikinis below and sequinned coats on top and they were dancing to The Wonder Girls "Nobody but you". Very strange performance and my guy told me this was new addition which the 3 guys had been rehearsing the past 2 weeks. Lip synching diva performance next. But next 3 performances showed cocks galore with lots of sucking. This is what Freshboys is known for and customers come to watch this. After the first show ended at 10.45pm, the guys went up the stage on rotation.

I checked my bill. 2300 baht. Off fees for my guy for 3 nights - 3 x 500 = 1500 baht, my drink and my guy's drink = 2 x 400 = 800 baht. I told a waiter I wanted to pay up. Mamasans were busy entertaining VIP guests.

I paid with three 1000-baht notes. I got back a 500-baht note, a 50-baht note, two 20-baht notes and lots of 10-baht coins. To my surprise, I didn't get back any 100-baht notes. I collected the 500-baht note, tipped the waiter with the 50-baht note and left the rest behind.

I had to dig into my pocket to get some 100-baht notes to tip mamasan and several guys on stage as I walked past them out of bar and went to hotel.

I don't like that practice of giving change with plenty of 10 baht coins and Freshboys is only bar doing that regularly hoping, as we see above,  not without merit , that all coins will be left behind. Not with me, on my last visit it was the same , ten 10 baht notes in change and I laboriously collected and pocketed all of them placing 20 baht note instead as a tip. I think it's not fair to boys on the stage when waiter it tipped the same 100 baht for just bringing the drink they are tipped for presenting their enlarged members on the stage.

I agree with you, but can understand if it was a 'once off' customer, but because Jason is quite a regular customer and known to the bar, it is a little disrespectful, no?

Some additional observations and revelations.

At Sun Massage when I finished my massage and went downstairs to wear my shoes, the boss said to my massage guy that all rooms full! They were empty just one hour before that. Customers just suddenly appeared! I remember the phrase - "When it rains, it pours!"

Saw a Laos guy on stage at Freshboys. He used to work at Moonlight. Offed him few times from Moonlight. Gave him a tip for old time's sake. Didn't ask him why he switched from Moonlight to Freshboys. I think the answer is obvious. He has bigger tattoo on arm compared to past. He has added more elements to design so I presume doing ok.

Also bumped into a Midnight bar waiter while walking on street. He called my name in fact. I know from Instagram social media that he got a tattoo sponsored by customer. I asked to see it and how much. 4500 baht he said. Lucky him!

Speaking about movement of staff, I just remembered when I was walking into Sun Massage with my muscle massage guy, my eyes met those of a massage guy who was seated with 3 other guys. He recognised me instantly but it took me a few seconds later before I realised that he worked at Paradise Massage which was 3 units away. From Chiang Mai, he's gay which is a minority among the guys working in bars and massage shops in Bangkok. I remember our enjoyable experiences. Once I recognised him, I pointed at him then pointed at door towards the direction of Paradise Massage. Our non-verbal communication: "Aren't you working at the other shop?" "No more. Now I work here. Next time you come see me?" I smiled.

I don't know if it's still the case but a Freshboys waiter told me a while ago that the money we leave in the folder is divided amongst the waiters at the end of each night and is often a useful sum on a decent night. Obviously money we put on top of the folder goes to the individual, as everywhere in Thailand. I often ask the Mamasan to change a 1000 note to hundreds to give the men I like.

My regular guy tells me about instances when some customers try to haggle and bargain down payment. For example, instead of paying the usual amount, they might counter with a lower amount if they sense that the guys are desperate for offs. Or they could insist that the guys pay the off fees themselves. During low season, such shenanigans are not uncommon.

But last night my guy met a classy customer. My guy was at bar waiting for me to arrive but a customer called him down from stage. Customer wanted to buy him a drink (with an expectation that he sit with him to watch the show and maybe an eventual off). My guy explained to customer that he already had an off (i.e. me) and I was coming soon so he declined to accept the drink. Customer was disappointed but said he understood. He thanked my guy for explaining situation to him and tipped him with a 100-baht note, much to my guy's surprise. I told my guy, "The customer likes you. He will come back another night for you."

It may surprise some but this practice of providing change with several 10 baht coins has been going on for a long time - 20 years in my estimation, if not longer. The folders always used to have a flap at the bottom right side into which 2 or more coins would be lodged, the hope being the customer would not notice. Always check change, especially if you are going to tip afterwards.

best way is to be prepared with exact change and I try to do that all times . I don't like those half-dirty tricks bars are playing
