Day 5 Bangkok - Part 1

Travel weary and age catching up to me.  Got up and went down to first floor for breakfast, but then just been lazy and relaxing in the room all morning.  Did a little reading in between cat naps.  Checked email and touched base with family back in Colorado.  Heading out to go exploring around Silom in the daylight.  Sure it looks different than nighttime.  Will need to locate Freshboys so I can find it at night. lol.  Walked down Silom to the new Dusit Hotel as I wanted to check out the new shopping mall, Central Park.  Place is huge, but I think that is deceptive because of the hotel located on the same property.  My gut feeling is that IconSiam is larger than Central Park.  It was interesting to walk around and explore a short while, but not really someplace I would want to spend very much time.  Did enjoy lunch at one of the hundreds of restaurants…literally hundreds…in the food court.  Certainly don’t recall the name, but had crispy pork plate with rice and was tasty.  Oh, and on level LG, the lower level of the food court, there is actually a Super Rich money exchange.  Very convenient to the Silom area and open 7 days a week, 10:30-20:30.  There was no line and I had some USD in my wallet so just to satisfy my own curiosity I decided to try and exchange it for Baht.  It was very easy.  All I needed was my passport.  Headed back to the hotel and thought I would check out Soi 4 and 6 areas.  Walking down Soi 6 a cute young twink caught my attention at a shop called Paradise.  Don’t recall seeing any mention of it in the forums.  There were a few guys outside 9-teen, one person outside Relax, probably 7 or 8 outside Sun, nobody around Maha and 2 sitting outside Chillax.  I initially thought I might try Chillax, as I had seen posts about it before.  Out of all those shops right there together, the one who caught my attention was at Paradise.  Was not looking for extra service at the moment.  Just wanted a relaxing massage for my overly tired and weary body.  Decided to try a body scrub and aroma massage for 90 minutes total.  Have never had a body scrub before, so I had no idea what to expect.  Not something I would ever get again, I believe.  It was not an enjoyable experience at all, and I could not wait for those 30 minutes to end.  It was actually more painful than relaxing.  Anyway, Paradise had a sign up that they take credit cards, but they actually do not.  Told the receptionist they needed to remove the sign then.  I don’t know what their policy is as to therapists assigned, but I specifically asked and said who I wanted.  Basically said it was either him or I would go someplace else.  I can be aggressive sometimes!  lol.  Massage room was up two flights of stairs.  Large, solid table with built in face cradle.  In room shower, but not toilet.  Adequate room for two in the shower with proper drainage and plenty of hot water.  There was also a sink separate from the shower and an area to hang clothes.  Lights were on a dimmer which therapist adjusted and the room had its own AC unit. While there was room for the therapist to walk completely around the massage table, there was not a great deal of extra space in the room.  Solid door which closed tightly and floor to ceiling walls.  Provided so many details as I don’t recall this shop mentioned before.  Four recliner chairs on ground floor for foot massage.  I did not see any signs of other customers when I was there.  However, to be fair it was probably 2pm so too early I suppose.  The therapist is 27, Thai and from Bangkok.  I specifically asked his age because he really looked like he was barely 18.  Since I have never had a scrub, I don’t know how complete or thorough it was.  Nothing to compare it to.  As I said, it was not a pleasurable experience for me, and I would never get one again.  There was no hint of clue that more might be offered later on…at least during the scrub.  After dry presses, he started on the neck, shoulders and back.  I doubt he has had any formal training, but picked up pointers from fellow therapists or online perhaps.  He gradually worked his way down my back to glutes, then legs, and there were some brushes in certain areas that led me to believe more would be offered.  Knowing where the shop is located and it is surrounded by other shops that are well known to offer extra services, I would have been surprised if something didn’t happen here as well.  Anyway, the flip, the offer, and we are off to the races once again.  I don’t know if he was gay or straight, but he certainly was not inhibited in any way.  The scrub and massage for 90 minutes was 1300 Baht; tip for B2B was 1500 Baht.  Showered together at the conclusion, so extra points for that in my book.  Amazing kisser.  I checked and they have online Facebook and Twitter/X, but nothing updated since 2022.  On X you can see some photos, though, that are pretty accurate as to the facilities.  One negative…which is probably a concern for all of the massage shops on Soi 6.  The shops all have back of buildings up against Bangkok Christian Hospital, which is undergoing major construction.  Looks like they are building a huge addition.  You can hear the construction noise inside the building and rooms.  It wasn’t bad enough to be an issue or problem, but does impact the ambience slightly.  This may only be an issue during the day time hours.  We exchanged LINE info and may add him to my list of repeats before leaving LOS.  LOL.

The rooms at Paradise are nice! Better than most of rooms in other massage shops in the area.

I met a Thai guy from Chiang Mai at Paradise last year. Gay and loves kissing so I enjoyed being with him. Saw him twice on subsequent visits. But he doesn't have fabulous body with abs which is why I avoided his shop.

Last month, I was at Sun Massage and waiting in lobby area was Chiang Mai guy! We smiled at each other. He indicated he moved shop. I followed my hunky muscle guy up the stairs.

Ate dinner at Derby King last night.  Was debating between there and Foodland, but ultimately chose Derby.  Had to try that famous cashew chicken everyone on the forum is always talking about.   Dinner was quite good, but the dish had way too many mushrooms for my liking.  I am not a huge fan of mushrooms to begin with.  At first, I wasn’t even sure what it was when she brought my dish out.  Almost looked like some sort of tube pasta, but after careful examination determined it to be mushroom.  More mushroom and onion in the dish than chicken and cashews.  Will try Foodland version next.

.......................

I was going to Fresh Boys after dinner for the show.  I could have asked if he wanted to go along, but really wanted the experience by myself.

Chicken with cashew nots is one of those dishes which tastes bit differently  in every place you sample it, owing both to ingredients and way chicken meat is prepared.

I even had an impression that in either Foodland in Silom  taste is not exactly the same. Happy Beer Garden on Suriwong opposite Raya hotel makes good one and I liked one served in cafeteria of Ibis Silom lobby.

....................

advantage of going to bar with somebody is that you will be less harassed by mamasans about hiring a company. Disadvantage is that it cost twice as much  owing to need to buy  drink for your companion as well as being restricted with your flirting. Generally speaking when comes to taking boys to bars I do it only if they express such desire. Some of them do, lots don't

Gave therapist negotiated 2000 Baht tip.  He initially requested 3000, but I knew better to accept this thanks to the forum.

3000 is completely out of whack there. That may be requested is some upscale shop by very upsacle boy but on Suriwong ? Hunks at Jey are happy with 1800-200 for 1.50 hrs session so even your 2000 was very generous

I may need to check out Happy Beer Garden, and completely for get about Ibis for lunch even though I am staying here.  lol.  Only have eaten breakfast here.

Yes, I knew that was outrageous request.  No harm in his trying.  lol.  He had me pegged for typical tourist.  I get it.  I wasn't going to pay that, though.  Probably shouldn't have agreed to the 2000, but he was so darn cute and adorable.  Just couldn't help myself.

Day 6 Bangkok - General Musings

Dinner was quite good, but the dish had way too many mushrooms for my liking.  I am not a huge fan of mushrooms to begin with.  At first, I wasn’t even sure what it was when she brought my dish out.  Almost looked like some sort of tube pasta, but after careful examination determined it to be mushroom.  More mushroom and onion in the dish than chicken and cashews.

We clearly share the same dislike of mushrooms. Many years ago I was bumped up to first class on a fight from Vancouver to Hong Kong. All four main dishes had mushrooms! And then back in business class for the Hong Kong/Bangkok sector, once again all three main courses had mushrooms. I wrote to CX but cannot recall their reply.

Seems that vegetables are frequently added to chicken and cashew nut dishes, something to do with bringing out flavour. I can recall occasionally having  some onion and very few red or green peppers. But I do not recall mushrooms and would ask the waiter that they not be added.

Day 6 Bangkok - Fresh Boys

Papasan could barely find a place for me to sit.

Excellent reports thank you. Wish I could write like that.
But -'papasan' --- they are all mamasan regardless of apparent gender.  'mama' doesn't suggest female mother.
Sorry to be a pedant but I do love the euphemism 'therapist'
Thanks again..

Thank you jimmie50

IMHO you have hit the nail on the head. From my maybe limited understanding, and having brought this up with a couple of the barboys, I imagine that most of the takings remain in management's pockets. Of course there could be an advantage to giving a sob story to a client in order to try to obtain a few more hundred baht, but I am sure that without being offed, you will not be getting a satisfactory financial reward.

+1

I have also written to CX south a similar complaint.

I also hate mushrooms and was disappointed when the starter was mushroom soup and two of the main courses featured mushrooms!

First world problem, I know, but CX really needs to rethink their menu.

Day 6 Bangkok - Fresh Boys

Was running just a tad late for the 22:15 show due to my extra-curricular activity at Avarin.  Having never been to Fresh Boys before, I assumed it would be similar to my previous stop at Moonlight with low attendance and a late start.  Boy, was I wrong!  Show started on time, and the place was packed.  Papasan could barely find a place for me to sit.  Felt like I was in a can of sardines.  Since the show had just started, I did not see the beforehand parade of number boys, but would guess in total around 30 boys.  First couple of acts seemed like more something I would see in a leather or fetish bar.  Lots of skin, erotic playfulness, and big cocks.  Show was definitely more risqué with lots of nudity compared to Moonlight.  Not sure how to describe the majority of guys here…definitely not what I would call muscular or manly; but, also not completely twinkish, either.  Kind of an in-between, mixed bag I would say.  A couple just slightly chunky.  Perhaps this is where the new term twunk would fit?!?  Since the club was so crowded, even if there was a boy I would have been interested in there was absolutely no space for him to sit beside me.  Would have been forced to either sit on his lap or he on mine…either could be fun. lol.  Seemed like a mixed crowd.  Mostly Asian males, maybe a half-dozen caucasians, and a couple of females (also Asian).  Around 60 customers total.  There seemed to be several little groups here.  Fortunately, because it was so crowded I was able to fade into the background and be absorbed so papasan and mamasan left me alone for the most part.  To be honest, the waiter was more annoying.  Prissy thing prancing around all over the place screaming for attention!  Total turn off.  Several of the groups were definitely in party mode, with a number of boys being invited to join them.  Got the impression these are frequent customers well known to all and mamasan gave them extra special attention.  No clue how many bottles were consumed by these couple of groups, but must have been substantial income for the house!  One caucasian gentleman sitting dead center in the back row must also be a somewhat regular and very popular.  At one time I counted seven boys he had with him with probably as many bottles of alcohol.  They were frequently sending shots up on stage for their buddies, sent shots twice to the drag queen (she was NOT amused), and even sent shots to the DJ.  So, when I say party atmosphere…you get the idea.  Shower show was somewhat amusing, because once they two guys were soaped up they had a challenging time standing or moving around in the soapy water. Couldn’t help chuckle to myself and wonder which one would fall first.  Drag queen was ok from my perspective.  Wasn’t really anything wrong with the performance.  Just seemed to lack energy.  Enjoyed the one at Moonlight much more.  It seemed most of the sex was oral, with anal simulated but no real penetration.  Perhaps that came later after I left.  I stayed through the big cock show with hitting the pole and had reached my limit by this time.  Too loud, too crowded, and too many drunk people for my taste…to be honest.  Guys walked around for tips after hitting the pole with their cocks, but it was difficult for them to get around the room because it was so crowded.  Also, I would have considered tipping but it was so dark inside I could not see inside my wallet to know which note I was pulling out.  I sure as heck wasn’t going to grab a 1K note instead of a 100, so didn’t tip at all.  (Sorry, guys!)  While Moonlight was somewhat boring and a little depressing (aside from Mr. Boss), I am not quite sure I understand the business model of these clubs or the financial acumen of the boys.  The club is packed so apparently business is good.  Yeah for the club.  I am not sure how that success filters down to the boys.  If they are invited to join these ‘big spender’ groups for drinking during the show, but only receive a minimal tip for that pleasure but no offing, how is that to their benefit.  Could I afford to invite a handful of boys over to sit and drink with me for an hour, give them a couple of hundred baht for their time, and send them back to the rotation…sure.  But, that’s not me.  And my guess is there were a number of people in the bar just like me who would prefer some 1:1 time with a nice young man in conversation, one drink, leading to an off for the young man.  That would be much more lucrative and financially beneficial to the young man…at least one would think so.  Versus spending a couple of hours with a wealthy donor for a couple of hundred baht.  That math just doesn’t make sense in my book.  So the young men flock to the big spenders which basically restricts their availability to other, possibly more generous customers in a 1:1 situation.  So, at least for me, visited Fresh Boys but probably would not go back due to the party atmosphere and exclusion of quality 1:1 interaction.  Just my perspective, guys, as a first timer.  Between the two clubs, would go back to Moonlight but not Fresh Boys.  May try Hot Male tomorrow night.  See how I feel.

Thank you for great updates. I was recently in Freshboys every night as my favourite. Currently only packed on Friday/Saturday nights, I think. I am curious too how much the whiskey bottle customers tip to drink with the men for ages. I will ask. I think anything less than a regular tip of 500bt upwards would be mean, as the men are giving up a chance of being taken out for that period.

Thanks for report on Freshboys @jimmie50

I would just like to add some insider information.

Many of the guys who sit and drink with big spending customers are instructed to do so by the bar management.

Yes, some guys are called down by the customers themselves but many others are "invited" by mamasan.

Management wants customers to finish bottle of Johnnie Walker so that they can order more.

Given a choice, most guys prefer an off as they earn more (and drink less!)

Day 4 Bangkok - Part 2

II don’t know how @FunFifties did it.  This is only day 4 and I am completely exhausted.  Think I need a day of rest tomorrow.

I only did three days in a row, before settling into a more slowly paced routine with my regular for five days. You have me beaten by a day already, and it seems there are still days to come :)

you were bumped to first class and still had audacity to write letter of complain because of some food????? Certainly you don't have any fear of God  and audacity must be your second name, lol.

you must be my long lost twin brother, waiting impatiently for your take of Hot Male which is another bar I like.

I'm not fan of Freshboys but it needs to be said they must be doing something right packing bar to such degree.

Don't forget about Jupiter, Banana Club, Dreamboys, Atlas and ThanTawan

I asked two men who have worked at Freshboys recently. One said they get 200-300; the other said they get 200-500bt for helping customer drink spirits. Thank you to Jason for the insider info. I didn't know Mamasan invites men to help.
