The other queen responded with "¿De verdad te gusta tanto el pan?" (Do you really enjoy bread that much?). 😄 Ruthrieston, mauRICE, Keithambrose and 1 other 4 Quote

First of all, while I wouldn't throw him out of bed, he's not what I would describe as "my type" (he is cute, though). Secondly, My hubby and have an understanding that we can only have sex out of wedlock with strangers (not someone either of us knows--typically while traveling), and that once the deed is done, we'll never see that person again (no keeping contact information, for example). With those guidelines, there's no need for jealousy. PeterRS, Ruthrieston and bkkmfj2648 3 Quote

Popular Post jimmie50 Posted November 6 Popular Post Posted November 6 Probably in the minority here, but I don't think you were rude. Based upon his reaction, and a little on the photos that have been shared, he strikes me as a prissy prima donna. Again, just personal opinion. He certainly is a cutie, and wouldn't kick him out of my bed for sure. Over the years, I have been asked by non-native English speakers to tutor them in English, often after being introduced at some social function. Never bothered me, nor did I consider it rude. I think part of the issue is what has been discussed here before...the lack of communication and interpersonal skills of the techie generation. They simply do not know how to conduct themselves in a social setting. vinapu, unicorn, bkkmfj2648 and 2 others 4 1 Quote

caeron Posted November 7 Posted November 7 I have a natural negative reaction to people who wear designer logos that prominently. It reads to me like a kind of pathetic attempt to show off their 'class' which they don't have so they try to buy it. So I share Maurice's read of the boy as a prissy prima donna who probably is also insecure. I might have phrased the request more as a question as suggested above, but this is hardly rude. He clearly didn't know how to handle the request graciously, so went for his default prima donna snootiness. He is cute, but I wouldn't let him dress himself. That was what my mother (who grew up with wealthy parents) taught me. When she'd see someone pass by wearing designer logos, she'd tell me privately "How vulgar!". Really classy people dress modestly. They don't need to try to dress to impress. My brother's wife was the CEO of a major corporation, and she took the subway every day from their place in the upper east side to her work downtown. Seconded - and the host of other great British actors like Dame Judi Dench, Dame Helen Mirren, Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Derek Jacobi. They were all jobbing actors who made their reputations early in their careers by playing in weekly repertory plays that toured Britain. That is how I was able to see Dame Maggie as a youngster when the new National Theatre toured. She was in a Franco Zeffirelli production of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing with her then husband the wonderful Robert Stephens and a cast including such luminaries as Anthony Hopkins, Derek Jacobi and Frank Finlay. All for peanuts in those days. Ruthrieston 1 Quote

Ordinary working person standing next to Buffet or Gates seems to be deep in poverty. Yet move the same person to some village in Tchad or Bolivia and all of the sudden affluence shines. And that fact was not forgotten in the community since I was told that by the neighbour , as a boy good , 30 years later Ruthrieston 1 Quote
