I thought of questions they might ask. "Why you come to Thailand almost every month?" "Last year you come 2 times. This year you come 8 times." But when it was my turn, no questions were asked. The immigration lady smiled at me and let me off!

The immigration officer probably took pity on you: you only came ten times in the last two years. You and your boyfriend need to buck up! 🤣

Enjoy your holiday - hope you have a good one. 👍

The only good thing about the 45 minute immigration queue was that when I was done, my luggage was on the conveyor belt and ready for me.

I took the escalator down and saw big crowd at taxi queue. I decided to take the train instead to get to Raya Hotel. But this meant I had to drag my luggage and cross Soi Thaniya which was filled with ladies calling out to me in Japanese!

Long queues. I had to wait 45 minutes. And this was because the immigration officials were scrutinising Asian individuals. I could hear questions such as "Where you stay in Thailand?" and "How many days you stay?" Isn't all the information already submitted online?

Do you think this might be because these individuals had failed to submit their arrival details online and just did not know about the regulation? I have twice returned to Thailand and was never asked at the departure airport for proof of having obtained the online approval QR code. Mind you, I was not asked for it either when I arrived, even though it was open and on my phone as I went through Immigration.

Alternatively, if you change to the MRT at Makasan, you can get off at Sam Yan. The walk to the Raya is slightly further but is easier.

Anyways, looking forward to hearing about your adventures!

While waiting to buy a ticket at ticket counter at Sala Daeng BTS, I was stuck for about 15 minutes behind two ladies from Hong Kong. One of them wanted to purchase a Rabbit card. Besides asking for passport, the counter staff requested for a ton of information from the Hong Kong lady - name of hotel, duration of stay, contact details in Hong Kong and email address. I remembered the long wait at immigration at the airport yesterday. I could not help but detect a pattern in the scrutinising of personal particulars and information by the authorities.

I have been asked to show my passport on several occasions recently when trying to recharge my rabbit card at Sala Daeng station. I have solved that by recharging at more peripheral stations where a passport was not asked for.

Scrutiny is much more intense now.

I saw that there was a top up app.  Does that require a Thai bank account?

I was able to add money to a Rabbit card in one of the machines at Sala Daeng BTS with Baht.  Didn't need a Thai bank account, credit or debit card.  Just put in the amount of Baht I was wanting to add to the card.  I think there was only one machine that allowed this, but still was quick and easy.  That was on my recent trip in October.  The Rabbit card was one that my Thai friends obtained for me to use on my visit in August 2024.  It was still good in October 2025.

Strange. I recharged my card at Siam BTS counter just a couple of weeks ago. Did not have to show anything. There should be no need unless your passport has changed since the original Rabbit did require a passport.

The reason given when passports were required was "to prevent money laundering." Huh? When the maximum on a card was Bt 4,000. Thai logic once again totally failed me.

Lunch on Sunday was at Derby King in Patpong. I wanted to try their chicken cashew nut. Generous portions of chicken. Not as sweet as Foodland and Sarica. Big difference is lots of mushrooms but I was ok with them. Home-styled cooking. 120 baht. Rice 60 baht. Total 180 baht.

I have only experienced this at Sala Daeng station, and only very recently, not any other places.
