At what time do you normally set out for a night on the town?

I'm curious as to what time people start their evenings for a night out on the town and bar-hopping? Does it start with an early dinner and you guys go on from there? I try not to eat after 7 PM which means I have dinner relatively early following my diurnal activities, then return to my hotel or apartment to rest, shower, before setting out again around 9.30 or 10.00 PM. I try to look presentable and dress appropriately even at the most humble of venues but these days shorts and t-shirts seem de rigueur at the gay establishments. It seemed to me that I was often among the latecomers at the bars and occasionally ended up not having enough time to go to the venues that I wanted or see the shows that I wanted to see. What about you all?

I usually start 7pm except if I'm doing a all nighter ...eg going to dance at DJ station 👯‍♂️🕺🏿,then I will go later maybe 11pm

I have found out you need to plan your sleep / recovery if you do that

If I know I'm going to DJ station on Friday night ,I won't sleep Thursday night or have  maybe little sleep ,then I will sleep Friday afternoon ready for the all nighter Friday night 👯‍♂️

I don't drink as much nowadays because my recovery is not as good ...not easy growing old

I also try to eat carbs before going out ,bananas etc and take a Berocca vitamin drink 💊

In the states, I don't usually go out to the clubs or bars.  To be honest, not even sure where they are located in Denver.  If I go out here, it is usually for dinner with friends or to a show.  When I was in Bangkok, I tried to eat between 5 and 7pm.  I don't like to eat any later than that.  Then I would go back to the hotel to relax and freshen up.  The night I went to Moonlight I got there after the show had started, so probably after 10pm.  I went earlier...around 9pm when I went to Hotmale and was the only customer for awhile.  I actually preferred going early, so will probably follow that routine when I return next month.  As for attire, I am almost always in shorts and Hawaiian shirts.  Unless I had some important meeting at school, dress codes for students and staff in California were very lax or non-existent.  Most of the staff attire was very casual.  Probably 95% of the time I was in shorts and the floral shirts.  That is pretty much what I wear when in Thailand, too.  Because of the cold and sometimes harsh winters in Denver I have had to adjust that long pants, sweaters and long-sleeved shirts.  Hate it!

I usually go for dinner about 6pm to avoid the crowds then move around a bit after that, not a big gogo or show bar person (small beer bars are more my liking) or a night owl really so back at the hotel by 10 / 10:30pm either with or without company. Most of my activities are done during the daytime, exercise and touristy stuff in the morning, massage and happy time in the afternoon.

I only go out in Bangkok. At home especially on weekdays I try to be home, eat and sleep as early as possible.

In Bangkok if I have company whether personal friends or a boy, I time my evening to have dinner, a drink somewhere maybe Soi 4, and then a bar in time for the show. I enjoy people watching.

If I’m alone I have something light at or near the hotel. If I’m at Le Meridien I cobble together a meal at the lounge. It gets harder and harder with every passing year to not simply fall asleep and instead shower and dress for the bars. I often give in to temptation and just Line a regular boy to come over from his bar.

If it’s a non-bar night but I have a boy with me, I enjoy going somewhere like mookata, so he can order in Thai and I get a local experience that I couldn’t have on my own. Bonus: it’s often a buffet so boy can eat his heart out without damage to my pocket. The best places often have a massive queue so we start early, at 5.30 or 6 pm. That leaves plenty of time at night for fun and the mookata reek means showering together is compulsory. A win-win.
