Jupiter boys "want 5000 tip"

I have not been in Jupiter for a few years  but a source from another bar claims the boys there (or at least some of them) are asking for S/T or L/T   tip of 5000 baht? True or just wrongful gossip?

Perhaps a guy just trying his luck or a very popular guy who thinks he's worth that much? Or it's the guy's "polite" way of giving the customer the brush off? @hank75 might have some insights and I believe @spoon also had a negative experience there recently.

Look I do find the moneyboys on Bangkok grinder are near western prices in some cases eg African guys wanting 3000! Plus for their big enormous weapons but so be it 

I don't want to pay that , but most times I do and bend over and take it like a man !🍆🍆

L/T 5k is not unreasonable since S/T at most bars is already 3k.

I've been stung by this before, but my fault for not negotiating the tip beforehand. Took a Jupiter guy back to my hotel for short time and when it was all finished (which tbh was average at best), I went to give him 3000 but he then told me his rate is 5000. As I'm relatively small and the guy was bigger than me, I didn't want to escalate the situation or cause a scene so we settled at 4000. From then on, I now check with guys (that are new to me) their tip expectations to avoid surprises like that.

He must have been a stunner or one of Jupiter's top stars to demand a rate of 5000! I only know of models at Moonlight who can command ST rate of 5000.

I've had a Jupiter model quoting 4000 for ST before with some limitations (no kissing etc.) but others quoted the usual 3000.

Like someone mentioned above, it is likely that he is either one of the superstar or he prefers going with women instead and is indirectly saying no to you. I usually get my intel on the boy's preferred client (i.e. if he goes out with women only or both and general limitations with the mamasan I've known for some time).

FYI, in my recent trip, even one of the Tawan guys quoted 5000 for ST, but he is a solid tall muscular bodybuilder (with six pack and all) and I was informed that he is actually mainly there to fill in the roster. So, he apparently only goes with clients if they pay a premium price.

Don't take that for granted either.... just happened to me in Colombia, luckily I confirm what we're going to do, how long and what all is involved before the meet. Stating first that this is only my experience, and there are many fish in Silom. I saw your question and asked an ex Jupiter boy who’s had his moment as a highly popular boy. His response to the letter: “depends on the boy”

The offing range in Jupiter has been known to be 3000-5000 for at least 8 years. I don’t see signs of inflation which is lucky for punters though the strong baht counters this. Perhaps you used to be able to ST less popular guys at 2500 pre and just post Covid but no longer. 

5000 is either LT or ST for an in demand guy who already has an established clientele willing to pay this, and no immediate money issues. Unless the guy outright quotes you 5000 though, it is fair to assume ST is 3000-4000.

No 5000 isn’t a brush off fee. The guy is trying to make a little more money (or maybe you look like hard work), or preparing to negotiate. You can try to counter offer 4000, there’s an 80% chance of them agreeing. I’ve seen guys quote 8000 or 10,000 when they truly want to give someone the brush off or “if you want me this much, this is what would be acceptable” from straight stunners to accept a gay off. 

Look, Jupiter is known to be a “premium” bar but the downside is the offs don’t happen as fast as other bars. Boys have to charge higher to make their monthly expenses, since they get one off per day or once every 2-3 days instead of two offs per night. Economies of scale and all that. If you want to challenge that, go to another bar.

Sounds like this guy was a bad egg. The correct protocol (for him) would have been to inform you his rate was 5000, but nicely ask if you could give him 1000 extra to make it 4000 and everyone leaves happy. Next time always check the tip expectation before leaving the bar. 

But there isn’t a large risk of a Jupiter guy getting violent. A serious customer complaint to the bar means immediate expulsion, as happened to one Cambodian.

Thanks for your response, @hank75. For the record, I wasn't the one asking but @zombie, based on what he had heard from "a source in another bar". I mentioned you as you seemed familiar with Jupiter. I hadn't been to Jupiter for a long time as the last time I went, I found the offerings on display didn't commensurate with their attitude. I've had much better service and met fresh, humble, non-jaded, and to my eye much better looking guys at Thai-style places. And until I saw Joey recently, I've practically lost all interest in Patpong. 

Honestly I would find the back-and-forth negotiations tiresome but I understand and accept the transactional nature of the business. And where are these stunners that people speak of? I regularly receive Jupiter's promotional material and catwalk videos in my social media feeds and would be hardpressed to call anyone there a stunner and at least half a dozen of them are faces I recognise from different venues in the country ten years ago! Again, I accept that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Thailand has no shortage of attractive men and women, and in my experience, most of them are not in the bars, at least not the ones in Patpong or Pattaya. Simply go on the BTS for a quick hard on! At the gyms I go to (I move around), a handsome, athletic, student-type from a humble background would be thrilled at getting 2,000 Baht for a couple of hours of his time. Of course the trick is knowing who to approach and how to approach them and it wouldn't be an immediate or guaranteed bang. These guys are often genuine - and you'd have to be genuine too and be seriously interested in them as human beings to get a response. I've established quite a few long-term friendships this way over the years. None of that attitude one could expect from a crusty prostitute. I know this isn't a fair comparison but I just wanted to give a bit of a perspective as to why I'm often incredulous at the shennanigans that you guys are willing to put up with in Patpong.

On another forum I often read one poster who does this although he asks them bluntly and straight to the point ...I mean it all could be bullshit for all I know 😅

Apparently he even propositions the hotel managers and they say yes !
