For the record, I wasn't the one asking but @zombie, based on what he had heard from "a source in another bar".

Thanks yes I reread OP’s post. To @zombie I hope my post clears it up somewhat. I would never trust gossip from another bar. Just go in person and assess the rate and goods yourself.

I found the offerings on display didn't commensurate with their attitude.

I don’t disagree at all, l haven’t been on the receiving end of any attitude but I can see that a more relaxed bar would be preferable to some. They were justified in the pre Covid years when the bar was so busy you couldn’t get a seat and the line up was the best in Patpong.

And where are these stunners that people speak of? I regularly receive Jupiter's promotional material and runway catwalk videos and would be hardpressed to call anyone there a stunner.

If you look at the photos I posted…the stunners were there some 6 years ago. Only a few of them are left and they work irregularly. I continue to go due to possibly misplaced nostalgia (and some other more practical considerations) but I am in full agreement the quality has dropped off significantly. It used to be that 90% of the line up were tremendously attractive with sculpted abs pecs and biceps for miles. The first catwalk of the evening, with Mr Arm leading the pack could make you dizzy.

Leaving you to reach for your smelling salts, safely tucked away in your lace handkerchief? 😏

Not sure how being a busy bar justifies having an attitude as you say... I've been to many establishments which many would describe as top end and one of the main reasons why they are deemed top end is because of their humble and accommodating staff and how they're able to make every patron feel special.

On another forum I often read one poster who does this although he asks them bluntly and straight to the point ...I mean it all could be bullshit for all I know 😅

Apparently he even propositions the hotel managers and they say yes !

I’m pretty sure that was you… or at least one of you on a confident day 😅

Again I can only speak from my own experience. I’ve always been very well treated and made to feel welcome, even when I was new. Apart from lady boss who’s a piece of work.

Oh I reached for….something else. And again when the boy was within reach.

There used to be a social group there called the Barmy Army. I wonder if they still exist. It was said that they were among the original balloon chasers although I'm not sure how far this was true.

Wasn't there a bar or restaurant in Silom Soi 2 that was popular with the older set? One evening my friends and I were too early for G.O.D. which was next door to it and we decided to drop in for a tipple and some finger food and had all the eyes in the restaurant leering at us. It was quite creepy. Of course, this was around fifteen years ago when we were relatively young ourselves. I think it was called Robert's, Dick's or something (but not Dick's Cafe).

The 'Barmy Army' is a term now applied to the England cricket fans who travel to watch England play. They are keen on cricket and beer, though not necessarily in that order!

Oh dear, not another Hillsborough waiting to happen, I hope. Thankfully cricket fans tend to be more subdued than football fans.

We have moved a long way from these subsequently corrected Hillsborough allegations. Really not something about which to make a casual joke.

What joke? I was hoping that @Keithambrose would pick up on the famous nervous shock case of Alcock v Chief Constable of South Yorkshire Police (1991) that arose from the Hillsborough disaster where the House of Lords ruled that relatives watching the events on television or hearing about them did not satisfy the criteria for being secondary victims. Torts was my favourite subject and @Keithambrose has a pithy way of walking us down memory lane with his vast legal knowledge.
