Next morning horror – I couldn’t  find my glasses. After several minutes finally found them – inside pillow.

I usually wear contact lenses but prefer glasses in the evenings to give my eyes a rest. As I recently had a new pair made I now travel with two pairs just in case of above scenario. Have just been told I have long sightedness setting in and soon I may need reading glasses which brings me up to three pairs. Such is the rapid onset of age.

Highly recommend making a spare pair of glasses if you rely on them. Owndays has locations in Bangkok and they can produce a new pair for you in an hour. Quality is good too.

At the rates that hotel charges? Sadly out of my league just as the Capella is out of yours 🤪  Before I stayed at the Phu Quoc Marriott, the Obamas had stayed there at US$10,000 per night!

In Namche Bazar , Nepal , I stay in the same hotel Jimmy Carter did, post-presidency. Yes THAT Jimmy Carter. It was 10$ hotel, another proof President Carter was modest man , not like one who is sitting in the White House now

your advice is very sensible and for years I always had spare ones. But since I noticed I never used them I discontinued that practice. Yes , glasses I wear now and also previous ones were made in Bangkok.

He mentioned he wants to go to some club but there was no offer “ you want go too?” and I got a hint

Actually, mention of wanted to go to some club is a hint no? He might be waiting for you ask if you can join hehe.

Sounds like it but no, based on our earlier conversation it wasn't a case. He is pretty straightforward when he wants.

And I did not want to go to club  anyways. I asked straight forward "it's any chance we may meet tonight ? I was more curious than desperate. If desperate I'd quote potential tip as bait.

Very unlike you to have tonic with your gin

correct but I was bit tried with all that beers I gulped during the day so it was more drink to give   bar a business than for me to quench my thirst

You take fantastic photos @vinapu Nice composition and framing of subjects. And they were not taken with DLSR but with a simple handphone camera. Did you happen to be a professional photographer in the past?

I have seen @vinapu in real life holding his handphone with 2 hands to take photo and sometimes using zoom function. He has the stance of a typical boomer tourist. So I am surprised by how good his photos turned out! 👍

I did two days ago small tour and big tour of Angkor. The guides were excellent and group not too big. Next time I would go by tuktuk just to explore.

I am positively surprised that even guys in local eateries speak good English. I had or have holiday romance in PP with a hot guy, so was not sufficiently motivated to start tGrindr interviews. Bball was empty and God.. both reminded me I am not really a bar guy. God has nice cocktails. Guys were friendly and touching me in inappropriate places:)

I traveled from PP to SR by Angkor Air, though I had „first class“ bus ticket for the same day and route. Stupid, I thought. But then the bus was 9.45am and plane 3.30 pm. Vishna helped me, as I could stay with my guy in bed until 11 after that he treated me with breakfast in a nice restaurant and I moved later to the airport. Cambodia is probably the ultimate destination for inter-age friendships 🤭. In our case he is early 20s and me early 50s.

SR to BKK flight is unusually with Emirates.

Its hot, drink water🐒.

while I thank you for boosting my self esteem, I don't any credits for those pictures as all  should go to my Samsung Galaxy A52 phone. Often I noticed that quality of pic is better then reality.

So we both surprised how good photos turned out , all I do is just click.

Thank you for mentioning your walk around Angkor Thom - this sounds great and definitely something I would like to do next time I am in Siem Reap. Would have never discovered this activity if not for this forum!

for me is a definite highlight of every visit there. Different than temple hopping, lots of w exercise and very quiet compared to temples  . It looks that a lot of people are not aware about the option. I learned about that from Lonely Planet guide.

One can do it also on bicycle as 90% of walls are well preserved. In fact I met there  2 groups of European cyclists last time as well as German couple doin the same in reverse direction.

I never saw any snakes there but at least twice I was warned by locals " watch for snakes "  so they may be there. Good news is , track is wide and sandy , just like shown on the first picture above so any creature will be noticed from far and wide. Another good news is that it can be broken at any of 5 gates if one feels tired , thirsty or bored . at southern and western gates there are stands where you can buy something to drink, they even had Hanuman Black beer, my favorite in Cambodia.

Let arrange next trip at the same time and we can walk together.

Must've been an exciting toilet break to leave us hanging like that 😁

for some for sure as few passengers and a driver were obviously in need of said break but I did not take an advantage. Bus had working toilet by the way as I saw some passengers going there and returning without any sign of disgust.

as for reason  to leave you hanging like that it's because I type my report in the evening as a way to put me to sleep. It works for me , it may work for some readers as well although I hope not.

drinking beer  works as well, only animals are drinking water as you proved in last picture above.

As for bus vs. flight comparison calculation is straightforward.  Flight is about 100$ more than bus and saves  about 3 hrs of door to door travel time. It's for individual to asses what is more sensible, saving 100 $ or saving 3 hrs
