Popular Post durian Posted July 19 Popular Post Posted July 19 Border hop time again. We decided to give Thailand a miss and went for a three month say in DaNang. Getting the visa was easy, online application £20 fee and your details, address flight passport etc etc. Arrived in four days by email. We have rented an apartment on My Khe beach front and the first thing that caught us out was the construstion noise next door, it's been a month of hammer drilling which is now over thank goodness. 8am to 5pm. There are people on YT who suggest noise can be a problem but until you actually arrive at your destination I'm not sure how you can know in advance. Google maps doesn't update often enough to help. The demolished building is still a hotel on google maps. We haven't come for 'Gay Danang' to be honest there's not a lot here for two older men. That said we have found a couple of bars and the Gentlemans sauna HOI AN 'LIVING COLOURS' a very friendly gay bar, we got tipsy there a couple of evenings during our weekend stay, everyone seemed really friendly. It wasn't difficult to strike up conversations and enjoy a few drinks. They do kareoke and drag but not on the nights we were there. The two chaps who run the place are very nice and very friendly, as has been said in thier google reviews. Well worth a visit, we will return. I care about cleanliness behind the bar and the way cocktails are prepared really stood out here. First Class. DANANG QBAR Quite a small bar and not particularly comfortable, the bar staff were very friendly. No draught beer, just cans. We sat outside so we could smoke, inside was busy but not the sort of bar where we found it as easy to chat to strangers as we found at 'Living Colours' A few table and chairs so once seated the patron chatted to themselves, Probably won't go again. It was quite something to be sitting outside smoking and as one barman arrived we heard him announce to his buddy that he did indeed have a UTI. I'm glad it wasn't my slice of lime he manhandled in to a cocktail as I stood at the bar getting my beer. Not overly happy with the standard of hygiene at the small sink behind the bar. The bar is located a 10/15 minute drive from the heart of the touristy beach area. GENTLEMANS SAUNA DANANG. This has mixed reviews on google so here's my honest opinion as a 'sauna whore' for most of my adult life. We went yesterday (saturday) 5pm -8pm it was busy with a wide mix of ages and body types and nationalities. As you enter there are changing lockers to the right, you are only provided with what can best be described as a flannel. No towel to cover your modesty or dry off with at the end of your stay. TOP TIP. Take your own towel for drying off before you leave. The flannel serves no real purpose, I honestly thought it was a bit daft the way chaps were holding said flannel over thier cock as they wander around covering thier modesty. I chose the sluttier option and just wandered naked, doing my best to hold in my beer belly. Fuck it. Lifes to short. It is very dimly lit so it's not like you're walking around stark bollock naked in homophobic lighting. On the ground floor a small steam roon and dry sauna and communal shower area. The small steam room is a classic free for all grope and suck and mingle. It was a constant stream of men in and out, no real action in the sense of 'orgy' but it was busy. The usual rules apply, a gentle removal of an unwanted touch is all that is needed. The two upper floors have a combination of dimly lit single rooms and open larger rooms, the stairs could prove fatal if you're not careful, marble surface and wet flip flops are not a great mix, so take care as it is not well lit. (flip flops provided depending on how you feel about wearing them not knowing who else has worn them) I think being barefoot could prove even more slippery. Once your eyes adjust the lighting is perfect. The chap who runs it is very friendly, there is some refreshment, beer with a ton of ice in it or a soft drink in those dispensers you often see at a large gathering in a restaurant, and some very small plastic cups, and a table with sliced fruit are free. We went by Grab and being modest, not wanting to startle the driver, we chose our drop off point as 'Kims House Homestay' which is just a couple of doors away. We did have a short wait when we Grabbed home as there were not so many drivers available, theres a nice coffe bar on the corner at the end of the street to sit and wait, ALLY COFFE' It's a 15 minute ride from 'tourist central' at the beach where we are staying. We will certainly go back, reviews on google suggest many people don't like being touched in a dark steamroom, I would say to them if that's not your sort of thing then don't go. It's a gay sauna and in all my sauna years I would expect nothing less than some random stranger touching my cock or feeling my butt while jammed up against 10 other men in a dark steam room. Isn't that the whole point? I certainly enjoyed sitting in there stroking the back and butt cheeks of what looked like a very fit korean chap while someone else was sucking his dick. Sounds like a perfect afternoon to me. As for the fun sized japanese daddy licking my nipples and playing with my balls, thank you. Just what I expected. From memory the entrance was about 180k which is ridiculously cheap so don't even begin to complain on your google reviews. Grindr is fairly busy, Hornet less so, we have had several hits during our first month. We haven't taken adavantage of any of those hits on the app but we do like to know what's around us and who is available. One very handsome asian lad offered us sex for 900k in our room promising me that he would sit on my face, and another very fit looking asian lad offered us massage for 1 million! It's possible DaNang has more to offer younger visitors but we wouldn't know as we're not in to nightclubs or dancing so haven't explored that aspect. We're happy with a dark steam room and DaNang certainly has one of those, albiet quite small. It also has to be said that for eye candy Danang is 10/10 Wandering along the beach is mouthwatering, we love nothing more than sitting at the tables of the beach bar which is opposite the NESTA HOTEL with a San Miguel beer (70k) and watch the half naked men play ball. Further north along the beach, maybe a 10 minute stroll, you will find a few muscle boys working out and posing which is a pleasant addition to an evening stroll. I've had some use of the Moreta app to pay in VND but usually choose cash or Wise card, unless it is cash you are going to pay a little extra either way. There is LOCAL PAY app which is widely accepted but from my understanding you have to buy bitcoin to top it up, I'm not up for dabbling in bitcoin so chose not to use it. VP Bank doesn't have withdrawl charges but the ATM's I found were limited to 2 million (Danang and Hoi An) where as if you don't mind paying around £10 in ATM and WISE charge combined I find it easier to use the nearest cashpoint and take out 5 million. The grab ride to my nearest VP ATM is a £5 return journey.... and bear in mind that you only get a couple of charge free withdrawls per month from WISE as it is. We're here until the first week of Sept and then back to Penang, we've decided/booked Chiang Mai for the next border hop in December. FunFifties, Gottab, khaolakguy and 6 others 7 2 Quote

I stayed in Da Nang for 4.5 months last year and I truly enjoyed it. Regarding the apps, I found that the local Vietnamese guys were mostly using the Heesay (formerly Blued) app and that is where I found most of my hookups. https://www.heesay.com/ As you wrote, Hornet is not popular in Da Nang. Here is my trip report to Da Nang (it is now 1 year old) but maybe you might find some useful information. Enjoy your time in Da Nang and please say hello to your partner. :>) khaolakguy 1 Quote

a-447 Posted July 28 Posted July 28 I took the bus from Danang to Hue around 10 years ago. I took a pedicab to the citadel in Hue, and as we crossed the bridge, the very friendly and chatty driver offered me his sister for the afternoon! 'Do you have a brother?' He never spoke to me again. The citadel itself was very disappointing back then - the reconstruction was rudimentary to say the least, and many of the buildings were just facades with nothing behind them. I hope it's better now. I'm thinking of a trip to Danang, if I can be bothered getting off my arse and organising it. floridarob and khaolakguy 2 Quote

durian Posted 21 hours ago Author Posted 21 hours ago GENLTMAN'S SAUNA UPDATE We made a return visit on thursday evening, arriving at about 5.30pm (it opens at 5pm closes at 10pm) It was expectedly quiet which was nice, because we could have a steam and shower and watch people arrive. Sure enough it did get a little busier by 6.30pm This time, worth noting, that full size towels were in the lockers along with the small flannel. There's a lot of mentions in the google reviews that no full size towels were available. I guess it is possible that like the sauna in Hove back in the uk, they have naked days, altho if that is the case, they don't seem to be advertised. We also noticed this time that there were very few refreshments, last time a table of fruit and iced beer were available along with iced water. This time, there was just the iced water and crackers. Again, perhaps week days are different to weekends. We shall find out later today, Sunday, as were probably going back for a couple of hours, so I shall update later... We had a good time, lots of attention paid to both of us, a mix of ages and races, probably 25 people at most. We made friends with a very nice 22yo (possibly the tallest ever thai lad I've seen) from Bangkok, in town for a few days. I had to remind the older man trying to play with his cock while he was talking to us that no does actually mean no. He was very rude, the Thai lad told him two times he wasn't interested but still he tried to have his way. We pointed the Thai lad in the direction of the two gay bars in the area, he had no knowledge of them, so that evening he decided he was going to Q bar and when he gets to Hoi An in a day or two, he will visit the bar there. It's nice to help people. Cheers. FunFifties, bkkmfj2648 and Travelingguy 3 Quote
durian Posted 11 hours ago Author Posted 11 hours ago SUNDAY AT THE SAUNA So no towels today, just the flannel, but as we were leaving at around 8pm the lad doing the lockers was putting in full size towels for business tomorrow. So it seems weekends are naked days and weekdays you get a towel. Quite possibly for saving money on a busy weekend with laundry...... I suppose I could have asked..... Beer and fruit today along with the iced water. I also discovered they have a fine sample of poppers on sale. It was very busy today with a good mix of age race and body shape. Some delicious specimens on offer, I had a very enjoyable time as did hubby. One very beautiful young man wasn't at all fussy who had a pop at him so that saved me three million vnd. Of particular note, a very nice vietnam chap, I guess 35ish, short, buff as fuck, pecks to die for, 'forced' me to lick his chest and his very defined V while he stood in front of me in the steam room as I sat in the dark while the nice looking chap on my left decided my cock was nice enough for him to investigate. Delicious. Buff chap wanted me to go to a room with him but I politely declined. I'm there to satisfy my lust, not anyone else's. Of note, as I sat on a flat sofa bed thing in the darker room, an overhead fan provided much needed cooling relief, as did I to the two asian daddies fucking right next to me as I sat there, I provided my right shoulder to the bottom for his left leg to rest on, making it easier for him to lay back and let the top to do what he was doing. It's nice to help people.... cheers Travelingguy, Tomtravel, bkkmfj2648 and 1 other 1 3 Quote
