Truer words... with you being a Florida guy, I can't tell you how many of my favorite nights in Ft Laud were when the place was nearly empty but that one guy who had all the customers attention on a Friday night was all yours if you went back Sunday.

The dive bars are more fun if you have a crew with you.  Since I'm traveling solo this trip, it's super awkward when you walk in and there are 15 guys staring at you in desperation.  It feels so creepy when they're standing there defeated because they have to... wearing a number not a name (I know it's regulation).  I just wish I could re-program how these bars do what they do. Give them some advice for fun, sexier shows that get the juices flowing.  But seems like the routine is in place and has been for decades so I don't think they're open to ideas.

You get used to it... guys are more comfortable today than say 25 years ago, before apps and not everyone had internet access ... they were scared country guys with doe like eyes .... no smart phones or Google translate.... that's when I felt bad for them, today's guys are more aware, with youtube, pornhub and TikTok, they are more "worldly"


When you're the only one, make a decision on someone or two so the other guys can get back on their phones doing nothing, lol

I'm ok ordering a McDonald's value meal that way... but yeah just gets on my conscience a little when Big Mac is an actual person.

Just got back from my Tuesday morning blow.jo... uh massage.  Neo at The Sun Massage on Soi 6. I'd seen him on the streets constantly ... it's like he was stalking me. And I have no problem with that if he was.  Cute little Myrimar (I'm sure I'm slaughtering the spelling) guy with a big smile.

This alone makes me regret that I didnt checkout this bar on my last trip. Will be checking this out next trip for sure.

Ah. Sun Massage. I go there regularly because of the Vietnamese guys. Hehe! Some went on to work in bars. Some worked in bars and came back to massage shop.

it's a little odd to me tbh that the low end shops and the nicer ones have the same rates... basically 600/700 for the room and 900ish for the tip for full service.  I had to play my own music.  The lightning was less than relaxing and the AC wasn't on when we went into the room.  No candles.  It was very bare bones.  But I liked the kid so all was forgiven.  I guess places make up for what's lacking by providing extra services the fancier ones don't.

Checked the ferry off the list. Pretty awesome for a buck.  Tomorrow I might do the tourist boat day pass.  This city at night is just unbelievable.

I was drawn in when I saw 2 cute twinks wearing Banana shirts on the street. 5 guys currently stoneface on stage. None are those twinks. They’re bus boys I guess. Dang. Oh well I’ll hang for a bit.  No twinks on stage all gym goers. None my type. But night is young. They are not.

I like the banana layout. But yeah a little too old and muscly for me. I’ll give it til 1030 to improve.

Banana drag queen used to be the best ones compared to other bars. I said used to, because before my july/aug trip, they were decently dressed with elegant costumes. But on my recent visit, suddenly they start wearing very revealing and crude costumes. Definitely not for me lol

Oh they are definitely top notch. I just don’t come to these places for drag. When I go to McDonald’s I don’t want a salad.

Then you shouldnt stay too long in banana. Their boys offering is low, so if you already saw them on stage at one point, thats it. My last visit, less than 10.

Next show is 3 of the dudes in towels doing a chair routine. Not bad. The entertainment is def a step above the other places I’ve been to. Lights and sound are nice. 7 customers now. 
 

Aaaaand more drag. About 8 just walked in half girls who took convincing to come in and sit. They’re not amused. 😆
 

and you guessed it. More drag. Bring  back the On Golden Pond crew.

I noticed on your itinerary that you did not include Pattaya (Jomtien) which is twink heaven.

Any reason as to why no visit to Pattaya?

Keen observation. I’m thinking of popping over for a night or two on the last part of my trip in October. I just wanted to limit it to three cities that I was really thinking about living in. from watching YouTube videos I didn’t see pattaya as a place I’d want to live.  But yeah, this trip wasn’t so much to go to the bars . It was more to see where I might retire to.  My thinking is that I can visit Phuket or pattaya once I live here.

but how will you know a priori that you chose the right place to live and retire in if you exclude certain places?

If I move to Kok or CM and find all those YouTube videos were wrong I can always move. Pattaya just seems like a good place to visit and go wild for a few days. But didn’t seem remotely appealing as a place to live.
