I’m honestly pretty content with my sleeping compared to what I thought it would be. I have enough difficulty just going from the east to the West Coast of the United States when I travel.  I’ve been dreading a 12 hour change.  By staying up as much as I could those first couple days that definitely helped.  Ideally I would love to get six or seven hours once I settle in.  But it’s still the first week.  I think a big part of it is still like I say the Christmas morning vibe of being here for the first time.

They are considered 3rd gender in Thailand.

In the bars, the guys respect the mamasans because the mamasans can recommend them to customers. Also, the mamasans act as middleman between the guys and the boss of the bars. Mamasans have influence when the boss needs to decide whether to rehire a guy.

The big sized mamasan at Freshboy celebrated her birthday two weeks ago. Every guy gave her birthday gifts in the form of flowers, chocolates or cash gift. My guy gave her 500 baht.

He’s not a money guy. He actually kept trying to pay for my meals yesterday.   He hit on me on Grindr.  I certainly haven’t told him about my appreciation of the scene.  lol

I have apparently given too many likes. This website has started showing me an evil message. I have to wait until tomorrow to give more likes to replies. 😆 but just know I would’ve liked this post. This dynamic happens often when I travel to cities that have scenes like this.  I meet someone legitimately. But then at night I want to still go have fun at the bars.  Often I will throw my friends under the bus that I travel with and say I’m only going to these bars because my buddies are here in town with me.  😜

FYI...if only one or two customers they often cancel the show.  Hopefully that won't be the case when you visit, but you should be aware that possibility does exist.

Good to know thank you. But I would imagine the boys are still gonna hang around? I haven’t done an off yet. I’ve had a couple massages.  Met the guy on Grindr. He’s coming over today.  But I haven’t gone through the off process yet.  Definitely will at some point ..: probably a few times.  But the Thai go-go bar process is still kind of funky to me.  For now, just enjoying my time watching and tipping.  I tipped a guy a couple times on stage at dream last night. I could tell it wasn’t the norm by the reactions. I don’t care.  😜 I wish these places had private roomslike strip clubs in North America do. Less commitment.

Last visit, there is one or two drag number, but yes prior to that visit, it was all boys shows.

Agree. It's a small bar that doesn't get too busy but the quality is quite good. Keeps me coming back.

I find half the guys at Hot Male hot and I would off them.

One is a Vietnamese whom I saw in June but I didn't see him around in July.

Another guy is a friend of my guy and they worked together at Freshboy. Why he decided to move from Freshboy which has many customers to Hot Male which has far fewer customers, I want to find out. He is able to speak Mandarin as he has one Chinese parent.

I take half a sleeping pill on my first night, that seems to be enough to sort out my sleeping schedule!

Your report is yet another proof that tastes differ and/or that other people's experiences don't necessarily have to be the same as your own.

The last few times, I never had any luck at DreamBoy. Especially after the papasan recommended a boy to me on one of my recent visits who would fulfill my "requests," but that turned out not to be the case at all. When we both came to the conclusion that we weren't a match despite the papasan's advice, the papasan started interfering. Then, suddenly, the boy was willing to do what I wanted. This led to a very awkward conversation with the boy. I still politely declined. If a boy doesn't want to do it of his own accord but does after being coerced by the papasan, it can only end in disappointment in the bedroom.

There is plenty to criticize about GoodBoy: the smoking inside, the quality of the audio system, etc., etc. But in general, I find the boys there much more approachable. They regularly do their best to get your attention and seduce you. If you invite them over, they take the initiative by touching, kissing...

That's why we sometimes also use the term papasan instead of mamasan.  But many fall "in between," let's say.

Speaking of Feshboy: I think 1 or 2 years ago they had a very good drag/ladyboy performer there. Very energetic. And she did a lypsinc number while wearing burning gloves. Very good. But unfortunately, I haven't seen her/this act lately.

I totally agree with both of them. The guys there are quite often my type. And quality is more important than quantity, right? However, I find it very awkward when it's very quiet in Hotmale (which is unfortunately often the case) to invite a guy over while all the other guys are staring at you (and the guy sitting next to you) because there are no other customers.

I usually show her pictures I've taken with her, outside the bar over the course of the years.... she gets happy showing all the boys that she used to be in much better shape and younger, then she's my best friend for the night and makes sure I get whatever I need....😁

The root cause for this type of behavior can be because the papasan/mamasan:

• provided a loan or advance on salary to said guy and wants it paid back and pushes the guy to make the deal/sale,
• controls the guys contract and/or documents to live/work/exist in said bar and wants the guy to make the deal/sale,
• needs money and is going to get a commission on the deal/sale for services rendered,
• or what happened to me 1 time at X-Boys Pattaya - the head papasan urgently sat next to me AFTER I had arranged an off of one of their lead star guys (he was 50% Thai and 50% French and super sexy - as I often like mixed race Thais more than 100% Thai guys) and negotiated with me to relinquish the off because one of their superstar rich clients from China wanted the same guy that I was offing.  I was ok with it because sex for me is best done between 9am and 9pm - as all of my systems tend to function at their maximum during these operating hours.  So, I arranged with the head papasan that the guy would visit me in the late afternoon on the following day in my condo and I did not need to pay the off fee - as I was doing the bar a favor.  Win-win for everyone, me, bar, rich Chinese prime customer, and the guy who is being offed - 2 sales in 1 go.

When you get to know the guys at various bars it is truly amazing what you can discover about the relationship between the guys and their employer (bar) and intermediary (mamasan/papasan).

I make her my best friend (and my guy's best friend) by ocassionally buying her perfume (in addition to customary 100 baht tip). She treats my guy well.

When there are Chinese customers, she points at him on stage and recommends him as he can speak a bit of Mandarin.

She also recommends him when there are customers who look to off a guy with intention to drink whisky with them outside. My guy can hold his liquor and doesn't get drunk easily but he does suffer a hangover the next day.

The quid quo pro arrangement occurs when mamasan needs a reliable "fixer" to her problems.

For example, customers order a bottle of whisky and are happily drinking but the bar wants them to finish it quickly (so that can order another new bottle) and mamasan needs to find guys who can drink. My guy is one of those whom mamasan calls down. My guy can't say no to mamasan. If up to him, he rather remain on stage and be offed by a customer for short time. Drinking all night with customers inside the bar limits his earning for the night. The most he ever earned as tip for drinking with customers inside the bar is 500 baht. Most times, it's only 200 baht.

Because my guy reports to work on time most of time, he is available to help mamasan. Once, a Thai customer called her. He wanted an outcall massage with extras at 8pm. She directed my guy to go to hotel immediately and he duly obeyed. After my guy told me the story, I was flabbergasted. "I never know you know how to give a massage!" I said to him.

My 'favourite' from Hotmale told me he worked at Freshboy for a very short amount of time and although there are many customers, there weren't that many offs, which is why he moved to Hotmale. I found that quite interesting.
