From The BBC The estimated 2.3 million Filipino overseas workers form the economic backbone of their nation. The remittances they send home are vital; sustaining household incomes, driving consumer spending, supporting community development, and ensuring national economic stability - contributing 8.5% to GDP. In the first of our two-part series looking at the Philippine economy, Sam Fenwick meets overseas workers who send money home and those who have returned to set up businesses. Hi, I am travelling to Palawan for a week between February 22-28 and I would like to know if there are fun places for gays. I will be there mainly for R&R but a little guy fun would be nice too on the side. And speaking of 'side', I am only into side fun or oral fun. I heard there's a gay bar in Puerto Princesa but I will be there only for a night and I'm not keen on it based on what I read on google review. I am hoping if there are any members who've been to El Nido and had any experience meeting men -- local or tourists. Is there a beat there? If I fire up Grindr, will there be a lot of 'talents'? Your feedback would be much appreciated -- and if I g…

Can anyone recommend a place to stay in Manila (hotel or airbnb) which is close to night life (bars) massage spa and guest friendly? thanks

Spent three nights in Intramuros (old city); all apps open; scores of messages, none mentioning money. Was reminded of what Christian recently wrote about my India report, or what Jerry Seinfeld said about NY: "95% are undatable". They were all on the full-belly-chubby-fat continuum. I was blocking non stop. Maybe my experience would have been different, had I stayed in Makati. I responded to only 4, 3 of which disappeared. However, as is often quoted on this board- "it only takes one". L is a 30 y/o well employed professional, very good English, just my type (except the Asian dick), totally geared toward satisfying the older. Per the Philippino stigma, im…

Hi guys. I have a question for those of you familiar with the Philippines. If you were looking for a location as a possible home for retirement, what would be your first choice and why? Which would you advise staying away from? Would appreciate any thoughts. Thanks!

I will spend a few days in panglao, is there any known place with cute men that will give you a massage? all the places I see on google maps seems to have girl masseuses or women customers, which is usually indicating a legit place or a place for straight guys. Any advice welcome!

  10. Spent a few weeks in Manila and Boracay. This section isn’t very active, so thought I’d type up a quick report. Stayed in Makati in Manila, near the red light district. I would avoid this area. It’s very congested with traffic and filled with people asking for money and trying to sell you viagra and cialis on the streets. It’s not dangerous, but a stark difference when compared to BGC. Public transit is poor in the city so you will be taking Grab a lot. Walking is harder than in other Asian countries due. The traffic flow made more sense in Vietnam than here, for example. Sometimes the traffic light would be red, yet a traffic attendant would still be directing traff…

From Thai PBS World The Philippines is looking to forge reciprocal troops access agreements with Canada, France, New Zealand, and other countries, the defence minister said on Monday. Defence Secretary Gilberto Teodoro told ANC news channel he hoped the agreements could be signed next year. The agreements would allow greater interoperability, as armed forces of these countries can operate within the Philippine territory and vice-versa, Teodoro said. “It is close to the apex of a defensive alliance,” he said. The Philippines and Japan signed a landmark military pact earlier this month that allows the deployment of forces on each other’s soil in the…

My best friend is Black-American. He is 10 years younger than I, tall, thin, and a nice-looking guy. For years we have traveled together, and our trips to Asia were not so pleasant. There was a VAST difference in the way the Asian people interacted - treated - with him and me. With me, the people were very nice, polite, and accommodating, but not so much with him. Racism against Blacks was very prevalent in Korea, Japan, and Thailand. So much so that he refuses to visit those countries again. I am trying to convince him to go to the Phillipines with me. Has anyone on this site noticed how the people of the Phillipines are towards African-Americans?

Doea anyone has anything (pro or con) to say about Club Bath and Sunkissed Spa? Is there a sleazy action cinema at Isetan Complex? Any other venues? I've seen online more venues towards or in Quezon City, but that's too far from Makati and the old city.

I (51yo Australian) have been in Manila since Friday night and once again I have found that all my hook-up research and planning before arriving was just not necessary. I looked up massage spas like Greenappleboys and Redappleboys and booked two of the Redappleboys (Karl and Miko) before I arrived. They were beautiful but too young (both 21yo) and unexperienced for this bottom and so in the end that was probably 7000 pesos (3500 each) unnecessarily spent. They both did have beautiful bodies and big hard cocks though that were a delight to suck on... When I opened my Grindr looking for tops I was flooded with messages and any top guys I messaged returned pretty near…

I have no idea what this event is, and there's probably nothing gay about it. But I thought I'd share it here for the visual pleasure of those members who like some meat on their men. The video description mentions Tondo, which is generally a slum area in Manila. Some parts of Tondo are only grubby, other parts are positively dangerous.

From Pattaya Mail By Barry Kenyon The Philippines is in danger of being left behind in the rush to attract the world’s biggest potential tourist market, namely China. Rene Reyes, tourism officer at Manila’s office in Shanghai, says that the in-advance visa rules are restricting Chinese arrivals who prefer the visa-free or visa-on-arrival policies of Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia. In 2019 the Philippines receive 1.7 million Chinese tourists, but only 267,000 in 2023, way behind the vacation entrants from South Korea, the lead country. There is now a common assumption throughout the south east Asia region that abolishing pre-entry approval policies is the …

From VN Express / AFP Hundreds of people forced to work in an online scam center in the Philippines were rescued in a raid on Thursday that also saw eight suspects arrested, according to police. Acting on a tip from a Vietnamese man who alleged to have escaped the sprawling compound north of capital Manila, police said they unmasked an operation where suspected victims of human trafficking were forced into conducting various online scams. "The rescued workers told us (the company) engages in love scams, romance scam, cryptocurrency scams and other scam activities," said Gilberto Cruz, executive director of the crime task force that led the pre-dawn r…

From Philippine Daily Inquirer / The Nation Some of the most basic superstitions include not going home straight away and covering all the mirrors in the place the wake is being held Filipino superstitions can be a big deal. No matter what belief system people adhere to and where they live, Filipinos can be an awfully superstitious bunch. All sorts of beliefs and practices have been passed down since time immemorial. Some of them are still practised widely today - and some of us may not even know their superstitions to begin with. There are all sorts of superstitions people practice in daily life, but the more important superstitions (that can …

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has experience with the current or recent cruising scene in Manila? There are plenty of videos around of CR (comfort room) and park cruising on various porn sites and also on twitter but they don't usually give the location and sites like cruisinggays and utopia-asia list quite a few but I know from other places that the listings are often outdated... Thanks!
