From Pattayaone At 3:00am on August 27th, Pattaya police continued the bar raids in Pattaya, this time it was the turn of Oskar Karaoke Bar. Police had earlier received reports from locals in the area who had been having problems with the bar playing loud music well into the early hours from some time now, causing loss of sleep as well as other issues. Police made their way down to the bar, and were able to confirm the reports. From Bangkok Post CHON BURI - A 23-year-old South Korean man fell to his death from a condominium building in the Pattaya area in the early hours of Thursday. The man's body (name withheld) was found in the car park by a security guard at View Talay Condominium 5 in tambon Nong Prue of Bang Lamung district. Pattaya police were advised of his death about 2.30am. The man landed on a car, breaking the rear windshield, before tumbling to the ground. He was wearing black shorts and a T-shirt. In past trips I've sometimes gotten onto a baht bus and taken the ride down to the Jomtien area for breakfast, even if I'm not staying there. The morning walk along the beach used to be a nice one, although it looks like it's going to be a mess for a while. Tui's and the now-closed Bondi used to be spots I liked to sit, have coffee and breakfast, read the paper and people watch. The Poseidon used to have a nice breakfast, too, but I haven't been there in a long while. Tui's is, I suppose still a going concern. Where do you go for breakfast in the Jomtien area, and why? I have just read in the online version of The Pattaya Mail that the latest effort by the Junta to destroy tourism in Pattaya has been a total ban on Baht Buses (Songthaews) from operating on Soi Buakhao. Bloody ludicrous IMO

After a few years away from Pattaya I decided to visit my old food hangout in the Day Night area,the Salt & Pepper Cafe. I was quite surprised the owner came out and the frst thing he said to me was "Welcome Back !! I was surprsed he remembered me, he then re - starts a conversation that we had 3 years prior!! Great Cafe with very cheap prices and friendly service. For example I had a Club Sandwich and Coffee and I think it came to around 110 baht compared to the Cafe in Tuk Com which came to 255 Baht.

This was posted on another Forum by arsenal. Seems there's a crackdown on Pattaya hotels that don't have a license. Only a small proportion of hotels are legally licensed. I'm due in Pats in Ten days and think I will stay at Zing instead of my usual hotel in Boystown. Has anyone stayed there recently ?. It used to be called Ganymede. Is it a gay hotel or maybe mixed now ? What's the pool like ?. Any information appreciated.
