I will try to remember to collect here resources for those looking for ways to support communities of color. Although I wrote "Black" in the headline, because I think that right now all those fighting White Privilege and Supremacy feel Black, the idea would be to support business owned by People of Color. Please, join with any resources you can add. Black-owned restaurants are seeing a surge of interest and support. Advocates say it’s a start. 77 black owned businesses BLK OWNED BUSINESSES DC DIRECTORY DC BLACK OWNED RESTAURANTS OPENED DUR…

Came down to Sarasota and Clearwater for a week. Some observations: TSA now allows you to bring in carryon 1 bottle hand sanitizer up to 12 oz and 1 pack of wipes. Bring them. The airlines are "requiring" masks to board but not on the plane. Bring a good mask. Flights are few so planes are no longer mostly empty. Don't expect maid service at hotels. At ours they leave clean linens by the door in a plastic bag. At least here few people wear masks in stores and sit down restaurants and barbers are open. The 25% rule moved to 50% in a week. Beach towns are very crowded. Look for more remote resorts than before.

Finally, a great line from Joe Biden that is sure to get under Trump's thin skin. In response to a reporter's question yesterday, regarding Trump poking fun at Biden for wearing a mask in public, Biden let loose with the statement, "Trump is falsely masculine." Biden needs to repeat this line over and over again, and say it with more punch. Falsely Masculine = Whiney Little Bitch. That is precisely what Trump is. Biden can't say Whiney Little Bitch on television, but he can sure say Falsely Masculine.

From Bangkok Post Lockdown leaves migrant workers exposed A partial lockdown in Thailand to limit the spread of coronavirus exempts construction, exposing thousands of migrant workers to the deadly disease, human rights groups warned on Monday. Thailand has more than 700 coronavirus cases, a health ministry spokesman said on Monday, the majority in Bangkok. The government has shut down malls in Bangkok for 22 days and extended the closure of schools, bars and cinemas in the capital to curb the outbreak. Several provinces also implemented similar measures. But construction work on high-rise apartments and office complexes continues, with hundreds of…

From Coconuts Bangkok COVID not spreading undetected, task force says, vowing vigilance Health officials today denied that the failure to detect new locally transmitted coronavirus infections means they aren’t trying hard enough. While announcing that the day’s only new case came from overseas, the outbreak task force said its limited testing that targets “likely” populations; such as medical workers, state officials and new prisoners; had come back negative in the last 32,500 people tested. “The ministry is on task to test 100,000 people classified in risky groups and areas, which began two weeks ago. So far over 32,000 people, or 32.56%, have been tes…

Obama to speak on police reform today as George Floyd protests continue. How to watch: This is sure to drive Trump absolutely mad. As we get closer to November, I'm confident President Obama will be more visible on behalf of Joe Biden. I can't wait to watch Trump's skin crawl.

The Jeffrey Epstein case is going to make a fascinating movie. I wonder who will file the first lawsuit to prevent that from ever happening? With the so-called "suicide" of Jeffrey Epstein, conspiracy theorists are out in full force. And who can blame them? The mystery surrounding the death of this man is a serious head scratcher. At this point, it's a made for TV movie with a remarkably unbelievable script. How does a famous sex-offender, who supposedly attempted suicide just weeks ago, get removed from his suicide watch shortly after his cellmate was transferred, leaving Epstein alone in his cell? Two prison officials are on record saying these acts were a vio…

Been away from posting for awhile.... this isolation thing is not working for me, but I can happily report that I am here, I am employed (!), and continue to prosper free of the shit from the demented "Daddy" site... (sorry, just had to throw the last thing in...) Musings of an ex-grad student: I hope that all of you are safe and healthy. This is a stressful and frightening time for everyone, and the uncertainty of where the pandemic is headed adds to our anxiety. Our schools are closing. Our favorite places are closed. Our communities are under emergency alert. We are told to practice “social distancing” to prevent the spread of the virus. And that is right — f…

Its crystal ball time. Although Thailands domestic carriers can operate from tomorrow, the restrictions including social distancing mean that capacity can only be about 50%. I havent looked at fares but the Bangkok Post reckoned these would rise by 50%. Not surprising. In the USA, the average internal flight now only has 17 passengers. What of international airlines? When will they be allowed to land at DMK and BKK? What will their fares be like? How many will want to travel? Most of the fleets of international airlines have been mothballed and many staff either laid off or taking early retirement. Will passengers from certain countries be banned for longer than oth…

From Coconuts Bangkok Automated people movers designed in Canada and built in China will soon arrive to whisk passengers between commercial developments on the Chao Phraya River. The first of several Bombardier Innovia APM300s will arrive next month to service the Gold Line which will connect the BTS Silom Line to waterfront properties – namely the Iconsiam shopping mall, a city management firm announced yesterday. Though marketed as a monorail, the Gold Line will more resemble another retro-futurist Disney ride: the PeopleMover. Its three people movers, with two cars each, ride on wheels which follow a rubber track. Each train will hold about 140 pas…

One of the issues affecting foreigners seeking to get back to Thailand as soon as feasible is the "transit" status of connecting airports. Scanning through today's news came up with some information on Singapore and Hong Kong airports. However, the reports about both Singapore and Hong Kong are sketchy on details and it's uncertain if the new rules announced by Beijing will affect transit passenger traffic in Hong Kong. SINGAPORE From Reuters Singapore, a regional travel and tourism hub, will gradually allow travellers to transit through its Changi Airport from June 2, the city-state's aviation regulator said on Wednesday. Currently, foreign passenger…

From Khaosod English Otters Reconquer Thai Beach in Tourists’ Absence RANONG — Wiggling out from the water, rubbing their backs and bellies along the beach weren’t the usual crowd of tourists, but of rare sea otters. Residents of Koh Phayam in Ranong Friday spotted at least 10 smooth-coated otters playing on the beach, months after tourists left the island due to the coronavirus pandemic. “I’m so excited and happy to see them,” Jutharat Ladkaew, owner of a resort on Koh Phayam who posted photos of them online said. “Instead of sunbathing farangs and families vacationing, we have a new group of sunbathers.” Jutarat counted around 10 otters. Th…

Came across this article when wondering about the fate of our favorite boys after reading a different article about porn industry adapting to the situation. https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2020/05/24/us/sex-workers-coronavirus-intl/index.htm Don't kiss. Tell clients to wash their hands before they touch you. Wear a mask. Avoid face-to-face positions. And even: Put on a nurse costume and pull out a thermometer -- if his temperature is normal, make it part of the game. If he has a fever, end the session. These are real tips that advocacy groups and health authorities around the world are sharing in the age of coronavirus, hoping to protect workers in the vast and of…

It's now being reported that men with longer ring fingers stand a better chance of avoiding coronavirus, or at least a less difficult bout with it. It's all in how much testosterone your mom's uterus exposed you to when you were living in there. Sounds like a stretch, but hey, it made the newspapers: https://nypost.com/2020/05/26/men-with-long-ring-ringers-are-less-likely-to-die-from-the-coronavirus-study/ If I believe this stuff, my chances are good! It is that time of year. However, are gays who love escorts immune to a pandemic? Considering the BNP Paribas Open tennis tournament has been cancelled and Coachella Music Festival postponed to October, what on earth is Oliver and Co. thinking? Everyone else has pretty much stopped flying. So many flights have been canceled. How many more planes will eventually get grounded? Why should gays ignore the warnings and fly into Palm Springs from all over the world just to party and mingle with escorts? Is a pandemic really a good time for escorts to be socializing and getting intimate with strangers? Does the saintly host Oliver really have everyone's best …
