Here is the word for this week: ineffable \in-EF-uh-buhl\, adjective: 1. Incapable of being expressed in words; unspeakable; unutterable; indescribable. 2. Not to be uttered; taboo. . . .the tension inherent in human language when it attempts to relate the ineffable, see the invisible, understand the incomprehensible. -- Jeffrey Burton Russell, A History of Heaven Pope John Paul II notes that people are drawn to religion to answer the really big questions--for example, "What is the ultimate ineffable mystery which is the origin and destiny of our existence?" -- William A. Sherden, The Fortune Sellers One cannot blame them very much; explaining the ineffable is dif…

  5. Oil change reignites debate over GPS trackers By PAUL ELIAS, Associated Press Writer – Sat Oct 16, 2:30 pm ET SAN FRANCISCO – Yasir Afifi, a 20-year-old computer salesman and community college student, took his car in for an oil change earlier this month and his mechanic spotted an odd wire hanging from the undercarriage. The wire was attached to a strange magnetic device that puzzled Afifi and the mechanic. They freed it from the car and posted images of it online, asking for help in identifying it. Two days later, FBI agents arrived at Afifi's Santa Clara apartment and demanded the return of their property — a global positioning system tracking device now at the c…

"The Government intends to appeal the Court's decision. During the pendency of that appeal, the military should not be required to suddenly and immediately restructure a major personnel policy that has been in place for years, particularly during a time when the Nation is involved in combat operations overseas," said Clifford Stanley, Undersecretary of…

Jonathan Franzen didn't even get nominated for his novel Freedom by the National Book Award Committee. He won the award 9 years ago or his novel The Corrections, and the latest is getting great reviews and was picked by Oprah Winfrey for her viewers to all read. I only noticed this because I am at the moment just about finishing up Freedom and like it a lot. It has scathing commentary on today's society and politics, so if you like fiction, then this book might be for you, despite the stupid award committee! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/10/13/jonathan-franzen-snubbed-national-book-award_n_761159.html

  9. I have been around too long to play games with other clients / customers. I write reviews of guys who are good so that others will see them. I want them to get work. I want them to make more money. Frankly, I don't understand why a client would not want this for someone they like. I know of one client that I see EVERY time I am in Brazil. He is a nice guy but he always comes to me with an agenda. He wants to tell me who is good in bed and who is a thief. I learned several years ago to ignore what he says. If he says someone stole from him, that means he likes the boy and doesn't want him with other customers. If he tells me a boy is only Activo that means that he…

U.S. District Judge Virginia Phillips' landmark ruling was widely cheered by gay rights organizations that credited her with getting accomplished what President Obama and Washington politics could not. "This order from Judge Phillips is another historic and courageous step in the right direction, a step that Congress has been noticeably slow in taking," said Alexander Nichol…

The CDC today reported that 1 in 22 American blacks will be diagnosed with HIV in their lifetime - that's eight times higher than for white people. Any ideas as to why this is? Tons of black on the downlow? Or does the higher incarceration rate = more prison sex = higher risk of HIV transmission?
