I am looking for a new phone.Nothing really wrong with my old one except that it is seriously behind the times and the web function is glacially slow. Si at Tmobile they have two soon to be three new phones that I am considering. All of them run on Android platform. All of them are around $200,all of them would run my around $80 a month all in for a plan which would support the new tech. I am NOT interested in an Iphone. It has to be an Android or Blackberry. The first phone I got was free after rebate and the plan was around $45 and I never came close to using all of my minutes,I guess I have become spoiled and those simple times just do not look appealing at all now.

  3. Back in July 2008, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued a new policy (PDF) regarding searches of documents and electronic devices at the border. CBP asserts it has the right to conduct these searches of any traveler — citizens and noncitizen alike "absent individualized suspicion," — meaning no suspicion of wrongdoing is even required to conduct a search. Despite an update to the policy in August 2009 (PDF), everything from the photos of your kids on your camera phone to your company's trade secrets on your laptop, is fair game. The ACLU feels that this policy violates travelers' First and Fourth Amendment rights. So we filed a Freedom of Information Act request fo…

Gawker has managed to get advance details on the John Travolta expose book. To summarize: Travolta is a size queen, a bottom and into black and Middle Eastern dudes with the occasional Korean and Mexican thrown in the mix. His preference seems to be straight acting dudes and doing them in public sauna while other dudes watch. 7. In the words of the Holy Father himself,"There may be justified individual cases, for example when a male prostitute uses a condom, where this can be...a first bit of responsibility." One can only wonder why this particular aspect of the use of condoms was singled out to justify a reversal of a century old opposition by the Holy See to prophylactics.

47 years ago today the President of the United States was assassinated. In retrospect, I think the country was killed as well. Perhaps all of the changes we have seen since then that have destroyed the politics that governed us would have happened anyway, but our innocence was lost that day, and never again have Americans had the same level of faith in their government. Nowadays we have 24 hour cable news, and every mole, blot, ink stain, or whatever is revealed and repeated over and over. Kennedy's romps with Marilyn Monroe and associations with the mob would never be kept so secret now. The country may have been as corrupt then as is it is now, maybe, but we just didn'…

Not to make fun of folks with Alzheinmer's, a truly awful thing to have, but I see a big ad today in my favorite magazine, Parade, for those who have a moderate to severe form of the disease. A large pharmaceutical company has now issued a larger dose of their medicine designed to slow the progression of the disease. Previously only a 5 or 10 mg tablet was available, but the great news is that a 23 mg is now provided. The article claims that the pill, Aricept, has been proven to slow the progression of Alzheimer symptoms. Yet it is not for everybody, certainly not for those who don't have the disease. But it's also not for those allergic to Aricept or medicines containi…

  11. The 19 Senators Who Voted To Censor The Internet from the free-speech-isn't-free dept This is hardly a surprise but, this morning (as previously announced), the lame duck Senate Judiciary Committee unanimously voted to move forward with censoring the internet via the COICA bill -- despite a bunch of law professors explaining to them how this law is a clear violation of the First Amendment. What's really amazing is that many of the same Senators have been speaking out against internet censorship in other countries, yet they happily vote to approve it here because it's seen as a way to make many of their largest campaign contributors happy. There's very little chance that…

So, the National Enquirer has come up with at least 50 men willing to go on the record as saying they had sex with John Travolta. That's a pretty big number to dispute and while the NE is not the New York Times, I suspect they are on the money with this one. Supposedly the dudes he was doing were ones he picked up and hooked up with in gay saunas or young male escorts. So, I have to ask: Any of you escorts ever get picked up by John? Enquirering minds want to know.

Here is the word of the week: moue \MOO\, noun: A pouting grimace. The model's professional moue dissolved into pure sensation. -- Anthony Haden-Guest, "(Art) Project Runway," New York Observer, November, 2010 Dorian Gray stepped up on the dais with the air of a young Greek martyr, and made a little moue of discontent to Lord Henry, to whom he had rather taken a fancy. -- Oscar Wilde, The Picture of Dorian Gray Moue is a loan word from the French for "mouth and lips."

America's Dirtiest Cities California's got seven of them. Will voters finally help clean the Golden State's brown air? Provided by: By Christopher Helman, Forbes.com Nov 16, 2010 At the ballot box this November California voters showed that they are determined to clean up their state's deplorable air quality. They quashed Proposition 23, which would have temporarily suspended key emissions-reduction tenets in the Golden State's Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006. How temporarily? Until pigs fly, or rather until the state unemployment level dropped to 5.5%--from the 12.4% it's at now. Having survived the challenge (62% of voters rejected Prop 23) the emission…

  15. A recent study says that teens spend 3 hours 45 minutes on a cell phone every day during the summer. I can't think of a week that I have spent so much time on a cell phone. The study also said if asked to choose between the cell phone and the TV, most would give up the TV. Aparently, most are not into Big Brother this summer. But, I cannot imagine the phone being that important today. When I was a teen it was the keys to the car that had me under control. Any threat to take those away and I toed the line. Now, it looks like the cell phone is the one thing that parents can use to get a few chores done. http://news.com.com/8301-10784_3-9742104-7...ag=2547-1_3-0-5

The lead singer for The Doors, a once super-popular rock group, was arrested in 1969 for indecent exposure at a concert in Miami, where he allegedly got so excited by his music that he whipped out his massive member and exposed it to the crowd, after having originally simulated masturbation. Convicted, his fans did not seem to lose interest in him. Now, Florida governor Charlie Crist is talking about pardoning the late Mr. Morrisson. Why? Who knows. Perhaps Crist, long rumored to be gay, has seen more of the evidence in th is case than we have. Which leads to the point of my thread: Show us the evidence. Let us judge for ourselves if he exposed himself! Surely there are…

Ok, this is one of the most fucked up things I've seen any breeder do in a long time. Yes, it's true that I really support Derek Hough and Jennifer Gray to win this season's contest, but now your voice is much louder when you vote for Bristol Palin, Certainly thousands upon thousands are going that right now, God be with them, but Bristol can only win if others close to god on this issue speak up too. We are an instrument in God's voice. It's only by us voting for her that possibly the worst Finales ever will conclude with a Palin victory, Do your part and vote often. With the Christian right supporting this future first daughter, you too can be a part of history by casting a vote for her and insuring that she will take the top prize.Later, all of this Pa…
