The economy sucks, it's hard to hire when you are broke. And, if you do, you have to worry about getting it up. I love the Vive Viagra commercial where the older guy dances with the (always) younger woman, both smiling because they know a fuck is coming. Then they get on the elevator to go to his room- the elevator, get it? Kids all over America know that gramps is about to get laid. (The escort fee isn't mentioned.) But now there is more inadequacy. Is your dick big enough? Can you compete? Lately I have been seeing commercials where beautiful ladies tell me I can make it bigger. Unsaid is that I had better if I want a go with her.) So, a scientist did an informal stu…

I am a little confused. as long as its against the right, and against anyone Conservative, its ok for old queens and their ilk to bash, insult and demean people.. But If I make a thread with our current case of affirmative action of a president's name as the title and some of the outright lies he has told it gets erased?

Under "privacy" on his site at http://alec.turboflip.com/ Alec Hayden says he specializes "in meeting people with strict privacy requirements." He also says "If you are a public figure, I am amenable to operating within special protocols. Though, if possible, I prefer not to communicate through intermediaries or handlers." What special protocols do public figures use when hiring? Is it like a spy movie, where two people recognize each other in a meeting place by slipping code phrases into their conversation? What kinds of intermediaries do they use? Do escorts get calls from interns or secretaries?

Knew I had overlooked something on the road to riches... Cashing in You knew it. It was only a matter of time before America's most-celebrated hero signed a book deal. But who could have guessed that Chesley B. Sullenberger's book would be part "inspirational poetry"? No matter. He reportedly got $3.2 million to sign the deal. (Search for more.) But whether you're an instant celebrity cashing in on fleeting fame or a major superstar just padding your bank account, the book deal has become part of the trip. Here's a roundup of some recent authors who can be fairly described as "cashing in." Everybody remembers Joe Wurzelbacher, aka "Joe the Plumber," from the last …

Simon Doonan is the creative director at Barney's and also writes a column on fashion for the NY Observer. I usually can't work up much of an interest, but I found this latest one clever. I also agree with it wholheartedly. http://www.observer.com/author/simon-doonan?sort=featured

I thought this commentary was well worth reading and I agree with every word of it: _____ Commentary: We'll Never Know Why They Kill By Bob Greene CNN Contributor Editor's note: CNN Contributor Bob Greene is a bestselling author whose forthcoming book is "Late Edition: A Love Story." (CNN) -- Carnage in Germany, carnage in Alabama, and one of the most saddening aspects of the killings is this: The impulse to ask "why," while present, seems somehow muted. There will be a search for answers -- why did Michael K. McLendon, the gunman in the American South, murder 10 people, why did Tim Kretschmer, the gunman in the German South, murder 15 people…

Just read a news clip about the 10 most intelligent dog breeds in the world. Full story at: http://www.divinecaroline.com/article/2206...n-smartest-dogs Number one is the border collie and number two is the poodle. The poodle was quite the surprise to me. I never thought of this breed as smart.

A couple of new points on Sarah Palin. Her future Son-in-Law was holding down a job on the oilfields of Alaska that required a high school diploma...which he didn't have. When it became public knowledge, he quit the job. Of course, Palin nor her husband who works on the same oil field, had anything to do with getting him the job without the minimum qualifications. And, the state Troopers say that the arrest of Palin's daughter's future mother-in-law was delayed because of the campaign and election involving Sarah Palin. They said that the local/state law enforcement officals were not calling the shots on the case....so let's see...what does that leave...oh, the …

Vanity Fair discusses a new biography of author John Cheever, where his daughter is quoted as saying that his love for men precluded anything swishy. "...he prided himself on maintaining a masculine front with no minty accents. Swish he abhorred. Although he loved men, she says, he feared and despised what he defined as the homosexual community; the limp-wristed, lisping men who are sometimes the self-appointed representatives of homosexual love in our culture. Men who run gift shops, sell antiques, strike bargains over porcelain tea sets." I wonder what he would have thought of Adam Lambert...or Ryan Seacrest...or a butch guy like me? Or do I care?

Before his apparent acceptance, then rejection, of a woman's right to choose abortion, RNC chair Michael Steele also seemed to go two directions at once on gay rights. Andrew Sullivan sums up in his 'Daily Dish' column: Steele And Gay Couples: WTF? "I think that there's a whole lot that goes into the makeup of an individual that, uh, you just can't simply say, oh, like, 'Tomorrow morning I'm gonna stop being gay.' It's like saying, 'Tomorrow morning I'm gonna stop being black.'" - Michael Steele. Josh Marshall follows up. The interview was given on February 24. In that interview, Steele also says about gay couples' rights: "Well, my position is, hey, look, I have been…

GENEVA – A Swiss lawyer working on behalf of the Iraqi journalist who threw shoes at U.S. President George W. Bush says his client will seek political asylum in Switzerland. Geneva-based lawyer Mauro Poggia says Muntadhar al-Zeidi's life is in danger in Iraq. Al-Zeidi is currently in an Iraqi jail awaiting trial on charges of assaulting a foreign leader for his Dec. 14 outburst at a news conference in Baghdad. Poggia says he was contacted by al-Zeidi's family earlier this month. He says the journalist has been beaten and tortured in Iraqi detention. Poggia told The Associated Press on Monday that al-Zeidi would have to go to the Swiss Embassy in Baghda…

Can't make this stuff up. NY Post is reporting: PERV GROUP PUTS 10G 'HIT' ON ANDY SECURITY TIGHTENED: Attorney General Andrew Cuomo has been targeted for death by a person claiming to be an official with NAMBLA, the North American Man/Boy Love Association. ALBANY - A $10,000 Internet bounty was placed on Attorney General Andrew Cuomo's head by a suspected agent of the North American Man/Boy Love Association, The Post has learned. The shocking death threat by the infamous organization of pederasts was posted three weeks ago on an Internet news-group bulletin board that originated in The Bronx, law-enforcement sources said. The Nation -- Richard Nixon, when asked his opinion of an up-and-coming Texan named George Herbert Walker Bush, famously replied with casual disinterest, observing that Bush was alright as ambitious young pols went. Then, Nixon lit up at the thought of Bush's wife, Barbara. "Now," he declared, gleefully, "there's a woman who knows how to hate." In the circles of contemporary Republicanism, the ability to hate is the most highly valued of skills. That is main reason why, in the party's time of current peril, radio host Rush Limbaugh has emerged as the Grand Old Party's dominant figure. Limbaugh knows how to hate. Full story at: http://ne…

The bad economic news just doesn't seem to let up. Today's national unemployment stats confirm that we are experiencing a downturn similar to the Great Depression - SIMILAR - thankfully, we're not in those depths - yet. So, let's compare what we see in our own locales. There are at least two good measures: unemployment rates and forecast budget deficits Here's the picture in Minnesota: Minnesota's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose to 7.6 percent in January, the highest rate since mid-1983. This rise was due primarily to an increase of 19,400 in the number of unemployed. Minnesota lost 74,900 jobs over the year in January, down 2.8 percent. This is the large…

To judge by the deals being offered by the airlines, travelers must be in short supply right now. But for those who can see their way clear to undertaking a trip out of the country, there are those deals, plus a favorable exchange rate for the dollar against most currencies. As an example, the euro now costs in the area of 1.26. That compares to about 1.68 this time last year. Gather those rosebuds.

The President has been unequivocal about not intending to dig into the sordid topic of the Bush administration's use of torture, rendition, etc. Congress could, but probably won't, at least not effectively. I once heard Andrew Sullivan say that it will all gradually surface because there are a great many lawsuits brought by private individuals now working their way through the courts. I was skeptical. Now the Padilla case against Yoo shows signs of having real legs. There may be hope. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/07/us/07yoo..._r=1&ref=us

The debate continues. This from the BBC website. The Vatican is sponsoring a five day conference to mark the 150th anniversary of the publication of Charles Darwin's Origin of Species. The subject is the compatibility of evolution and creation. They aim to re-examine the work of scientific thinkers whose revolutionary ideas challenged religious belief: Galileo and Charles Darwin. Scientists, philosophers and theologians from around the world are gathering at the prestigious Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome to discuss the compatibility of Darwin's theory of evolution and Catholic teaching. Christian churches were long hostile to Darwin because his theory c…

FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason University senior Ryan Allen dresses in drag and doesn't mind being called a queen — homecoming queen, to be exact. Allen, who is gay and performs in drag at nightclubs in the region, said he entered the homecoming contest as a joke, competing as Reann Ballslee, his drag queen persona. But he considers the victory one of his happiest moments and proof that the suburban Washington, D.C., school famous for its run to the Final Four a few years back celebrates its diverse student body. "I was very touched by how Mason was so supportive through the whole process of allowing a boy in a dress to run for homecoming queen," Allen said in a phone …

Mayor Michael Bloomberg doesn't like protesters outside his house, so those New York gays worried about police stings at bookstores can relax just a little. Here's the story from today's NY POST: By LARRY CELONA Last updated: 2:07 am March 9, 2009 Posted: 1:57 am March 9, 2009 Following accusations that vice cops were making dubious arrests of gay men at pornography shops, the NYPD has decided that similar investigations will now have to be approved by the department's higher-ups, sources told The Post. Police Commissioner Ray Kelly called the head of the department's Organized Crime Control Bureau, which oversees the vice squad, and others to Police Headquarters a…
