Months before the September 11, 2001, terror attacks on New York and Washington, the US and Thailand established the Counterterrorism Intelligence Center (CTIC), a secretive unit presciently which joined the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and Thai intelligence officials to gather information about regional terror groups. The CIA ran a secret interrogation facility at a Thai military base where at least two terror suspects from Pakistan and Afghanistan were transported and later tortured. 3. Some lovely shots of Patrick Wilsons lovely ass. Many full frontal(cgi-but we have been told it was not far off from reality)of Billy Crudup. Writing was very stiff. Art direction was great. Acting was ok-just ok. Lots and lots of violence and sex.Deffinately not a film for the kiddies. Unfortunately the villian is a(although never outright labled-it was many "dropped hankie"moments)gay man. That is getting old.

MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) -- Vermont has become the fourth state to legalize gay marriage -- and the first to do so with a legislature's vote. The Legislature voted Tuesday to override Gov. Jim Douglas' veto of a bill allowing gays and lesbians to marry. The vote was 23-5 to override in the state Senate and 100-49 to override in the House. Under Vermont law, two-thirds of each chamber had to vote for override. The vote came nine years after Vermont adopted its first-in-the-nation civil unions law. It's now the fourth state to permit same-sex marriage. Massachusetts, Connecticut and Iowa are the others. Their approval of gay marriage came from the courts.

A recent report in the Bangkok papers seems to have gone unnoticed on this thread. Last week, the European Union banned 16 airlines from its airspace for "poor safety records." Thailand's One-Two-Go featured on a list that was mostly of airlines from the Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Benin. The ban came after the discovery of substandard safety and management practices, and falsification of documents by some pilots. A One-Two-Go domestic flight crashed on landing in Phuket in September 2007 leading the the death of 89 passengers and injuries to another 41. One-Two-Go is the subsidiary of Orient Thai Airlines. The parent airline now flies some charter flights and just one s…

If you have not been reading the papers or watching the news, Thailand is once again in a mess. The "red shirts" who are loyal to the ex prime minister are rioting and trying out oust the current Prime Minister. In my old home of Pattaya, they blocked off streets and closed the a major summit. They have promised not to close the airports again but I am glad I am not there with all this mess going on. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/7995065.stm http://www.pattayadailynews.com/shownews.p...NEWS=0000008883

Polish politician fumes over "gay" elephant in zoo Fri Apr 10, 2009 1:05pm BST WARSAW (Reuters) - A Polish politician has criticized his local zoo for acquiring a "gay" elephant named Ninio who prefers male companions and will probably not procreate, local media reported on Friday. "We didn't pay 37 million zlotys ($11 million) for the largest elephant house in Europe to have a gay elephant live there," Michal Grzes, a conservative councilor in the city of Poznan in western Poland, was quoted as saying. "We were supposed to have a herd, but as Ninio prefers male friends over females how will he produce offspring?" said Grzes, who is from the right-…
