Now since my cat is a girl you'd think I'd get ads with shirtless guys in it. But no, it's still a string of lingerie models. Facebook is weird.

While waiting for my new phone to arrive I found my old phone and figured I could power it up and use it until my new phone arrives. Turns out I can't because it needs so many updates. Ever since I powered it up though it's been updating. And every time it completes an update it makes a happy little chirp. There are still over 100 updates to go but it makes me smile every time I hear that sound. It's like my phone is going "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can."

First day bars were open. Was walking home. A guy stands in front of me with a knife and demands my phone and my wallet. Drunk me tried to punch him at which point a guy behind me punched me in the back. The the two of them started kicking me while I was down. A neighbor heard the noise and came out at which point the two guys grabbed my phone - which had all my cards in it - and ran off. Welcome to life after lockdown.

From CBS 60 Minutes 60 Minutes has tackled many strange stories on 60 Minutes, but perhaps none like this. It's the story of the U.S. government's grudging acknowledgment of unidentified aerial phenomena— UAP—more commonly known as UFOs. After decades of public denial the Pentagon now admits there's something out there, and the U.S. Senate wants to know what it is. The intelligence committee has ordered the director of national intelligence and the secretary of defense to deliver a report on the mysterious sightings by next month. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/ufo-military-intelligence-60-minutes-2021-05-16/

Without question, my favorite show this season is Pose! I love it and I love Billy Porter's character. This week's episode had me in tears and calling friends to chat about it. The religious roots and the singing move me. This article is well-written: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/general-news/billy-porter-hiv-positive-diagnosis-1234954742/

I mean she's a lesbian American talk show host? I really don't get why her losing a million viewers is so critical for us. Now if Kevin Spacey had a talk show and lost a million viewers then I'd care.

From the BBC We earlier posted on reports that Palestinian rockets launched into southern Israel had struck a packaging factory in the Eshkol region and killed two Thai workers. Thailand's foreign ministry has now confirmed that two of its citizens died - while eight others were wounded - in the attack at 14:50 local time (11:50 GMT) some 14km (about nine miles) from the border with Gaza. The two Thai men had been working at the Obad farming estate in Eshkol town, the ministry said. One eyewitness, Adirek Jinseng, a Thai worker at the estate, told the BBC's Thai service that the attack happened as people were resting during their lunch break. "I h…

From Channel News Asia BANGKOK: A rights activist hit with almost a decade of lawsuits after raising concerns about labour conditions at a Thai pineapple company received a court decision Tuesday (May 11) clearing him in the final case against him. Andy Hall faced a series of defamation charges after contributing to a 2012 report on alleged poor working conditions, low wages and child labour at Natural Fruit's factory. In 2016 the Briton was found guilty of criminal defamation and given a suspended three-year prison sentence before the conviction was overturned in June last year. The company later launched a 300-million-baht (US$9.6 million) civil defa…
