I assume there’ve been no posts on this city – including nada in responses to my planning questions - because no one has been there. Well, I highly recommend to stop ignoring this city as a tourist attraction, especially if one is already on the way north, to Salvador (as I am) or to Manaus. Brasilia is worth 24 hours. I ended my walking tour of the oll-colonial part of the city at around 5, and walked to MM. Alas, it was closed. A couple of Brazilian saunas recently increased the admission fees. São Paulo´s Lagoa is now R$40.00 weekdays, R$50.00 weekends. Rio´s Point 202 is now R$40.00 every day of the week (up from R$35.00). Club 117 so far remains the same (R$35.00 every day). The dollar in the meantime keeps going down: R$1.64 is the latest quote. Point 202 at least has some facility improvements: A new bar-lounge on the third floor with a smokers section. The bar is actually bigger and better than the one on the main floor and is a nice spot to relax and talk with the boys. We had chatted about this on another thread and I had agreed to help organize it for those interested. But, I think it would be a great opportunity for first-time travelers, as well as, veterans that would like to meet up at a common time. I have posted pics of this set of twins previously, there are one of three sets I know that worked at the Rio Suanas. This set of twins have never worked together or even at the same sauna at the same time, as opposed to the other two sets who worked together! Having just got back from Rio a couple of weeks ago, I was going thru my photos and although incredibly difficult , selected my all time favorites in each category.
