Lurker asked me to post about varied nights at the saunas. Here's the message he sent me: Hi there. I posted a question to you on my thread about my upcoming trip to Rio. I asked which sauna is best on each night of the week. I would appreciate it if you post a response so myself and others can have the input of a "local" who knows the daily schedules.. Thanks So here's what I can tell you. And keep in mind that I go to a sauna at the most, twice-weekly and sometimes not for a while. However, I have an older American staying with me in my home and he goes at least five nights/week and reports back faithfully. After all, two old queers do need something to chat about o…

I arrived in Porto Alegre(LAX to Mia to Sao Paulo to P.A) at 2:00p.m. today after a 22 hr flight including transfer time. After checkin in, I went to the local store to get shampoo/coke/OJ/shaving cream, etc. By the time I got back it was time for a shower and getting ready to head to Mezziniu sauna, so no time for nap! I contacted the soccer player and his cousin and said let's plan for tomorrow and Sunday, as it is going to be too tight a schedule to meet up today. I got to Mezziniu at 5:30 knowing that Thurs(and Mon. thru Weds. are not great there) and there were about 15 guys working. Among them was another German kid I had met there 3 years ago when he was 18…

Lucky arrived in Rio on Tuesday after a full day of traveling. I haven't heard from him since his initial email, promising a more detailed report. He was to spend three days in Rio before moving on to Porto Alegre. Hopefully all is going well for him and he is so busy with sauna boys that he just hasn't had time to report back to us..

found this pic of a saunaboy I met last year.. Not sure if he is still "working" at the saunas or not, but thought it would be a nice enticement to anyone considering a trip to Rio for the first time.

Brasil is on a different schedule than the US. Not exactly the direct opposite being on the other side of the Equator. So, for a bit, the time difference will be only 3 hours to the east coast, four for the central time zone, etc.

these are the twins that have worked on and off at Pointe the last several years, the video is not the best quality but you get a good idea of what they look like. the picture is one of them visiting the apt. http://www.xvideos.com/video1438552/brazilian_twins

Tilt-shift is where you shoot real life (usually time lapse to add to the effect) with an odd lens, makes it all look like miniature. This video seems especially good, those that've had the pleasure, what do you think?

This Tijucano is very, very happy. My idol, Paulo Barros, did it again. He lost last year to Beija-Flor who had the trifecta of Jesus, God and Roberto Carlos. Well, down here Roberto Carlos is considered a God. So really two gods and the son of one of them. Nobody could beat that combo. But this year, Unidos Da Tijuca returned to the top step. It was quite wonderful. He is genius. Enough said. Here on the TV, the results are covered live on a few stations. Big, big, big. Like A FLU-FLA football match. Lots of cheering. Salgueiro placed second.

While trying to figure out my vacation plans, I thought I would try some dates and see what old time favorite Atlantico Copacabana is asking these days. I looked at a 6 nite stay, starting on June 7, and departing on June 13. The rate was over $350 USD per night. I cannot imagine paying that much money for those rooms.

Wanted to go for the last year and finally made a short trip of 4 1/2 days. Since I don't speak Spanish and there is not a lot of information on the web, I decided to rely on Gayromeo which I use with great success in Thailand. I conversed with a number of boys in the regular section and the escort section and was encouraged that things would go smoothly even though I knew many of the boys were using google translate . Conversation always makes it better for me but I wasn't traveling to a strange country for conversation. Arrived in Bogota at 930pm and was through customs and in my Hotel by 1030pm. 15 minutes after that one of the boys I made a time with arrived. He lo…

Friday started off with the old-folks on Rio Branco in Centro. Got to keep those artificial hips moving and exercise those pacemakers just a bit I suppose. Then headed up to Santa Teresa on the Largo Dos Guimaraes for the very-fun Bloco Das Carmelitas. Subtitled: Barefoot and on Foot. It is a long story but a Carmelite nun escapes from her convent in Centro, feels barefoot and on foot and heads up to Sant aTeresa. She gets lost on the various ladeiras and only goes back down the hill on Quarta-Cinzas. or Ash Wednesday. Anyway, the bloc starts down the hill, makes a circuitous routing and then there is a token, symbolic trip at the end of the Carnaval to the Carmelite Hos…

The following summary is my first 10 hours in Rio yesterday. This trip started with a good omen, I got upgraded all the way from L.A. to Rio, so I was hoping that was a good sign of what this trip was going to be like! I used the same apartment rental service as the last trip but since I was going solo this trip, I only needed a one bedroom and they found me one on the same street as the last, just down a few blocks, great location and only about a block from the Metro(subway) station in Ipanema. They are very helpful and have a U.S. telephone line so speaking with them prior to the trip if very easy. I got to the apartment at noon and was met by the rental agen…

I just recieved this alert from the US Consulate as a registered US citizen. I have been getting anumber of updates concerning the troubles in Salvador. It is looking like troubles have spread. According to media reports, unions representing various groups of Rio de Janeiro state public safety employees, including the military police, the civil police and the fire fighters, are conducting a work stoppage beginning Friday, February 10. The scope and duration of the strike are not fully clear at this time, but Rio state government authorities are stating there are plans in effect to assure public order and provide essential police and emergency services. What has …

Gentlemen, a new, nice stay in Colombia! It is amazing how young men are into mature and older ones. I spent two weeks in Medellín and Cali, mostly in the first city. The Poblado Alejandria Hotel is quite nice, with good furnishing and service; not the Plaza Rosa hotel, very noisy and old (I asked the university to change the hotel, to the good one). I had no problems of recieving guests. I met a selection of the guys who wrote to me by Manhunt. I met also one or two through facebook. From 21 y.o. to 31 y.o. local guys, I had nice meetings almost everyday. With one exception (a very muscled guy, who models underwear) they were not call boys. I visited the sauna Club d…

I've been to Brazil a few times over the years, and I've always had a blast. Attached are some photos of guys who've helped me enjoy past visits. I think it's amazing that on every trip after that first one, there were always new faces working in the saunas. I was wondering, how do these guys start working in the saunas to begin with? I know their motivation is usually financial, but how do they know the saunas are there to work at? Is it through word of mouth? Do they read about it on the internet? Is the existence of these saunas "common knowledge" in Brazil? I once met a guy at Meio Mundo who literally turned 18 a couple of weeks before I met him. I've met guys from…

Wednesday night, after rush hour at about 8:30PM, the building on 13 de Maio, directly behind the Teatro Municipal collapsed. 20 some stories. It was being rehabbed. This evening on the news, copies of all the necessary permits were shown. There has been mass team coverage on the stations. Lots and lots of interviews. As the building collapsed, it also took out two others as well. 48 hours later, they are still searching the ruins with dogs for survivors and/or bodies. Quite sad. The news has had interviews with family members of some of the hospitalized survivors. There were some frightening filmed images of people fleeing as the dust advanced over them. Memories of 9…

The following was posted at the GTB website, courtesy of Trilingual.. Thought I would share it here as it will be of interest to many of our readers... trilingual ( Member, Comments: 1301) wrote: 04:50:54 PM on Fri, Jan. 20, 2012 Attention size queens: According to one of the free gay rags I picked up at 117, Pointe is launching a big money contest to find the best hung men in Brazil! Almost every guy featured in this video is or was a sauna boy in Rio. I have been with 6 of them although most of those encounters were 2-3 years ago. http://www.xvideos.com/video1629575/paraiso_and_quot_brazilian_gay_porn_and_quot_
