  1. Started by JuanP,

I need to do a final mileage run to keep status on American. I’m smitten with Argentinians, their accents, their look, and general attitude. But not a lot of info on here. Ultimately, I’m looking for a luxe week in Buenos Aires (or wherever Argentinians go for the holiday)? Recommendations from the forum? Should I hit up BA? Skiing? Punta del Este? Also considering Asia, if folks have opinions. I posted similar post in Asia forum.

  2. So here's another question. I've been reading the guidebooks, but what are folks favorite sights in or near Rio? What's a fun time, what's a yawn? I'm really looking for any good ideas, not just traditional tourist things. I'm currently booked for about 10 days in Rio. Should I consider jumping on a plane and going somewhere else for a day or two? (My round the world trip is all frequent flier miles, so am doing some side trips on my own in other places already).

  3. Previous posts: I felt that I wanted to share my third “newbie” trip to Brazil. This is my third visit in 9 months, and by this time I have found a winning formula for my Brazil trips that enabled me to eventually visit all the states in Brazil. My trips averaged about 10 days each, and I am thinking I will always want to visit either Rio or Sao Paulo in each of those trips, since these two are the major cities and have all the good saunas, but since I was interested in visiting all the states in Brazil eventually, I had to pair my trips to those cities with a city that was not in RJ or SP state. Since my trip 4 months ago was in Sao Paulo, with companion st…

From time to time we hear about people who talk about good old times , where Corujinha and Maxim’s were great meeting points full of GP’s. As we know, the places are still there, but GP’s are long gone . If we want to revive old days, we have to tell the GP’s in the saunas that we will be at Maxine’s in the afternoon, pre- sauna and at Corujinha in the evenings , post- sauna. I think the GP’s will come back . Don’t they go where the trade is?

What is going on with the traffic in Rio? Last year I only had good experiences with the taxis, getting straight to where I wanted in no time, this week has been a disaster, spending hours (in total) stuck in cars. Also drivers don’t seem to know how to avoid the jams, although I can see on my google maps that there are much better routes than the ones they are taking.

So many years in Brazil and these wolves have always eluded me. Any suggestions on to where to find and attract one?

  9. Started by endlessdream,

A Taiwanese friend of mine was refused at checkin at Rio airport for his Rio - Panama - Havana flight, on the ground that he was not vaccinated against yellow fever and malaria. I was very concerned because I will be flying from Barranquilla to Havana via Bogota in two weeks. I actually called Avianca. After speaking to three different agents and a lot of holding time, I was told that it was specific to passengers on flights originating from Brazil. Anyone heard anything like that? Thx!

there is a first time for everything i guess! after coming here for 17 years, we were robbed at gunpoint Thursday night! it all happened so fast you just react w/o thinking! Three of us(2 Brasilerios and me)were waiting for a uber to pick us up and it is a busy street a car came down the bled fast and then saw us and came to a Quick stop and the passenger jumped out, cute cleancut about 20, and had a revolver and said he wanted our phones and our wallets! My friends started to give them theirs, but i just blurted out NO! He then repeated it and I said no as i put my phone into my jeans pocket and stepped back 2 feet into the Apartment doorway and slammed the door shut! …

I just heard that a customer was murdered after going back to his place with 2 guys last Friday night...that's all I know so far.

Love my new GREGG HOMME swimsuit discovered this weekend, wearable as an undergarment. Two-sided 6-inch front pocket feature where my iPhone snuggles comfortably. Currency bills and cards insertable the other side. No rear-entry crotch opening, but you can't have everything.

I’m going to Guadalajara in 4 days and now I’m wondering if it’s safe with all the migrant caravan going through. I might just stay longer in Puerto Vallarta. Btw, where can I get yellow fever and malaria vaccine in puerto Vallarta or Guadalajara? Thx!

  15. Those who follow the news about Brazil may know that back in 2013, Cuba sent 11,420 doctors to Brazil. The arrangement was mainly humanitarian because Brazil did not have sufficient doctors available to treat its citizens. The arrangement brought money to Cuba. The agreement also called for Brazil to pay the Cuban government for the salaries of the doctors sent to live and work in Brazil. The doctors worked mainly in areas of Brazil that desperately needed physicians. There was no "get rich" scheme with Cuba or Brazil allowing the doctors to work in Brazil. The Cuban doctors had a pay arrangement with Cuba. That worked fine since inception unt…

Getting “ata” often in text messages. google translate doesn’t know it. Is it just “ah yeah”?

Quite interested at this city. I heard Riilax and Renacer Spa are good places to go as mentioned in other topics previously created here. But do these saunas have working boys like in Thermas Lagoa and Pointe 212 in Brazil? I'm not necessarily the fit and muscular type of guy so I'm not sure if this place is worth going to without working boys. I also read that the city has over 30 gay bars and night clubs. Which one do you recommend that is great for hooking up with escorts? Thanks in advance for all your recommendations!

I will be in Brazil from Dec 21-27 for 6 nights. Should I stay in Rio or stay in both Rio and Sao Paulo. I heard that during the Christmas time Sao Paulo is not as active as Rio, especially after 12/24. I was in Rio 3 years ago. 117 was closed on the Christmas day. The next day it was packed. I haven't purchased my flight yet. I need to decide which city to exit.

Hoping to help someone... Getting a Brazilian SIM card can be a pain in the ass, especially when reading discordant opinions and experiences in the internet and when you do not own a Brazilian CPF (tax code). Internet is very useful, especially in Brazil. Using your home country's number can be really expensive and sometimes data roaming is shitty. And sometimes some services do not work with non Brazilian numbers. So here's how to do: 1- Buy a Sim card ("chip"), you can do it like everywhere you can find a operator's logo. I bought one from Tim because it's good and for 15 reais per week u get 1.5GB of internet and 100 min of free phone calls to other ope…

  24. AS IS HEARD IN THE VIDEO, SOME BRAZILIANS ARE CONCERNED THAT THE BOLSONARO GOVERNMENT WILL ENCOURAGE ASSAULTING WOMEN, BLACKS AND GAYS - LISTENING TO BOLSONARO LEAVES NO DOUBT THAT HE IS A WHITE SUPREMACIST, IF HE MEANS THE WORDS HE REPEATED FOR MANY YEARS. HE ADMITS HE FAVORS A DICTATORSHIP. THE BRAZILIANS INTERVIEWED SAID THEY VOTED FOR BOLSONARO BECAUSE THE ARE TIRED OF THE ROBBERIES AND CRIME IN BRAZIL. WATCHING THE SHORT VIDEO IS EDUCATIONAL ABOUT BRAZIL, FOR THOSE WHO VISIT BRAZIL OFTEN OR EVEN OCCASIONALLY.

Listen to Jair Bolsonaro (the president elect of Brazil) laugh toward the end of the interview - he laughs about having a "straight pride parade" and would not invite gays - Then he goes into a bizarre laugh - He freely admits he does not like gays - How will this change Brazil, if at all. He has three sons. He said if he had a gay son, he would hope the son would be killed in an accident! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3ZBeX9uC8s
