splinter1949 reacted to firecat69 in Question from a soon-to-be newby
Interesting how jaded we have all become about money boys.  There is in fact free sex available and depends on your looks.. Babylon is not my cup of the but I have had friends in their 30's and good shape go there and have a blast all for free.

I have also had friends hook up in Siam Paragon with boys who had more money then they did (or at least their families did) hehe.  No money expected and in fact Thai's paid for most things. So it can happen. It's not going to happen to me because I am in my 60's and heavy so paid encounters are the easiest way to go.

I have even had friends in their 40's with style meet boys in the Major Malls and bring them home.  Maybe taxi fare was given but no more.

Sure it is much more likely to happen in Bangkok then Pattaya and there are no guarantees where as you know you can buy company at many different venues.

For the first timer I agree be prepared to pay but if you are somewhat good looking and dress well be aware of chances to meet non money boys.  It happens and if it does not then your wallet will get you anything you desire.

Maybe a little of all 3. Hehe

Met  bkkmfj2648  at Classic around 920pm.  Now it is Monday night and I have never seen the roads around my Hotel deader and all the way to SoiTwilight was dead also .  I arrived around 855 pm so stopped at Dick's for a drink first . Almost nobody there.

Not a Good Omen for Classic.   Classic had maybe 6 customer and 14 boys but the quality IMHO was really good. Definitely twinkish and good faces .  Probably 6 I would consider offable and that is a lot for me especially in a bar that has constantly disappointed me.

I focused on 1 boy right away and knew this might be the first boy I have offed from Soi Twilight in a very long time.  The customers were definitely not  lookers but were constantly offing boys while I was there.  I would guess 6 boys were offed in the first 20 minutes I was there.  Luckily the boy focused on was not offed yet and I called him over for a drink.

I knew from the moment I saw him that I was going to off him which of course means I didn't ask him anything about what he liked or was willing to do.

Depending on how you look at it that was a mistake.  He spoke no English and I am pretty sure he is real straight , but I didn't care eventhough I knew right away I was not going to get what I wanted.

His personality shone through even with out English skills and if I was living in BKK, I would make him my project to teach him how to have fun as a Gay Boy.

I may never have got less and enjoyed it more.  It also turns out he is photgenic which amazingly is hard to find. I love the photos he willingly let me take.

That was the only Bar I stopped at but bkkmfj2648 was on his way to Boys Bangkok so we should have a report from him.

Like most Bars in Thailand, it does depend on the night but Classic may be worth your time especially if you like handsome twinks.

Arrived 3 days ago after BC flights from Seattle and of course one of the last 3 months of flights UA will make to Bangkok.

Anyways there was no line at Customs since I had Fast Trak Pass but there were no lines anywhere else. This was quite surprising since this should be High Season.

Luggage was out quick and my Car was waiting for the trip to Pattaya. 90 minutes later I was in my apartment at View Talay 6 which is next door to Central Festival(biggest Mall in Pattaya.

Since I will be here for 2 months , I had decided to relax and start slowly this trip.

I have seen 2 of my regulars and a couple of new boys from GayRomeo.

I have been gone 7 weeks  and find at least 50 new boys on Gayromeo in a very narrow search of 18-24 years.  Not to mention I hardly recognize anyone on Jack'd.  Two boys I have contacted on Jack'd but not seen yet say they are Coyote Boys at late night clubs and they have never worked bars or been on GayRomeo. So many ways to find boys especially if you are here for an extended period.

Tonight I wanted to go to Towel Night at Vassa Bar.  This Bar is what is known as a 1Shop. Very small Bar that many people fail to enter. That is a mistake.

I got there very early at about 815pm.  There were at least 16 boys squeezed into the Bar and it was evident a party was going to take place at some time with a Buffet of Food and Balloons all over.

I have mentioned before I am first a Face person and everything flows from there.  This Bar has not disappointed me the last 6 months and tonight was just incredible.  They are certainly mostly Twinks and I would guess Gay but there a couple of Bigger Gay Boys that might satisfy Vinapu.

Shortly after I got my drink a young good looking Blonde Farang arrived and it became evident the party was for him.  Soon it became a Private Party and I excused myself but not before buying a drink for a new Boy with a Face to die for and letting him know I would be back after Xmas to know him better.

Took the short walk to Boystown and sat down at Serene which is an outdoor Beer Bar where you can watch what goes on.

Pattaya definitely has the Xmas Spirit and decorations and trees are everywhere . If you dropped in from Space you would definitely think this is a Christian Country at Xmas time.

Next stop was Toy Boys. Nothing changed there 30-40 boys and lots of customers.  Maybe the quality looked a little less then in October but maybe just me.

Crossed the street to FunnyBoys and you can always count on a nice selection and this time there were a lot of new faces for me. It also appears the rotation has speeded up which has always been a complaint by some.

Short walk to Boyz Boyz Boyz.   Many boys and customers starting to fill the place for the 1030pm show.  Much more rounded line up then before and definitely some muscle. I have no interest in the show so that ended my night.

I have included a few photos of Beach Road, BoyzTown and some boys who have been in my room.  Sorry the photos are not more interesting.

Since I am here for 2 months, this thread will not be updated as often as Back in Thailand was but I hope that many of the posters here who I know will be here over the next few weeks will add some fun comments and especially some photos.

We have some members here who are far more familiar with the late night clubs and hopefully they will give us some of their wisdom.

Speaking about stupid questions by US border service. In beginning of July I was entering USA to attend my friend funeral, barrage of questions included : ' you are renting or living in your own home' and  ' whom you are living with at home".

Compare it to landing in any European country where usually question is 'how are you"

In Soviet times I was in USSR four times, none of entry subjected my to even remotely similar investigation.

I wonder if Americans realize how  much their cherished freedoms are curbed in recent years and how brainwashed they become if they think this is right?

I was sitting in one of the Bangkok bars more than a decade ago chatting with a boy I knew from prior trips.  I have no clue (memory) as to what led up to it but out of the blue he asked me if I would buy him a car.  I just looked at him a bit deadpan and said: "Sure, what color?"  For a moment, he had a look on his face that I'd describe as somewhere between puzzlement and a "hell, I struck it rich!" expression.  Before he had a chance to inquire further, I turned and asked:  "Would you buy me an airplane?"  The resulting facial expression can be accurately described as somewhere between a "HUH?!?" and a "What the fuck?!?" but a few seconds later he grinned widely and said: "What color?"  I'm glad he had a sense of humor.

I don't remember if I offed him that night but I'm sure I at least bought him a drink.

Sorry to disapoint you. The last two weeks, the weather has been perfect, the beach welcoming, but there are very few boys in the afternoon.
On the other hand Jomtien complex has a new life, a couple of new bars and restaurants, and plenty of activity and many boys till 1 or 2 am.

I think optics of resident / frequent visitor and casual tourists are completely different on the show issue.

I tested this on myself during my last trip.
Attended Dreamboy, BKK show on the first evening and found it interesting and entertaining.

Two week later on my second last night repeated visit after seeing shows in all other bars not to mention all offs and massages.
While show was only little modified  I did not have a fraction of original  fun, lasted only because my boy of the night liked it.
I guess boredom reared it's ugly head.

Now , 3 weeks later I see I'd gladly go and enjoy show once again.

So my advice to readers of this forum and opinions  we are dispensing - read and digest it carefully but at end of day go and check for yourself as boy I found handsome you may see as ugly, show one  found boring you may see as funny and massage
somebody enjoyed you may find painful and  delivered in the ugly setting.

And nobody is lying , it just matter of optics influenced by the boredom or enthusiasm, company we are with at the moment or memories of the last night .

Spent 2 nights there in November, glad I did. Room quiet , no bar noises at all, safe in the room working perfect. Room not big but well appointed.

Only thing I did not like was partition like sliding door to the washroom - not much privacy if you have company and need to take a dump,  sorry for being brutal, fortunately it was not my problem neither my guests.

Friendly staff. Good food in restaurant with view on all soi's goings. Will be happy to return as hotel is in the middle of Boyztown action and good value at 1100 +7.5% tax per night. Breakfast not included , I was breakfasting in Boat Bakery just across 2nd Road, steps from hotel.

Those my general impressions from my recent trip to Bangkok and Pattaya in November 2013 .
If you are interested in my day to day  goings please refer to my ‘ Off to Thailand ‘ thread.
I will post bar and massage impressions under separate thread.

    FLIGHT
I flew with Korean Air and liked seat pitch, service , food and Incheon  / Seoul / airport I was connecting through. If you have longer  layover you are entitled to a free trip to quite a few places in vicinity of airport. Trips are well advertised and friendly hostesses may actually offer one before you notice board.
For both meals during flights we had 3 choices , for some Asian dishes they actually provided  printed instruction how to go about preparing that dish –impressive.

    BANGKOK TRANSPORT
Trains from and to airport are running 6-24 so you need taxi only if you are flying at night and early in the morning. There are 2 trains, hourly non-stop expresses to Makkasan and Phaya Thai stations, departing  5 minutes apart. It costs 90 baht and takes 19 minutes. At Makkasan  you can connect to MRT / underground / , at Phaya Thai  you can connect to BTS / overhead train/ .
If you missed one of express trains you have regular City Link trains departing every 15 minutes and stopping 6 times before they reach terminal at Phaya Thai after about 40 minutes. It costs 35 baht.
For BTS and MRT you need to purchase tickets in the machines , is you do not have a change there are change counters at every stations and there’s no problem getting change even on 1000 baht note.
In fact I used them daily before hitting bars in order to get supply of smaller notes and coins. This way  eliminates need for a change and possibility of extorting tips or shortchanging you. You tip exactly what you want if you have enough change.
Ticket for each mode of transport must be purchased separately so when you transfer for BTS to MRT etc.  you need to buy new ticket.
Taxis used sporadically and likely had a bad luck because on 3 occasions drivers did not want to use meters, fuck you said I and went to look for another one which is easy even in deep night.
In  my previous 8 trips I had 1 or may be 2 cases of refusing meter so wonder if drivers got greedy or I had bad luck this time.

    HOTELS
To astonishment of many including my boys I change hotels every  2 nights , I just like change I guess.
Used BBB Inn, Tarntawan, Om Yim, Le café Royale in Pattaya, Malaysia, BBB Inn again and Pavilion Place.
Here are my likes and don’t likes:

BBB Inn – like location right behind soi Twilight with all the bars, room size and layout and availability of in –house massage boys 7/24,free  computers internet in the lobby, don’t like lack of food facilities – for breakfast went to Foodland in Patpong, 6 minutes away, American breakfast there 59 before 9 , 69 after, very good deal. There are no elevators at BBB Inn which I don’t mind but some may ( Happy Thansgiving to you American elevator/ escalator  lovers).  Massage boys at BBB may be kind of intimidating for some as you may feel guilty of having boy from outside in tow while they are unemployed at the moment . At end of day BBB is my home away from home in BKK anyways. Room 1320 /night. Safe in the room not working , use one on reception.

Tarntawan, much more classy place and more expensive of course which I found fair  , got deal  for 1800 but prepaid in June for Nov. Breakfast for 2 included , both boys were treated the same like me and actually addressed before me by the waiters which I liked. As I’m not fan of spending money on luxurious accommodation would not go higher in BKK and found hotel very comfortable. Guy at the elevator acts as KGB and keeps your visitors ID till they leave which is good. No, I  did not use elevator there even once . You will get your own business cards with your name ‘ in residence”, safe in my room did not work , used one at reception, no problem at all. Free computers in the lobby.  Tawan bar around the corner literally.

Om Yim, at 1100/ night very good value for money , right at Chong Nonsi BTS, has own restaurant, good and inexpensive food, breakfast 80-90, safe in the room worked perfectly. Room small but well appointed, no elevator  (Happy …….etc. as above),  Arena massage around the corner. I found it clean and not noisy even if facing BTS tracks and busy street. Recommended for everybody excluding elevator lovers.  Will stay in future for sure even if had bad luck with my offs on both nights.

Le Café Royale in Boyztown , Pattaya.  Smack right in the middle of the action with 10 or so bars within 100 seconds walk. And of course whole soi sees who you are bringing back to your hotel. Console yourself with feeling that your boy is much more handsome than theirs and has bigger dick too.
Breakfast not included but they have restaurant downstairs, sitting there you can spy on whole Boyztown, had breakfasts in the Boat restaurant 40 seconds away on other side of 2nd Road for less then 100. Good food there throughout the day too. Safe in the room working perfect, only thing I did not like was lack of door to the washroom with kind of partition instead, kind of lack of privacy if one wants to take a dump , sorry my language. I was on 2nd floor and room was quiet, facing back, not soi. They have elevator for you and your suitcase.

Malaysia Hotel, great positive surprise. At 840 / night I did not expect anything while I got big clean room with 2 beds, single and double. Staff extremely nice, no safe in the room, used one on reception.
Breakfast not included but can be had in the coffee shop in the lobby, Internet 40baht / hour with several computers available. No idea where famous moneyboys disappeared, did not see even one which was big disappointment as when my boy left at 3 a.m. as agreed went downstairs looking for consolation and found note, the same on street in front. Consoled myself with ice cream and 2 hours spent at computer updating my posts on this board. Few massage shops and good restaurants around.
Not a walking  distance to Silom, used taxi 50-60 baht or walk to Lumpini MRT and it’s onestop for 16 baht to Silom or two for 18 baht to San Yan for soi Twilight. Malaysia is the best value for money
accommodation wise  I found in a long time. And has an elevator as a bonus to you know who you are.

Pavilion Place , right in Patpong above ScrewBoys bar. Can’t beat location for Patpong, at 1000 / night reasonable value for money, nothing fancy, room quiet, did not hear bar noises at all, breakfast again at Foodland. I’d say adequate, no problem with straight guests when bringing back boy, actually I expected hotel to be much raunchier but found it quiet other than rather noisy A/C unit.

    MEALS
I’m not great in this subject, dined usually at Maxi’s or Dick’s in soi Twilight, enjoyed food in both places and liked entertainment value watching comings and goings in the soi.  I’m not adventurous with food  anywhere and survived 60 plus countries without Montezuma’s revenge so this is not my subject

    TIPS
We are talking regular tips, not ones owed to the boys. In restaurants if bill is 300 or less I tip 20, if 301-600, I tip 40, above 601 -60. In bars, 20 for each serving regardless on invoice. Mamasans are getting 50 if used their services for  selection/ translation, two from Dreamboys got 100 each but they went extra mile looking for boy I wanted unfortunately so deserved it. If no services provided and They are still looking for  a tip I’m offering 1 baht coin, ample supply I ensure in my pocked, this is how I got rid of unwanted advances of mamasans at Classic boys and one of X’s. They got a message fast.
In massage places , the same. In Arena tipped 100 on 2 occasions when they let me to take boy off for long time without off fee. In both occasions I had massage at venue in the same day but still consider them very generous as they knew I’d pay and still did not charge me.

    MONEY
Airport exchange rate uniform with exception of last counter right where train platform starts on your right when coming . City rate varied  between 31.55 and 31.12. Before  you spent half day looking for a best rate consider that this difference means 43 baht more or less on the 100 USD, can of beer costs 38.
Depending of how much you are exchanging you make your own mind if you want to hunt or not for a rate. If you are staying in Patpong during my 2 weeks consistently best rate had jeweler beside Family Mart on Suriwong, on your right when leaving a soi Twilight . There’s another on in soi Thaniya with similar rates.  She had minimally better rate on euros and CAD than him, not USD.
In case you need to break bigger notes head my advice above and go to BTS station change counter.
I found exact change always convenient as nobody can shortchange you on change. At X-size they tried anyways.
I don’ use wallet, have 2 pocket shirts and 4 pockets trouser sand distribute money  between them.
Shirt 2*1000 in one pocket, 1000+500 in another. Trouser back 500 note each, front left all 20 and 50 I have plus coins, front right 7*100. This way I can control spending and none of pockets  is bulky.
Never  had anything stolen in Thailand but better to be safe than sorry .

Wednesday back on BKK, went  to Malaysia Hotel for a change. What a great value for money !!!, Clean , spacious room, refrigetator, tv all that for 900 baht. Very friendly staff treating weorking boys the same like all guest, at breakfast actually mine was caddressed before me, I liked it. After decamping planned to find one of those City Court massage places but did npt go far as spied nicely built lad at frony og Magic Hands on Soi Ngham Duplee. Could not resist. A little effeminate behaviour but rest 100% man. What a great 2 hour session with massage on the table and the rest on the floor!!!

Great guy through and through, brown silky skinned  guy named Kao. In massage department I liked his long strokes, he run whole length from heel to neck, strong hands and well appointed everywhere else.  Great massage and great fun. Both Magic hands and Lomchoey  massage on the same street seem to be underrated and underutilized.

After so many disasters 4 noghts in row time to find consolation with time  tested Namu from Bangkok Massage. Went to soi, made sure he will be available / infamous # 31 is his "fren" but so does great # 76 Yo /, arranged for going to see show at Hotmale  and told him that I will wait if he will have a client, Rest of evening strolling through Patpong and trying fish massage on Suriwong.

Past 10 back to soi , went for a show alone as my boy had  client.

I liked show and selection at Hotmale, usual  tips distributed among fuck show  & cock show participants as well boy who kept me company and another one I liked on the stage. 50 baht taxi hop to hotel and finally great bed sharer. There's no friend like old one and I got him just from rotation back in May, probably would not pick him up if asked and what a miss it would be.

Breakfast together, as mentioned staff addressed him  first. Not many farangs with boys , just a few and only one actually inspecting  their company indiscreetely at breakfast time. This asshole was me. Done deliberately though to raose their self esteem .
    And so Thursday started.

Woke up at 7am after dreaming about boy (hehe).   Looked on Gayromeo and he was there.  Had not left for Bangkok yet and I don't leave until 10am.

Asked if he wanted to repeat and 30 minutes later , he was in my room and Round 2 was just as good as Round 1 and that is saying something.  This time he let me take a few photos.  He may not be the best looking boy I have ever been with but he is best at being a BF experience on the first encounter.

Unfortunately last night I had another attack of whatever and thought better then going out.  I still have 2 nights left and am dying for a return to Vassa.

Now anyone who reads my posts, certainly knows that I favor GayRomeo over the Bars and even have found Grind and Jackd useful this trip.

I always stop at FunnyBoys and ToyBoys and a few other stops but most of my assignations are not from the Bars.

However my recent visit to Vassa has definitely piqued my interest.  There were at least 6 boys there that I would happily off.

Now these are GayBoys, some more Fem then others but definitely not LadyBoys.  They are on the younger side but that is ok with me as long as they have ID proving they are 18.

Just let me say there are some boys there who would fit very well in the photo shoot thread, they are that good looking.

Now things change and who knows what next month will bring but other posters here seem to think they have been fairly consistent recently.

This is a tiny Bar that many of you would never bother with.  If the type of boy I described is appealing to you then make plans to visit this bar.  I think you may well enjoy it.

So today I decided to go to one of my favorite places in Bangkok, Cutey and Beauty.

They are a hair salon which does pedicures and manicures, facials, foot massages etc.  They cater to a large Gay Client base and have a pretty stable work force that has been there many years.

Today they had a new boy , Tom, very cute and I needed a pedicure badly.  Unlike many places you can get a pedicure Cutey and Beauty has the right kind high quality clippers etc for gnarly nails like mine and they take their time and do a good job.

The boys are nice to look at , the music low and you will be offered tea, coffee or water.

I was there at opening of 10 am so only 2 boys were there and I got a photo of them attached.

Easy to find it is on Thanyia in Thanyia Plaza on the 3rf floor. This is in between  Silom and Surawong but closer to Silom.

If you take Skytrain to Saladaeng, you will be 2 minutes away.

PS:   Boy on left is much cuter then photo.  In the past it has been impossible to contact any of the boys outside of work because owner frowned on it. Not sure if it is the same owner now , but if so ,he has not been there the last 3 visits so I might have to take swing at Tom..  heheheh

He lives by Victory Monument so he arrived at my Hotel in about and hour with some help from one of the door men at the Hotel.

Day 1: Bangkok to Siem Reap

The boys and I decided to go visit Cambodia and Angkor Wat for a few days. And, since my family has been giving me a hard time for staying in the same places and same hotels, I decided this trip would be more of an adventure than a 5 star holiday. I won't skimp on some good things but we will try to make it to Cambodia the cheapest way possible and stay in Siem Reap at an inexpensive hotel.

First, we did not make any reservations for transportation. We did make hotel reservations as I would not be able to make the journey without having security of knowing I had a place to stay. So, I went to Expedia. I found a great deal for 3 nights in Siem Reap at the Angkor Miracle Resort & Spa. They were having a sale at Expedia and we took advantage of it and booked our room for 45 USD per night for a pool view. There were cheaper hotels but I heard this one had good Internet and it got good reviews on Trip Advisor, so I booked it.

While we were in Bangkok, we decided that we wanted a true adventure and so we chose to take the train to Cambodia. It was a hard decision for me as they had only one and it was not air conditioned and it was very rustic but we decided together this would be fun. The boys told me there was not enough room for my luggage so I packed only ONE backpack. When I got on the train, I saw I had been fooled as there was plenty of overhead space! (but, it would have been a real pain in the butt if I had taken 5 bags to cross the border. less is better on this trip)

We woke up at 4:30 AM and got showered and left at 5:00 AM. We took a taxi to the train station. The taxi cost 60 baht or about 2USD. The train station only took us about 10 minutes that time of the morning. The train station was Bangkok's main Hualamphong station and the morning train left at 05:55 every day and arriving Aranyaprathet 11:35 (so they say, we were about 30 min late).

Once you get there, you walk over to the place that sells the tickets. This area has many windows and if you ask, you will be directed to the right one. We all approached and gave our ID's and I was told 48 baht (1.50 USD). That was the price of my ticket but the boys were free as they are Thai and only had to show ID card for the free ticket.

We got our tickets and made way to the track that we were told to wait at (also on the tickets). The boys told me: "be careful of your pockets" and I said OK. I do remember one boy I met in Pattaya had lived at this train station from the time he was 8 until he was 15 and moved to Pattaya and he said he lived with a group of kids and they all mugged people and picked their pockets. Since I know of this, I was careful.

The train is 3rd class only and there is no air conditioner. They do have bathrooms in all the cars but it is VERY basic. The seats are comfortable and you sit 2 to each seat. The boys and I took the spots we wanted and were happy with them. But, the window was broken and so we quickly moved one seat over. That was a good move as a few people sat there on the 6 hour journey and the window came crashing down on them.

We met a nice couple from England and had a nice chat with them.

The train stopped at every little village and town we passed by. Sometimes, there was not even a station in the town but there was just a little dirt near the tracks where people were waiting.

We were offered food and drinks on board by the vendors that get on the train and walk up and down the entire time. We got some water which was 10 baht.

We did not eat on the train but many people did.

There was a wide variety of people on this train and we met everything from businessmen to students to GoGo boys. There was also a great deal of tourist and backpackers on board. It was a very eclectic mix.

The seat broke on me. Sad story. But, yes, my girth killed it (or at least flattened it). The boys laughed but I was very embarrassed. It wasn't destroyed but it just moved down a bit. But, it was as loud as the thunder you hear in the midst of a store! I stayed where I was at for a bit but then I moved over to a single seat. It was much better for me. There were periods of time when the train was over full and times when it was sparse with customers. So, when one seat emptied out, I took possession and was very happy the rest of the trip.

The train is comfortable and the people working it were all very kind to me and stopped and chatted with us.

We got off at Aranyaprathet a bit after 12 and there were Tuk Tuk's waiting for us. They were waiting directly outside the train and as we were getting off, they were all yelling for us to choose them. I chose one once we got off and he said it was 100 baht to the border. I said fine and off we went. It was about 3 miles to the border.

The Tuk Tuk driver tried to take us to the wrong place so he could earn some more money. They do this often. But, I knew this was not the "Official" place and I told him No. No. He finally took us to the right place to enter the line to exit Thailand. They tried to take every other group of foreigners to the same place. LOL When the group saw me raising my voice and directing him to turn around and go to the right place, the English couple did the same thing and 3 others followed. They didn't know what to expect at the border but they said they were glad they saw me leaving.

You must leave Thailand and get your passport stamped. I did that and as soon as you leave that area, you are approached by 100 people trying to get you to get their "official" Cambodian Visa. I didn't listen and just looked directly across the street to the real visa office and went there. My little group all followed. The boys did not have to do this as they had to get in another line to get their 15 day Free Visa.

The visa to Cambodia is 20 USD. It takes a bit to fill out the paperwork and then give them a photo and your passport and they will give you the visa. It took only about 10 minutes total. After I left there, I saw the Casino I like and I headed straight there as we all wanted to eat and use the restroom before the next journey. We also may have wanted to play a bit of blackjack.

After the casino, we had to get the stamp to enter Cambodia. This one took a bit longer as now the process you and take fingerprints of EVERY finger. This did not happen last time I went to Cambodia but it did this time. The process made the wait longer. It took me about 1 hour to get this done.

The boys were waiting outside for me as they didn't have to deal with all this bS.

Once outside, again everyone wanted us to follow them to either a taxi or a bus. We were tired and decided a taxi. I got the driver to agree to 1000 baht to take us to the hotel in Siem Reap. It took a bit over 2 hours.

The hotel is very nice. The pool is beautiful. The Internet works great. The rooms are very comfortable. We had dinner here and that was also very tasty. The boys forgot to bring swimsuits so they took a Tuk Tuk to the night market to buy something to swim in tomorrow.

The entire journey took us 12 hours. It was a very long day but I was able to see the Thai countryside and it was beautiful. Rice fields, water buffalo, amazing birds, green wherever we looked and the amazing Thai smiles.

It was defiantly a trip I will remember. We will be in Siem Reap for 3 nights and are very excited for our tour guide tomorrow to see the ruins!

    Lumphini Park

Lumphini Park is a park in the middle of the massive city of Bangkok. It is located right in the business area and is over 140 acres of land.

BTS Skytrain Silom Line Sala Daeng Station is nearby.

MRT (Bangkok) Lumphini Station and Si Lom Station are nearby.

It is also easy to take a taxi there as every taxi will be able to find the park. I would call it Bangkok's Central Park.

There is a great deal to do inside the oasis from the city.

You can ride bikes and train here. They have marked road signs that show you how far you bike and many take advantage of the great trails through this beautiful park.

You can work out at the outdoor gym. They also have a swim place there and another gym but I love watching the outdoor gym. It reminds me a bit of Muscle Beach at times.

You can take a ride on the paddle boats. There are different kinds to choose from.

You will see many different kinds of animals in the park. An abundance of birds, reptiles and other critters are always out and about.

You will see a variety of beautiful flowers and scenery.

Some people just relax. You will see many bring a mat and tap a lunch nap or just sit and read a book. The park is very relaxing.

Some people are there to play. I love playing chess in Washington Square Park and there is a group of guys that place chess here every day.

Some people are there to just enjoy life. After all, you are in one of the greatest cities on earth. How could not enjoy enjoy it?
