Amen to that Brother ! I'm currently in "fight" mode with my questionable better second half Asian BF right now ( something to do with his BF deciding to fuck off to Thailand and Bali fucking for month I believe but that took about about two weeks to get to that WAS the actual cause of our ongoing fight of course with a mountain of drama being thrown in along the way just to ensure I couldn't actually work out what was wrong and have an adult conversation about that - god forbid eh !
 
But yes it cracks me up when smug bastards / friends here in my Country all think they know it all when if you mention to them some minor tiff you might have had over breakfast over him forgetting to put the milk back in the fridge or some nonsense they look at you in a "well, are you surprised, I mean what do you expect when you're with one of those Asian guys and I'm right in saying he is younger than you....isn't he ?   
 
As if they have some god given right either to comment at all or that they know SO much more than you and that their relationship with their wife / girlfriend / boyfriend is better and is of course a REAL one, whereas the guy you're with well "hell, sure it's only one of those Asian guys you're with", absolutely does my head in, like THEY don't fight with their partner ever ??
 
The fact that he works 12 hours shifts in our local hospital, doesn't matter as there's always that knowing look as if to say " oh don't worry of course we all know he's just your money boy / here for a passport / insert any other racial slur" - of which none are true of course as he's already a British permanent right to reside long before he met me and works his ass off to provide for himself and doesn't get and more importantly would be horrified at the thought of taking a dime from me ever.  But hey never let the facts get in the way of a good old racist character assassination of someone just because they fit your negative stereotypes eh !!  Grrr ok rant over !  lol
 
And anyway I still just think that deep down they're just jealous as when they fight with their fat ugly wives and it's all over they still end up with just a fat ugly wive who's just that little bit more pissed off with them for the next week, whereas when we fight I've always the great make up sex to look forward to so fuck them I win !  lol

Day 6
 
Started with me acting ATM big time dispensing baht like no tomorrow, tip for him for night company , 1000 baht for helmets – discussed a bit earlier in the thread and 2000 for off fee for 5 days. I was actually expecting 2500 since off fee at BBB is 500 unless one buys drink , then is reduced to 400 but boy told me 2000 so I gave him that  to pay bar. Possibly he pocketed money working it somehow with bar but not my business and it worked for me .
 
We had breakfast at Ambiance across the soi for a change, then boy left and I was waiting for van to show up and take me to NongNooch tropical gardens.
 
I’m not big fan of nature and greenery but was enticed by Christian comments somewhere about them being world class attraction  so decided to give it a try and right away I need to say that I agree with that assessment. Gardens are covering quite a big are , can be explored on foot on ground or from above using elevated walkways all over the place,  there’s also kind of open sided tramway driving around with stops in few places / 100 baht / and ultimate – tour can be made using royal transport i.e on top of elephant / 400 baht /.
 
I thought 700 baht cost for half day trip is kind of expensive but in fact it’s very good value – admission cost is 500 so 200 for round trip transport from and to hotel it fair as long as I’m concerned since gardens are quite a distance from the city. Even with all that greenery there’s not much shade so it’s better to take morning trip instead of afternoon ones also offered.
Lots of food and drink available and one can easily spend whole day there.
 
Took my photo with tiger on the short chain / 100 baht / , took elephant ride as well as tramway tour where I was big attraction since all other passengers were locals and whenever I heard “farang” I knew it’s about me. Always kind walker I also explored elevated walkways and must say after 4 hours I was happy I took that trip.   
 
Around  2 p.m.  I was dropped in front of ABomb and few minutes later my boy appeared with two helmets, crappy for 200 for me and classy one for 800 for him, he expects it to last at least 4 years by his words so chances are I may come and check. No idea what helmets costs and to what degree he milked me but I assume it’s not that much, at home probably just strap would cost me 1000 baht so no complains.
 
Sanctuary of Truth is not that far and I liked it , beautiful carvings in equally impressive setting on the edge of the sea. Admission again quite steep at 500 , grounds are quite extensive including restaurant where we had a lunch , boy had some seafood and me , you guessed rightly , chicken with cashew nuts.
 
I told boy I will pick him up from the bar after show, he went to his room and I had some rest after such a busy touristy  day and early in the evening I walked  over to Sunee Plaza with only one bar in mind – Good Boys I missed in Dec, one I was advised had different type of boys that rest of Sunee and I may like them.
 
Stories proven true, several boys on duty, no twink in sight.    Drink 150 followed with invitation to sit behind partition where shortly after I was joined by member of staff who offered to present his jewels and cum for me for consideration of 300 baht. I even volunteered a drink and having fun in the bar invited two others, one by one,   for the same treatment . All three boys by their own admission are 100 % straight and into girls but obviously into drink and 300 baht as well. 
 
Certainly  something different   than in other bars and while I prefer this type of entertainment in my room , not open space,  I had a fun.
There was another patron entertained the same way and he looked  like local , certainly spoke Thai as was conversing with his boy during whole process.
 
Back in Boyztown for already established routine, beer and adoration at Oscars, BBB boys singing and flag waving then cross to BBB, my boy was not there so I sit with another one for fun and was rewarded with feel of his  quite impressive endowment he was proud to present claiming he is not shy at all.
 
Busy surveying what was on offer I did not even notice my boy arrived and was quietly observing the scene from behind instead of joining us. We watched show together, after that some repeated  fooling with the same boy, tipped one of boys on stage I like but under eye of my boy I needed to behave so we went back to Café Royale for    world peace discussion 4th night in row  finishing day 6 of my trip.

Of course if was XBoys, not XSize / which is in BKK, not PTY/, my apologies but I was typing report past midnight so excuse me.
 
I think writing as I'm still there makes for better reading. I remember plenty, hey whisky or even better , gin , helps as long as is taken straight, I don't use any diluters or mixers as they are called.
 
On serious side at least twice daily I was updating my notes in form of draft e-mail to myself , you are right that after return all seems like a blur. Fact that I change hotels often actually helps to localize  goings in the past and to place them in proper day as well.
 
Yes I like Magnolia and even like long stroll to or /and from  there, I'm big on walking and it takes me 20-25 minutes from BT to get there. Massages are great and so is decor but as for boys I have mixed emotions, so will continue to patronize them  in future , God willing,  most likely with expectation of great massage and not much more.
 
Not that they are not willing for extras, opposite, too willing and too fast to get to 2nd stage for my taste, I walk fast but lay   slow so to speak.
 
For me PTY is Boyztown, I can envision me camping there for a week crossing street only for Boat Bakery and internet cafe on South Pattaya Road. Did not venture to Dongtan at all this trip but went to Sunee, watch this space for more.
 
It were at least dozen if not more boys at Kawaii  / biguyby correct me if I'm wrong / , with exception of smiles none for me which means many readers here would be happy there, twinky cherubs are not my territory, their older brothers are.

day 4
 
since I was alone had a good uninterrupted sleep til 9.30, rarity for me, I don't sleep much and even less on vacations.
 
Breakfast at Boat bakery, noticed good exchange rate at 33.72 and took advantage by changing wad of USD to even bigger wad of THB.
 
Pleasant weather almost December like today, good for strolling so wandered quite a bit, spent hour or so at Tukcom and couldn't resist detour to Royal House massage beside, usual 1.5 hr massage by quite hunky and well endowed guy.
 
Then Sunee Plaza stroll, still deserted early afternoon but at least localized Good Boys , bar I missed in Dec and recommended by some as only one in Sunee with bigger and more manly boys than usual that plaza's fare. 
 
early in the evening decided to take another massage,  this time at Scandic, picked up older looking guy named Jom and it was very good move. Very energetic massage using not only his forearms and elbows but also his butt -first time I had this treatment and liked it. well deserved 1500 tip even if there were no hanky-panky just massage by naked guy.
 
In the evening I parked myself  at Oscar's  to watch BBB boys singing at 9 p.m. at the same time subjecting myself to  repeated adoration by their waiter mentioned before. He already spied me going with my boy from BBB last night and noticed he doesn't have a chance because I like big  boys and he is small framed.
 
Later on I learned things are getting even more serious because he lied to  him that I offed him short time during day and paid him 2000. Unwillingly I became object of love intrigue but decided just to shrug it off, at my age it's quite nice to be object of such an adoration I guess.
 
Went to BBB to pick up my boy again but he did not arrive yet so had one of their boys sitting with me for a while, not an unpleasant way of spending time. After the show I took my man home , tonight for long time. He already secured that I will take him for all 3 nights I'm in PTY and it looks that we are both winners. He secured income stream and I access to his adorable biceps and 6 pack not to mention kind of fun.
 
He returned to an idea of going with me to BKK for a few days repeating that I can have other boys because he is interested in seeing Silom and other BKK charms and can sleep on the floor when his place beside me will be occupied by successful rival.
 
Yesterday I thought this idea stupid but tonight decided to give boyfriend experience a try to see what happens. Kept him guessing for now, asked if he wants to go with me to Nom Nooch tropical gardens tomorrow but he was not interested in, offering to take me by his motorbike to Sanctuary of Truth, fine.
 
Great time together tonight, no wonder I start loosing my sense by agreeing to this ' boyfriend ' experiment. and day 4 was over

day 3
 
I decided to take Victory Monument van to PTY as last time I was on my way in few minutes. Unfortunately not this time. Even if they depart every 15 minutes after 1 hour of waiting I realized that it will be another hour before my number will come up so tossed ticket, hopped on BTS to Ekkamai and took van from there, 130 baht and was on my way in 10 minutes.
 
Ekkamai van terminates at  Bus Station, 80 baht motorsai and I was in La Cafe Royale, standard room at 900 +7.5% tax . this was my 3 rd sty in this hotel and don't see any need to look for anything else. Right in the middle of Boyztown and still fairly quiet.
 
First thing I noticed when going around was exchange rate slightly better than in BKK  (33.72).  Went to soi 1 to see if Beer is still working in Narcissus massage, he was on vacations home so I took another boy for 1.5 hr of hot and steamy massage.
After that dinner at Casa Fellini, very pleasant Italian restaurant in soi 2 I dined with firecat at in Dec last year.
 
In the evening I parked myself at Serene bar waiting for BoyzBoyzBoyz boys to come up at 9 and start their singing and clapping but for some reason it did not happen that night. I noticed that waiter from Oscar beside shows interest in me and my mustache but unfortunately he is not my type being small framed skinny man at 25 y.o .
 
But tipped him 100 baht for his trouble and crossed soi to see the show at BoyzBoyzBoyz but mainly to reunite with boy I offed twice in Dec and survived to surprise of firecat who suspected he may be ax murderer judging by his rough face.
 
I noticed him entering bar just before 9 but somehow did not see him inside and even mamasan couldn't find him but before I started developing depression boy, whole in smiles marched toward me. Did not waste much time to ask him to join me tonight but he was available only till 1 as was planning to go to BKK for visa extension using night bus.
 
To compensate he asked me how many nights I will be in Pattaya and offered he will accompany me long time for  remaining three which  I gladly accepted his muscular body being reason for that mono diet.
 
After show  we went to hotel which did not escape attention of Oscar's waiter mentioned above. 
 
Nice reunion in the room. Upon learning I will be spending another week in BKK he suggested he will go with me there offering to sleep on the floor if I decide to bring another boy I may fancy. I can't say I was very receptive to an idea since I never tried so called boyfriend experience, he was not pressing issue either.
 
When his time came up I decided to have a stroll to internet cafe and he was so concerned  that I will not off another boy that night he walked me over. I'm not sure he went home right away or hid himself somewhere to see if I go whoring.
 
Anyways happy I found him again I decided to sleep alone as requested and on steps of my hotel I was greeted by Oscar's waiter who just finished his shift and wanted  to thank me foe a tip. Probably wanted more but as I said, not my type at all so warm hug on the steps and we parted our ways and so day 3 was over

day 2
 
when boy left I realized I did not come to Thailand to waste time on napping so went to Foodland Patpong for an early breakfast / 62 baht 5.30 -9, 79 baht after 9 /.
 
Nantra Silom offers free  breakfast  but is very basic / toast, jam and butter, 2 kinds of cereal, some fruit, tea or coffee / so had additional coffee when returned to the hotel after taking customary stroll through deserted Patpong and soi Twilight. I like morning wander through those places , so different from night's hustle and bustle.
 
Checked exchange rates in vicinity of Silom and as usual best are at place near Om Yim, jewelry store in soi Thaniya and Natty Gems just beside soi Twilight, 33.52 was the best I saw that morning.
 
A bit later returned to soi Twilight to take a haircut and was charged 300 for a pleasure , location , location , location I guess.
 
I know I can have it for 1/3 of price and even know where  but being fresh from home where my local barber charges me eqivalent of 550 baht I considered having it for half price anyways.
 
On another chair was sitting Bon, boy from Prince who previously work for Adonis and whom I offed back in Nov 2014 for longest off I ever had. Despite it he did not recognized  me thinking I'm his old English teacher, oh well, it seems not all boys have such good memory as legend has it.
 
After early lunch I went to Arena. They are in process of moving and likely by now it completed. When I was there reception was still in old place but massage rooms upstairs were gutted already and open door and back windows served as A/C.
 
Almost all my boys I had massages with before were there and greeted me to a warm embraces. My favorite Dit was there as well and he escorted me to a new Arena upstairs where lobby area is still being worked on but massage rooms are ready, brand new with exception of tatty towels but I liked what I saw, lots of room shave windows.
 
Before we went to massage he showed me around and I wish them well as I always had a good service and a good time with their boys and usually visit the place as a first and still remember when old  Arena was brand new back in 2001 I guess. 
 
Distributed few 100 baht notes among boys who weren't chosen this time and went to Nantra to have a bit of rest as jet lag caught with me.
 
Funny thing about jet lag and I mentioned it already is that I noticed with age I take easier those long flights but it takes me more  effort to fight jet lag.
 
And it showed  in the afternoon when I went to Senso for another massage. Lots of new boys, only 2 familiar faces , no M nor Chai in sight but Tik was smiling at me so I chosen him, tall muscular boy and at one point of massage I just dozed off for a while , what a waste of resources but we had still our fun.
 
Rooms at Senso are of high standard with big mirror on the wall so while massaged  you can actually watch the boy's body.
Sure it comes with price - 1.5 hr massage 1300 and minimum tip 1500 for that length but  was  happy with Senso as always.
 
It looked that when I was inside we had quite a rain but it stopped already so i had grand tour of Silom again  and with pumping heart went to Screwboys hoping One, boy I offed 6 times and had a great time in December will be still there but unfortunately mamasan who recognized me right away told me that 'your boy One went home'.
 
Unpleasant surprise but this is a life so after drink and watching a show I decided to substitute One with quite muscular participant and off we went, first to have a supper and then to a room to discuss world politics or so.
 
Unfortunately it did not last till morning as around 4 boy expressed desire to go home because of day time job or whatever excuse he had and since he accepted 500 baht reduction in promised tip I let him go. Actually I could use few hours of sleep so no hard feelings.
 
Word on Nantra Silom, location is excellent in Silom soi 8 , hotel new and modern with spiffy elevator which doesn't stop on 2nd floor so if you have room there you need to climb flight of stairs. Breakfast is basic but in this heat nutritious enough , standard room on smaller side and no closets but no complains at 1000 baht other than durian.
 
Some previous occupant kept durian in room's refrigerator and every time I opened it smell filled whole room immediately and it was quite unpleasant.
 
day 2 finished and time to pack and go to Pattaya to see what happens there  

It was kind of unexpected to find myself back in Thailand only 5 months after previous and quite long, three weeks visit . While I had my ticked purchased at end of Jan literally till evening of the day of departure I was not sure I will be able to go due to some circumstances but heavens cleared and after many hours in the silver tube I landed in Swampy on Sunday morning.
 
This time I decided to enjoy my vacations  and not to post until return home since reporting is quite time consuming and I had only two weeks at disposal.
 
This time I skipped BBB Inn and decided to camp at Nantra Silom in Silom soi 8, I like hotel's modern and airy ambiance and fact that they don't give a you know what about visitors.
 
No more express train from airport, just regular City Link but some trains are using more upscale carriages from former express. As usual exchange rates uniform across the airport but last booth just before platform entry has better rates so make sure you do not rush exchanging until almost in the train.
 
Great joy to walk along Silom and Suriong with all eye candy, despite the heat went for  a stroll to Lumpini park where almost stepped on the giant monitor lizard crossing the walkway. We were both scarred for a few seconds.
 
Going back couldn't hold anymore and turned to Playboy massage for my regular 1.5 hr massage with very adventurous boy and not shy at all, as soon as we were in the cubicle he took my hand and placed   on his developing bulge using this gesture  as a reason to suggest higher than minimum tip. Not that I resisted.
 
Early evening I took motorsai to Sukhumvit soi 11 , you guessed wrongly , not for Hero but Banana Club where I was hoping Tao will be there and he was.
 
I consider his massage the best of them all so took  2 hr course and I'm glad I did.
 
Tao agreed to accompany me  to a dinner tonight and few hours later we met again in Nantra Silom lobby. We went to Oasis on Suriwong , my favorite place and I ordered , you guessed it right,  chicken with cashew nuts.
Noticed quite  few glances my boy received from ladies sitting at the table beside.
 
On way back we went to Tawan to see the show and I was immediately recognized by Boy, boy who was my last off in Dec and first from Tawan ever at the same time. Unfortunately for him I had a company although he suggested that it may be place for three in my bed but I'm not that adventurous.
 
No fuck show in Tawan but also no ladyboys just men, men and men all over the place. Looking around I was wondering what the hell it took me 10 trips  until I visited that bar for  a first place.
 
Great night together although not that long as I 'd like since Tao wanted to leave at 5 , but he always does so it did not come unexpected.

Mandalay Guide
 
For those who have thought about visiting the historical sites in Myanmar I can suggest a great driver in Mandalay and Bagan.  Saw Maung  [pronounced So Mo] is a native to Mandalay, gay friendly, a great driver and knows his way around Mandalay and Bagan.   He also know where all the new gay massage shops are in Mandalay!
 
An Air Asia flight directly into Mandalay is easy.  Saw Maung will pick you up from the airport and take you to your hotel.

Let me give you some "insider" info. Boys and girls who are working in massage shops live on tips: their salary is about 100 baht per day +50 baht from each massage (from oil usually 100 baht). That why they are sitting in front of shop and trying to catch customers. Working day lasts 12 hours, 4 day off per month including sickness. Penalty for each additional day off 300 baht. At high season they have 4-6 customers per 12 hours of work, at low season 2-3. 
 
They call customers who don't pay or pay small tips "Cheap Charly". Usually they expect tips about 50% from massage price for nonsexual service.

Over the very long haul, it'd certainly make sense to purchase rather than to rent; however, there are some caveats there that seem to apply especially here in Thailand:
 
(1)  First and foremost is the issue of your neighbors' activities and resulting noise.  The zoning rules here - such things as attempting to separate residential from business activities let alone the notion of set-back rules which actually require somebody to not build to (or over) their property line - are pretty much non-existent.  I lived for a while in a rather upscale condo on the west side here in Chiangmai only to discover that a bar built in a tin shed (my description) about 200 yards away caused unbelievable noise - causing even our windows and sliders to rattle until 2 in the morning.  It was really bad and the main reason I moved.  If you ever do choose to buy or rent just about anywhere here, do make sure you go to the proposed location a couple of evenings just to make sure you're not going to encounter a surprise noise nightmare.  You'll want to kill somebody if your neighbor opens up a karaoke joint!
And even though I did in fact do that (check the evening noises) when I moved to this townhouse several years back, I wasn't anticipating two 8-story condo buildings being built within 120 yards of here or the construction of the 4-story townhouse block no more than 4 meters immediately behind me.  Thankfully, those are almost 100% finished and have actually improved the neighborhood....but the 2-years of noise was rather bad.  Then again, the shoddy construction (single-pane windows, no insulation, etc.) simply invites noise to invade your residences here.  And, for me, I have to consider maiming a Thai neighbor who lives three townhouses down who last week decided to acquire a motorsy which sounds like a B-52 with bad ball bearings.  Oh well, I'll survive (he may not).
 
(2)  One question which is relevant for some (those who are adept/lucky enough to do well on the stock market or via other investments) is whether, given how cheap the rents are, you can do better with your money elsewhere. I have but maybe I've been lucky.
 
(3)  And just how "long-term" does it have to be to justify buying in the long term.  For many expat falang, they don't come over here until they retire (often 65 years or older) and the question is just how long do they plan on living in that location (or even living at all) for it make sense to purchase something?  10 years, 15 years, 20 years?  And I've known more than a few foreigners who moved here with the intention of making their permanent home here and then, due to medical issues or simply disenchantment, moved elsewhere (most often back to their home countries) within 4-6 years.  Friends that I know who've done that didn't make any money whatsoever on the places they purchased (in fact, after taking a long while to sell their places and paying all the interim and closing fees, they lost a chunk of change).
 
So it's a crap shoot, I suppose.  Just like if/when property prices take a tumble here.

Because one likes him, leaves private encounters for private premises, doesn't want to wait until he finishes his shift, neither one is on Jack'd etc, boss doesn't like his boys having off encounters with his clients even after hours and boy is afraid his roommate will gossip,  all those would be my reasons and I off massage boys more often than go-go's  

As long as you feel that you are getting value for your money you can and possibly should to tip whatever YOU consider fair and affordable.
 
If you tip a bit over the odds probably you are not getting much poorer because of your generosity and certainly you are helping to put some food on Thais table / or fund their gambling habit, but why not to take a chance money will be
well spend ? /

I should probably mention that one of the reasons I tip a bit more than others is that I am a giant. So for example doing a foot massage on me takes them a lot longer. The guys always joke about it and want to try on my shoes which they can do even when keeping their shoes on. Seriously. I can't even buy shoes or sandals in Thailand unless I have them handmade. 
 
Similarly, for a guy to hit on the bodyparts and do a decent massage is not an easy job. The main guy I use for full body massage is sweating and tired out by the time he is done working on me for two hours. My arms are the size of their legs or bigger. I do a lot of walking so my legs are solid.  I have had all the massage folks laughing at Wat Po when the woman tried to lift up my leg to put it on her to massage.
 
When a guy finishes my foot massage that they charged me 200 baht for, another 200 baht tip for a job well done seems like a bargain. My foot massage always goes over an hour. It only seems fair that I pay a bit more.
 
I do not tip for the sake of tipping. I tip because I know they earned it when they massage me!

still if they like us for whatever reason, usually tip or perceived good heart they tend to perform better on subsequent sessions.
 
This is reason I'm slowly moving from butterflying and giving more  business to those known already. Nothing wrong with doing it for money , I'm of strong and expressed already opinion that straight 'gay-for-pay ' boys are often performing   better to make up for shortage of passion.

I have always accepted that it is perfectly acceptable for different posters to pay different rates. Some pay too much and either want to, don't care, or don't know better from inexperience, some aim to pay a fair rate, and some try to pay the least amount possible. Different posters may ask for different services, different lengths of time, or have different chemistry with the boy.  There are many acceptable reasons.
 
My experience is that if the boy passes muster before I off him and when we are back in my room,  I respect the boy, am reasonable and not an asshole personality, the payment is accepted whatever it is as long as it is in the fair range. I seldom agree to a price upfront and I have never had a problem.  Sure sometimes the boy asks for a bit more and I may use joking as a way to address that or perhaps give a token amount more for taxi or food but I seldom encounter this.
 
I think many visitors underestimate the importance of respect, kindness, fun, and friendliness from the Thai boy's perspective. Yes, they need they money but it is not everything.  The boys note everything we do in forming their opinion of what kind of person we are. Do we tip others?  Do we smile?  Do we give coins to beggars on the street? Do we offer to buy the boys food without being asked?  I typically ask them if they want something from 7-11 or foodstall before we go back to the room. They also tell all the other boys what type of person we are when they return to the bar! So my belief is that you create your own karma according to how you treat the boys and it either "works for you" or "works against you".
 
I think it is useful to think beyond just the dimension of how much to pay.

What I learned over years is that it's better if boy forces himself upon me than me forcing myself upon him. They take our money gladly and make themselves available but still have their feelings and preferences and both sides are winners if there's some kind of match between two, it's called chemistry.
 
It's why I have strong preference for eye to eye assignment before  hiring boy although others using GayRomeo and likes may disagree.
 
As for LOS next trip, I'm planning one for second half of December so still long wait

I can assure you , that you are not likely to get away with your fowl language again.  If you want to have a civil discussion about over - paying that would be no problem.

Just my personal contribution as a new poster and a newcomer to the forums but for me ... well, i had trouble understanding the very concise manner of his reporting and still don't understand parts of it. It may read as boastful at first but after re-reading it a few times I've come to the conclusion that I may have read the intent in error. 

I am, however learning alot from the numbers (judged estimate) because I can translate it over my own countrys' currency and determining for myself what I intended to budget or tip was outside or within my means of spending (for my very first trip to Thailand). Personally I found it useful to have a comparative, so thank you for sharing the information.
 
On that note, 5000 baht for shoes, regardless of excellent quality would be well outside my personal expenditures for buying something on holiday.  Nonetheless, all information can be of use to someone, no matter how trivial it may be for others.

Why such  a strong language? Can't you just say that tips were too generous if you feel so instead of throwing double insults?
 
This is what reports are all about, reporting. What he chose to pay may out of line for some  but  this is information others  may be looking for.
 
He clearly said that he was too generous and suggested what sufficient tip would be in his opinion.
 
If your idea of fabulous vacation is penny pinching , nothing wrong with that but some may feel need to loose pure's strings a bit when holidaying and still have a feeling of getting their money's worth.

I also used Airbnb to book a condo in BKK for a four month stay.  I chose to stay in one place - Aree - for the whole time, but splitting up the time in different neighborhoods might have been fun too.  When you inquire about your booking, you could specify that the condo should include a weekly maid (meebaan) service.

I had a look at the maps, first impression positive.
 
You should separate (different symbols) massage and sauna, they are completely different businesses.

There are several massages in Soi Sri Bam Pen, Nuat Thai Hiso advertises to gay market.
 
In Silom Soi 6 and 8 there is Montara massage and Thai Best massage (both missing in map).
 
Super A is missing.
 
The place labelled as "Hotmale Station" (late night disco, same owner as Hotmale gogo and beer bar) used to be at the corner to Super A, closed last year, and last name was Baan Na บ้านนา as far as I know.
 
The Green massage (Surawong, about in front of Tarntawan Place Hotel) is missing.
 
Screw boys is slightly misplaced and Dream Boy is seriously misplaced (maybe googlemaps messes these up; I just notice they have Anuman Ratchathon and Silom Soi 7 in the wrong place).
 
Mantra massage มันตรา is missing (often overlooked, small stairway leading up, Surawong opposite Montien hotel open food court.
 
Fuse in basement of Wall Street tower is missing.
 
Playboy massage is missing, so is the massage place in Silom 64 building (don't know the name), and the massage (I think J-J massage) in the dead end soi (Silom Soi 1?) all on Silom under/next to BTS.

I don't know Club 9 Cafe and Blue and See Men (there is one in Chiang Mai), but Singapore Pub is now Wave Club and Seek is gone. DoorDum only open on weekends last time I checked (some months ago)

I think the Out in Thailand owner is missing a trick here - I think everyone ( himself included) agrees that his maps aren't great sometimes and could do with someone physically checking out bars geographical locations and providing sat nav locations as well etc plus as a brief overview of the type of place and whether it was actually opened on the date visited etc.
 
Well there's one poster who ALREADY travels around a lot of the gay venues in several cities, already provides sat nav geo locations for just about everywhere he goes on his own posts, he also likes to save as much Baht as he can when travelling anywhere and also always insists on staying in cheaply priced accommodation etc, so surely with a few emails back and forth James could simply task / ask Christian to come up with a database document showing at the very least the correct locations of all the usual popular venues plus some of the lesser known ones too as I'm guessing Christian has now built up a better database in his head than perhaps ANY of the gay mag owners might ever have.
 
He would also ( and of course I'm guessing here) be quite able and happy to do all of that whilst on his own existing travels ( which he's doing anyway of course) for the pleasure of getting his own ( already cheap 500 baht a night ) room cost covered along with perhaps a few beers thrown in and maybe a one of sensible fee payment for the service rendered.
 
This way Christian gets a few free trips, the magazine gets a ( knowing Christian) VERY detailed up to date location of 80 or 90% of gay bars in all the popular cities and the rest of us get the info we need to find them thanks to Christians sat nav info and directions etc - I'd just hope that his brief would be limited to locations and opening hours etc and not actually his preferred "briefs" info lol.
 
James - you can thank me later for this masterful idea as to how to solve your apparent problem very cheaply and in a Christian like detailed manner and Christian you're welcome too for your two or three free trips :-)  There, problem solved ! :-)

It's not my custom to criticize other's tipping habits but if one is sitting with boy and gropes him  I'm of very strong opinion that compensating tip  / 100-300, depending on length of time and activities involved / must be paid because normally we don't grope strangers sitting beside us. If somebody doesn't he is not just  cheap Charlie, it's just plain asshole.
 
 
Boys don't have any duty to make themselves available for our dirty hands.
 
If boy is invited to sit with us deserves tip even if we did not tough him as we may be prevent him from getting more generous customer.
 
If he is planting beside on his own we are free to ignore him if we wish.
   
Those sitting on their hands are absolved as long as I'm concerned as long as they can survive constant barrage by mamasans to buy a drink and off the boy as long as they keep their hands of.
 
 They are  not helping anybody's bottom line other than his own but I'd say let them have it. They may be frequent visitors , temporary short of cash or shy newcomers who don't know how to behave in bar.
 
Tawan recently prevented this kind of behavior by selling admission  tickets at front which can inside be exchanged for a drink - I liked an idea
