  1. Has anyone stayed at Jomtien Palm Beach?  Gay friendly?  Allow boys back to room or are they sniffy?  Two nights visit in a week's time - looking at Jomtien Palm Beach, or possibly View Talay Condo - both fairly near Jomtien complex.

    Or other recommends welcome.

    Thanks in advance, Wheelz

  2. I’m going to be in Jomtien from 30th Oct for 3 nights and would love to meet up with anyone from this board. One off in each of Sunnee (never been), Boyztown (been once) and Jomtien Plaza (never been) planned, but happy to go with the flow!. Like twinks. Would love to chat, learn from your experiences.

  3.

Recently one of our august members wrote this in a thread about Jomtien:

"One of the pleasures of Jomtien is that it is so easy and enjoyable to walk down the main soi and decide for yourself"

I'm used to Bangkok host bars like the older Charmming and others in Saphan Kwai( the boys are clothed and sit facing you ) it.

I never knew Saphan Kwai had host bars? Where are they? Are they active?????

  4. If you walk from National Stadium BTS towards the Canal Saen Saeb, on the left just after you descend the steps from the raised walkway, just around the corner from the Exhibition place, there’s a money exchange. Forget the name, but its always been the best rate place for me. I usually change a fair amount, though. Its not a place for a few dollars for the night!

Siam Exchange, Phayathai Road. Just checked.5

  5. Curiously, having felt tired and with no energy for the past weeks, I met one of my favourite boys yesterday for a short time - no payment, just fun - and today all my energy is back, I'm working like a 24 year old, and full of life.

You'd think it would be the other way around.  Exertions when already tired = greater tiredness.  Not so. Not so.  Curious!

  6. i know its not a norm here, but several websites i used, review of MBs are more frequent than say a trip report, where details of the mbs and their attitude, pics vs reality, massage skills, sex, dick size, and what theyll do or not is listed as part of the reviews, making it easier for us to pick and choose.

Please enlighten the unenlightened!  Where are these websites?  Or forums / fora?

  7. Interesting.  PlanetRomeo I find has less of 'my type' (twink, younger thai guys). Grindr ditto.  And I can't seem to work Blued.  Are there others?

The only downside is that, very often, there's a sob story attached....   Some are genuine, others I suspect may not be.  I don't mind giving small amounts of money - probably maximum 1000, but more often up to 500.  But I don't pay for Buffalo, Credit Card debts, or anything of that order....

  8. If they really run out of money it's mismanagement or misappropriation (spending money that should be used for food or rent on booze, cigarettes, drugs, taxi rides instead of walking or bus), not poverty.

A rather narrow definition of poverty, I think.  The inability to manage funds, leading to missing meals, is a form of poverty. Usually defined as 'Secondary Poverty' (Seebohmn Rowntree), the temptation is to attribute it to moral behaviours with which we disagree, which in turn leads to avoidance.

Correct to say that 'more money' won't solve this kind of poverty.  It's more complex. Money management is a learned skill, and if you've grown up without any kind of model, have had no one to show you how, and have friends who live the same way, it's hard to do.  Heck, it's hard for me to do.  It's a learned skill.  But if someone gets into a real mess because of poor money management, a short-term, targeted gift may give them the emotional space to start correcting problem behaviours (Maslow's hierarchy of needs). And then you can offer mentoring.  We run a family charitable trust based on exactly this position.  Many disagree with us. It's our money.

  9. Have some pity on the boys.

Quite a number of them were going hungry as recently this September. Just wondering if they could benefit from food coupons.

Hi witty.  I'd be grateful for sources of information here.  Do you know this via friendship with them, or just by hearsay?  If correct info, then it backs up what I'm thinking.  A hotel boy from Pattaya (cute, on Romeo) told me that he is temporary staff (showed me his badge) and said that he gets 350 baht if they hold a seminar, but nothing else, and he is not on salary.  Average meal cost on the street is 35 baht, and he will have to pay rent, electric, water and phone (phone is as essential as water these days to thai boy).

  10. Patpong; opposite Twilight. Next to pink Panther .

Actually behind Pink Panther - that small path only opens late afternoon. I spent ages looking for it next to PP before I looked behind in that small pathway. And dont confuse it with the ‘New Screwboys Kareoke’ in Patpong 2.
