I highly recommend Salvador Bahia...the city is dope...the beach is cool....Its very different from Rio but there are A LOT of black guys there...

You can take the air conditioned bus to Copa/Ipanema for a less than you would pay for a taxi and definitely check out Lapa while you are there...you can do most of the touristy things in 2 days...

There you should go to Salvador Bahia versus Rio....while there are some darker skinned guys in Rio, Salvador has the majority of the black Brazilian population and there is definitely more variety if you are into dark skinned guys ....Lighter skinned looking mulattos are the the majority in Rio... There are a few black guys in the sauna, maybe a handful...they will stand out since they are the minority... Hours can totally range...I have had experience where I had an overnight guest that I woke up to put out at 7 or 8 am and I have had guests literally stay around the whole of my trip...It just depends on what negotiate and always be clear so there wont be any issues

Rio is still Rio...around Carnival, there are tons more people, crowds all around the city... More crime because of more people....you should be extra careful... Hotels and apartments are the highest rate of the year during Carnival... Saunas tend to be packed with foreigners and boys come from all over Rio to work....standard rates are also higher based on the demand for the boy.... Mardi Gras and Carnival are not comparison....as far as size....Carnival is Rio kills NO with number of people visiting, events and price hikes....'
