Evening before you choose what breakfast you want and they make sure to make it for you. Standard fresh orange juice, coffee, tea, milk with cereal, toasted break with jam on top or your chosen breakfast. I choose for fresh fruits and a croissant. The guesthouse doesn't offer dinner, but the lady gave me good advice and arranged tuktuk and I had a lovely dinner. The same friendly tuktuk driver (its the fixed driver for this guesthouse, a couple - man and lady - who drive the tuktuk together) was driving me around Ayutthaya to see all the temples the next day also. Arranging an official taxi from Ayuttaha to Silom would have costs 1200 baht, but even in Ayutthaya the Bolt app is working very well... So eventually I only paid 800 baht for the drive to Bangkok. Earlier in my trip report hotel choices is Silom were discussed. There's a new hotel just opened recently: Ibis Styles Silom. And I decided to check in out for the next few days. Conveniently located on Silom Road, few minutes walk from Sala Daeng Skytrain station. Next to CP tower actually. So very good located to the main gay areas: soi4 is just on the opposite side of the road, and so are the entries to Patpong2 and the soi where Tawan is located. I asked to allocate me a room on the outside of the hotel as I had read online that rooms on the patio side of the hotel can have some noise pollution from the hotel patio and restaurant. The modern rooms are nice and colourful. And with the hotel still being brand new, everything is very clean and almost untouched and unused. Onl ylittle downside: like almost all modern hotels you need a keycard to access the elevator. So you will need to meet your (Grindr) boy outside or in the lobby to bring him up. I always like then option to just let hen come directly to your hotel room. I expect no problems bringing boys back to my room actually. As this hotel hosts a monthly rooftop gay pool party every first Saturday of the month. So it must be a very gay friendly and welcoming place. Anyhow, I'm sure this was a good hotel choice for me for the coming nights on Bangkok... Let's see what adventures will happen this time.

I thought this was a post about tips on Pattaya... Not a discussion about races, discrimination and who's right & who's wrong... I think there can be two opinions on almost all things... A bar I think has a nice atmosphere, somebody else will find too loud. A boy I think is sexy, somebody else wouldn't even pay attention too. And a Soi that somebody else finds dangerous, you maybe will feel completely safe in. Also it can be all about what time you are where. If somebody is in a Soi where a lot of motorbikes dangerously drive/race around doesn't have to mean somebody who comes there the next day has the same expierence. I see this forum as a place where people can agree but so can think different about things. Like hotel reviews where somebody writes its a horrible hotel while the next guest writes its a fab place to stay... It's all about perspective, expectations and feelings. I've read on this forum for example that Dreamboys in Bangkok would be the bar with the best boys. For me it was the least favourite place when I made my round in the Bangkok bars two weeks ago... I don't go and write other poster was wrong and he must have been making it up. I just give my own opinion about my visit. It's all about respect.

Sorry to hear your bad expierence with the two Vietnamese boys. I myself had some very pleasent moments with Vietboys and other men in this forum also I read. So yeah I think the right conclusion is you were just unlucky. Don't think you can say in general Vietboys are bad... After all you only tried two... Can't really call that representative research. Part 18: More fun in Phuket... With no go go bars being re-opened (yet), to get some fun in Phuket you have to scroll the apps, venture to the massage shops or just flirt with boys you like in the nightlife. There are a few massage places catering for us kind of people in the Paradise Complex. Most of them situated in the middle Soi. The one directly in front of the hotel tower. 4 Massage, right on the first picture. Actually very close to entrance of the hotel. So maybe they moved to another place that is unfindable, or your information is unfortunately not up to date.. After a few drinks on the terrace of G Club I was already feeling a bit tipsy. I was in Pattaya last week. You can read about my Boyztown visits here and here in my trip report. Off course it's (still) not how it was before covid (and I doubt I will ever be again...). But same can be said for Bangkok, Phuket and other places. Pattaya is not dead at all. Still more than enough fun can be found. Part 16: Trip to the south... Going to Phuket After a view nice days in Pattaya is was time to leave for Phuket. I've worked and lived in Khao Lak and Phuket for about 5 months a few years ago and I was curious how Phuket came out of the covid period. Also still an old colleague and his Thai boyfriend are living in Phuket so was looking forward to see them again too. U-Tapao Airport is very small with at this moment only one or two flight a day. Probabaly because of this, ALL restaurants and bars were closed at the airport. Before and afyer security. So if you fly from there, maybe good to have some drink with you and drink it before you go trough security check. You can go trough security just 15 minutes before boarding time as the airport is so small and nos busy at all. I wouldn't be afraid of airlines cancelling flight from U-Tapao because of lack of passengers. Both flights that departed from the airport when I was there looked well occupied. My own flight to Phuket, with a propellor plane, was almost completely full. Flying with Bangkok Airways means a meal/snack and drinks are included. What I actually needed as everything at the airport itself was closed. Phuket Airport (and the rest of the touristic areas on the island) are known for their taxi maffia. The government is trying to do something about it. There are now maximum taxi fares in place from the airport. Every taxi tooth and booth is now actually charging the same: 800 baht from airport to Patong. You can also follow signs "taxi meter" to the very end of the parking area. If you're lucky there is a taxi meter waiting there. As that mind turn out a bit cheaper. While I was in my way to the taxi meter parking, a drives offered me the ride for 650 baht which I agreed on. I also checked Bolt. They charge around 500 baht but Bolt taxis are officially not allowed to pick up customers at Phuket Airport and I wanted to avoid any nasty situations. I booked the Best Western Patong Hotel. Because it walking distance from Paradise Complex but on a more quiet road. And it has a rooftop pool for some afternoon chilling. And for 790 baht per night it was priced good. Pool at Best Western Patong I'm evening it was time to head to Paradise Complex to see what's left from the gay area. In one street good old Zag Club is still there, even bigger than before. Next to it is G Club. Both have drag shows that you can watch while sitting on their terraces. As they do the show on the street. Zag later continues their show inside. It was very busy at Zag. Between their shows the crowd in dancing and flirting. With some shirtless staff joining in. Crowd is a good mix of falang, Asian, young and older. Everybody enjoying themself and each other... Very good and nice atmosphere. Having a good night out in Zag Club There are two other smaller bars in the street but they actually didn't have any customers when I passed by. The good old boat bar went bankrupt and is gone. There used to be also two go go bars in Paradise, with boys wearing numbered tags that could be offed. But they also didn't surivive covid lockdowns. The owner of Zag Club bought most of the buildings on the street. To avoid any competition coming in. Some of the buildings he is owning are already empty for many years. They are up for sale, but apparently he doesn't want to sell to anybody planning to start a bar or club. Other bars, like G Club, are struggling a bit. For example: Zag is suppose to do their street show until 10pm after which G Club can start theirs, to try to get also some customers in. But Zag just continues their street show till way after 10pm, giving G Club less fair chance to take some business. The bars are next to each other, so they can't do street show at same time because music will reverberate disturbingly. G Club terrace Because of the dominant presence of Zag, that club was full of people while G club only had handful customers on the terrace. If you're coming to Phuket I would suggest to also support the business in G Club a bit and don't forgot to also sit down at their terrace for a drink. If only for the cute and young owner / manager. Their streetshow will start as soon as Zag take theirs inside. In the road parallel of the bar street, there are a few gay massage places. Will check them out later.

I have to catch up reacting to some of your comments... This was exactly what is was saying to @bkkmfj2648 when we were in Boyz Boyz Boyz together. That it looked that bar changed from gay bar to boy bar or host bar. Quite a few woman inside. And the (in my eyes) best looking boys on stage were actually only interested in the female clients (for tips or offs). In my report about my first night there, I wrote about the guy with curly hair. On my 2nd visit he was again going from table to table for drinks and tips with mostly female guests. From all the Bangkok bars I visited I think freshboys has the best full experience. Show, atmosphere and good variety of boys. Specially for a firdt timer Freshboys would be the best choice I think. Part 15: More adventures in Boyztown On Tuesday during daytime I decided to go visit the Sanctuary of Truth. Really a beautiful and impressive place. A bit expensive to get in (500 baht entrance fee). But for this you get a guided tour for about 45 minutes / 1hr. For me, the guided tour was a bit too long. With too much and too deep explanation about the philosophy behind the temple. Why are we on earth and in what kind of society do we want to live? After the guided tour you're free to explore the temple on your own and make lots of pictures of the wood carvings. The Sanctuary of truth For dinner I was meeting up with @bkkmfj2648. We ended up in French restaurants Nathan's just outside Jomtien Complex on Thappraya Road. Realy good good, nice atmosphere. They trained their staff very well. It's run by a French expat who is funny (and a bit queeny...). Had a very nice dinner. After dinner we went for drinks in Jomtien. Sitting at @home bar, discussing boys, life in Thailand and other stuff. Was really nice to meet up with somebody from this forum for the first time. The Cambodian guy I offed from @home a day earlier was happy to see me again but I made clear this time I was there just for drinks with my new friend. Off course I tipped him for being our waiter. Part 14: Boyztown Yesterday I've spent most of my time at the beach. From Jomtien I was walking to the Dongtan side of the beach. I totally agree with your observation. I visited almost all of the bars when I was in Bangkok 2 - 7 September and also I found the atmosphere in Tawan very friendly. And the guys also.

I liked flying on U-Tapao Airport for Pattaya. Its a small airport so before you know it you already have your luggage and are in your taxi on the way to Pattaya. As in BKK, with the long distance you might have to walk from plane to baggage belt and sometimes the waiting time for luggage to come... But off course the main thing will be flight days and times. Choose what's most convenient for you as flights to U-Tapao are limited.

The drink in M2M did not taste good at all. It was like there almost no coke in my mixdrink and I was drinking pure alcohol with a bad taste. The water only stays in the shower area and does not flood the rest of the bad room floor. So actually it's a good design. Also the shower curtain helps off course. Exactly. It was 2500 ST for a Tawan guy. Plus off course 500 bar fee. That's 500 baht in total more than you pay in a average boybar (Patpong 2). The going rate is 2000 for the boy and 500 for the bar in Bangkok. Prices a bit higher in Tawan, Jupiter and Moonlight. In Pattaya prices can be a bit cheaper, but depending on where you go.

Part 13: First night in Pattaya Yesterday evening after dinner I made a walk in Jomtien complex. And soon I did see confirmed what others already wrote in this forum a few times: the guys trying to get you on their terraces are more on the small, slim twinky side. Not realy my regular taste. I like my boys to be more hunk like, with preferably some muscles on it. So walking in Jomtien was for me not like entering a candy shop. But the atmosphere was good, the boys very friendly. The show in The Venue was already in full swing. But I was on my way to M2M because their show was going to start in a few minutes. They have daily shows now (except for Mondays) at 10pm. It was a busy Sunday night. Around 85% of the seats were taken when I came in, and after me some more guests came in. I ordered a rum and coke. But it was undrinkable. Way too strong. The colour suggested some coke was in there, but tasted almost pure alcohol. Nothing that can't be solved. I just ordered another coke on the side. I have to confess I was actualy very entertained by the show at M2M. It probabaly also helps when you know what to expect. And I knew I was not going to see any gay erotica or big dicks. They had 5 ladyboys and 7 or 8 boy dancers doing different acts. The show lasted for a good 90 minutes. Part of the cast What was this strange language of the songs of a few of their acts? Was it Russian? Would it be more political correct to skip these? The combination of ladyboys with some background dancers worked good for me. The dancing boys were good eye candy. One of them, the cutest one in my eyes, even was the front man in one act. When he started playbacking "What do you want from me?" by Adam Lambert I could think of a few thinks he could do for me... Lol My favourite of the show... After the show finished the cast went outside on the street so the audience had the chance to snap some pictures or have a talk. My favourite dancer was unfortunately busy talking with another (female) fan... When I walked passing the different bars again I found that some terraces were having quite some customers, while others were almost empty. The boyish boys were still present trying to convince me to take a drink at their establishment. But I had made other arrangements already with a guy from Grindr coming to visit me in my hotel room to have a deep discussion about current affairs... 😜😊
