  1. I didn’t understand either. But I like tips if @Verrugawants to elaborate.
  2. I’ve decided that based on current spikes, new strain and the dozens of pics on insta of my friends partying in Rio without masks, that the likelyhood of me not getting Covid during a January visit is slim to none. I’ll just wait until March or so when I can get a vaccine and am confident that (a) I am much more protected from geting Covid and (b) [and this is my real fear] I can be relatively confident I wouldnt contract it and then give it to someone and make them very ill or worse. Thanks for all the pointers! I’m sure they’ll still be valid in March/April when I visit after I receive the vaccine. And, I’ll post about my trip at that point. Happy New Year everyone!
  3. Questions for a first timer. Found a biz class flight for $1800 and have credits left from a few cancelled flights that I can consolidate to cover it so — free direct flight in biz to Rio! Like all my trips, I’m going to plan real things not involving sex. Hanggliding, a Sugarloaf hike, beachtime! Booking dinners at Lasai and Oteque which are both supposed to be amazing. So suggestions welcome. Buuuut, the real questions I have for you all are sauna and garoto related. I have zero experience with saunas — anywhere. Is there a thread on sauna etiquette, specifically Rio saunas? I can get a lot from Tomcals thread that started in 2010 (thanks for that). I’ve read nearly all the threads but not able to find info on a few things... I hate being the guy with all the questions, but have a lot so here are some of them. If you help, I’ll give a great readout of my trip in return: At sauna: Are folks naked? Underwear? Up to the person? Saw a post from 2010 that said it was up to the person, what do most people do? Underwear? Towel? Gym shorts? Do you rent a room when you go in? I see a few posts where it says the guy gets the room? What are room rates and do you get one for the night or for each visit. Do garotos speak English? If no, I saw @Tomcal post from 2010 with some key phrases. But didn’t seem to indicate if English was common in Rio or no? I’m down for learning some Portuguese, but don’t have much time and am hopeless with languages — so not sure how I’ll do in the next couple weeks — beyond the 3 or 4 phrases Tomcal suggested. I prefer luxe hotels, but are places like fasano ok for bringing guys back? For my first time an Airbnb seems risky, but tell me if I’m wrong. I don’t really wanna stay in a midrange or lower end hotel, are those my only options if I want programmas? Any recs? I don’t like to haggle. Do you have to? Seems going rate is 150-200, is that right? Do I ask then for a price or can I suggest 175? and when does discussing rate come into play in the conversation? In the room? Before the room — even if others are around? as for what they will do, I like the suggestion of asking if they’re a good kisser as I love making out, but what about other stuff, active, passive, etc. should I just assume they’ll do most things in the mainstream or do you need to discuss firsts. If you’re in a group and interested in one guy do you just ask him in front of others, ask him to step away for discussion, etc? What can I do to be a good human in instances of saunas and garotos? Saw the notes on tipping. They were helpful. But aside from being nice and maybe a reasonable tip, anything that is appreciated by locals? I know there’s risk of covid transmission, but any info on amount of risk? Or mitigation? that’s a lot. Thank you! Also, anyone else in Rio in late January and want to grab dinner [my treat] or if you want to make virtual intros or point me in right direction happy for the help. Very much appreciating the threads, they are great. cc: @floridarob @Tomcal @numazu1 @SolaceSoul
  4. Was amazing. I Locked in reservations for Central and Maido. Definitely recommend. The first night I stayed in a luxe but very small hotel I read about in Wallpaper, it was in Miraflores. Was not conducive to bring guys back. I switched to a larger hotel in Barranco. Definitely recommend staying in Barranco and a larger hotel. The city is gorgeous, most everyone speaks English in Miraflores and Barranco. Shopping is amazing — check out culture trip for recommendations. Lots of free offers on Grindr, the guys were enthusiastic, but other latin cities (Medellin, CDMX, Barcelona, Etc.) have more and better looking guys for my type, shorter, great asses, muscular, cute face. That said, I found some guys with amazing asses and good bodies and I had some great sex in Lima. Like I said, they are definitely enthusiastic. But, the real draws were the food, the shopping, the architecture and the city, imho. Tips: they have amazing hotels in these gorgeous Belle Époque mansions, they are super luxe and chic, but small, and the service is so good in Lima, I felt uncomfortable bringing guys back. I’d recommend staying in a larger hotel, or even an Airbnb. It felt like a very safe city and the guys I met were all very sweet. I like hotels just for the safety, but I didn’t feel any of that Rio or Barcelona hustler vibe with the guys I met in Lima, so Airbnb is prob ok.
  5. My experience last month was $70-$100 US. But there is LOTS of free on grindr. But before going, I had browsed milleroticos and sexyservidores and fallen in lust with a couple guys that I couldn’t pass up.
  6. Everyone city SOME hot guys, right? I promise to post a review if guys on here will give some pointers ;-)
  7. Hey guys, first time poster here. I’ll be in Lima next month for a 4 day weekend. Have dinner reservations lined up for Astrid y Gaston and Central. Gonna go sand boarding one day and Will do the requisite sightseeing and artisan shopping (recommendations welcome), but also looking for a guide and/or hot escorts. Love muscled young guys with great asses. Also, like smart, traveled guys that can converse in English as I only speak broken Spanish (again, recommendations are welcome). Anyone know the going rate in Lima? I clicked around and saw a few posts on the city but not much. Would love to hear from folks — DM works too. Thanks, guys. Ethan P.S. I tend to stay in design hotels when traveling as I’m a sucker for good sheets, pillows and a cool aesthetic. But notice all the design hotels in Lima are small (under 20 rooms). Thoughts on Airbnb or larger hotels for bringing guys back? P.P.S. Not a fan of late night clubs or saunas as I don’t like to be hung over or tired while visiting a new city ;-)
