The rentboys available in the local gay bars will gladly show you around, both culturally and erotically.

There are no rentboys available in gay bars in France. At least I never saw one.

But there are many gay places where you can have fun such as saunas (Suncity, Euro Men's club and Sauna Odessa if you want to find a younger guy liking older gentlemen), sex clubs (l'Impact (all male, all naked, all night); Keller (leather, > 40 years old), Le Dépot (sex club and disco), all types, all ages), Bars or show places (Bear's Den or Banana Café or shower show with gogo boys in Raidd bar). I guess that some of the dancers in Banana and Raidd can be  rentboys (I met in a Brazilian sauna one boy who used to dance in Banana Café and he told me he escorted a few times). Not easy to discuss with the dancers anyway.

Enjoy your time in France !

I do not know the current gay scene in these places, except in Nice where there are a couple of saunas (Bains Douches, Sauna du Chateau which is now no longer only gay ...). Sex clubs : Eagle bar ou le Glam avec shows, disco, ...

I guess, except in Paris, all places are rather quiet during the week.

FWIW I was in Avignon for a few days in 2008. The gay scene was small - there was a popular but not large disco (on the edge of the centre, with a bar and dancing) and also a small and poorly-attended bar in the centre. At that time, quite a few Arabs had been moved from Marseilles to Avignon (apparently by mayoral edict) and there was some talk of increased street-crime.

Thanks Msclelovr. I’ll keep this in mind and report back on what has changed, if anything.
