Saw these two signs today at Payathai Plaza on the way to get my hair cut.

I wonder if this one is for a heart specialist or a watch repairer?   :unknw:

This was on the door of a Bangkok Bank branch. I can only assume some subtlety got lost in translation.

Speaking of haircuts, firstly one of the things i LOVE about going to Thailand is going in and getting my hair cut and styled ( especially in soi twilight etc as gay hairdressers in Thailand are SOOOO fussy about their and your hair, which I love - however aside from that has anyone tried one of the new very small "pop up" style barbers that seem to be appearing in the MRT / train stations / shopping malls etc, where basically it's a proper barbers chair plonked in the middle of any busy area and away they go, basically working on the shoe shine type concept except cutting your hair instead  - oh and it's ridiculously cheap I seem to recall like 100-200 baht or something I think, but I also think your hairs cut in super fast time ( as you were probably there to catch a train I assume).  Personally I wouldn't risk it in case it was a crap haircut but any stalls that I've seen seem to have a queue so they must be doing something right I guess !

oh and just to stay on topic about favourite pics etc - the guy below was obviously ahead of his time as his barbers shop in Vietnam was simply a briefcase opened up and nailed to a tree every day with his cutting gear and razor ( with new clean blades, I did check first !) stuffed in to it and away he went - and to be fair to him his haircut and wet shave was first class ! :-)

No, neither would I. My reasoning is this:

Any Thai male going to one of these barbers, is almost certain to come away happy. I don't like to stereotype, but the majority of men in Thailand have straight black hair. Now if that isn't the easiest kind of hair to cut, I'd like to know what is. Whereas caucasian men have many different hair types, from straight to wavy to curly as well as a tendency to thinning hair at an earlier age than most men in Thailand. Although my hair is pretty average, I still wouldn't risk it!

I've just realised I haven't contributed any photos to this thread yet. Memo to self: must do better. . .

Yesterday got into what must be the Ferrari of Bangkok taxis - upholstered seats, lot of red, boombox speakers in the back seat and even a microphone for karaoke!

Speaking of haircuts . . .

Mine are very simple and very cheap - and I only occasionally have to visit a hospital!

Pink was once quite shocking for men to wear. I bought a lovely pink T-shirt in Cambodia in 2000 but never wore it as it was just too bright. Pink doesn't shock much these days although this football (soccer) shirt from Everton Football Club pushes the boundaries as football is notable for its lack of out gay players.

Parents teach their kids who to love at a very young age. And some other little girls and boys aren't always happy about it.

There's a better pic of a kilt being blown by the wind (!) to reveal the wearer's bare bottom at a Hong Kong Remembrance Day Service. Unfortunately you have to click the link as the photo cannot be downloaded.
