Just noticed it’s now down to just over 41 baht !. The latest fall is of course a result of the current uncertainty about the Brexit exit. In my humble opinion the population made a very foolish choice when voting to exit the EC. when I first discovered Thailand nearly 20 years ago I recall receiving around 70 baht for my pounds. I think the drop is much greater than that experienced by the € and the $. Whilst I am well funded I have hesitated when confronted by the financial,requests of my temporary Asian boyfriends, whereas in the past I was generous particularly with hot boys who give a good performance in bed. Certainly I believe the numbers of gay Brits in Thailand will continue to thin out, particularly in the case of expats.

Whilst being in a position to afford business class my frugal upbringing prevents me from travelling that way and paying the substantial extra cost (around £2000 for MAN > BKK), despite persuasive friends making remarks like “what’s money for ?.” However one supplement I have paid for my current trip is as follows.... For MAN to BKK in November there was about 10 airlines offering economy fares ranging from £420 to £700 return. These are about the same as what I paid 18 years ago when I first discovered Pattaya. They all offer a reasonable seat, a meal and some seat back entertainment although I would not book flights involving more than 3 hours for changing planes. Why therefore not choose the cheapest ?. This would likely mean 100% full flights and many families in transit to the Indian Sub Continent with screaming babies and huge amounts of cabin luggage. Also groups of young loud guys. I paid £70 more for an A380 flight and for one leg I had 3 window seats to myself which could be arranged to form a virtual bed and on the other a spare seat next to me. Better cabin service an no queues for the toilets and the ability to stretch the legs with a walk down the aisle. I can’t say I enjoyed the flights but they were certainly tolerable. I always laugh when I hear the pilot saying that he hoped economy passengers had enjoyment. No for me 12 hours in economy is not enjoyable !

I go along with Colman. Silicone lube is very messy and you will not make friends of hotel staff if it gets onto the bed sheets. Thai boys are sometimes careless and squirt the stuff all over and use excessive quantities especially if they are about to be topped. Standard KY Is my choice although you can get through a lot if you repeatedly apply.

Not had any replies to my question above, but it has been answered in the thread “how busy is Boyztown and Sunee” with an excellent report by ggobkk in which he says that Cupidol was busy and had a number of twinky boys. That’s good enough for me to schedule a visit even though I plan to stay in the Jomtien Complex for the first part of my trip next week.

Regarding busy gogos I sometimes get frustrated if there is a boy I have the hots for becomes unavailable before I have a chance to call him over. At the moment Pattaya is coming towards the start of High Season, which in theory runs to March with Peak Season from 20 December to 10 January. I have checked hotel and booking agency websites for a December trip and whilst prices are a higher than when I was in Pats during July, there seems to be no shortage of accommodation. I really am not bothered about how many visitors are in town, rather that there are a good number of boys for me to interact with. You will of course know what I mean by “interact “. So if high season has that result then I will be happy.

My next trip will be in four weeks time so having found a good flight I am thinking about the other logistical options. I find the bus options Suvanaphum to Pattaya excellent and the trivial cost saving over a taxi appeals to my sense of economy. During my last trip to Pattaya I stayed in the Jomtien Complex and used the host bars there rather a lot. The evening activities seemed to be divided into three phases. Firstly from about 5 pm till say 9.30 pm it’s all about attracting customers, arriving from dinner, into the bars and that is what the boys do, whilst having fun in the Soi. Expats tend to sit together and are well known to the boys. Those on holiday, like myself, are left alone unless they specifically ask a boy to sit with them. This can be a mistake as the boy will claim you and it is difficult to engage another due to the compact nature of the bar area. Leave interaction till later. After say 10.30 some of the customers depart and the boys make moves towards the remainder, looking for drinks and offs. You see more intimate conduct, such as kissing and cuddling. After about 12 the bars are definitely quieter with many boys having departed with customers, but there will still be a few that would attract you until as late as 3 am, when I would certainly be in bed with my boyfriend du jour.
