In the cooler weather I sometimes dispense with the aircon and open the window or balcony door and let a little fresh air in. Although that’s not good if insects penetrate the room. I seem to sleep better that way. Boys don’t seem to mind - Asleep is their natural condition.

Over the last 20 years I’ve made a great number of trips to Thailand, principally to Pattaya, at various times of the year. The only times I avoid are Christmas / New Year ( say 15 December to 15January) and Songcran in April. Coming from the North West of England the differences in rainfall or temperature really don’t register with me. Ok November to March hotel prices are higher but that cost is a relatively minor part of the trip budget. The number of attractive boys seems to adjust to the number of gay customers in town. If there are a good number, the boys call their friends in Isaan who get on the bus to service the demand. Classic economics.

I wonder if anyone has had trouble with the police following poppers usage. I’m not a regular user. I suppose it could happen that a money boy could report you. Maybe I’m being a little paranoid.

The Agate looks to be about the same price as the Baan Souy for late January, when I might want to stay. It was much cheaper of course in September when I was there. You will get a better rate booking direct rather than through agencies. I suppose comparing the two hotels it depends on how much you value the proximity of tha Agate to the Complex bars.
-
Nasherich - how much did you pay for a room at the Baan Souy. High season or low season. Is it 100% gay ?

I use motor bike taxis quite a lot and have never been involved in an accident. They can be a good option from Boystown or Sunee to the Complex. I’ve even had my off with me on the same bike. About 100 baht solo and maybe 150 double. During the day the walk to Pattaya is good excercise. First along Dongtan then up to Thrapraya Road and under the flyover to South Pattaya.

Winner Boys in Sunee Plaza opening February 18th
Travellerdave replied to williewillie's topic in Gay Pattaya
I visited a couple of times during my last trip. I don’t recall the towels but some boys were wearing the bow ties which look sexy. I think there could be more variety with boys dress in the gogo’s. Perhaps wearing jocks or g-strings would be good. I don’t like 100% naked. -
I usually take viagra or generics at the start of my trips but then find no need and discontinue. How long would it be safe to start using poppers ? one or two days or longer ?. I’m versatile and like to partake sometimes when I’m being topped.
-
I Stayed there in September and intend to do so during my next trip. I had a very good experience. It’s very comfortable and the breakfast is great also very convenient for the gay bars in the Complex. Being low season there were not many other guests - a mixtures of gays and their Thai boys and hetros. It’s not 100 percent gay but there was no tour parties staying. Much quieter than staying in Boystown.

I usually work out at Tonys on Third Road near the junction with South Pattaya Road. This is the largest gym in Pattaya with an extensive range of weights / aerobic machines and it has a fairly large swimming pool. There are two facilities on each side of the road. Long term memberships are good value but for periods less than one month it’s rather expensive.

Regarding Cambodian Men Working in Bars in Thailand
Travellerdave replied to a topic in Gay Thailand
Long time ago before I discovered Thailand and Pattaya I spent my holidays in gay European resorts, principally Playa del Ingles. I dedicated most of the daylight hours to turning my white Northern European body a deep shade of brown by lying on the beach there. I believed, not without justification, that this made me more attractive to other gay men. I liked to excentuate the brown by wearing thongs to produce tan lines. When in Pattaya I hide from the fierce sun under the beach umbrellas and walk around taking advantage of any shade, as do the majority of the Thais, unless their work prevents this. When I go home my skin is hardly any different shade to how it was on arrival. However I very much like brown skinned boys and find the contrast with white bed sheets most attractive. On the beach or at the pool, white speedos and their brown skin are very nice. Returning to the theme of this thread, Cambodian boys are great. I offed several from the bars in the Complex. -
Long time - how many times sex with the boy?
Travellerdave replied to Jhoony's topic in Gay Thailand
During my regular trips to Pattaya I prefer to have boys with me long time so I very much endorse the procedure described earlier by Vessey. In fact for me to sleep alone would be a little bit unusual. I find I’m most horny when waking up which is often early say 6 am, having gone to bed about midnight. If you look at my posts regarding hotels you will sometimes read complaints about noise, particularly at the Ambience. Many boys are not morning people so they can be slow to response to my demands for sex at that time. I’m versatile but in the morning I’m top, whereas at night it’s kissing and sucking. -
What do you normally tip for short time in Pattaya ?
Travellerdave replied to a topic in Gay Thailand
These arguments have been going on for many years before Internet forums in fact. I remember during my first trip to Pattaya in 2002 being chastised when in a Sunee host bar when asked how much I was paying a boy for a long time off. When I replied 800 he said that it was far too much and that I was spoiling the boys. This was when I was getting about 70 baht for a £ !. -
Although I often do short time My preference is to off the boy at about midnight and to have him in bed with me until about 9 or 10 in the morning. I’m versatile but on waking up I’m most definitely top so specifying his time of departure is important. Also I quite enjoy buying them breakfast particularly if they speak some English and very occasionally offering them more money to accompany me to the beach.

Good advice in the last few posts. After oral especially after having cum in my mouth I always use mouthwash, but am not sure whether this does any good. I take one of the very small bottles when going for a massage or visiting a gay sauna such as the Sansuck. As a general rule i would not suck cocks in a bar, but in bed with a boy I love it.
-
I don’t recall meeting any Vietnamese boys during my recent trip to Pattaya. Many Cambodian and some Laos boys in the Complex Bars, who were mostly good for me in bed. Perhaps Viets tend to work in BKK.
-
Yes that’s certainly true Vinapu. Hotels in Thailand are great value particularly in Pattaya where competition forces prices down. I stayed at the Agate during part of my September trip and the cost I would estimate was about a third that of an equivalent hotel in the UK, which is expensive partly due to the VAT tax of 20%. Mind you my expenditure on rooms was much less than that on boys. Taking into account visits to the bars, off fees, boys tips, condoms/lube and a few presents it would be something like an average of 4500 baht per day. This is probably twice what I spent when I first visited Pats 16 years ago, and even more in GBP bearing in mind the depreciation in the pound. I would certainly stay at the Agate again but still spend sometime in one of the BT Hotels. It’s very gay friendly rather than 100% gay. In addition to a bed (double) of course, working shower and aircon, good reliable broadband is important.

I visited Winner several times during my last trip 4-7 weeks ago. If number 23 had been there I would have tried to off him - he looks just my type, but I dont recall seeing him. However the two twinkly boys I did off on two separate nights gave full satisfaction. Going there to Sunee was a change from my base in the Complex. The former is very run down and a shadow of what it was when I first discovered Pattaya 16 years ago.

Cafe Royale versus the Ambience - much difference?
Travellerdave replied to forrestreid's topic in Gay Thailand
You have a good point there a447a. I would not like to be in the Ambience if there was a fire. It’s rather a maze without one. I remember contacting a boy from GR and on arrival the lobby telephoned me so I told them to send him up. After 5 minutes he had not appeared at my room so I went in search of him and when I found him I got a little lost guiding him.- 15 replies

Cafe Royale versus the Ambience - much difference?
Travellerdave replied to forrestreid's topic in Gay Thailand
Of course when discussing the BT hotels the big issue is the noise factor. As has been mentioned the culprit is the karioki from the Le Cafe which goes on until ridiculously late hour. At the Ambiance it’s better to have a high room for this reason. I’ve eventually got used to the layout and I find that sitting outside gives an opportunity to meet other guests and talk about the Pattaya gay scene.- 15 replies

Yes Jomtien Complex is the place to be for twinks. In terms of quantity I found it better than BT or Sunee, although you dont get to,preview the boys as you do in gogos. Cupidol in BT was rather a disappointment during my recent trip, in that the complement of boys were not twinkly enough for me, whereas in March they were just what I like. However as we all know things can change quickly in the Pattaya Bar world.

Biguyby Yes you are certainly right that it hit and miss at the Sansuck. I visited during my recent trip, and left without any significant sexual experience, even though I went upstairs and prowled about. In the past I very much enjoyed a number of visits and the excitement of the cruising areas upstairs. This time I found to much light and too few boys to have encounters with. I loved kissing and feeling in the maze before entering a cubicle.

I have had boys who on entering my room just march up to the fridge and take a beveridge without asking. When I protested saying something like 'hey that water costs me 80 baht" they act suprised thinking that the mini bar is free. Some boys you have to watch so as to make sure they don't remove a hand towel which would of course go on my account. Of course them removing the small complementary items in the bathroom is not something that concerns me, but removing a nearly full tube of lube did annoy me once. I have to say however that these "offences" Are not for me a regular occurance.

Best wishes for your project which will take a effort to organise. If I was in Pats I would make the investment and see how I turned out, although at my age I fear that a lack of stamina would reduce the potential pleasure. 10 years ago with a gay friend we took 3 boys back to our condo for a party. This was memorable but your project is a step up in scale. If you get it off the ground I'm sure everyone would enjoy a report.

For me the lack of alcohol on the beach would be not a problem at all. During my recent trip I tried to reduce my consumption so my daytime drink was tea and the Thai word was part of my limited vocabulary - "Cha Lawn". Unlike most of my utterances this always produced the desired beverage. Sitting on the beach in nice weather with a cooling breeze under a concession umbrella drinking a large cup of tea was one of the nicer experiences of my holiday. The lack of shade on Wednesdays and Thursdays and the absence of boys to flirt with, was a definite minus however. One day I watched a gang of workers cleaning the beach. They removed large amounts of plastic and other debris. The general view was that Jomtien was less polluted than the Pattaya one, but I've never seen any evidence to back this up. I have swam in the sea at Dongtan over the years without ill effects but maybe I've just been lucky. The same luck maybe when I topped Boys bareback during my first couple of Pattaya trips 17 years ago, and remained healthy.
